I have donated to the Center for many years now. It is a remarkable advocate for the web of life that sustains us all. Unlike many environmental organizations, it takes the holistic view that all species are important because all are linked. And so it fights, persistently and strategically, to preserve every one that it can -- decade after decade, seemingly indefatigably, against powerful moneyed interests and shortsighted governmental bureaucracies alike. In short, Kieran Suckling and his crew are among the heroes that our environment so desperately needs during this time of crisis, on the precipice of the sixth mass extinction in the history of the world -- the only one caused by humans.
