Mission: At the Center for Biological Diversity, we believe that the welfare of human beings is deeply linked to nature;to the existence in our world of a vast diversity of wild animals and plants. Because diversity has intrinsic value, and because its loss impoverishes society, we work to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction. We do so through science, law, and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters, and climate that species need to survive. We want those who come after us to inherit a world where the wild is still alive.

Results: According to the LA Weekly, we're "pound for pound, dollar for dollar, the most effective conservation organization in the country."

This is my favorite environmental organization. I donate to them more than any other group except SUWA. They are so focused, so no-nonsense, so in love with the wildlife they strive to protect. Kieran Suckling is tireless, totally dedicated, and very articulate.

I love the Center for Biological Diversity because of all the work it does in many areas that I am concerned with. Wildlife is a huge issue for me but other aspects of the environment as well. Trying to reduce the effects of climate change and steer the world toward renewable energy is a huge issue. I have traveled to the Arctic and Antarctica where you can easily see the effects of global warming. Dealing with poaching and wildlife trafficking is important. Saving the forests, clearing the oceans of plastic and fish nets that snare unintended fish, animal trapping, trophy hunting and poisoning, and making the rivers safe for salmon and other fish is all important. Saving the wolves and polar bears and so many other apex animals is a necessity. Creating better wildlife corridors, not building walls. And so much not mentioned. The Center for Biological Diversity is in my will for a large bequest.

Center for Biological Diversity is by far my favorite environmental non-profit, and I donate to them regularly through my Amazon Smile account. They are one of the few environmental groups bold enough and wise enough to address that a shift toward a plant-based diet is crucial to our planet's future through their Take Extinction Off Your Plate campaign. I am so proud to support them and their efforts on behalf of all species!

Center for Biological Diversity is one of the few environmental non-profits that is educating the public about the effect of animal agriculture on biodiversity with their Take Extinction Off Your Plate campaign, which is really a crisis that very few are talking about. They are also one of the few organizations who are educating people about the human overpopulation problem with their 7 Billion and Counting campaign, which includes clever slogans on the endangered species condoms. I'm a vegan and I choose not to have children to do the most I can for the planet, so they very much align with my personal feelings on how to best achieve a sustainable world.

Due to my love for nature, animals and specifically cats, I research on so many different topics for wildlife conservation. I have contacted the center on couple of different occasions and have gotten direct response from SME. I do thank them for their love and passion for our wildlife and caring for our planet. And I truly learn about the work the center does and so much more from their emails. Thank you for all that you do. ❤

This is my go-to source for fact-based knowledge about environmental challenges, and the truth about imperiled species...plus they're always front and center for legal actions to protect wild species and wild places. I've been a subscriber to their newsletter, petition-signer, and member activist for as long as i can remember. I occasionally get overwhelmed with climate change bad news, but I never, EVER cancel my subscription to this organization's timely, straightforward, organized and intelligent newsletter and bulletins. As a biologist, I know that the Center for Biological Diversity picks its issues thoughtfully and with real expertise. It doesn't focus on species and habitats based on their "charisma;" rather, it educates us about the importance of *every* species in natural ecosystems, and why those that are most vulnerable must be protected. I am confident that my donations are put to exceedingy effective use.

The Center for Biological Diversity works tirelessly to preserve our wild spaces, plants, and animals. They fight against pollution, deforestation, and habitat destruction. They also provide quick and easy ways to get involved besides just donating, like signing petitions electronically and sending prewritten emails to government officials (that we can personalize) to have our voice heard on many environmental issues.

The Center works hard for the betterment of our country's natural spaces. It's important work, and they do it well. They have simple, but effective ways for those who receive their emails to personalize and then send prewritten letters to Congress and other organizations to urge them to act in favor of animals and wild spaces. Without these emails, I wouldn't know where to begin in terms of taking action to help preserve the creation.

I can only afford to support a few environmental organizations and Center for Biological Diversity is one of them. They fight the battles that are, unfortunately, needed to to help insure that future generations will have a world filled with nature as well as educate. People need biological diversity for many, many reasons (both aesthetically and practically - who knows what new medicine has yet to be found) and CBD works to make certain that it will be here for future generations.

The Center for Biological Diversity is my favorite environmental organization. They don't give away tote bags, calendars, mugs and other gimmicky merchandise in exchange for donations, so I know that the money I send them won't be wasted. I've been a supporter and member of this organization for a long time. Twice, a friend of mine and I have volunteered to participate in a CBD presentation at the Natural History Museum in San Diego. Both nights the museum was hosting a night for "Adultologists" . These festive occasions attracted large groups of people to the museum, who, as they were passing us , saw our colorful boxes with different pictures of endangered species on them that were displayed on our table. We were able to disseminate a lot of information to people regarding environmental concerns and even gave tests to people to help them to determine individual carbon footprints. The purpose of the colorful boxes with rhymes on them and condoms inside was to remind people of the reality of human over-population of the earth, and their individual responsibility in that problem. The explanation showing the size of the carbon footprint of each child born, especially in a first world country, is a very straight forward way of pointing out an important factor in the extinction of endangered species; over-population, which results in destruction of habitat, food and water, and breeding partners. Many, many people came by to talk, read, and listen to the messages from CBD. Every response both nights was positive and a lot of the participants thanked the volunteers for their work there. I would gladly volunteer again to support the Center for Biological Diversity so that the organization, its work and accomplishments are more widely known.

I have known members of the Center for Biological Diversity since I arrived in Tucson in 1996, and I have found this group to be filled with dedicated conservationists, brilliant lawyers, and scientists with incredible knowledge about the natural world. Together, they manage to devise creative campaigns, protect species both locally and nationally, and file the lawsuits needed to protect our natural world. The CBD employees live modestly and devote many overtime hours to the protection of our planet and, especially, the varied non-human life forms that inhabit it. Any donations to the Center will be put to good use--because, as they say, "Life is good."

One thing that sets the CBD apart from other eco organizations is that they are not afraid to take controversial stands. They are one of the few, if not the only eco centers that speaks out about over population. This is at the heart of many of the problems we are facing now, yet most groups don’t want to mention it for fear of offending someone. Their condom giveaway is brilliant, and brings to the front an important perspective. Thank you for your work!

Though I'm not an American, in my opinion the Center for Biological Diversity is the best conservation organization in all of N. America (maybe the world?). They work to help/save seemingly anything from a small snail on the last riverbed habitat in Texas to the largest mammals in the world. And they sue the pants off of any entity to do it, which many times is needed to get someone's attention. Even if the battles take years, it is worth it. Thanks CBD!

When it comes to protecting and saving species, the Center is simply the best. They consistently go the extra mile to save creatures (and plants) large and small, iconic and unknown. Their legal, scientific and advocacy work is cutting edge, their dedication and devotion to the cause, unwavering. And their love for the wild is touching and true. I've been a donor and admirer for at least 15 years, and more recently, a volunteer as well.

With the extinction crisis looming on planet Earth (more then a million species at risk), we need the Center for Biological Diversity to help us turn it around. Their Saving Life on Earth campaign deserves everyone's highest level of support. Our own fate depends on it.

I have been interested in environmental protection for over 40 years. I realized early that protection of land, water, and habitats is fundamental to keeping our Nation and our world more natural, resilient, and healthy. The Center for Biological Diversity employs strong science based knowledge to guard our neighborhoods, lands, and air from pollution which harms all living creatures - many of which we may not even know are struggling or under threat. I appreciate CBD's intelligent and powerful legal capability for making sure polluters do not ruin our world. They are one of the best organizations for protecting life on planet Earth.

Our family thinks that the "Center for Biological Diversity" is a great nonprofit!

My family and I believe that the "Center" is very effective, and, hardworking. They stay abreast of all the current attacks on wildlife, and, Nature, and, have a well-qualified staff of attorneys who file regular lawsuits to save laws like the "Endangered Species Act" from attacks, and, weakening, by the Trump administration.
