The Project on Government Oversight is perhaps the most important watchdog organization scrutinizing the federal government today. It offers insightful, well-researched analysis and critiques of federal actors, programs, and spending with the aim of promoting greater transparency, accountability, and effectiveness of federal investments of taxpayers' money. POGO helps keep concerned members of the public like me well-informed and invites us to participate in actions to demand better from our government and by extension for ourselves and our communities.
