POGO does the job that the GAO and departmental IGs ought to be doing better. I count on them to keep me informed about fraud, abuse, and downright silliness in government.

I admire their tenacity and thoroughness and so donate annually. They are especially good on looking at defense procurement, an area which is always rife with inefficiency and, sadly, corruption in virtually all nations. You need an independent watchdog to try and keep things open and honest.
