POGO is a great institution which provides information on what the government is doing with our money. They conduct very thorough investigations and provide thoughtful analysis of the cases they investigate.

Medshare is a great non-profit which benefits both the environment and medical teams worldwide. The environmental aspect is helped by their goal of recycling donated medical supplies from the landfill to agencies which can put these supplies to work. Worldwide medical teams can log onto their website and select the supplies which they actually need. The medical supplies are sorted by volunteers who learn to recognize various medical supplies and check for expiration dates. It is very interesting and a great educational experience.
