Review for Center for Biological Diversity Inc, Tucson, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

i have been a supporter of this organization for years and find them to be one of the very best groups working on behalf of our environment.
They keep you up to date with a fantastic newsletter where they usually present several actions to take. Plus many other really interesting stories about our amazing planet and the lives that depend on it.

Review for Center for Biological Diversity Inc, Tucson, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

They are definitely one of the most hard-hitting and best performing organizations out there.
I almost always agree with them on what is important and where to focus their energies.

They have a heart and care about the things that I care about and their lawsuits get great results. I like knowing that the donations I make are getting things done.

Thank you CBD.

Review for World Class-Ghana Inc, La Grangeville, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

since i have traveled to ghana i know how important this organization is to these people. world class is doing the kind of work that is necessary rather than just giving aid to people, it helps people stand up on their own - with just a little bit of help from outside. i cannot think of a more worthy endeavor than helping women help themselves because women are the backbone of the family and the community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

only in the capacity of reading their informative website and looking at pictures of satisfied recipients.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

it looks to me like this organization is working and i would not know how to change it for the better.

Role:  Volunteer & i am a donor and believe in this organizaiton.

Review for V-Day, San Francisco, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

it happened that the play we put on was not the vagina monologues but we had a congo teach-in in conjunction with the play and people learned about v-day. to be honest, i got too emotional when speaking about what the women in the DRC are facing each day. this prevented me from drilling home the issue---- although i did have lots of literature around which stated clearly the horrors that women and girls face. v-day org. has alot of materials that can be quite useful when you are putting on any kind of event for the public. even when you think that everyone must already know what's happening to women and girls, you'd be surprised! this is a subject that no one wants to speak about and thus it continues. eve ensler has been the brave soul who has "opened this can of worms" and now many more women are speaking up......that's all it will take - we cannot be silent about this issue - no matter how much of a bringdown the truth is.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

just watching the vimeos of the city of joy being built. from a pile of bricks to buildings with windows and roofs.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

none

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that they work with the people that they are helping. they follow the lead of women that live there rather than coming into a place and telling them what to do. they listen.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

do alot more.

Ways to make it better...

can't think of anything that would make it better.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the fact that the truth is not pretty and people don't want to talk about it.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  Volunteer & we put on a play in our community center and all proceeds went to v-day.
