ChildSafe has incredibly dedicated frontline and support staff who care deeply about the mission and about each other. Unfortunately, the work environment is heavily impacted by leadership practices that rely on cronyism and nepotism rather than experience or qualifications. Key leadership roles are filled based on personal relationships, which creates instability, poor decision‑making, and a culture where staff expertise is undervalued. Turnover is extremely high, and many employees leave because concerns about leadership, resource handling, and internal processes are not meaningfully addressed. Issues raised to leadership or the Board rarely result in visible action, leaving staff feeling unsupported and unheard. The mission work is important, but the organizational culture makes it difficult for employees to do their jobs effectively or sustainably.

I have been involved with San Antonio Junior Forum (SAJF) since 1999. SAJF awards grants each year to other non-profits in our community, along with yearly scholarships to local high school seniors. Serving our community with service projects has helped many organizations to help San Antonio and surrounding area residents.

volunteer monthly and am always impressed by the enthusiasm of the employees and the care they give the cats and dogs in their care. The facility is always clean and the workers cleaning the kennels clearly know the dogs and cats and are committed to caring for them. <br> <br>It was particularly heartening the day I stopped by to walk a dog and a dog was being adopted. Everyone stopped and cheered on the folks who were adopting!

My son loves CAMP so much! He's been attending for nine years and the counselors and staff are amazing and he gets to do so many activities he doesn't get to do elsewhere. He has so much confidence when he goes to CAMP and when he's there, he's truly in his happy place! Because of CAMP, my son understands there are people out there who care about him!

I was blessed to be able to sit on the Board of Directors for Brighton Center and learned so much about their programs and what they were doing for the children and their families. It is an amazing organization that sees every child with the ability to accomplish anything they choose to do no matter what their current situation may be. The entire team is dedicated to the success of these children and their families.

Crosspoint staff management holds none of it's core values for Residents who are just released from federal prison and served there time, continuing to allow such a place to run up tax dollars without correcting management's obligations will always be a failure to the community itself as they only treat these residents as a paycheck and not people who can be valuable to the society I've witnessed myself the poor attention to detail that's offered which is outdated opportunities promised and child-like respect given to residents who should be fed positive energy to sustain motivation and interest to push through what could create model citizens I was so distraught of the poor attentiveness of staff that I will be protesting changes within this facility or that it forfeits there federal contract to house released inmates who deserves a chances to be great<br>

Adult and Teen Challenge saved my life and many many others. I read all the posts about so called abuse and all that... NOT TRUE. Absolutely the opposite. They present the Gospel as the answer to life controlling issues. While also teaching life skills that many did not grow up learning. They love on you as well as showing you how to live as a Christian in society. Anyone has the right to make the decision to be there. I have seen hundreds of lives changed in people going through the program as well as families restored. The people that are leaving bad reviews and telling crazy lies are the ones who were probably convicted by the Holy Spirit to change and they refused to do so. God is the one in charge there. Ill just say this.. If you are really ready to change and you are tired of being chained to fear and addictions of ALL KINDS. Call them.. That place truly shows the love and acceptance of Jesus. But get ready to put 100% into it. NO CHANGE IS EASY.. Question is, Do you want to let go or not? It's worth it for the Peace you will find in Christ.

My son has been an inpatient at Clarity twice within three years, the most recent being the beginning of this month. The first time I didn't know what to expect and didn't ask many questions because the services presented by the website and the intake employee, daily individual and group counseling, sounded perfect so I was very hopeful. I met with him and his therapist once during his four-day stay and upon his discharge was excited about us working together on the things he said he learned. Unfortunately, after less than a week it was as if he had never been to Clarity and turns out I hadn't gotten the full story regarding what kind of therapy he had received while an inpatient from either the therapist nor my son because after four days away from home he would have agreed to anything and promise everything just to get back. <br><br>After a few years however, I was at the end of my rope and desperately needed help again so I decided to take him back and give them another try. This time though I made sure they had the full scope of how bad the behavior was and how it was escalating to a point where I was worried for the safety of myself and other family members in the home. At the end of the second day I asked how he liked his therapist and how it had gone that day. His response was that he hadn't met yet with the doctor or therapist and so far he had one "group" therapy session which consisted of the boys introducing themselves and playing basketball and/or volleyball for a couple of hours and watching a couple of movies. He also said they asked him if he thought he was ready to go home yet to which he replied, "No. Things are really bad and I want to get some help." I was so angry at them but very proud of him so kept my cool for the duration of the conversation. First thing the next morning (day three) I called to get some answers but they said they would have someone call me back, which they did but I missed the call because I was in a meeting. For the remainder of the work day I called and left several messages for the therapist who didn't get back to me until the afternoon of the next day, which was day four. During this conversation she said she had spoken with my son extensively (they met once the day before for a period of about 20 minutes) and they decided on different strategies to help him cope with his anger and he learned different exercises to keep his anger from escalating. She also said he was very open during the group sessions and they were impressed by his progress so he would be discharged the following afternoon, day five. I shared with her the fact that my son called me earlier that day, which he did, was crying, and was worried they were going to make him leave before he was ready. I told her that both she AND the doctor needed to have a more thorough session with my son before deciding to discharge him because if the child himself knows he can't yet cope with his emotions and actions well enough to return home without problems, then maybe he needed to see another doctor for a second opinion. This just angered her - which she tried to hide - and said that my son was answering all the questions that discharge is based upon appropriately and they don't have any further medical reason to keep him as an inpatient. I was angry. I was almost livid myself and I do not have anger issues. <br><br>Despite being angry, I was more disappointed that Clarity Child Guidance Center, a place many parents turn to for help with their troubled children when they are feeling alone, doesn't work very hard to even pretend to help those children who are literally begging them for it as my son was. In my opinion they function as an overpriced baby-sitting service where kids and parents can take a time out from each other for a few days while their batteries recharge and they find the strength to start the chaos all over again. Shame on you, Clarity, and shame on me for giving them another chance instead of working harder to find a better solution.

Guardian House is a very necessary service; because only 2 of its kind exists in San Antonio; making a very good opportunity for more safe places like it to start up; and force guardian house to lose donations until it treats people with respect at all times. 1. my first day to sign up; a police officer yanks opens the door; in the most aggressive and hostile way possible; then visually scans me up and down; like I've done some thing; wrong and then let's me in. 2. I offer to do as the judge; told me to do; and the front desk gets confused; as to why I want to pay for both parties of both visits; 3. Then I start asking questions; and the more questions I asked; the MORE the front desk worker (s) become more suspicious about all my questions. 4. I started getting annoyed; by the entire staffs; guilty of something behaviors towards me ; coming from every single person working in that building. 5. Policy is what the NON-PROFT hides behind; when state rules say nothing about when a person is to arrive or when a person is to leave; and state rules say nothing about paying $10 every five minutes extra money when someone shows up to early or late; 6. The POLICY the this NON-PROFIT hides behind when a police officer lady; who is using her badge to force me out of the halls while I look out windows; waiting for my children to leave. 7. Then when I agreed to this Donation run businesses terms to leaving first and then letting the children leave after me; they switched on me at the last minute and tried to blame it on me as if it was my misunderstanding. 8. The entire staff must deal with criminals all day so they treat every single male; that uses the (Public benefit donation dependent non-profit guardian house;) like they are horrible people; 9.The entire staff never returns phone calls and all private voice mails are heard by the entire afraid and suspicious of you front desk; 10. the police that become security for guardian on my visits days to need to be fired from any an all police forces and treaded like I was treated. 11. My truth telling about all the mistakes guardian house made during my $300+ donation to use the non-profit business at the judges orders is not over. I will truth tell about guardian house forever. The donors need to know guardian house makes many unnecessary rude wrong and unhealthy behaviors towards some customers and should stop. The rudest people in guardian house are all the front desk; the hostile and ready to hurt someone unjustifiably police lady and man that I saw. Use kidshare its better and no police that I know of are going to be using the powers (the forth branch of government (citizenship) gave them) against you. I will leave a review on guardian house every 3+ weeks until I get a return of my money; that I spent to be treated this way) And I will not even have to lie about it. ??If only I could send this review to the sponsors of guardian house.?? I think I will do this now.

This is a great organization! They do so much to protect and preserve the Mexican-American heritage of the city. I think the town would look like cookie-cutter generic suburb if it wasn't for Esperanza. They also stand up for the little guy, no matter who they are. I give them a 100 percent!

NAMI San Antonio helped me take a new direction many years ago when my family members were struggling. Through the classes and support groups I found help and hope for myself and them. I learned to be a better advocate for my family's care. <br>Afterward, it just seemed natural to share and help someone else so I began teaching in the family education programs. The community is blessed to have NAMI SA working toward improved access to effective mental health services for those so challenged and their families.

It's no wonder that many of us admit defeat, give up, and stop trying. Then it falls on our family members and loved ones to convince us to try again. But their pleas often come across as lectures. The Justice Foundation is an incredible organization that my ministry partners with. It is an honor to work with them in all that they are doing to restore LIFE in our nation through Operation Outcry, The Moral Outcry, the Center Against Forced Abortion and Abortion Hurts God Heals. They also represent me in many high profile cases to the US Supreme Court as a woman hurt by abortion. We will continue to support them and pray for them daily in any way that we can. My daughter has been in the program for about a year and a half. She has been matched with an awesome Big! The staff are very caring and invested, and they represent the positives of non profit organizations. We are so happy to be a part of this program.

Every day, sometimes three times a day, I receive calls from someone identifying themselves as “Medicare Advisors” as part of your organization. Every call I block the caller... every day the call is from a different number and “Advisor “. STOP CALLING ME! This has been going on for MONTHS!

The San Antonio Choral Society serves an important and growing constituency in the San Antonio area. Members are given the opportunity to perform and participate in great choral works as well as collaborate with some of the finest musicians that the city has to offer. Audiences eagerly attend the high-quality performances and consistently offer rave reviews. As a music enthusiast, I especially appreciate the thoughtful programming and dedicated leadership by the executive staff. The San Antonio Choral Society brings together the best qualities of what it means to be in San Antonio.

This group is fantastic. Creating spaces that help city people get in touch with nature, helping both children and adults. So many people are so attached to their electronic devices these days, GSA has great programs that give people an opportunity to explore the natural world around us. Get back to nature, support this wonderful group.

I am a volunteer doctor at I Care's Vision Center. The staff is tremendous, treating our patients and other volunteers extremely well. They are very compassionate, professional and efficient. The clinic is very well equipped and there is lots of help. All of the volunteer doctors are excellent and very dedicated. I am blessed to be a part of I Care San Antonio

This a great passionate non-profit that is all in for clients' advocacy as well as their mission to end sexual violence.

The Children's Shelter of San Antonio is a fantastic organization and I was so impressed with the facility, the staff, and the management of it. I can't think of a better organization to support. The facilities and program for the children are outstanding. The staff are very caring, loving, and supportive. This is the best Shelter and deserves everyone's support and charitable contributions.

I look forward to the 2014 Christmas concert schedule. The SA Brass concerts really set the tone for my holiday season! Their great sound and musical message for the holidays is encouraging. Thanks SA Brass!

The following statement is the personal opinion of this reviewer based on the facts that are available to me at this time: <br> <br>When first founded about 25 yrs ago, SALHA was well thought-out and it's operations were well run and on the up-and-up. However, over time, the current Chairman of the Board drove out many dissenting members... members who became disenchanted with its operations. In recent years, this organization has not followed its own By-Laws and Charter, and is in non-compliance with its 501(c)3 non-profit IRS status. There have been reports of mismanagement; refusal on the part of SALHA officers to disclose to members the meeting minutes, financial reports, and memberhip lists; election fraud; mis-appropriation and misuse of donations and/or funds that were acquired on the basis of non-profit status, but aledgedly used for personal benefit; and various other unsavory practices. Such behavior would be tantamount to corruption. The President and other elected officers do nothing to correct the unacceptable behavior perpetuated by the current Chairman of the Board. Therefore, it is hereby recommended that an independent audit of SALHA be performed, and investigation by appropriate authorities at the IRS be conducted to determine if their 501(c)3 status is still appropriate, or if it should be revoked.

I have been volunteering at SAMM for three years and it is just a wonderful blessing to be involved with an agency that has such a profound impact on so many families and their children. This ministry really works to empower families that are experiencing homelessness to become fully self sufficient and meet their dreams. <br> <br>At SAMM, they support families who happen to be going through homelessness, homelessness is not a label or a condition here, it is a situation that many families may experience, but with the right support and encouragement will never experience again. <br> <br>I hope others can come join us in this life saving ministry. <br>
