I started volunteering here about a year and a half ago and I wish I had found this place sooner. Who knew I’d enjoy scooping poop so much. I also get to interact with animals I wouldn’t normally like prairie dogs and Dagus. And I have learned more about the quirks and likes of goats and pigs. I know goats can be crazy. Dave and Lisa are the best caregivers. They love each and every animal that comes thru their gates. They are very knowledgeable about the animals and I have learned so much from them. I don’t think they ever get a break from all there is to do at the sanctuary. I know feeding, cleaning and enjoying the animals is the best therapy in the world and it’s free. It just costs you your time and you will be glad you volunteered.

Recently my mother died unexpectedly necessitating leaving my puppy with a friend until I could put her affairs in order. The puppy went missing/stolen one afternoon when my friend was gone. My friend who is suffering from a terminal illness did not tell me of Paws disappearance until I went to his house to get him. .<br>I immediately started searching for paws. I was/AM upping my offer to 2,000 Dollars for information leading to the safe return of Paws my black miniature schnauzer I have since learned that the Lakewood ranch humane society had him. But adopted him out. I offered to replace paws with a 1,800 AKC pick of the litter puppy from the same breeder plus pay for all shots and registration fees to replace Paws. now I am ALSO WILING TO PAY RANSOM TO GET HIM BACK I do not believe that the Lakewood ranch humane society even told the person who has my dog of the offer I made. They have refused to tell me who has my dog or confirm the person holding Paws knows that my offer exists.<br>I beg anybody who is giving money to this organization to stop giving them anything until Paws is returned to me. Please add your voice to ours by calling the Humane Society Directly and tell them to inform the person who has my dog of my offer ! !

Such a great and caring group of volunteers. This all volunteer all animal foster based rescue and rehab helps unwanted and abandoned pet and farm animals, trains service dogs, and works with veterans for animal assisted volunteer activities.

Giving Back 941 is a wonderful local charity who helps raise funds for individuals in need as well as other nonprofits and charities in our community like our little farm and exotic animal sanctuary! Thank you for all you do, Giving Back 941.

Giving Alliance of Myakka is an amazing organization that helps our local community in many ways.

Donte’s Den and its Founder, Marsha Panuce, is the one place and the one person I trust with the most precious part of my life: my dogs. I learned about their lifetime care program from watching Marsha and the Den’s public service announcements on her Saturday morning show, Animal Outtakes. My dogs and I are now part of her lifetime care program. If something happens to me and I am temporarily or permanently unable to care for my fur-family, Marsha will take them in and give them a home for the rest of their life or until I am able to bring them home again. She and her staff will take in my dogs- and stay with them! - the next time we are threatened with a hurricane and I need a safe haven for them. I did not make this decision lightly. I did extensive research to make sure the private, non-profit foundation was financially sound. I had my friend and legal counsel speak with a board member and even come to The Den to meet Marsha and tour the facility. He came back with the most positive report – and he isn’t even a “dog person”. I spoke with people who know Marsha both professionally and personally; I heard and felt the respect and love people had for her work, her professionalism and her dedication to the most vulnerable of the dogs in her care. I met with her and her staff and brought my dogs to meet her and tour the facility. My littlest dog climbed in her lap and stayed there until we had to leave. I now have peace of mind knowing my dogs will never end up on the street or in unsafe, unloved conditions. Thank heaven Marsha insists on taking a personal role every day over the facility and especially the fate of the animals in her care. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

After I lost my Babygirl kitty to FKD my house seemed so empty without her. We'd been together for 19 years. I asked Cindy from Tanks.inc to find me a long hair black female kitten. In a few day she sent me a picture of a beautiful black kitten. I named her Raven and she's one of the sweetest most beautiful black kitties ever. I couldn't have found a better kitty myself. I'm so thankful for Cindy finding her for me. A house is not a home without a black kitty!!

I am very thankful to be working as a volunteer at this organization. Not only have I had a chance to work alongside incredible and dedicated people, but I have been able to assist the organization in the design of the website. Shining Warrior is constantly looking to find new ways to expand, as well as new projects and services to offer to those in need. I am a Shining Warrior - proud to be called a Shining Warrior! <br> <br>
