I received a scholarship from Lifetime Foundation as a birth mother. I hadn't immediately decided to go back to school after placing my child up for adoption, but as time passed, I wanted to make a change in my life. Even though I had gone through another agency for my adoption, it meant a lot that Lifetime still wanted to help support me financially throughout my education. I think the value and worth they show birth mothers is incredible, and I genuinely appreciate their support.

For nearly 40 years SYRCL has led the way in connecting the Yuba River watershed and its communities. Highly regarded by state, federal and regional partners, SYRCL has talented staff, sound fiscal management, and committed members. It's meadow and river corridor restoration projects are providing water supply and habitat resilience to an important Sierra river system.

When my husband and I retired and moved to Nevada City in 2015, we didn't know anyone in the community. We were told about an upcoming concert featuring the famous violinist, Joshua Bell. We were surprised and delighted that InConcert Sierra hosted such world class musicians in this small community! The 3rd Sunday afternoon concerts are always high quality performances of classical music in an intimate venue. We have made many new friends by attending concerts, after-concert inners, and other ICS events. See you at a future concert! <br>Denis & Barbara Drew

I have volunteered for this non-profit for twenty years now. It is the best kept secret in Nevada County, helping the blind and visually impaired in Nevada and Placer Counties stay in their homes and out of institutions. They provide transportation and support groups. They also act as an advocate in many situations. <br> <br>This is my non-profit of choice because they serve a community with purpose and love doing it!

I was a member of The Friendship Club. I can honestly say that they saved my life... they made me who I am today. When I came to them I was an little 8th grader who was shy, wanted nothing but to die, felt as though no one would ever want me, felt as though I would have zero to no future in the world... I didn't have a woman figure in my life for me to look up to. My mother had abandoned me when I was younger. My father was doing his best, but there are many things that a father cannot do. Mary Collier and Jennifer Singer took me in and showed me what successful women were like. They showed me how to eat healthy. But the thing that will never leave me is they showed me that I was worth something. They believed in me to the point that I could never deny that someone cared about what happened in my day to day life. They gave me the confidence in myself that I needed to go on and apply myself... I carried that confidence with me through high school... through college... through my masters in business.... and still today in my day to day life as a Cost Analyst for the Boeing Company. I know that if The Friendship Club hadn't found me and brought me in my life would be a nightmare compared to the life I have now. It is because of the amazing work that they do that I was able to have a chance at life. It is because of them that i am the successful adult that I am today! Thank you Friendship Club!!
