Review for Center for Biological Diversity Inc, Tucson, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Center for Biological Diversity is by far the finest and most effective protector of life on Earth that I know of. They first got my attention with their campaign of Endangered Species condoms, highlighting the fact that virtually every environmental problem is based on human overpopulation; and for years I was appalled at the lack of this acknowledgement by every other environmental org. I follow and support several other environmental orgs, but the Center stands head and shoulders above the rest. I have attended California Fish and Game Commission meetings and seen their extraordinarily brilliant lawyers in action. Their success rate speaks for itself. In this time of mass extinctions, we need the leadership of the Center to save as much as possible from greed and indifference. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Center for Biological Diversity is a 15.

Review for Shadow Husky Rescue Inc, Menifee, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been very active in Rescue, as a volunteer and as an admin, and have dealt with many exceptionally fine people. From my experience, Shadow Husky Rescue is on a pedestal by itself. To begin, they are one of the few husky rescues I know of who accepts owner surrenders. This in itself is HUGE: it keeps sensitive dogs out of pounds, helps good people who are struggling, and allows for many dogs with less trauma than those who end up at the pound. (Any place that kills animals is NOT a "shelter", which is defined as a place of safety). These folks seem to be tireless: always on the go, always saving dogs. I adopted an epileptic dog from them in 2020. I adored him, but ran into health problems that would endanger us both if he had seizures. In hopes of a quick recovery, Shadow Husky accepted him back into their foster program; and when my recovery was questionable, they found the perfect home for him. I miss him like crazy, but I am overjoyed that he has a wonderful family now. Unlike many other rescues that are always trolling for money (and ALL need money!) they do not post about how many dogs they've saved; they are too busy saving more. On a scale of 1-10, Shadow Husky Rescue is an 11.

Review for National Anti-Vivisection Society, Chicago, IL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

National Anti-Vivisection Society works tirelessly and intelligently to stop the pointless abuse and torture of animals, when resources should be spent on computer models and human models. These are far more accurate than expensive and terrifying tests on animals, the results of which rarely translate to human benefit, as can be seen by the plethora of lawsuits against medications and surgical techniques based on other species reactions. National Anti-Vivisection Society is an effective voice of reason.

Review for Buffalo Field Campaign, West Yellowstone, MT, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This small and incredibly dedicated group squeezes every penny to get its full benefit. Although I

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

weekly emails that lift my spirit while making me angry at affronts to our last wild bison, and the INBELIEVEABLE WASTE OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS. Also, they do a great job of spreading the word. If I wasn't poor AND disabled, I'd go volunteer with them.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give them unlimited money for their work

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

weekly emails that lift my spirit

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

HAVEN'T MET ANY IN PERSON; SAW THE DOCUMENTARY BUFFALO BATTLES

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Protect our wild bison against stupid, evil and greedy politicos

Ways to make it better...

they had more money to work with

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

low budget and stupid, evil and greedy politicos

Review for Center for Biological Diversity Inc, Tucson, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Center for Bilogical Diversity actually deserves 10 stars (out of 5) for their overall effectiveness. In my book, they rose from 5 stars to 10 when they finally began to address the fact that ALL of our environmental problems stem from the extreme human overpopulation. We cannot continue to turn every resource on Earth into more humans, leaving no room for other species! I have been appalled that no other environmental group will touch this issue which lies at the heart of every problem. CBD is the BEST!
