Upon retirement, following many years of working in humanitarian aid, we decided to turn our efforts to the conservation of the 'big cats'. With our modest resources, we were hoping to identify organizations for which we might make a difference, and after researching on-line we came across the Mongolia-based Snow Leopard Conservation Foundation (SLCF) - a member organization of the Snow Leopard Trust. Both organizations have been highly open, informative and impressive. They not only work to protect snow leopards in their known habitats, but collaborate closely with local communities to devise novel ways of encouraging co-existence, as well as fostering greater scientific knowledge on which to base their conservation efforts.
Snow Leopard Trust is truly committed to their goal in saving those beautiful wild cats. Their range of action enables to reach many, whether they're French citizens like me, living in a big city and feeling otherwise a little useless in terms of acting for the environment, saving endangered species, but also to the local population coexisting with snow leopards.
Keep up the good work guys ! You opened my eyes to some essential actions that need to be carried out out there.
What I especially love about Snow Leopard Trust is how they champion these animals that many people don't even know exist. All wildlife is vital to the planet and their individual ecosystems. I trust this organization is doing their best in sharing knowledge, study results, helping the local communities, and of course taking measures to protect the magnificent snow leopard.

The Snow Leopard Trust is so obviously passionate about their work and they very effectively inspire others to get passionate about saving these fabulous big cats of central Asia. They provide through their newsletters fantastic images of snow leopards caught on remote cameras, stories of the rangers who spend weeks and months hiking in very rugged and isolated terrain to gather data about the cats, stories of women's cooperatives initiated by the trust for income generation and young adult programs that provide invaluable education about the environment and conservation. And on and on.....Truly an inspiring non profit that is playing a very significant and critical role in helping to save not only the snow leopard, but the land the cats and other animals of the region rely on for their survival.
They are a legitimate animal conservation organization. They are on the forefront of protecting Snow Leopards throughout their habitat. They have boots on the ground and work tirelessly to help locals do better when dealing with predation and Snow Leopards, while helping them to raise money for protections, insurance, and helping change opinions of Snow Leopards.
I have been supporting this organization for a few years. They are really helping the local people find ways to protect their livestock from predation so they don't feel they have to kill the snow leopards. They also are training and paying locals to be rangers to protect the snow leopards as well as helping with the sale of local crafts to provide more income to the families. It's tough work in a very rugged corner of the world.

The Snow Leopard Trust has been a favorite non-profit of mine for many years. As someone who lives below the poverty line for a single person in the U.S. I never donate before I research the organization. I found the Snow Leopard Trust is highly rated by Charity Navigator. They take direct donations which go toward funding conservation work for Snow Leopards as well as selling fair-trade items whose manufacture and sale help support trades people of the Himalayas and protection of Snow Leopards. I see my donations and purchases as money well spent and a complete win-win.

All wild cats are important to me, and the health of our Earth, and must be protected. Snow Leopard Trust does great and needed work. When I donate I am confident that my donation is going where I want my money to go - to the preservation of Snow Leopards.
I am disabled with an extremely limited income. Before I give to a charity and/or non-profit I do my homework. I research the ratings of the organizations on Charity Navigator and CharityWatch. If one or both give the charity or non-profit a high rating then I know I can donate with confidence. Charity Navigator gives the Snow Leopard Trust a very high rating.
The Snow Leopard Trust is an incredible charity that is dedicated to ensuring the survival of wild snow leopards, their prey and the entire ecosystem. I have been a donor for nearly 20 years. Over that time I have seen the team implement many initiatives that have benefited the entire ecosystem including the people who call snow leopard territories home. The incredible work of this amazing charity has used donor money responsibly and have helped to ensure longevity of this incredible species. Though Donaship, I intend to be a part of this work for as long as I am able. Thankyou so much for your hard work Snow Leopard Trust!
The Snow Leopard Trust's commitment to their work is obvious and impressive. Their dedication to the protection of Snow Leopards and the improvement of the lives of human populations in their habitat is clearly visible in their work and accomplishments. From training rangers to monitoring Snow Leopard populations with remote cameras, they are a force to be reckoned with.
International Snow Leopard Trust opened my eyes to a little-known animal in a remote area of the world - the magnificent snow leopard. The Trust’s deep knowledge of this elusive creature, and the threats it faces are so valuable and the organization does a terrific job of explaining so many details about the leopard, how it lives and what it needs to survive. The Trust has a clear steadfast commitment to protecting these beautiful cats and educating people about them.

The work that Snow Leopard Trust does on the ground - in difficult circumstances - is truly amazing!
I've been a supporter of International Snow Leopard Trust for more than a decade now, because they consistently do great work. From educating people to the threats these large cats face, to tracking and studying them in their natural habitat, to working toward greater sustainability by helping the communities that live near the cats' habitat adapt and successfully live side-by-side, I always know my donations are making a difference.
Wonderful organization that is doing critically important work protecting and researching snow leopards and their habitat. The snow leopard would be in a far more perilous situation without them.

The top organization helping to protect snow leopards and their habitats. Can't say enough good things about this organization. Many years of dedication and results. We still have snow leopards across their extended range thanks to these guys.
Real on-the-ground conservation. Engaging with locals to help them value wildlife, not see it as a threat.
The Snow Leopard Trust is a model nonprofit, working on all aspects of conservation for a landmark species and its habitat, also focusing on the critical role the local humans play in keeping this species thriving. They also communicate in a most engaging fashion with their supporters. Through education, human-animal interaction management, and supporting scientists and the local community supporters across Central Asia, snow leopards have many fans and a fighting chance thanks to Snow Leopard Trust.

The Snow Leopard Trust is one of my favorite nonprofits. In saving these magnificent animals, they engage the local community, alleviating their concerns, empowering them to make livings while sharing space with the animals around them. The Snow Leopard Trust gets my highest rating for celebrating the Snow Leopard, its habitat, the local community, and the people that work so hard to save it.
This organisation is working wonders for the Snow Leopards, and it is especially the intelligent, structural and thoughtful way of going about their business that I adore. They are not only looking at the preservation of the Snow Leopard itself but also taking into consideration their impact on their human environment, and as such working out ways to help the local population and eliminate as much as possible the potential hazardous effects of the animal on the humans. I think such an approach is key for a longterm and durable preservation of the Snow Leopard. The Snow Leopard Trust is doing a truly wonderful job and I love them for it.
I stumbled upon this organization back in June 2023, when my obsession with snow leopards grew exponentially. Initially, I thought Snow Leopard Trust (SLT) was simply doing its goal in fighting for the conservation of the cats, but I thought this non-profit organization took a step further in educating the public not just about the animals, but the cultures and nations in which snow leopards inhabit and are depicted. SLT, joined with Snow Leopard Enterprises (SLE), even promotes the connection between the local women and snow leopard conservation through art and handmade skills. I am a frequent donor (monthly) to this lovely organization and I do hope more can join to fight for the conservation of snow leopards and other wildlife.
I have been a follower and fan of the Snow Leopard Trust for at least 10 years. I love them for several reasons and started following them because I love big cats and was fascinated by the Snow Leopard stories. Then I realized how much the trust has been doing to ensure that the cats and the indigenous peoples of High Asia can co-exist. I try to share these solutions so that everyone will learn and follow them. We cannot survive if we don't all work to understand our inter-relation with the environment and wildlife. Many groups are working to help with this but the Snow Leopard Trust has earned my love and support over and over.

I have been a supporter of the Snow Leopard Trust for over 7 years and my only regret is that I cannot afford to donate more. But I can also speak up and share their work. One of the most valuable things they do is to work to allow the big cats to live in harmony with the people of their habitat. Insurance plans have been implemented to help the local people recover when a snow leopard kills one of the livestock. The Trust has also done great work in studying the leopards without infringing on their habitat. Although the big cats don't realize it, there are wonderful people watching out for them.
I applaud their dedication utilizing science to create innovative and effective programs aimed at improving the integrity of life and human-snow leopard co-existence.
For a relatively smaller conservation organization as compared to the multi-national charitable groups, the Snow Leopard Trust has invested a lot of careful planning and hard work to make a remarkable impact in a significant environmental habitat: Earth's Third Pole of Upper Asia. Benefiting both the the human communities and the iconic wildlife that live in this unique and challenging habitat, this group has concentrated funds not in building offices and pursuing wasteful marketing - but for on the ground support for field work and local educational efforts that is changing lives and encouraging folks to strive for better solutions for facing the current and coming climate disruptions. .
I have always appreciated how deeply informative their publications (both online and in print) are, and how creatively they operate to achieve their conservation goals. I very much like that they work with the local communities to find ways to protect the snow leopards as well as the herders' and villagers' interests.
It's simply great to see the latest International Snow Leopard Trust updates in this most enigmatic of wild cat species.
I have been following the International Snow Leopard Trust for several years, and am very impressed with their work. Their strategy of engaging local villages in conservation efforts creates a strong partnership for protecting the snow leopards. I also love the beautiful creations offered in cottage industry to raise awareness and create income for local people who are sharing habitat with the snow leopards. I have shared the work of this excellent organization with my young students, and they are now interested in preserving snow leopard habitat!
I’ve been obsessed with snow leopards since I was in the third grade and got randomly assigned them for a project. They’re beautiful and elusive and incredibly impressive. That’s why I’ve been supporting the Snow Leopard Trust for a long time- to help save my favorite animal. Now that I’m older and earning a degree in ecology, I have even more respect for what the Snow Leopard Trust does. Their work not only benefits the leopards, but also the ecosystem as a whole AND the local people. That kind of locally driven, socially conscious conservation is the best way we have to save animals and our planet.
Whenever I donate I get a thank you ... simple, basic but shows deep appreciation for money from a senior citizen. Class outfit.
We have been donors to the Snow Leopard Trust for many years now. We are extremely interested in the health of ecosystems and the quality of life for all animals, but the snow leopards are at the center of our hearts! We believe so much in the work the Snow Leopard Trust has been and is doing in incredibly innovative and technological ways, and working so closely with the peoples of these regions, that we have included the Snow Leopard Trust in our personal Trust as a benefactor--so much is our love for the ecological health and sustainability for this beautiful globe we share in harmony with the animals.
International Snow Leopard Trust does amazing work. I was already a supporter but at the height of the pandemic, when I was isolating in southern Seattle, they put on a virtual fundrasing event that really cemented my good opinion of them. It was so good. Not super high-tech but fascinating. I watch a bunch of the talks including researchers huddled in a tent somewhere near snowleopard country and reporting on their work. There were some great video reports about their painstaking work in the field tracking snow leopard populations. And the way they partner with local conservationsist and work with them to get local herding populations in Mongolia onside is fantastic. Many locals are now working to save cats they used to perceive as a threat. During that particular virtual event they even had some seesions geared to young people, which were both educational and fun. Their work is effective and important and I support them wholeheartedly.
I have been a supporter of Snow Leopard Trust for over 15 years. It's amazing what they have accomplished working with the local people and building their trust and support.

I've supported the International Snow Leopard Trust for a number of years now. Their dedication to the Snow Leopard's has kept me coming back year after year to support them. I just became a monthly donor and am proud to have joined Team Snow Leopard. There are so many success stories, gorgeous field pictures of the cats, and interesting news about the specific scientists and projects unfolding.
I love this organization. The do great conservation work with snow leopards by collaborating with local communities, the way ALL conservation work should happen. They also do a great job of keeping donors informed with well-done newsletters and an annual event. Wish I could give more!!

I am confident when I give to Snow Leopard Trust that my money is going to help not just the animals I love, but the people who live with these magnificent creatures.
I love Snow Leopard Trust! They are doing amazing work throughout the world, trying to conserve a beautiful element in our world. Through their emails, I get information about snow leopards, their habitats, parts of the world I've never dreamt about. I also love that you can purchase handmade items from the local peoples of the snow leopard habitats.
Snow leopards are beautiful and rare. They live in remote regions of central Asia and ae difficult to study. The Snow Leopard Trust has been a leader in developing conservation strategies for these creatures. Thanks to their work, we know much more about the numbers and disposition of the snow leopards.
Very skilled team and wonderful project for the species, the environment and the local population!!!
At the moment it's difficult not to be anxious about the environment. When it comes to snow leopards however, I know that they are in safe hands through the work of the Snow Leopard Trust. It's not easy to protect one of the world's most elusive cats in such wondrous but inhospitable conditions. The approach of the Snow Leopard Trust seems to be twofold: learn everything there is to know about snow leopards so we can better protect them and convince local people living alongside snow leopards that they can be an ally, not an enemy. It is both inspiring and practical. And it works.
During the pandemic, the Snow Leopard Trust organised a 24 hour online event with fun activities, presentations of their research, interviews with team members and lots and lots of pictures of fluffy snow leopards. It was a fantastic experience and I'm proud to say I managed to stay awake for the whole thing. Every month I receive an update on their work, accompanied by more snow leopard pictures. It always brightens up my day.
To live on the same planet as an animal that is as charismatic, graceful and beautiful as the snow leopard is an immense privilege, and I'm so glad that the Snow Leopard Trust exists to ensure that future generations will enjoy that privilege too.
I've started a tradition in my family where I give a snow leopard cub to each new baby born. One was recently given to a baby that needed to remain in a NIC unit for a few weeks. I was happy to see the baby doing well enough to leave the NIC unit to a baby bed where the snow leopard cub was with the baby, and she was happy to cuddle with it.
I'm happy to know what joy the cubs brings to the babies, and how the purchase of the cubs helps the snow leopard trust with their wonderful work to help with the snow leopards' survival.
Needless to say I will continue this tradition. We will have a new bundle of joy coming to our family in March.
Thank you for your work.

I've been donating to Snow Leopard Trust for many years, now, and am so happy with the work they're doing! Taking a holistic approach to conservation--supporting the endangered snow leopards via education and programs within the human communities shared by the big cats, as well as tracking and monitoring those cat populations--feels like the best way to make the biggest, positive impact... for EVERYONE.
I love the simple stories of their work, you can hear their love for their work through the words written. I wish I could support them in a more practical way than through donations and buying their products but age does not let me now. I hope they succeed in in protecting these magnificent animals for my grandchildren to know they are still wild, alive, and thriving.
Snow Leopard Trust keeps its supporters continually updated with their activities and tells us exactly where and how donations are spent. I feel as though I can get to know individual cats via all the photos and “selfies” (wildlife camera video) and ongoing biographies of each individual leopard. All of these images are entertaining, some are hilarious, all are heartwarming. I especially enjoy reading about how SLT interacts with the many locals, villagers, schoolchildren and continues to educate them about snow leopards and to help in preserving them. SLT is basically teaching everyone to also appreciate and love the cats rather than to view them as a menace to cattle. Most enjoyable was a day when supporters could watch and interact with the different researchers in snow leopard habitat around the world. I feel like a valued member and proudly wear the T-shirts!
The Snow Leopard Trust continues to delight us with pictures of snow leopards and stories of their lives, the rangers, and research scientists who follow them. Snow leopards live in territory inhospitable to a comfortable life, but the rangers and scientists continue to learn about and to protect these magnificent animals. Because of their tireless efforts, we are able to obtain a clearer picture of the snow leopards’ habits and territories. The Snow Leopard Trust also works with villagers local to the animals’ habitat, providing education and enabling them to coexist. The thrill I experience upon seeing the leopards’ photos must also move the hearts of everyone who works to ensure that they survive and thrive. Thank you, The Snow Leopard Trust, for everything you do.

Snow leopards are some of the least known and therefore poorly understood species on Earth, habiting harsh environments. The Snow Leopard Trust works tirelessly to study these magnificent ghosts, providing valuable research on their environment, habits, mating, and food cycle. Meanwhile, snow leopards continue to be threatened by loss of environment, food scarcity, and the encroachment of mankind. We need to protect and preserve snow leopards now, before they become extinct. Please support this extremely worthwhile organization in its goals to provide support for snow leopards: by learning more about them, providing information and education to native peoples who cohabit the areas where snow leopards roam, and by raising the world’s awareness of this magnificent species in all its glory.
Snow Leopard Trust is the real deal in conservation efforts. It works with local people to support coexistence with these magnificent big cats. It uses employs the best scientists, who use state the art methods that underlie their creative approach to serve the interests of both the snow leopards and the indigenous people that share their challenging and severely beautiful environment.
I love Snow Leopard Trust because they work to educate the public and the communities that are connected to the snow leopard's habitat about the benefits of conserving and protecting all aspects of this majestic predators environment.
I love all cats. I love Snow Leopard Trust because they help preserve these beautiful snow leopards without getting involved in other peripheral issues. They work with the indigenous native people to enable them to coexist peacefully with snow leopards while maintaining their livelihoods. Many of these people learn to love snow leopards rather than kill them.
Always so informative and respectful of the animals. I learn so much from their newsletters and online presence. Really well done.
Snow leopards are amazing, they have been my favorite animal for a long time, and I really believe that this organization is doing their best to help this cool animal trive.
This organization both informs and protects, always the winning combination. They help fund research that is fundamental in better understanding and protecting Snow Leopards, while helping local population improve their lives. I really believe they play a crucial role in the Snow Leopards' survival in the wild.
I donate to many conservation groups, but for many years the Snow Leopard Trust has been one of my major beneficiaries because I believe they do good work. They sponsor basic research on snow leopard ecology, including radio-tracking and monitoring wild populations in the remote mountains of Asia. They work with local people to reduce killings of snow leopards, to support local incomes and wildlife rangers. They protected prime snow leopard habitat from a mining threat in Mongolia, and that land is now a national reserve. They sponsor international conferences and efforts to protect snow leopards.
I became a member of Snow Leopard Trust in 2009 when my family and I lived in the Seattle area. This organization's passion and commitment are so evident through their frequent photos, videos, updates, and simply being out there in the public to educate us and inspire us to care and take action. I would see their booth at every environmental event that I would attend. Thank you so very much for being one of my heroes! Thank you very much for your tremendous work and dedication to snow leopards!
If even HALF of the actions and efforts by this group come to fruition, I would call them a success.
Protecting and preserving these magnificent cats in these remote places is a wonderful mission. It can only be achieved with the co-operation and agreement of the local human populations. It appears ISLT is on the right path. I wish them continued and greater success.

The Snow Leopard Trust appears to be achieving outstanding results in reaching out to native peoples in the far-flung, remote areas of Central Asia, which are the last strongholds of this magnificent, reclusive cat.
Ecological and conservation NGOs are a relatively new concept to many of these areas, yet the Snow Leopard Trust has achieved inspiring success. I actively read their newsletters and updates, and have been impressed, that despite the diversity of the peoples, the immense distances and sometimes almost inaccesible territories, the Snow Leopards Trust has built relationships, formed working alliances, built trust and confidence, and is educating people on the value of biological diversity, and subsequently, is reducing the loss of these creatures due to human activity.
Most sensible, is the program of reimbursement to local farmers and herders for the loss of livestock, and their attempt to promote other economical alternatives for local herder villages. I have gladly volunteered to pay for the loss of a sheep or goat if it means the preservation of one of these cats.
Most impressive, it appears this organization achieves their results with a relatively small, dedicated group of people, both here in the West, and on-site in Asia, without a great deal of overhead or top-heavy apparatus. I am pleased to recommend, without qualification, Snow Leopard Trust, as one of the outstanding ecological NGOs that is making a difference. Without them, these magnificant cats would be even more imperiled.
This trust sends detailed information about progress and where the donation has made a difference. The dedication of those in the field working with the local populations living in these beautiful yet challenging environments, and evidence of the difference being made for the survival of these magnificent animals makes this a worthwhile donation.
Works to save endangered snow leopards and other wildlife in their habitat by working with local communities. Uses donations efficiently and engages members in various ways to raise funds.

This is the only charity that I am aware of that works to protect snow leopards. Their two-prong approach of habitat conservation and education seems to working to protect these endangered big cats.
The one and only time I have had to contact the Snow Leopard Trust about my monthly donation, the issue was resolved quickly and accurately and in a courteous manner. This is a great charity that uses funds wisely.
A great organization doing very difficult work in an economically disadvantaged area. To save the snow leopard, and thus the ecosystem, they navigate competing and challenging governmental and socio-political bodies across nations. Absolutely stellar work!

Snow Leopard Trust is protecting one of the rarest, most vulnerable cats in some of the most wild and inaccessible lands. Bringing these cats into the limelight brings international focus on fragile ecosystems, marginalized economies and vanishing cultures. Their inclusive approach to conservation is the only way to make real change, especially when dealing with localized and difficult issues in varied and often adversarial governments.
As someone who adores snow leopards, I was so pleased to find this organization last year. I love what the Snow Leopard Trust for these rare and exquisite animals!
While this charity gets good coverage to aid in their donations, I think the work that they do is priceless. Working with community members in the area where snow leopards are found is the best way to help keep these animals safe. The Trust's continued work shows how we humans can live peacefully with these great cats. Poachers can be eliminated with many eyes keeping watch over this precious animal. I'm hoping communities around the globe do the same to protect their animals against the illegal wildlife trade.
I became aware of this endangered specie some years ago and was intrigued by how little was known about the life of such an iconic animal. Through the Snow Leopard Trust I have learnt so much about their lives. But, probably the the most satisfying thing is the development of projects in the many inhospital places they are found and the efforts to change the thinking of the various inhabitants to preserve the specie instead of killing them, despite the fact that Snow Leopards kill their livestock in order to survive. I am sure this has become a difficult thing to change as their livestock is their main source of income with little other options in the remote areas in which many of these people live.
However, the Snow Leopard Trust has been doing remarkable things over the years in producing initiatives to help these people to look at other additional ways of support. In addition, the educational programmes that are set up, provide the younger generation with the knowledge to hopefully create a lasting existance for these wonderful animals.
Without the donations and support of the many people and organisations involved in providing a platform for their future, the existance of the Snow Leopard would be even bleaker. It's always a great pleasure to read the regular newsletters and learn more about the latest initiatives and see the latest pictures of these wonderful animals in their habitat.
Not only does Snow Leopard Trust do excellent work, but their newsletters are actually worth reading and contain valuable insights on many aspects of snow leopard conservation that I bet most people don't normally consider.
I've been contributing for many years and watched their progress. The things they do for the snow leopards and the people involved with them, as well as the protection of the herders and local people is tremendous. Keep up the good work.
I think it is wonderful that snow leopard trust work so hard to save these beautiful cats keep up the good work because what you're doing is wonderful... I am a member and through world wildlife fund I donate monthly to help a snow leopard.
I fell in love with Snow Leopards at age 10 when my grandfather took me to the Copenhagen, Denmark, zoo where we saw the cutest Snow Leopard cub ever. I bought a postcard of him still treasured today at 75. Since that trip, I have loved all Leopards to the extreme some might say when more often than not seeing me in all sorts of Leopard clothes, shoes, jewelry and even bags. Of course, only fake Leopard fur is acceptable. Thanks for giving me the chance to be part of your great work also enabling me to support all Leopards. Looking forward to your annual Snow Leopard calendar. Let me add that I am an animal artist and have several Leopard artworks - my own and that of others - on my walls. I can't have too much Leopard "stuff" around.
Sincere thanks..... Inge Alger
Although my 'discretionary spending' is extremely limited, the Snow Leopard Trust is always at the very top of my charitable giving.
I love not just that the international Snow Leopard Trust -- now celebrating 40 years of leadership in the global effort to study and save these magnificent cats -- leads not only with its highly successful scientific research and field studies, successfully negotiating conservation cooperation among (otherwise often highly contentious) governments throughout the 12 snow leopard habitat nations, but especially its pioneering success promoting community-based conservation in partnership with the remote herder and farmer peoples who share the remote regions of the snow leopard habitats.
The Snow Leopard Trust achieves all this with remarkably well-managed overhead: the budget is out there demonstrably making-a-difference.
"Far exceeds expectations"!
The Snow Leopard Trust does great work with local communities.

Their conservation work is fantastic, particularly because of the way in which they involve local communities. The Snow Leopard Trust has done a great job in keeping us updated on their projects, and also in sharing knowledge about the snow leopards (much appreciated since I joined because I am interested in snow leopards!!). They do have a personal touch...
I first found out about this one via a banner ad on a different website. Clicking on it described the efforts of this charity as to the great work they do to protect and eventually raise the numbers of these amazing cats,. Last year I did make a donation. And earlier this year when they introduced plushies as they call their collections of stuffed animals, I promptly obtained one, following their examples to enable some of the money spent to become also a donation.
Am so proud to be a supporter of snow leopard trust!
I love the updates and photos.
Also, so smart that part of the plan to save these beautiful creatures involves assisting the resident local indigenous people as well.
I've been a member for years and love the work they do to protect Snow Leopards and the human communities they co-exist with.
Snow Leopards are not only magnificent animals but they are vital to the ecosystems they inhabit. The Snow Leopard Trust's work to save them is also vital. If we lose snow leopards to extinction we will have lost not only a magnificent creature but also the vital role they play in their ecosystem which could have serious consequences for that system.
this is one of four non-profits i donate to, the others being the wild animal sanctuary, panthera, and my local humane society. SLT is the most awesome i have seen! the newsletters, videos, articles are the most interesting i have read. i had the pleasure of attending the SLT gathering in seattle a few years ago, and met many of the people involved in SLT. and imagine my surprise when i saw the microsoft ad featuring dr. sharma!! we were part of a group that went to the space needle, along with robin barfoot and other members of SLT. and i have been saving my $$ , hoping that someday i can go on the Mongolia trip, if the pandemic ever ends and it is safe once more. i have ordered many unique items from the Shop- rugs, books, calendars, and felt toys- and get many comments on how cool they are! please give my regards to everyone at SLT! I love you all !
This is an excellent charity and has the highest rating on Charity Navigator. I've been supporting and working with them for many years now, and am very impressed with how they have advanced snow leopard conservation by (among other things) partnering with the local communities near where the cats live. I have been a supporter of the Snow Leopard Trust for a number of years. It was my pleasure and privilege to help with the Snow Leopard Trust’s First Annual Fundraiser in Washington, DC in 2017, which was a successful and well-attended event. Plans for the Second Annual Fundraiser are in the works now. The SLT’s mission is the conservation and welfare of the cats, and they work in partnership with people who live in and near the habitats of the leopards. I truly look forward to being associated with the Snow Leopard Trust (www.snowleopard.org) for many more years to come.
I have been a supporter of Snow leopard Trust for several years. I find that they work incredibly diligently with local communities in remote areas to protect snow leopards, their habitat and other wildlife that share this habitat. Their content is engaging and I particularly appreciate the opportunity to see remote camera footage of snow leopards and other creatures going about their lives undisturbed.
They are an amazing organization with constant updates, transparency, and they are interactive with their supporters.
I've been supporting Snow Leopard Trust for several years now for several reasons. This organization works tirelessly for the well-being and survival of wild snow leopards, co-operating closely with the local people in the snow leopard range countries. Snow Leopard Trust also spreads awareness on social media (I first learned about them on Facebook) by sharing interesting articles and video clips about snow leopards, and has also hosted many online events, inviting people to join in, get involved, ask questions, learn about snow leopards and why they are so important to the mountain ecosystem, and to help preserve them. Snow Leopard Trust encourages people into action - everyone can do something, be it donating, sharing information on social media, volunteering, or symbolically adopting a snow leopard, for instance. I will certainly continue supporting Snow Leopard Trust also in the future. The snow leopards are more than worth it!
Love the close knit and down to earth SLT crew who care deeply about snow leopards and the environment. SLT builds bridges with and learns from communities that live within the Snow Leopard habitat. Being a former elementary teacher, I have a soft spot for their kids’ links, educational activities and resources that teach about our intricately marvelous web of life and how we can be a positive force for conservation.
I discovered SNT through the conservation work that was featured in documentaries I viewed online. All of their efforts take place in the central Asian regions where snow leopards are indigenous. They set the model standard for snow leopard conservation. The single greatest threat to these big cats are human animal conflicts. SNT established an innovative solution to the animosity Sheppard's harbor towards snow leopards for occasionally poaching from their flock. A trust fund. SNT works with people, if they don't retaliate and kill the big cat, SLT will compensate them for their losses.
There are videos online where snow leopards have killed livestock but the farmers have not retaliated. Instead they contacted SLT who dispatched people to trap the cats, compensate the farmers and move the cats to a more appropriate location.
This is an organization that has the resources to work with governments in the developing world to protect snow leopards from extinction in the wild.
I donate and attend webinars as well as wear my merchandise with pride. #savethesnows
I have supported this charity for years. They do wonderful education work with local communities to build strong and lasting relationships to sustain these rare creatures in their native environment. I always received beautiful photos and information about the populations they are helping, and I ordered some beautiful handmade products made by local people. I always feel happy and uplifted by supporting such a wonderful organization.
I‘ve been an advocate of snow leopards since 2011, when my family and I first befriended Darhan and Ateri, the Memphis Zoo’s beautiful, playful breeding pair. I learned of the Snow Leopard Trust’s conservation efforts a few years later at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. The people with whom I spoke were knowledgeable and passionate, and I became an ardent supporter of their cause, happy to donate to fund research, education, and conservation. I love seeing the encouraging footage from camera traps, and I’m always excited to read about new cubs! The Snow Leopard Trust’s successful incentivization of herders and engagement of community activists is inspiring and is resulting in improved conditions for both snow leopards and the people with whom they share their territory.
I support environmental organizations which emphasize collaboration and the wellbeing of people. Snow Leopard Trust exemplifies this ethic by working with the people who live in the Snow Leopards habitat. It’s a win for people and animals!
This organization provides a great environmental benefit for a threatened species, and does so in a low-overhead operation that makes the most of donated funds. Their operations also benefit the indigenous residents of the areas of Asia that constitute the snow leopard's habitat. A pleasure to deal with, and I am proud to support them!
Snow leopard trust is a great organization that communicates well, organizes great events (when those are allowed) and is very appreciative of their donors. The mission is narrow but, to our family, very important. They do a lot of good work focusing on local scientists and businsses in Asia where the snow leopards are, and promote the work of women. I feel good about my money going to Snow Leopard Trust.
Wonderful, well-run organization! It's a pleasure to support their efforts to help snow leopards.

Beautiful work, well-managed. As a long-time donor for SLT, We have been nothing but impressed with their mission and accomplishments.
These smaller non-profits and charities need our help more than ever, so I recommend looking into finding specific causes you care about instead of the big name brand ones!
I love the transparency of Snow Leopard Trust & that they keep me updated. I also like that it's a specific cause, so you know where the $$ is going. They're also remarkably thoughtful and have sent me handwritten thank you notes, a cute little patch, and you can tell they don't take their donors for granted. Please consider donating! They are really great people, and snow leopards need our help
Snow Leopard Trust does an incredible job promoting conservation and working with local communities. I love reading in each newsletter about all the success stories that they have in snow leopard habitats and communities. It seems like a relatively small organization (compared to things like NWF and Audubon), but the impact they make is huge! Well done SLT!
I applaud the hard work International Snow Leopard Trust is doing to support the leopards, their environment and the people sharing their ranges. I am a monthly supporter. They educate and employ locals, pay locals for their livestock that are taken by the leopards, empower local women to make money with crafts as well as do leopard research and conservation. I am proud to support International Snow Leopard Trust.

We are monthly donors. We believe in the work ISLT is doing to help leopards. We are especially impressed with the insurance program that helps families that lose livestock to leopards. Now the families receive money for loss due to predation instead of killing the leopards. Using smart, creative ways to save leopards and fragile economies.
I have been a member of the Snow Leopard Trust monthly donors group for at least two years. I really like the newsletters they put out on line with the photos and stories about the cats and the local people who live in the areas and their work to protect the cats and their environment. I have bought a few items from the online store and have been happy with them. The calendars are great.
I've been donating to these wonderful people for a few years. I love getting the newsletters that update me on what's being done to help the snow leopards. I haven't ordered any products yet but they're all so cute and look amazing.
I've had the good fortune to meet some of the people behind this organization and was so impressed with their passion and dedication.
Since becoming a supporter, I've come to appreciate the knowledge, expertise and stories behind their work to preserve this iconic species. Further, I believe the approach they are taking of integrating the local populations into the efforts of preserving their snow leopards is the most innovative and successful method of conservation. And, in addition, I so very much enjoy the opportunity to contribute further by purchasing handcrafted items made by these local people, knowing my dollars are contributing to sustain these people while protecting this endangered species.
Overall, this is a brilliant model of conservation that is durable and sustainable, creating a win-win all around.
Very beautiful items: I got several of the embroidered napkins & one of the rugs, 2 calendars & a cute little patch I put on my purse. Even more beautiful than in the pictures. I am very satisfied & can't wait to get some more stuff from them soon.
Snow Leopards: Magnificent animals striving to survive in a very difficult and inhospitable environment. As a supporter of the Snow Leopard Trust, I can confirm that the Trust is doing an excellent job in speaking up for and protecting Snow Leopards. The SLT deserves all the credit in the world for its work to save Snow Leopards and preserve their habitat.

The snow leopard trust keeps donors up to date with incredible stories images of the animals they are working to protect. Their work is incredibly important and impactful for these elusive animals and their communication is great.
They truly care for these cats, and those who provide their support either through money or volunteer time. I’ve written a few emails to them, and always get a personal reply back (not a ‘form letter’. The work they are doing to save this endangered species is so special, and has proven to be quite effective. I am confident that my dollars are going towards saving these stunning creatures, and not in lining people’s pockets.
In a time of massive environmental change and threat, this charity/trust works diligently and WITH GREAT SUCCESS to ensure that Snow Leopards remain on our planet.
Im just happy to working with a Non profit that deals specifically with Snow Leopards. They dont get enough press.
This movement is to protect a precious and rare community of beautiful beings. They deserve our help.
SLT is a wonderful organization! I donate to many environmental, social and animal welfare groups and SLT is my favorite because they are so great about communication. I know all legitimate not-for-profits appreciate their contributors. SLT obviously cares about us! I also love the fact that they work so closely with the communities where they work, and share that experience. They are a top-rate!
I try to donate as much as possible to organizations that support animals and the environment. Only a few are on my monthly list. One of them is Snow Leopard Trust. Not only are they tirelessly doing amazing things for the leopards but also helping people in the regions they interact with value them. I appreciate the time and care SLT devotes to keeping us members apprised of the activities and accomplishments. The stories are heartwarming. This organization makes me feel hopeful about the future of a species on this planet.
I have been aware of and have supported the International Snow Leopard Trust for a few years now. Their compassion, professionalism and ability to work with the people who live in the areas where snow leopards live has been truly amazing. I support several causes and feel that other non-profits could learn a lot from this Trust in how they operate, their transparency and their commitment to protecting and saving snow leopards.

Every non-human animal on this planet holds an important place. Somehow the cause of the Snow Leopard particularly resonates and the International Snow Leopard Trust runs grass roots, on the ground campaigns that raise awareness and save lives.
Every life form has a function that—in its own, unique way—is critical to the sustainability of the ecosystem of which it is a part. While I was working in Nepal in the 1966, a helicopter crashed and killed two people.
A helicopter, like an ecosystem, has a great variety of pieces with a wide range of sizes, shapes, and functions. The particular problem here was with the engine, which is held together by many nuts and bolts. Each has a small sideways hole drilled through it so that a tiny “safety wire” can be inserted, with the ends twisted together, to prevent the tremendous vibration created by a running engine from loosening and working a nut off its bolt. The helicopter crashed because a mechanic forgot to replace one tiny safety wire that kept the lateral control assembly together. A nut vibrated off its bolt, the helicopter lost its stability, and the pilot lost control. All this was caused by one missing piece that altered the entire functional dynamics of the aircraft, which in this case is analogous to the mountainous ecosystem wherein the snow leopard lives. The engine had been “simplified” by one piece—a small length of wire.
At that precise moment, which piece—albeit hidden—was the most important part of the helicopter? The point is that each part (compositional diversity) has a corresponding relationship with every other part (structural diversity), and collectively they provide functional sustainability only by working together within the limits of the systemic whole.
In the mountainous ecosystem wherein the snow leopard lives, which species is the most important—possibly the tiny safety wire—with respect to human desires? Is it the marmot that feeds the snow leopard, the domestic cow that feeds the human, the snow leopard that feeds the lammergeyer, the human who kills the snow leopard (to protect a cow or gain a pelt), or the person who works to save the snow leopard from extinction? Should the snow leopard become extinct, how would that alter the ecosystem’s functional sustainability?
Respectfully, Chris Maser, coauthor with Cameron La Follette, of: “Sustainability and the Rights of Nature: An Introduction. 2017. CRC Press, Boca Raton, FL. 418 pp.
The Snow leopard Trust approaches the work of saving snow leopards from extinction in an efficient, creative and holistic manner. They are great communicators who are sensitive to the needs of the people living in snow leopard habitat as well as those who work with and support them. They are a truly outstanding partner and conservation organization.
I really like the fact that they are working with the people in the snow leopard habitats to help them coexist. If the people who live there are dedicated to the snow leopard’s survival and we can help support them everyone wins. The fact that they have captured a snow leopard that was threatening their livestock instead of killing it proves this works.
The email updates are in depth and lead you further and further into the research.
The items I have bought from them are high quality and well worth the price, not to mention the added value of helping to fund their research and programs. A great organization overall.

The International Snow Leopard Trust is one of the most effective and rewarding nonprofits I have ever worked with. Their communication is great, as is the recognition that we receive. They are extremely efficient with fund utilization, and we feel as though the research and work are truly important, productive, and inclusive. We feel true ownership in the projects in which we invest and are very proud of the work they/we are doing.
I have been a supporter of the Snow Leopard Trust for more than a decade and it is my top charity. They provide informative updates about their work and approach conservation in a sensible, collaborative way. I know that my donations are going to support the long term conservation of this iconic species.
Been a monthly donor for the past few years. They have a great focus on long term solutions for saving these amazing animals. Also appreciate the regular reporting on progress made.
As a charitable organization that makes donations to dozens of NGOs a year, Snow Leopard Trust stands out for their wonderful work and feedback! We have received personal updates about how our donations have made an impact which is so helpful to share with our members! Thank you, Snow Leopard Trust!
We have been working with the International Snow Leopard Trust for several years, partnering to help grassroots organisations working on snow leopards in Mongolia and other countries. The support they provide to the scientists and conservationists on the ground is hugely important.
The National Zoo & Aquarium in Canberra, Australia has been supporting the SLT trust for many years. The SLT is professional but friendly and personal to it's members. The stories of success are inspirational leaving hope for our wild species. Supporting the communities is fantastic and perhaps the basis of every successful conservation effort. Well done SLT! I hope you can one day support other conservation groups around the world to become as successful.
SLT is doing such great work in bringing much needed attention to this beautiful and endangered cat. Our knowledge of these solitary, yet ecologically important animals has been immensely increased due to their dedicated efforts. I recommend a perusal of their fine website to check in on the progress.
We started offering trade items in our gift shop 10 years ago with good success. Recently we created a button that we give to people who donate one dollar to the ISLT which we match with one dollar from us. This year we had many requests for a refrigerator magnet instead and we are planning to offer one next year for a $2.50 donation which would more than double our annual contribution to ISLT. People are most impressed when we tell them how many countries the Snow Leopards live in and how we connect with the people that live side by side with Snow Leopard in the wild.
Innovative, financially efficient and offers great communication to donors. Takes a holistic approach that involves local communities. Snow Leopard Trust is a model for other wildlife charities to follow.
Snow Leopard Trust is amazing, for several reasons. One is their actual conservation work in the field, which demonstrably has achieved significant results, in preserving snow leopards, economically supporting local farmers, and in helping to change laws in over a dozen countries. Another is that a very high percentage of their funds goes to the charity work itself, as any of the independent charity rating agencies make clear. They are also conscientious about educating people like me--both about their charitable activities and about snow leopards in general. Finally, on a few occasions I've had to interact directly with them and I found them fast, responsive, professional, and friendly. I highly recommend this charity!
Great charity that is really making a difference--not only for the cats but for the local people affected by the cats.
I have always admired and respected these majestic illusive cats. So when I heard about the Trust I joined right away.
I have adopted a snow leopard and I donate monthly to the cause. The trust keeps me updated with newsletter via post and email informing me on it's progress. If it wasn't for the trust these endangered animals would be closer to extinction and that would be disasterous .
So if you love Snow Leopards like I do help keep these big cats alive.
Our institution (Zoo d'Asson France) has been supporting The fantastic work of the Snow Leopard Trust for 10 years.
This fantastic species needs field research and local populations'commitment in order to be saved from extinction, and ISLT does this job marvellously.
I have never, regrettably, seen a snow leopard in the wild. But I have spent a lot of my vacation time over the years in the high mountains of Asia where they live. These mountains are a tough environment for humans to occupy and make a living, so I completely understand the catastrophe to them of snow leopards taking their animals. So I am a real fan of the Snow Leopard Trust's solution - a combination of insurance for stock taken plus financial aid to the local people through setting them up with micro businesses. A few years ago I was able to meet one of their team visiting the UK and was impressed with the dedication and hours of work put in.
The Trust's web site is kept up to date, clear and informative. And attractive! It's an example to any charity in the modern world
Conservation in some of the harshest and difficult of terrains and some of the poorest parts of Central Asia and South Asia, utilising science, technology, local/national experts and community development to protect the world's elusive Snowleopards. Good communication with donors, not so large that it loses touch with those who support it.
I love cats. I am passionate about endangered cats, Snow Leopards are one of the most endangered. The Snow Leopard Trust focuses on saving these big cats by engaging the communities they surround and touch, making a place for both to survive. No easy task, but they do it with compassion for both humans and cats and are successful in creating an environment where both can live and thrive together. I support their mission and believe in its success- I know that they will succeed in allowing future generations the chance to know this amazing feline.
I think the snow leopards are the most Amazing animals and it is critical to ensure their continued existence. The snow leopard trust keeps me
Updated with photos and work they are doing.
I have loved snow leopards and have been working and hoping that I could find a non-profit that worked for the conservation of these incredibly beautiful and rare big cats. I have pledged $5 per month to this non-profit for only a short time, but I get updates and videos from the Snow Leopard Trust. I even got an apology from the Trust because I received a second solicitation for money to support livestock insurance after I had established a monthly donation to the livestock insurance through the Trust. I've never had that happen before, even when I have received far more than a second request.
as i consider the snow leopard one of the most beautiful creatures on the planet, i'm extremely proud to be a generous donor to assist the international snow leopard fund continue the outstanding work they do to preserve the snow leopard.
with out their amazing educational and interactive efforts w remote villages and communities in the himalayan mountains in nepal, pakistan. afganistan and other nations that border on the snow leopards crucial habitat, many of the scarce animals would have been lost to herders killing the snow leopard to limit it from killing the peoples live stock which in the incredibility desolate regions is more valuable than a predator which threatens their very survival.
unfortunately prior to the international snow leopard fund programs many snow leopards met an unnecessary and early demise which is heart breaking in my opinion as the survival rate of the animal into adulthood is exceedingly low. as the international snow leopard fund came to be and evolve due to the founders insight of the desperate and delicate existence of the snow leopard, the researchers and scientists as well as sociologists understood the intricate relationship between the snow leopard and the communities which have chosen to live within the leopards habit must learn to coexist with out endangering the other.
in the years since the inception of the international snow leopard fund it's efforts have been tremendously effective in communicating to most of the peoples in the snow leopards range and habit (as well as expanding the protected areas of state/nation sanctioned natural parks and region now dedicated for the snow leopard) that it is in their best interest to protect the snow leopard because of it's ties to nature and preserving the environment which will allow the natural prey of the leopard to flourish so it won't be as interested in the herders livestock.
once people grasped this concept it was much easier to accept the idea of having the snow leopard roam in their hunting regions mostly hunting it's 'normal' prey and having much less need to seek out the livestock.
it takes many years to reach out and to educate all these peoples. this is not an easy nor simple effort. many dedicated people have spent much of their professional lives moving these programs through local communities and national governments. as a donor i recognize and truly am grateful and appreciative for everyone and everything the international snow leopard fund has been able to bring into fruition as well as all their planning for future success in keeping and maintaining a vibrant ecosystem for the snow leopard to thrive in.
Snow leopards are surely among the most beautiful and enigmatic animals on Earth. Extremely rare and almost impossible to see in the wild, they are, nevertheless, the target of poaching for their wonderfully patterned fur as well as the occasional foray into the sheep pens of impoverished farmers in Mongolia and elsewhere. Where the Snow Leopard Trust is a game-changer is when it creates a compensation scheme for those farmers who've lost animals as well as paying them to protect "their"leopards from poaching and act as guides for ecotourists. This turns these endangered animals into profitable animals to keep around - for the farmers and their children and *their* education. A win-win-win for the residents, their families, and the snow leopard.
One of the best things about this nonprofit is that most of its field officers are local men and women. Snow Leopard Trust provides funds and training and help but it doesn't impose itself on local cultures. Nor does it seek to protect leopards at the expense of local villagers and animal herders. It works with people, compensating them when their livestock are killed by leopards, providing alternative sources of income to reduce the temptation to poach leopards, rewarding locals for preventing outsiders from poaching. SLT is small but makes a big difference and does good research. I've been a supporter for more than 10 years.
I love these cats and this is the most incredible group I have had the pleasure to support. Their approach to actively involving and educating the local people in a vast, remote and challenging environment to protect, study and preserve the elusive snow leopard continues to be an astounding and successful cross-cultural project. I have been following and supporting them since their inception and am so impressed with the positive advances they have made to ensure the preservation of these cats. The efforts and success of this complex organization are a model to be followed, encouraged and perpetuated.
I just fell in love with those beautiful elusive animals about two decades ago, when I was visiting Milwaukee County Zoo. The more I came to learn about them, I felt I need to help them survive not only in zoos (our Tama has been sucessful in breeding them) but also in the wild. ISLT was my first step and they have never disappointed me.
I find this trust to be informative and a good group helping the Snow Leopards. I am glad to be involved even in a small way for these great animals.
Great trust. They do all they can to work with local communities to teach them is to coexist with the snow leopards. They also help sell those local communities sell their homemade goods to help their economy. Great organization to support.
The people at Snow Leopard Trust are exceptional. I know that is true of most non-profits because they're so committed. But these people follow-up and provide the kind of information that allows you to share in their excitement when a cat is caught on camera, and you feel the pain when one of the volunteers lost his life because of his work in the field. I genuinely know I'm dealing with real people, that are fighting for the snow leopards.
I love that the Trust works with the people who live with the Snow leopards to help them find alternatives to killing them.
They work with the people that live in Snow Leopard territory so that they benefit from the conservation effort.
Snow Leopard Trust gets your attention for the snow leopards! They have an incredible staff capable of effectively advocating for these dear animals through innovative campaigns and unique marketing. I trust that their efforts are completely in line with their obvious love for these cats.
Snow leopard trust is doing truly essential work helping preserve this rarest and most beautiful of the great cats. It sponsors never before projects. involvement of local villagers in protection, making snow leopard supporting handicrafts, camera traps across the cats' range capturing never before seen images of this most elusive feline!
This marvelous organization deserves all the help fools have to offer. I freely admit to being a"cat lady" and thru this org. I can take it to a whole new level. Their untiring efforts and "big cat" thinking create endless ways for them to :? I'mhelp these beautiful creatures not just exist but thrive. Their partnership with the people who live in the leopards native area is truly genius. I'm proud to support this group and love bragging on "my Kitties".
I adopted a leopard for my friend as a birthday gift (*purr*fect price range, btw). When I was presented with the option get a plush with my adoption or "maximize my donation, do not send plush" I was won over. Everything they do goes directly to the community and the animals.
Also the cat toys (which are handmade by the locals! wow! so neat!) are a hit with every cat I've presented them to :).
All of my orders have come with a handwritten thank you and even once a bonus tree ornament [which has also become a cat toy in my house].
If you want to know your money is going to a great cause and get really amazing thoughtful items and gifts this is the way to go.
The Snow Leopard Trust is an amazing organization that works to save snow leopards in the wild. They work with the local communities to establish conservation programs to help save the snow leopards as well as the people who share the land with these beautiful animals. They have education programs to teach the people, young and old, about conservation and living together in harmony with snow leopards. The Snow Leopard Trust also sells products hand made by local people so that can support themselves and their families. I have purchased numerous products over the years and will continue to support this great nonprofit organization. Check out their website to learn more about snow leopards and see some of the awesome camera trap photos that they have of snow leopards out in the wild.

We have supported the Snow Leopard Trust for a couple of years - as soon as I first learned about this wonderful organization. They not only provide important research about the snow leopards in the wild, but also work with the local people to educate them and develop conservation programs to help save the snow leopards. I have adopted snow leopards through the program and purchased handcrafted items made by the local people. This past year, I received a Snow Leopard Trap Camera adoption for Christmas and it is absolutely amazing to see the images recorded by the camera. I had a couple of questions about the images and received a quick response. This is a wonderful charity to support.
It is a wonderful and perfect organization that helps raise the money for the animals in need. They don't keep it for themselves they use everything for helping snow leopards.
The Snow Leopard Trust is the perfect example of a non-profit organization that not only raises money for wildlife conservation but also does an exemplary job of educating others of the importance of protecting snow leopards and their habitats and providing job opportunities for local communities via its Snow Leopard Enterprises program. Other non-profits should take note.
Snow Leopard Trust's innovative programs and community conservation program are working to ensure the survival of this imperiled species while also benefiting local communities in the snow leopard's range. SLT''s handicraft-for-conservation is forward thinking and empowering, generating revenue to support both conservation programs and herder communities.
I have been a member of the Snow Leopard Trust for many years. Their commitment to education of the indigenous people in the snow leopards range is amazing and so helpful to saving the snow leopard. They use very little to support the organization's administration; almost all the money donated goes to programs to learn about these cats and to educate and inform everyone about how important they are to the world. With a serious human overpopulation, organizations like this are more and more important to human survival, even if most humans don't understand this.

I have been impressed at how this nonprofit uses education and science to help track and save snow leopards in their habitat. Teachings aimed at local people who have contact with these cats are bound to pay off. Further, very little of my donation goes to administrative costs; most goes directly to actions.
I have been a supporter of the Snow Leopard Trust for many years. I became interested in this organization because I love the big, majestic, threatened cats that it is working to save. I've continued my support not only because of the Trust's efforts to study and save snow leopards and their habitat but because of its great work with the people who live with them. The Snow Leopard Trust has several programs to help the inhabitants of regions where the cats live. It understands that human beings are an integral part of the snow leopard's territory, survival and future. Because the Trust combines these to approaches, scientific and humanitarian, it will have the support of both my heart and my checkbook for many years to come.
The Snow Leopard Trust has been working diligently to save the snow leopard, a beautiful cat that is endangered in its native habitat of the Himalayas. Their educational efforts have helped to dispel some of the understandable animosity from local farmers and herders. They have managed to find, identify, and track individual snow leopards, leading to much better understanding of this wild cat's habits and needs. Their hard work has helped to bring the animal to the attention of governments in the region, which may lead to better conservation efforts. I found the Snow Leopard Trust in the federal government's CFC charitable giving catalogue for government workers, among thousands of other worthwhile charities. I've been very happy to be able to contribute to this worthwhile cause.
I am a wildlife biologist that deals with endangered species in the US. The direction taken by the Snow Leopard Trust in making the local community a part of the conservation of this species is the real way to identify and exploit local solutions that enable the local population and the snow leopards to coexist. The outreach with locally produced products (yarns and other handicrafts) enables donors to spread the word via gifts to friends and family who are (from personal experience) charmed with the gifts. As with all predators, there is a conflict with herders, but this organization has done an incredible effort to bring the local communities into the process.
A fantastic charity - really understands the need to influence and educate the local people so they understand about the value of the wildlife on their doorstep. International Snow Leopard Trust brings work and opportunity to the community to bring real benefits to the people as well as the wildlife
Supporting the Snow Leopard Trust feels very meaningful to me. This organization has the competence and ambitions to provide a better future for endangered Snow Leopards. They do research, educate and inform the public. You can support in several ways, by giving a monthly donation and/or by buying locally manufactured products. The sale of these products helps the local communities survive in harmony with the cats. And you get your Christmas-shopping done in record time!
Hi everyone,
I feel blessed to support the Snow Leopard Trust for its dedication to this wonderful cat is deeply linked with the discovery of new means to make people and cats live in perfect harmony. It can work, i have no doubt about it!

I am a big fan of big cats and I was looking for a charity that could help me support the cause. The Snow Leopard Trust offers educational opportunities to the people living in Snow Leopard territory - this is something important because it teaches the people to live in harmony with the Snow Leopards. I love the online gift store and that the products are made by the people living with the Snow Leopards, and the money supports both them and the Snow Leopard Trust. A great charity!!
I have been a supporter for years. They provide good communication to donors about their projects and successes. They work on the ground with local communities to enhance the lives of snow leopards and the lives of the people living with them. The scientific study they do is well thought out and extremely useful - not only for snow leopards but also for the other wildlife that live in their area.
An excellent conservation non-profit that is making a strong positive contibution to both the conservation of snow leopards and the lives of the people living in their range.
I am a mere school teacher. The importance to teach children and show them actual footage of an endangered species is vital.
To see people coming together for a great cause in a wonderful place with mountains and just the snow leopards is worth the visit.
What an amazing creature my favorite of course. I feel by looking at the site that I am there.

This organization operates with absolute integrity and uses their resources completely for the good of the leopards. They are doing it because of their dedication and passion and their stewardship of our donations is fantastic.
I am amazed by the progress this charity has made the last couple of years, and I am very touched by the all the volunteers that put a lot of time and effort in this trust. They are loving and motivating people who don't know the definition of quitting. If it wasn't for them poachers would have killed the last leopards and we would only be able to enjoy those beautiful beings on old recordings and photo's. All in all I wish for the people that read this review to realize that every second put in volunteering, donating or even reviewing this trust isn't wasted, and that with the right attitude great progress can be made in a short period of time.

I am amazed at how they use 100 percent of their funds for actual on the ground work as well as awareness campaigns that actually reach the people needed. They do raise awarness of the plight of the snow leopard to people who do not live in the range nations, but most of that is through social networking as well as e-mail and other internet methods. I am happy to say that, even with their e-mail newsletters and other e-mails, I am not bombarded every week by some e-mail or postal letter asking me to donate. They keep communications balanced so that one is not wondering if they are actually doing something, but at the same time they do not barrage people with money pleas and the like. As I mentioned, they actually focus on educating people about the plight of the snow leopard. What's unique is that they use programs, such as the handicraft program, that helps the people become self-sufficient but also helps show them that the endangered animal is really a needed ally for people. It's balanced with science, which is needed when conserving an animal on which we still do not have good information.

This charity, with only a small core of wonderful people, has grown and developed some of the most effective, imaginative programs for securing the future of one of our planet's most endangered species, while concurrently finding a way to improve the lives of hundreds of the planet's poorest and most endangered people. It is not often that you can support a charity and find your investment doing double the work! But such is the case with The Snow Leopard Trust. Spend a few moments and look over their work on their website, and I think you will be very impressed. Not only does the charity consistently receive the highest rating from Charity Navigator (alone impressive), but its hardworking staff are constantly finding new ways to reach out and grow, even in these toughest of economic times. A most worthy cause and a most worthy charitable donation. GIVE!!!

My family has been very pleased with our experiences with the Snow Leopard Trust. We have purchased merchandise and symbolic adoptions of snow leopards. Despite living in Japan, our orders arrived very quickly and in great condition. The handmade artisan products were exactly as pictured and described. Furthermore, my kids were so excited when we watched the BBC segment on the Snow Leopard Trust and we saw the local women making the very same products that we purchased. I really like the fact that the Snow Leopard Trust not only researches the beautiful cats, but they also help and educate the locals living in Snow Leopard territory.

I love the Snow Leopard Trust. They are effectively working to save endangered snow leopards. They work well with other organizations with similar goals instead of making things about them. They really care about the people and communities who share territory with snow leopards and are working to improve education, offer microloans and education to start new industries and they sell crafts made by the people in the program. They are making life better for snow leopards and people.
Review from CharityNavigator
I have donated to this charity for the past few years and they've done wonders with the funds by using them in the most efficient manner possible. They have regular updates about the snow leopards that are being tracked and I wish I had more money to donate to such a wonderful organization!

My company was looking for the worlds best Snow Leopard research and conservation programs when we found the Snow Leopard Trust. They were a perfect fit! The Snow Leopard Trust's conservation programs are designed to help people in Snow Leopard areas increase their household income and raise their standard of living. As part of these program, families agree to help protect the Snow Leopard and the unique habitat they share. The Snow Leopard Trust offers many other excellent programs also, such as their Grazing Free Reserves in India.
A quote from the Snow Leopard Trust:
"We are helping four communities in India set aside land that is free from grazing by domestic livestock and other forms of resource use. This enables the recovery of snow leopards and their prey. The largest and oldest reserve, in the Kibber community, has been extremely successful and highlights the good that can come from these reserves: today, the Kibber reserve is home to the largest population of blue sheep in the region (nearly 350), and 3-4 snow leopards have been observed using the reserve.
$100 = manages a wildlife reserve for snow leopards for one month
Your money goes far: the Snow Leopard Trust has Charity Navigator's highest rating for organizational efficiency. "
I could not be happier with The Snow Leopard Trust and all their conservation efforts. Their wonderful researchers and staff are also a pleasure to work with!
Thank you Snow Leopard Trust for all your hard work :)
