I have chosen to assist POGO on occasion, with specific projects that are fully intended to keep government, at all levels, honest and mindful of its own mission statement. I am concerned about officials, at any level, getting arrogant, having witnessed this on July 4, 2007. My wheelchair -bound wife, at least two other American citizens, and I were hounded by "security guards" , an employee of the US Department of Justice (who threatened to ram one of the other people with his car), and an office staffer, from, I believe, the Securities and Exchange Commission, just for being in the area of government buildings, while it was raining. It doesn't take much for a Federal, state or municipal employee to forget for whom he or she works. POGO's role in this is essential, especially with ethical and financial issues.
