This is an organization that helps protect both wildlife and the environment. You not only sign petitions, you are asked to answer various questions related to each petition. It's your way of saying what other reasons why you either agree or disagree with the petition itself.

EESI is an outstanding organization, committed to thorough research and communication with lawmakers. I had the opportunity to intern with them a few years ago, and it was a fantastic opportunity. Not only did I get first hand experience with a on the Hill, but I was given several different responsibilities that made me feel like I was making a difference. The internship program is uniquely designed to give students real experience and control over their work. Additionally, the staff is clearly dedicated to the organizations mission, and it shows in their work. The staff members produce timely and reliable pieces, as they look to share a bipartisan, environmental message with as many stakeholders as possible. I am thankful for my time at EESI, and even more grateful for all the work they are doing for our planet.

Curse the Heritage Foundation and everyone who helped create Project 2025. May you all die from air pollution or a new pandemic, and may your children be unemployable because they are too stupid to figure anything out. I hope your new car falls into a pothole on the interstate. May you be tended by a doctor who failed out of med school. May you be served by the only male nurse in the hospital because all the females have gone out on maternity leave.

As someone who deeply values and appreciates nature, I'm a huge supporter of the Ocean Conservancy. Their dedication to protecting our oceans and the incredible life within them is inspiring. They're doing vital work to ensure a healthy future for our planet, and I'm proud to support their efforts.

It's sad to see that so many of the reviewers on Great Nonprofits don't understand what the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is and does! The local humane society in your community is a separate organization. Humane Society International (HSI)is a separate organization. <br> <br>HSUS deals with "big picture" issues of animal abuse, neglect, dog fighting, hunting, and other policies within the US. They share "best practices" and support of all sorts with small welfare and advocacy groups across the US. They help local agencies investigage large cases; they help local agencies rescue massive cases of hoarding, abuse, neglect... One relatively new area of focus that makes me hopeful for companion animals is on how to create equity in accessing pet care, as vet costs skyrocket. <br> <br>I have worked with and learned from their programs, and have great respect for HSUS. They work to maximize the impact of the funds donors give them in addressing the issues affecting animals across the US. <br> <br>No nonprofit is perfect, but please learn more about the work a group does before you write a review of them.

My experience of FONA has and continues to be phenomenal and fulfilling to my self-care needs. I have appreciated the create ways that FONA staff and members have created and facilitated recreational events to include forest bathing -- even bringing back a magical night of full moon forest bathing and full moon night hikes. What a beautiful reconnection with nature!

I am thrilled to share my experience as a volunteer for Americans for Safe Access (ASA), a remarkable non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring safe access to medical cannabis for patients across different states. Throughout my time volunteering with ASA, specifically during their Advocacy Academy and Hill Day events, I had the opportunity to engage in impactful activities that have left a lasting impression on me. <br> <br>During the Advocacy Academy, ASA equipped me with invaluable tools and knowledge on effectively communicating with and educating legislators. The training sessions were comprehensive and provided me with the confidence to articulate the importance of patient access to medical cannabis. I learned how to effectively advocate for the rights of patients and how to navigate the legislative process to bring about positive change. <br> <br>One of the most memorable aspects of my volunteer experience was participating in citizen lobbying on Capitol Hill. It was an empowering experience to engage directly with members of Congress and their staff, sharing personal stories and discussing the crucial need for safe access to medical cannabis. The opportunity to be a voice for patients and witness the impact of our advocacy efforts was truly inspiring. <br> <br>Volunteering with ASA also allowed me to hear firsthand accounts from patients whose lives have been positively transformed through medical cannabis. These stories were incredibly moving and served as a constant reminder of the importance of our advocacy work. It motivated me to deepen my commitment to advocating on their behalf and to amplify their voices. <br> <br>Beyond the meaningful work, ASA provided a platform for me to forge connections and friendships with a diverse network of individuals. I had the privilege of interacting with industry professionals, patients, and fellow volunteers who share a common passion for improving patient access to medical cannabis. These connections have enriched my understanding of the industry and opened doors to new opportunities for collaboration. <br> <br>In summary, my time volunteering for Americans for Safe Access has been an empowering and transformative journey. The organization's dedication to advocating for patient access to medical cannabis is commendable, and their efforts have a tangible impact on the lives of countless individuals. I reached out to the council in desperation after hearing from GamAnon that they had free services for loved ones. They told me that the recommendation was to forget my partner who is not in active recovery. This goes against the science, as there have been numerous studies how family intervention may be needed. They didn't want to pay for the free counseling to family members (because he's still sick) instead of helping with the situation, they ignored me, and treated me, like I am crazy. Absolutely heartbreaking money-making, constantly fundraising for itself, fake operation. Discrimination at its finest against the very people it claims to care about most.

Another charity rating service gives NARAL four stars, their highest possible rating, and 91.45 out of 100 on another scale they use. Looking at their IRS for 990s there is no evidence of overpaid executives. <br>All that, along with GuideStar's GOLD rating is good enough for me.

I would go as far to call this elder abuse. They inundate my father with mailings with urgent language that to someone his age and unfamiliar with these scams, seems realistic. This is essentially a company and they are soliciting to pay their salaries. And worse, I bet you noticed once you give, you get more. And more. And not just from them...but from all the other related "charities". They sell their lists so you keep getting more mail.

I have been involved with YPFP for several years in a volunteer capacity helping young professionals enhance their writing and analytical skills. The organization provides a wonderful platform new and developing professionals in the DC area to network and engage with one another on substantive issues. It also serves as a valuable resource for those who hope to engage in foreign policy professionally but may not have the opportunity to do so at their current jobs. YPFP is an extremely helpful organization for emerging professionals in a field that can be difficult to break into. Staff are welcoming and collegial, and I look forward to continuing to volunteer.

The C-SPAN network - https://www.c-span.org/ - that's organized and operated by the National Cable Satellite Corporation is just about the best information and programming available on TV and on the internet.<br>All cable companies should include all 3 C-SPAN channels in their basic line-up.

I have worked with Africare in East Africa & in West Africa for several years. Prior to working with Africare, I worked as an Flood control Engineer with Dewberry-in Arlington Virginia. <br><br>I enjoyed my work with Africare. I met great friends who also volunteered to work with Africare.

This is a very good, kind-hearted organization with which I (and another family member) has been involved as donors/patrons. And, these folks who run, and are served by, the nonprofit are real, very good artists! Well worth your money & time. Thank you.

The resources that NCA provides, especially during the beginning of the pandemic have helped us to continue seeing kids, safely, during this time.

This organization is doing an awesome job, transforming lives of those who are often forgotten about. They are some very dedicated individuals, who are making individual lives better each day at a time.

It has been my distinct honor to serve on the PLC board. As the longest serving member of this current compostion of members, I know the quantifiable criteria established for service on the board-particularly the commitment and dedication required. Each and every member clearly understands policy decisions made have direct implications and consequences for the fragile population of young people we indirectly serve. As an "evidence based" organization commited to providing quality "life impacting" services for young people, PLC is in my mind, the standard bearer and an organization worthy of exemplary model status.

This year again, EcoAgriculture Partners has demonstrated its capacity to influence global debates about sustainable landscapes and food systems in the most efficient way.<br>I am proud to chair the Board of Directors of this great organization.

I began volunteering with the USCHS several years ago with my wife and son, and have loved every experience I've had with the organization ever since! Their educational programs and tours are so impressive, and the passion they bring to bear astounds me to this day. I continue to volunteer, and have joined as a member to avail myself to all that the Society has to offer!

I am surprised this charity is rated Gold. First, NIF has a 25% overhead rate, which is high for a nonprofit, as noted by Charity Navigator. Second, NIF gives 20% of their funds to groups that accuse Israel of war crimes and crimes against humanity, as well as to groups supporting BDS. This includes Breaking the Silence, B'tselem, and Adalah, as documented by NGO Monitor. There are progressive charities in Israel that support the poor, such as Yad Ezra v'Shulamit, that do not carry the baggage of NIF. I run a small charitable foundation, and I recommend avoiding this nonprofit.
