Dr. Burge and the rescue do amazing work in the over looked field of bird rescue, which does not get the funding that regular small animal rescue does. There are relatively few resources for birds and Burge Bird Rescue is extremely professional, dedicated, and highly, highly needed.

A great organization doing very difficult work in an economically disadvantaged area. To save the snow leopard, and thus the ecosystem, they navigate competing and challenging governmental and socio-political bodies across nations. Absolutely stellar work!

Bringing these cats into the limelight brings international focus on fragile ecosystems, marginalized economies and vanishing cultures. Their inclusive approach to conservation is the only way to make real change, especially when dealing with localized and difficult issues in varied and often adversarial governments.
