I had the privilege of traveling with Blanca’s House for about 30 missions. It has been such an eye opening event to see the lack of health care in 3rd world countries. These patients feel so lucky to receive healthcare from our organization. The smiles on the faces of our patients keep us coming back!
Blanca’s House has been an integral part in helping two of my children choose a career in healthcare. The organization enabled them to see healthcare first hand and be a part in changing so many people’s lives for the better.
Being a part of Blancas House Organization has impacted my life in such a positive way. I have had the opportunity to help around my community as well as go on a medical mission to Honduras. I have gained so much from my experiences and it has influenced me to want to be in the healthcare field and help as many people as I can. I am so thankful to be a part of this organization!
I am a volunteer and donor to Blanca’s house because of the care and dedication the organization exhibits
I frequently donate to Blanca’s House to assist them in their overseas medical missions. When you see the very publicized results of these missions you know every dollar donated is put to good use with no waste apparent. In fact the organizers and members spend their own money for travel expenses and incidentals to ensure donated funds go toward the medical treatments provided to patients in areas that medical help is not always available.
Blancas House is an amazing organization who has opened up many doors for myself and paved my way into medicine. This wonderful organization has helped me value the life we live and how lucky we truly are. Thank you Blancas House for these memories and the education you have provided me.
I had the opportunity to travel to Ecuador with my University and work with Blanca's House in order to reform a school. We sanded, scraped and painted all of the schools buildings, as well as a Blanca's House clinic. When we landed in the airport, Blanca's House greeted us with respect and excitement immediately. Blanca's House taught me so much about the culture and the needs of the community in Ecuador. They genuinely want to help anyone they can in anyway they can. The generosity and understanding of everyone in this nonprofit amazed me. They opened up their homes, their clinics, and their hearts to show us the difference they are making within the community. I am so grateful to have had this experience with Blanca's House during my time abroad.
This organization is absolutely amazing and has done so much to help so many people. I am so thankful for the people they have brought into my life!
I haven't gone on any missions personally, but know many people who have. They always come back raving about how hard they worked, how many people they helped, and how much fun they had doing it. I have helped in their Thanksgiving Soup kitchens (stateside) for the last two years and loved every moment of it; it's amazing to know that not only do they help those in 3rd world countries but also the people at home too. Heartwarming and caring people to work with - can't wait for this year's soup kitchen!
I have been on 10 Blanca's House missions since 2010. I couldn't ask for a more rewarding and fulfilling experience. The coordinators, physicians, nurses, volunteers, and everyone in between have all been nothing but incredibly dedicated and passionate. We work hard and it all pays off at the end of a long week. I would go on every trip if I could. 12/10 recommend.
Working with Blanca’s House was one of the best experiences of my life. I loved how Blanca’s House ensured that the volunteers became so in touch and connected to the community. Not only was the service incredible, but the people who worked for the organization made the volunteers feel like they were part of the family.
I love this charity and organization! It gives opportunities for those who would never have received them if not for their hard work
I worked with Blanca's house the spring of 2019. It was an amazing experience and I truly felt like I was part of a family. Galo is such an amazing person who would always bring a smile to everyones face. The team that accompanied him was full of passionate people who truly cared for those around them. The people involved in this organization allowed me to thrive in Ecuador and to do the best service that I could. We created such a bond that I will never forget and always cherish and I would love to travel with Blanca's house again!!
This is an amazing organization that has helped me realize how valuable the human person is. I am so thankful for all this organization has brought me and the introduction to the medical field in such a profound and beautiful way.
I have been a volunteer for Blanca's House since its inception over 10 years ago.I have traveled on over 25 missions . Being part of this amazing organization has allowed me the opportunity to help change the lives of so many needy people. Along the way I have met some of the most incredible ,talented ,warmhearted as well as generous medical and non medical team members . They give there time away from there family's and professional lives to those with no other means to acquire medical help.I would strongly encourage you to volunteer with Blanca's House.
This photo sums it up...fulfilling my passion with Blanca's House. Not only have I developed a love for Ecuador, I have a new family, and an unwavering appreciation for all my fellow volunteers who work unselflessly to improve the lives of others. I have also been taught the true meaning of patience, sincerity, blessings and thankfulness from a group of patients who have little more to give. That is my greatest gift.
Finding and reinventing yourself doesn't always happen when you "retire." I'm one of the lucky ones. ❤
I've had the privilege of working with Blanca's House and hundreds of outstanding volunteers over the past eight years. Each of the 20 missions I've joined has been a unique and transformative experience. Not only have we helped to change the lives of thousands, but my life has been changed in the process. Over time, after talking to so many different people from all walks of life, I see that there is very little that separates me from them. With a bit of bad luck or a few bad choices, I could easily be in crisis myself. I continue volunteering because it fills me with hope and have gained a unique worldview and life perspective.
This September i was able to volunteered for Blanca's House. Being involved with the patients care was a wonderful experience that made me love more my carrer. The joy you feels after restore your patient's health is the best reward that you can receive.
Thank you so much Blanca's House for this experience. I've grown during this time, I met many incredible and dedicated people. Thank for all the team that work during Mission 56.
Blanca's House is a family.
¡Hi! My name es Daniela Julie Pérez Vargas. I’m 18 years old, a Med student and volunteer in Blanca’s House Ecuador. I’ve been almost a month in this pretty foundation, and I’ve learned more than I imagined before. I was on Mission 56 and it consists on hernia repairs and gall bladder removals by laparoscopy; working with health professionals from different nationalities was so exciting, interesting and funny, it was really a wonderful experience. Each person I’ve meeting here has accepted me and all of them have taught me a lot in a short time. Being in Blanca’s House (as it mentioned) is like being at home… in a family.
! Thanks Blanca’s House!
I have been involved with Blanca's House for the past nine years. I was able to volunteer and take part in one of the first handful of trips and I can confidently say it has changed my life. These missions helped open my eyes to the field of medicine and ultimately led to me to pursue a career as a physician. I have been on eight medical missions with Blanca's House and can say that each comes with its own blessings. I have met so many incredible people from different walks of life all with the same goal of helping those in need. It's truly a powerful experience going on a trip with this organization because from day one, whether you have experience in medicine or not, you are treated as an equal. Our physicians, nurses, and every volunteer in between are top notch and I can only say high praises for everyone. I cannot wait until I become a physician myself so I can dedicate some time to volunteer my services to Blanca's House.
I've been part of Blanca's House for almost 10 years and have had the opportunity to travel on over 20 missions to Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Honduras. The organization is exceptional in bringing teams of compassionate medical and non-medical professionals together to improve the quality of life of those who are not fortunate enough to have access to ongoing health care. Each mission is unique, but the outcomes are the same. People who care share their gifts and their heart with the world.
I have been a volunteer with Blanca's House since 2010 and have participated in 1 or 2 missions a year since. I am never disappointed. It is an amazing charity that provides many necessary services to those who need them the most! Being involved with Blanca's House has provided me with some of the most professionally challenging cases of my career as well as the most rewarding ones. I would encourage all to volunteer with Blanca's House.
I volunteered with Blanca’s House on 3 missions. Best non-profit I’ve encountered. Ive volunteered with other organizations and they do not compare. Blanca’s House is well organized and properly run. Simply THE BEST and changing lives. My life is forever changed.
I’ve been a volunteer at Blanca’s House for almost 2 years and it’s been the greatest experience of my life. The joy you feel when you help so many people is indescribable and the best reward after days of hard work is seeing the smiles on the patients faces.
As a med student, one of your main goals is gaining experience through practice. That was the main reason I join this foundation. I thought it was going to be a pattern: going to the foundation, examining patients, translate, repeat; but that was nothing compare to the real experience. Doctors, awesome professionals and amazing people! Everybody makes you feel important. Everybody gets along and the most important thing, help is never decline to the staff and most important to the patients. I've really grown through the experiences this foundation made me live and I'm very proud of sharing my knowledge and life with this new family.
A warmhearted staff that makes you feel like you REALLY ARE part of this small but moving family. USA physicians sweating their work and still putting their souls on every single patient they see. As a local med student and volunteer, working alongside them inspire me to reach for a cause bigger than myself.
They've helped a lot of people and the ones behind this organization are very very nice and sincere in what they do. Believe me, I know.
I have made 13 medical mission trips with Blanca's House. It is amazing to see how a few number of people can make such a difference to so many lives. The free medical care provided by Blanca's House is Quality care that would be unavailable to these patients.
I just returned from a medical mission to Loja, Ecuador with Blanca's House. You would not believe such a small group of medical professionals could change so many lives in such a small length of time. In just one week they provided 15 needy patients with total knee replacements and 5 needy patients with Thyroid surgery. This team of health care professionals is outstanding.
As a person who is a new donor, I can tell you that this organization is an authentic charity that cares deeply for the people they serve. I feel blessed to know that a child somewhere sleeps without dental pain thanks to people who care to help ! As a Grandma , blessed that all of my grandchildren have what they need , I find great comfort in trying to help this nonprofit make a difference!
I went to Ecuador with a Blanca’s House team in February 2017. This organization is fantastic. It is evident how much they care for the people they are ministering to. They take special care with every detail before, during and after. It was a wonderful experience.
I have been attending 3 dental missions for Blancas house. It has been one of the most revarding experiences in my professional life as a Dental Hygienist. We are all greatfull for everyone's support. With out Blancas house Ecuadors hard work making sure we reach people in great need of dental care. Besides all the work that goes in to gather supply and set up a successful mission , one of the most revarding moments is when you see the impact of our work , and all the beautiful people we connect with that we never would have meet if it wasn't for Blancas House. Blancas house staff make sure we are all save from the time we register for a mission until we get back home . Thank you Blancas house and we are looking forward to many more Dental Missions
I volunteered with Blanca’s house for the past 3 years. It has been a wonderful experience helping kids that have no access to dental treatment . One our last mission , we visited a small town ( La Palmela) and took care of more than 300 kids in 4 Days . As a dentist , volunteering in dental missions is the highlight my professional life . Blancas house is wonderful organizing these trips and making these missions possible . The blancas staff in Ecuador are wonderful and very supportive. Looking forward to many more missions
Over the past 5 years, I have gone on over a dozen volunteer trips both domestically and internationally. I’ve worked with 4 different organizations, and I can honestly say that Blanca’s House was the most incredible organization that I have worked with thus far. Being a nursing student, this mission was a perfect fit for me. During the week, I was given the humbling opportunity to assist both nurses and surgeons in various operations to improve the quality of life of our Honduran patients. Our surgeries varied from cleft lip and palate repairs, to gall bladder removals, to hernia repairs. While I was there, I was rotating through the different units of the hospital not just observing, but actually learning how to do some of the basic things that our wonderful nurses and surgeons do on a regular basis. This trip didn’t just allow me to dip my toes in the water - it allowed me to dive head-first into what will be my career as a nurse, and for that I am eternally grateful. The trip made me even more passionate about my ultimate goal in life - to save and help as many people as I can through medicine. By the end of the week, we had done 63 procedures, positively impacting 63 lives who desperately needed our help. Being able to be a part of the team who changed these people’s lives in just a week is indescribable. I am beyond excited to work with Blanca’s House again this upcoming January in Ecuador.
I have been on 10 missions so far with Blanca's House and will be going on my 11th next week. Every mission it amazes me to see the dedication our volunteers have whether they are medical or non medical. As a student, these missions have allowed me to obtain a lot of medical experience and knowledge that I wouldn't not be able to get here. I would recommend to any student going into the medical field that they should join us on a mission and help change the lives of so many. It always amazes me how our medical staff takes their own time off from practicing here in the states to go abroad and help change the life's of many in Latin America. Blanca's House is an amazing organization with hardworking and dedicated volunteers.
Over the past 6 years I have been a junior volunteer with Blanca's House and have been apart of 3 missions so far. In this short time I have been a part of changing many peoples lives for the better along with the rest of the members of this organization. Whether it be locally here in the U.S., or around the world everyone in this wonderful organization donates their time and their compassion effort to making a difference. Being a part of this organization has sparked a major interest in pursuing a career in the medical field for me and hopefully being able to travel abroad to change the lives of many. I have been fortunate enough to meet a lot of great people and see a lot of great things while being a part of Blanca's House, and I look forward to continuing with this organization as well as attending many more missions.
Working with Blanca's House was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. Galo Burbano is an extraordinary person, and has gathered a phenomenal team of surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, physical therapists, technologists, volunteers and administrators who are so dedicated to helping underserved populations. It is truly unbelievable to see how much good this organization has done for so many people with so few resources. I volunteered for a mission in Guayaquil and it was highly organized and professionally managed from set-up to breakdown and everything in between. I felt safe the entire time. We were warmly welcomed by Galo's 18 "cousins", and loads of friends and colleauges who have been working with Blanca's House for years. It was a truly wonderful experience providing surgical services and nursing care for this community.
I have joined Blanca's House on 9 mission trips. Every trip is organized and well run.
Every participant is big hearted, giving of their time, money and skill.
It's an amazing experience to help others that you don't know and will not get anything in return for. The feeling of accomplishment and joy makes it all worth while.
I have been on 8 Blanca's House surgical mission trips. They are all very kind-hearted, generous volunteers who are very organized, work hard and accomplish a lot of great work in a short mission trip.
I will be going on many more trips with Blana's House!
