I am Christy. My daughter Corynn age 45, is in remission with HER2+ stage 3b breast cancer. She has had Falicular and Papillary Thyroid cancer and the first cancer was Hodgkin’s lymphoma at age 15.<br>Last year my son Austin age 38, was diagnosed with mucoepidermoid carcinoma. It is extremely rare, 2 people per 100,000 get it. Therefore only 2 small trials have been done and no chemotherapy has been developed for it. He also has comorbidity having Ulcerative Colitis.<br>It is terrifying having both my children with seriousness illnesses.<br>The grandchildren are Avery12 and Wyatt 10. Austin and Amber’s children.<br>Talon, also age 10, is Corynn and Tobias’ child.<br>My 3 grandchildren have never been to Universal Studios or to Disneyland. <br>Both Amber and Tobias are educators for which I am very proud. <br>If Corynn and Austin’s cancers recur or metastasize, any chance of a thrilling trip may not be possible.<br>408 781-5813<br>

June 23, 2020I don't have a story yet....I want a story, a life to look forward everyday, give to others with a smile. But no...I am stuck in this 10x10 room hot, sick, worried, scared, confused, ill, isolated not knowing if things will get worse. I so much would like to change this story around...I know I will some day. I am 58 diagnosed with heart failure, alls thats wrong with me is my heart wont pump strong enough...My medication has blown me up I am getting use to them and started doing better was searching for housing....Now,being cooped up and no one wanting to work is not helping..I have asked for help from my doctor, case workers, senior centers, HUD, LACAD housing, alls I get is go try here..and here only for them to push me out again go here we will put you on wait list..Ive waited over a year..I am so tired, worn out, feel that I cant do anything about this....I am so tired...I am italain, thats how i got to this site...I dont know who you are but will google a place called home after this note. I was searching for housing and got the golden age affordable senior housing..they all are chineese...where do I belong???? Where do I belong?..I am italain,,where do i search???its taken me here...A place called home? I am 58,,,,not 62 or 65....I am disabled on SSDI...food stamps I need help with housing...1 bedroom larger than 10x10 or apartment or studio...or even share a 2 bedroom with another elder...Please help me if you can..my email is jeannie.perri1 at gmail, dot com. I applied for Help Activate Youth's internship program. In a short amount of time, I was placed at a local web and software design company. It was great because my hours were flexible and it worked great with my college schedule. Very quickly, I got to learn alot about web design and coding fundamentals, which helped me to explore and learn about the field of IT even more.

Save the Last Dance for Me<br>My husband&rsquo;s favorite movie is Scent of a Woman, and the night we met he told me he&rsquo;d like to learn to tango someday. Someday came sooner than he thought. The following week I asked if he would take tango lessons with me. That was pretty much it. Dancing became a new passion we shared together.<br>At our wedding three years later, we danced an Argentine tango to La Cumparsita for our First Dance. It was a special dance for a very special day. Most couples will agree that marriage holds many challenges. Our first challenge came early on. During our honeymoon in Hawaii, my husband slipped and fell, sustaining a spinal cord stroke. He became paralyzed from the waist down, permanently.<br>The full extent of that loss slowly sank in during the months following the accident. Things that use to be easy to do, now took 4 times longer. Whether that was putting on a pair of pants or getting out of the car. Forget about going over to a friend&rsquo;s house: stairs, narrow doorways, tiny bathrooms. Dancing the tango again? No way.<br>After dreaming for 12 years of one day dancing with my husband, we found Marisa and her seedling nonprofit called Infinite Flow-A Wheelchair Dance Company http://www.infiniteflowdance.org/.<br>I was so excited! Marisa is a dancer who had been temporarily paralyzed from the neck down with a rare spinal cord disease. After recovering and establishing herself as a professional ballroom dancer and instructor, she made it her mission to share the power of dance with others who are seemingly bound by their wheelchairs. Infinite Flow is showing the world that anyone can dance, especially someone in a wheelchair. And this is partner dancing, not just individual dancing. What that means to me is that I can tango with my husband once again. Bring on the ochos! In Infinite Flow&rsquo;s classes, a wheelchair dancer is paired up with an ambulatory dancer and we learn how to lead and follow with rhythm, just like any ballroom dance class.<br>Infinite Flow brought dancing back into our lives. It opened our minds to other activities we thought we would never be able to do again. Dancing makes us happy. It&rsquo;s great exercise, and we&rsquo;ve made so many great friends through these classes. If dancing did this for us, maybe it could do the same for someone else. For all these reasons, we chose to make a contribution to Infinite Flow.
