Review for International Snow Leopard Trust, Seattle, WA, USA
I‘ve been an advocate of snow leopards since 2011, when my family and I first befriended Darhan and Ateri, the Memphis Zoo’s beautiful, playful breeding pair. I learned of the Snow Leopard Trust’s conservation efforts a few years later at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. The people with whom I spoke were knowledgeable and passionate, and I became an ardent supporter of their cause, happy to donate to fund research, education, and conservation. I love seeing the encouraging footage from camera traps, and I’m always excited to read about new cubs! The Snow Leopard Trust’s successful incentivization of herders and engagement of community activists is inspiring and is resulting in improved conditions for both snow leopards and the people with whom they share their territory.
