I have been honored to volunteer for this amazing organization for the past two years. I have never met such an incredible group of people and their commitment to giving back to the community.

Hillel is an amazing preschool with the most dedicated and kind teachers. Our children have grown and learned so much.

I currently stay here they are horrible they lied to us to the people who are donating they hard earned cash to help us the clients out we are not getting any assistance with that they do not offer us lyft services anymore they make us catch buses and majority of us have jobs they don't care if you are late or not they promised us housing assistance that they no longer do they kick people out left and right over the smallest things when they don't feel like they are following rules they don't believe in second chances they don't like us to be heard or voice opinions it's like we have 2 walk on egg shells around bc 1 wrong thing can cost us the constantly remind people that they are drug addicts and that they don't need us that we asked to come here the ceo doesn't even come and talk to us about any promises or any areas that the program needs to approve they use God as a cover up to con people out of money and to seem like they do so much but I'm here to tell you that it is all a facade they are nasty and evil behind these doors now there are some genuine people here that actually tries to help and that's only a handful we work 2 stay here any areas n the building that needs to be done the clients do it n of course where not looking for a free stay so we got 2 work 2 live here but with all the donations food,clothes,hygiene ,the money that yall send 2 actually help us with various things they don't spend it on us they are fraud and scammers I Love God but this place is using his name for there on benefits and pockets but the truth will come to the light n it was last long I have so many stories that I personally know and seen that I could share as far as others but if u no thinking of coming here don't sorry if I offended anyone but the truth needs to be heard now you have people who have successfully completed this program and don't great things but outta 4 years they been here only 1 has got a house through them that should tell u something and check the books n see the turn over rate and ask urself why has so many ppl gone and left over this great God fearing program but thanks for the read n I wish whoever is considering this place the best of luck

This organization advertises an abortion reversal pill which have been proven to not work and to be unsafe and unethical. Additionally, they advertise that they care about helping you make the choice that is best and describe surgical abortion on their page, however, they do not provide abortions and instead offer consultations to convince you out of terminating your pregnancy. DO NOT GO HERE if you are in need of an abortion or real medical care!!!

I started at my church as a volunteer when we hosted families and was so impressed with how this organization helped families I eventually joined the board of directors. The staff is so caring and helpful to families!! Homelessness happens for many reasons and the experience of the staff to help people navigate back to independence is truly impressive.

The Council has added a $19 dollar a month fee, per scout. Its CEO makes over 200k a year and over half of its 4 million budget goes to salaries. None of this money ever makes it to your unit where most of the work is done. They even take a portion of your fundraising money, while paying the fee.

Good baseball. Bad politics. Top down organization that treats kids unfairly based on parent relationships and completely ignores the affect it has on the kids and families.

NFWM is a great organization. I am former staff, volunteer, partner organization, and donor. NFWM provides excellent information to the broader community about getting involved in the farmworker movement and provides great support to many different farmworker organizations. I am proud to have worked so closely with NFWM!

As a single parent, when I lost my housing it was devastating. The Women's Center worked tirelessly to locate and secure, safe, temporary shelter for myself and 3 children. With their assistance, we moved from the shelter into government housing. From there I was able to locate permanent housing. I continued attending college, and now have a Master's Degree in Psychology: Human Behavior. As a result of their help, I will begin volunteering with the organization in hopes of assisting other women in need of housing. <br> <br>Randy G.

I got an unsolicited phone call on a phone in which I call Doctors at my hospital from. When I asked to be put on the "do not call" list the fundraiser person stated,"We are a not-for-profit organization and are exempt from the do not call list." She HUNG UP on me while I was trying to explain that I had to use that phone to communicate with doctors. How RUDE! <br> <br>I called them back and they put me on hold for 20 minutes. <br> <br>I also left a message and they never returned my call. <br> <br>I would NEVER support any organization that harasses me!

The North Carolina Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts is an Association established to facilitate the advancement of local Soil & Water Conservation Districts and their programs. Most of these programs are educational in nature. The Association reaches over 85,000 school children each year with education programs. There is a 3rd grade poster contest, 4th grade poster contest, 5th grade poster contest, 6th grade poster contest, 6th grade electronic slide show competition, 6th grade essay contest, 7th grade speech contest, 8th grade speech contest, 9th grade electronic poster contest. In addition there is a middle school Envirothon contest and a high school Envirothon contest. These educational contests go from 3rd grade to 12th grade. There is also a summer Resource Conservation Workshop for high school students where they study: soils, forestry, wildlife, wetlands, current issues, energy and related resource areas. There are also environmental field days held by about 50 of these local Districts where they help to educate elementary and middle school students on natural resources topics. some of these local Districts also do classroom presentations on soil and water resources. some of these programs probably get some 2nd grade students.

Since shortly after I received a diagnosis of breast cancer, my husband began receiving calls from "Breast Cancer Relief Foundation" for donations. The first year my husband did donate to this "charity" and then began receiving constant calls from other "charities" that are part of this groups "Network" Children's Cancer Dream Foundation among others. These calls became so frequent that I finally asked them to stop calling ! <br>Once I began turning down their requests for donations, they began calling with their number "masked" or using fake numbers ( those which you cannot connect with if you try calling back) and insisting on speaking to "Mr.Dennis" (my husbands first name) and stating they're calling from "Public Appeal" inferring that they're with a public opinion poll and not giving the true nature of the call until I pressed the issue ! After receiving 4 calls this week alone, and returning a "Pledge" slip from the "Childrens Cancer Dream Network" for a donation, I've again instructed them, once again to take us OFF their "Tap a Sap" (my term) list and STOP CALLING .... after finding out from Guide Star that only 1 or 2 cents of each donated dollar actually goes to "assist" cancer patients, we will NEVER donate to them or their affiliates again.... Nearly every summer for three decades, my family has visited the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores while vacationing. Now we visit with our grandchildren when they come for our "beach week". It is always such a delight, for grownups and children alike! Highlights include the "shark tank dives", when divers enter the huge tank and show and tell about different sea creatures. Another is the octopus, which one year came down from its perch, suction cups on the glass, to look my three-year-old grandson in the eye. Enthralling! If you are traveling on the NC coast, don't miss the aquarium!

AnimalKind is providing wonderful services for the less fortunate animals and their people in North Carolina!

PLM Families Together is a unique because it can accept any family into the program - single dads and teenage sons are turned down by other agencies and given high priority at PLMFT. In addition to temporary housing it provides life skill classes and continuing support as families move into permanent housing. <br> <br>I have been involved in awareness campaigns, life skill classes and several donation drives to support clients with items that are not covered by food stamps. I recently started working with the staff to improve volunteer communication and have found everyone to be very committed.

I volunteer at IFFS every month, usually sorting food or filling backpacks for their Backpack Buddy program. It is amazing how much food comes in and out of their facility every day! There is always something to do and I always get a great workout lifting cans instead of free weights. <br> <br>The backpacks are given out at local schools on Fridays for students that receive free school lunches to take home and have meals over the weekend. They bring the empty backpacks back on Monday and the cycle starts over. The last time I was there my group of 7 assembled 200 bags in about 90 minutes. <br> <br>After the recent tornadoes IFFS handed out food to anyone that came without any questions or forms - a true blessing while everyone was still talking to insurance companies, FEMA, etc. <br> <br>They have other programs that I have not been involved in like a cooking program that prepares hot food while preparing the unemployed for new careers in the restaurant industry.

Four years ago I did an internet search for cheer coaching positions in the Raleigh area and I stumbled across a Pop Warner organization known as the North Raleigh Bulldogs. That fall I was fortunate enough to coach the Flag cheer squad, the same cheer squad that cheered for my son's football team. This was our family's first year as Bulldogs and this Fall will be our 4th year with this amazing association! In addition to coaching cheer for one year I have served as team parent for two years and I'm in my second year as the Cheer Commissioner. I couldn't be more proud of our organization and what we do for the boys and girls in our community who decide to be a part of our football and cheer program. With our help, these kids learn that hard work, dedication, teamwork, leadership, motivation and determination is what it takes to be a successful team and it teaches them fundamentals that they will carry with them now and forever. Without the committed coaching staff our organization is lucky enough to have, this all volunteer organization wouldn't be what it is today and I'm proud to be a parent, volunteer and board member and hope to be for many years to come!

What is the first item of business when you arrive at a new campsite? You pitch your tent. It is hard to imagine eating, drinking, bathing, etc., without doing that first. One of my parents and many of my patients would have enjoyed healthier lifestyles, if they could have first established a safe home. CASA helps homeless or disabled persons find safe, affordable housing. A seasoned, sensitive, and client-centered administrative staff requires only a small proportion of the operating budget to draw down federal, state, county and city grants and funds to develop and maintain properties that provide affordable, safe homes.

Working with the staff, house leaders, and other volunteers with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County is a great way to get out in the local community and help another family try to make a better life for themselves. Blessed with the opportunity to live in a nation of such abundance, it's wonderful to be able to work along side others and offer a hand up to our neighbors in need. The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Foundation exists to financially support the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. I have been a client at the College's Teaching Hospital and was impressed with the compassionate care my dogs received. The Foundation is a great cause if you are looking to give back to your local community!
