I am a gynecologist and learned about Blanca's House through my hospital. I went to El Salvador in 2009 with my wife. I was amazed at how the experience energized me to feel so good about helping needy people with their gyn issues. I felt like I did as a resident, the old idealistic attitudes of compassion and passion for servitude reawakened. The people were so beautiful and humble. I remembered why I became a physician and it carried me through my work at home with a renewed sense of purpose. I went every year after that. My wife loved it as well.
