POGO is one of thrust! POGO doesn't just post more political blather-- POGO grounds every posting with ACTUAL FACTS!!! POGO shares REAL RESEARCH into the issue being discussed.
I know and trust POGO to give me the facts and to promote intelligent discussion and research around the issues,
One of the foundations of any democracy, let alone a great democracy, is the ability to hold leaders accountable for their actions (and inactions). POGO does this unrelentingly across political divides. Citizens need to know what their elected leaders are doing, for good or bad, and POGO is the window through which we can see and judge politicians.
Our country is literally fighting for its survival, elected officials are owned by the greedy rich, even vanilla laws passed by Congress to insure accountability and transparency are ignored by the Executive branch in conjunction with its crooked DOJ. We are the world's laughing stock. "Nero fiddled while Rome burned and Trump golfed." While most politicians dig in by party lines the non partisan non profits like POGO continue on fighting the good fight for what could be, should be, and will be if we are to see another day. I'll never send another penny to a politician when Pogo gives me so much more for my money.
simply the best... in a galaxy of citizen united like, cloak and dagger, abominations in the non profit category, why not the NFL ? Pogo has no peers...
This small, not well known bulldog of a group does a great job of exposing all the military projects that know how to spend lots of money for very little results.
POGO is one of only a few nonprofits that consistently supplies us with important information about our federal government. Their work is vital to this country. And while they send out a reasonable amount of funding requests, we never feel besieged by it. Truly a great non profit.
Pogo does the research to identify and quantify the ongoings of the governement and keeps me informed of their research in what I consider an unbiased fashion. They are doing a great job.
I am a two tour Vietnam Veteran and a retired aerospace contracts manager, who after 36 years in the Military Industrial Complex, assists small enterprises, veterans, minorities and women owned businesses to enter federal government contracting.
Having been on the inside of the workings of our defense industrial base, I have been constantly impressed with the objectivity, ethics and coverage of the "Project on Government Oversight (POGO)" to surface issues in a clear, factual fashion that citizens must be made aware of. The issues range from waste, fraud and abuse, budgetary matters concerning our largest federal agency, ethics in government and our role on the world stage.
I was a whistle blower years ago when there were few protections for such individuals. I appreciate the support POGO lends these days to that vital function, particularly in the defense industry.
POGO's "Federal Contractor Misconduct Data Base" is an eye opener. It is maintained scrupulously with public records of major corporation government judgments containing details of judicial proceedings and related fines.
The support of POGO for ethics in government has been around for decades. Its reputation is sterling, and its regular Congressional testimony is riveting.
I feature Pogo articles regularly at my web site and will continue to do so in the future.
I can always count on POGO to give us the truth, based on thorough research. I’ve found no other source, non-profiit or otherwise, that can give me information about what the Pentagon is wasting our money upon. We citizens NEED to know this information if we are to do anything about it.
I am thankful for POGO.
I've been reading The Defense Monitor for 30 years, counting on that inside view of Pentagon operations and policies, that watchdogging of the waste and boondoggles, and expose of the protection racket going on with no-bid contracts and special favors. It takes a special kind of courage to keep going with this kind of journalism, all (in the earlier decades, at least) written by retired, highly-ranked military officers. And it takes a special kind of organization, like POGO, to sustain these and similar efforts to get the public the information it needs to hold malfactors in the government accountable, and help those institutions run responsibily. I will continue to support POGO, since it supports all of us, and everything we stand for.
Only organization shining a light into the ark corners of government . Waste, fraud, corruption, and abuse of power has been and is a widespread problem across the federal government. We need watchdogs.
I've known and supported POGO for more than 10 years, and in that time it has broadened its efforts and increased its effectiveness in keeping government honest by exposing waste, fraud, and corruption. Anyone interested in honesty and transparency in our government owes a thanks to POGO.
I have followed POGO for quite a long time and enjoy the way they call out bad actors in government.
It is clear that the staff at POGO are highly skilled and, most importantly, highly ethical. The entire country benefits greatly from the work that they do. From my perspective, they have the impact of much larger organizations because they stay focused on mission.
POGO does great research that I use to communicate with my congressman and senators! Their research keeps me informed and allows hone my request to my representatives. I also need POGO's research to communicate clearly with neighbors. I would be so uninformed without their work.
Great newsletter to learn about government corruption but refuses to accept LGBT as the cause of all corrupt government activities, such as accepting sex criminals who enforce sex for only pleasure on both genders or bisexuals!
POGO provides in depth reports on government actions and inactions and is invaluable to all concerned citizens. I read every issue, even though lately many are painful and cause me deep grief because of the illicit activities of so many government officials.
I am a retired career fed.
I read the POGO emails regularly because they are an authoritative window on what our government is doing that it does not want us to know that it's doing.
I am glad to know and support an organization that is affective, informative, informing me and others. They help still my frustration of feeling helpless with all that is going on.
POGO works hard to attain the truth for all of us!
I wish more people knew about POGO and at the very least read the very informative emails sent to me. Eye opening, often shocking .... thankyou POGO!
I believe that POGO is one of the most important groups that are out there, I receive over a humdred e mails a day. I a lot are for animals etc but as far as the government and the departments that supposed to be working for us they are by far the best. They do their research and you can count on it will be the facts. They cover all aspects of the daily game. Many are issues that we would never even know that was happening behind the scenes. The shear amount of money that is wasted that they uncover is mind numbing. I do not understand why more people do not follow all of this information since it is the taxpayers money. The corruption is insidious. On the subject of the F35 for example, I have been following it's disgusting disaster before I started receiving e mails from POGO. They uncovered and followed more than I was able to. So when someone says we don't have enough budget for so & so. I tell them I have one word for you, the F35. I trust POGO more than a lot of news sources. I thank them for all of their work and will continue to.
I joined POGO only a few months ago after reading a story sourced to it. I have been absolutely amazed at the terrific work I have learned about since joining. They do wonderful research and distribute their findings in clear, unbiased reports. We need more organizations like POGO to hold our government accountable.
Government transparency - what a concept!
In every administration, it is necessary to have someone holding the government accountable. This is the mandate of The Project on Government Oversight, Inc. and they do it exceptionally well.
POGO keeps citizens informed. Informed citizens are the cornerstone of our democracy. They pressure Congress and the administration to enact meaningful reforms, such as recent legislation to protect whistleblowers and crack down on human traffickers. Their articles are well researched and well written. I support them as much as possible, even on my meager Social Security income.
They tell the truth, and are a daily read foe me. They provide important news that I trust completely.
The one place i can go for the truth. Much appreciated.
One hell of a organization! Thanks to all POGO employees who work so hard to inform the American citizens of the critical issues we need to understand in order to help us be responsible countrymen/women. It is organizations like POGO that truly "MAGA".
Now, more than ever, this organization is needed by the American people. Oversight of govt. is necessary for a democracy to thrive. We are lucky to have such a group fighting for us.
They are unsung heroes! Without them so much Government corruption and malfeasance would go undetected and/or fly way under the radar.
In a time of so much uncertainty, POGO's work to make our government more accountable is more urgent than ever. Amidst the noise and confusion, POGO stands as a pillar of truth and non-partisan accountability. It provides transparency to help America adhere to its values. I turn to POGO for reliable information about our government's institutions.
I've been a fan of POGO for years. The organization consistently highlights what's going on in the government in such a way that it is clear and informative.
Years ago, in my then role as a news reporter, I came across POGO and quickly became a great admirer of the work they do, work that is essential to spotlighting the work and errors of government agencies and sharing that information with the public. For a number of years now I have made modest financial contributions to POGO and honestly believe its work is both vital and under-appreciated. POGO gets my vote!
Definitely one of the hardest working nonprofits going. They've brought situations in my home state of Oregon and nationwide to my attention time after time.
No matter which party is in power, transparency and accountability seem to us to be in short supply. POGO staff are like "Honesty Wasps" which keep on stinging and reminding Congress and the public where there is trouble in River City. The organization's emphasis on emphasizing the value of whistleblowers is truly spot-on.
We pick our charities carefully-POGO is at the top of our list.

Because any form of effective self-regulation is a rarity in government sponsored service, the existence of P.O.G.O. is an existential necessity, without which our society would soon cease to function at all. Their attention to corrupt practices and schemes is a huge assist in the disclosure of said aberrations and the corrective forces that are brought to bear upon them. I appreciate the opportunity they provide me to contribute to this monitoring service.
POGO seeks the truth about our government. When I first saw this in my email . I wondered who was it sending emails to me. Having so many emails and organizations contact me, i immediately deleted the email. Looking for someone I deleted by mistake, I went rummaging in my spam and trash. Suddenly, the POGO email appeared . This time I looked at this organization more closely and found that I had made a huge mistake. POGO is one of the few organizations that take the time to investigate all crucial matters regarding our government.
I've valued POGO reports for several years. The F-35 debacle as reported extensively by POGO was pertinent information for the Sioux Falls City Council several years ago. Sioux Falls Commissioners were excited that the Sioux Falls Air Guard was high on the list for F-16 replacements by F-35s. I reported POGO findings to the City Council and got a number of head nods. Fortunately for Sioux Falls, the F-35s went elsewhere.
Like so many others I receive many Political Emails everyday, most asking for money so they will do the job they are already paid to do. I don't read most of them but I always read POGO,. You are a shining light into the political waste and corruption that the common citizen must be aware of. Hopefully someday enough people will understand that most members of Congress do not Represent us, they represent Corporations and themselves and then we will remove them.. Their "Smoke and Mirrors", Flea Circus" and continued manufactured crisis to distract us will stop being believed (As a need for more money or even reality). Then maybe "Our" Government will be reclaimed by the American Public. One can only hope.
Tell your story and help a charity get noticed!
I DO APPRECIATE MUCH THE POGO TEAM FOR GOOD WORK THEY HAVE BEEN DOING TO THE US EMBASSY NAIROBI, GUARD FORCE. POGO BEING OUR POINT OF CONTACT/WHISTLE BLOWER. POGO IS DETERMINED FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE. KEEP IT.
This is one of the few places to go where you can read investigative reporting. POGO Is helpful for me because i stay on my Representative & Senators, and POGO gives me accurate information. POGO is right up there with Mother Jones for me. POGO is totally deserving of your support.
POGO is one of my most trusted sources for news. The mass media no longer funds investigative journalism, and POGO fills that vacuum. Critical thinking is fine and good. But it's damn difficult without some facts to base it on. i am most grateful to POGO, and i value this organization immensely.
i always open my emails from pogo because their articles are clearly written so that even I as a layman understand the issue presented, Articles always seem clear and thoroughly researched remarkably free of apparent bias
My intellectual/ moral world view has been informed for 60 years by parsimony, clarity, uncompromising objectivity and documentation, and I have never been disappointed by a POGO article.
I'm over 60 and have seen a lot over the years, lies, corruption, murder in #'s,cheaters, and stealers. But nothing like whats going on today !!~ Greed and power is the #1 problem now, along with technology enabling us to kill without human interaction as well as all those dirty deeds done dirt cheap aimed at spying on everyone for profit in one way or another. The human race is out of control ! I don't socialize much anymore at least not with humans. I do look forward to seeing all this exposed and my #1 go to for that information and more is POGO . I can always count on accurate information from POGO not hype ! Here's to you POGO and all the people within and the hard work they do to expose and help us see humanity for what it has become. If the world can be saved it starts here !
I have no experience but POGO and others should listen that Trump's wife allegedly said he read Hitler who wanted to have a master race rule the whole world and was partly responsible for 60 million deaths during WWII. I have heard some say these times are similar to those leading up to WWII. No one seems to be able to stop Trump who is not that far from being a Hitler.
There are many independent journalists and news services that serve those interested in an alternative perspective room to be proud. None more so than ny experience with POGO. The journalists are fearless and persistent. They provide in-depth stories and most importantly they get results while gaining respect and attention from members of Congress. POGO is my go-to for accuracy and outcomes. Thanks to all those who work tirelessly for us all!
I learn a great deal of very relevant information about the US government from the articles published and sent to me by POGO. They help me understand the issues and enable me to discuss the issues intelligently with others.
You folks are an island of hope for me. It is such a comfort to me too know that in the midst of all the partisan baloney you folks tend to the business of telling me when our government sometimes actually functions efficiently and more often when our government is simply wasting its time and the taxpayers dollars.
Project on Government Oversight (POGO) is my go to source for unbiased information on Corruption and/or unethical actions by our government and it's representative's. POGO also exposes wasteful spending by our government and it's entities.
Actually lives up to expectations of excellence and impartiality.
The way POGO tracks the never battleworthy, ever dollar-gobbling F-35 is emblematic of why Cecilia and I will keep POGO on our list of organizations to support. POGO reminds us that there are many people and bureaus in the government who thrive on staying out of the public eye. It's POGO that keeps me aware, for example, that the Pentagon is immune to serious audit. Granted, POGO's updates constitute an unmanageable river of notifications that I cannot do anything about, but without them the country would be for me a different, and much more imaginary, place. POGO gives the lie to politicians who try to degrade all public discourse by painting all responsible news gatherers as "fake." We need POGO as badly as we need any journalistic instrument.
Our politicians and government are out of control now. They have forgotten that they have citizens to whom they must be held accountable. POGO is an essential line of defense against our out-of-control administration. The work they do has provided a necessary line of defense against the greed and power grabbing of people and agencies who are very adept at pulling the wool over they eyes of the public. I depend on POGO to keep me informed and to act to protect me and my fellow citizens.
I have found MANY non profits that I donated to are actually biased one way or another. When I saw "government oversight" I was quite leary because most "oversight" . Most are pro government administrations, which is not what the name implies.
POGO is one group whose email I read regularly. POGO's overview and detailed reporting is essential for every citizen's understanding of government corruption and over-spending of taxpayer dollars. They are one of the most important groups in America right now. Everyone should be aware of their heroic efforts to keep our government accountable.
As a journalist covering waste and fraud in the federal government for many years, I have always relied upon POGO to get facts and credible analyses. POGO's leader, Danielle Brian, and general counsel Scott Amey are among the smartest people I know when it comes to understanding what is happening and why in federal departments and agencies. Their program to train congressional investigators is critically important. I put POGO, Cause of Action and Judicial Watch at the top of the heap among the many non-profits seeking to increase transparency and accountability in Washington.
POGO does the work no other non-profit does. I get information that is useful, current and of importance in keeping our government accountable to the people.
POGO is one of my go to organisations for stories on how our government is doing or not doing its job and protecting our tax dollars. I share the stories and articles with friends and others who are interested in how our government is doing.
My small donations to this group date back to the non-partisan Center for Defense Information, before the merger w/POGO.
More than ever, we need intelligent people looking closely at bloated federal & military budgets to assure Americans that our hard-earned & limited tax dollars are being spent wisely.
POGO does just that--in a non-partisan & open manner--where I know my donations are being put to good & practical use.
I'm a bleeding-heart liberal who spends a lot of time rubbing elbows with die-hard conservatives. One thing that we have in common is that we abhor dishonesty and waste, and POGO does a phenomenal job of bringing BAD government to light and prompting improvements in a non-partisan manner.
POGO is a great organization which keeps an eye on the government.
POGO is a great institution which provides information on what the government is doing with our money. They conduct very thorough investigations and provide thoughtful analysis of the cases they investigate.
For over a decade, I have utilized the POGO website and newsletter to keep myself informed about threats to transparency and accountability in government, as well as POGO-led initiatives to fight governmental corruption and misconduct. I appreciate POGO’s nonpartisan and evidence-based approach, and the integrity of the POGO staff. Based on POGO’s strong track record, I have great faith in the organization’s ability to foster accountability in government for years to come.
I look forward to my weekly POGO in review. It is very reassuring to know these hard working people are watching out for all of us every day. Where would we be without them?
Pogo continues to impress us with their boundless research into government waste and boondoggles. They deserve all the financial help they can get.
As a researcher of stories that appear questionable, my life has been turned upside down with the physical, mental and social harassment by unknown individuals who are either working with government agencies or back-channel groups planning to use the citizens of this country to promote their own agendas. If your agency really is able to stop the impending genocide of so many human lives, contact people who still have some ability to contact the outside world and share information. My days on the internet are numbered and I will be unable to stay involved. "StopTheCrime.net" is one of the best resources from which you can obtain the most current "documented" evidence of crimes against humanity and the environment. I would like to show my appreciation for your hard work and dedication to the cause, though, and know that without groups like yours, our lost rights and freedoms would have come much sooner. God bless all of your staff and reporters.
