My daughter Anna nas lived with CLA for the past 25 years. In that time she has had a full rich life surrounded by friends she loves and a stable, professional staff that fully understands her capabilities and needs. My wife and I are grateful to CLA for all they have done insure that Anna is, as much as possible, a participant in her larger community.

Very responsive volunteers, provided excellent trees about 15 years ago that are still thriving, and also provided more tree saplings in 2024 that are growing great!

I had the great pleasure of serving on the board of Rebuilding Together Arlington/Fairfax/Falls Church for six years. During that time, I witnessed first hand the incredibly deep impact this organization has on the people and communities it serves. It truly changes people’s lives every day by helping ensure they are able to live full, healthy, and safe lives in their homes. They do an incredible job maximizing every dollar they receive by utilizing a largely volunteer-driven service model. The staff are incredible and are deeply dedicated to the people they serve. While my board service with this organization has come to a close, I remain a steadfast supporter of their work.

My name is Avril Fuentes. I had the privilege of volunteering with SixDegrees.org on a marketing project, and the experience was very rewarding. The team is highly professional and deeply committed to their mission. Throughout the project, they trusted my expertise and empowered me to deliver, offering valuable insights and facilitating smooth interactions with various stakeholders. I was provided with the necessary resources to succeed, which made the collaboration both seamless and enjoyable.<br><br>Each interaction with the team and stakeholders was meaningful, and I felt that my contributions made a real difference. The project not only allowed me to grow professionally but also gave me the opportunity to support SixDegrees.org in its important work. I'm incredibly grateful for this experience and the chance to contribute to such impactful initiative!

I really have to say I am quite disappointed. I am not getting my monthly subscription magazine in the mail. The way I see it, it's either, The Post Office is taken it or the NRA is not sending my magazine.

As a dedicated volunteer member of the PAMA Chicago Chapter, I feel proud of the work I do for this organization, as I can see and feel all of the impact they are having on their target communities. With a board full of members who are all selfless and dedicated to their roles and supporting the people of Palestine, I am happy to say I have meet these amazing people. This is truly one of the few existing nonprofit organizations who assures you that they are having a real positive impact on humanity with the work they do. Palestinian American Medical Association is a honorable example of how a nonprofit organization should function, with full dedication, altruism, care, and honesty.

Whipsawing Communication with Volunteers <br> <br>My experience volunteering with Britepaths was disorienting and disappointing. A program manager there initially brought me on board in January 2024 to help out with bilingual office administration 1 afternoon per week, explaining that I could use a spare office occasionally if needed, which I was grateful for because my boss at my full-time job allowed me Wednesday afternoons off to volunteer at Britepaths on the condition that I be available to jump on a call in an emergency. Across roughly 3 visits, I learned various systems and procedures to help out, and took detailed notes that ended up capturing unwritten aspects of several procedures that weren't fully documented. I received no negative feedback or comments. <br> <br>After the 3rd visit, I was notified that the manager I had been working with wasn't at Britepaths any longer. A different, senior program manager, emailed me to express their appreciation for my willingness to volunteer, confirmed their understanding of my one-afternoon-per-week schedule, and asked when I could be available for a continued training session to support the transition after the old manager left. I replied to confirm for the following Thursday afternoon. <br> <br>That Thursday morning, I emailed to confirm I'd be in around 1pm, and received a reply that that week's volunteer work had already been completed, and was asked to come in at my normal time next Wednesday. When I came in next Wednesday afternoon, a 3rd, different Senior Program Manager invited me to their office and explained that my Wednesday afternoon schedule wouldn't work for Britepaths, and suggested I find somewhere else to volunteer. There was no room for further discussion or explanation. I left feeling like they chewed me up and spit me out, and ultimately regret getting involved with Britepaths. The complete 180 from starting onboarding and appreciation to being shown the door, was jarring and unpleasant.

End Hunger Network has the insight and capabilities to not just help with hunger in one community, but rearrange the basis for how we evaluate hunger across the United States. The mission and vision of this organization is to work at a higher strategic level in order to create long lasting structural changes in the world of hunger. I very much enjoy working with this organization.

Do your job. get a new Chief. Start respecting the public. Patrol ALL neighborhoods. Stop ignoring reports of teacher repeatedly touching children. Police often turning on sirens to speed through traffic then suddenly turn off and continues on with no emergency. Too many worse things to even mention. Etc etc etc etc etc<br> Citizens paying for bad service, lack of service.

I've been volunteering with GOTR NOVA for the last seven years and I love the program's mission and execution. I believe instilling confidence in young girls is a great way to make the world a better place and, after cheering at the finish line for many end of season 5Ks, I can say that this program really does achieve that goal. The sense of accomplishment when over 2,000 participants, some of whom had certainly never contemplated running 3.1 miles in a go before the season began, achieve the goal they have been working toward for months is so inspiring that I'm always happy to wake up early to be a part of it.

AFL is one of my favorite nonprofits. They provide free fitness classes and one on one training for people with disabilities. It is something that is desperately needed for the community. AFL has helped motivate me to workout, learn new exercises, and has helped me gain confidence by improving my mental health. I am so thankful to be involved with AFL.

As the founding Executive Director of Infant Massage USA (IMUSA), I have been blessed to be of service to the organization and witness its exponential growth over the years. Our work has been shared with thousands and thousands of parents and babies across the country to help them experience the many benefits of infant massage for babies, parents and their communities. When IMUSA was founded, we energetically reached out to agencies and programs across the country. It has been rewarding to see how we have expanded and have been able to reach more and more families. Our Board has grown over the years and been effective in establishing goal and objective to support the growth. The Staff has worked passionately to achieve the goals and work with the Trainers and Certified Educators of Infant Massage (CEIMs) to provide the needed support. The Board and Staff have made wise decision to effectively move the organization forward and be in tune with the needs of our audience and it’s members. The enthusiasm, encouragement and responsiveness of the staff has built a harmonious atmosphere that spills over through the multiple outlets they have created. <br><br>The talents, skills and communication has brought IMUSA to a stable and productive position to support our mission “so parents and babies feel loved valued and respected through the world community. . <br><br>

Amba Farmers is an effective non-profit that is making an impact in lives of People in Western Africa specially in Cameroon and Nigeria. <br>despite the hard political environment they are doing very well, and expect them to deliver more in few years to come. because they have a growing community of supporters and also the beneficiaries. <br>Amba Farmers is such an amazing NGO that deserves more support in order to make difference and positive change in lives of people in Africa!

I’ve been supporting this ministry for over a decade. The people who work and volunteer there have a passion for life and helping others. You will not find a more caring group of people. They do great work on a small budget.

We love working with BVL! We can designate our funds to go to our local veterans home as well. They do great things for our Veterans and we love them!!

My daughter is an Arlington resident with special needs. In our community the term 'falling off the cliff' pertains to leaving secondary school. There is really nothing other than good intentions and adult day care on the other side. That is until 2018 when Our Stomping Grounds came into being. <br><br>See below for some information about us, we currently have one paid staff person but we run hours of community programming using volunteers. Youth transitioning to adulthood face many barriers, including difficulties finding jobs and a scarcity of affordable housing. Most live at home with aging parents and experience social isolation. Following the model of Main Street, in Rockville, MD, OSG partnered with the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) to establish small communities within affordable apartment complexes to serve the settlement agreement population. There was a lot of interest—250 people showed up for the initial meeting. OSG follows the “housing first” model, which regards independent housing and a basic right and primary service and then builds supports around it. OSG contributes an “overlay” of supports in order to provide meaningful day activities and help integrate residents into the wider community. Technology provided by SafeinHome has been instrumental in augmenting the safety and independence of residents. <br><br> Currently, there are two OSG communities in Arlington – at Gilliam Place and Queen’s Court. Gilliam Place was constructed on land donated by the Arlington Presbyterian Church. Residents have access to affordable rents and received supports from families, live-in caregivers and/or through the DD Medicaid waiver. Some examples of the sponsored activities available to residents and DD nonresidents of Arlington include daily walks, trips to the library, dinners, book discussion groups, game nights, and weekly clean-ups at Theodore Roosevelt Island. OSG also provides supports for the non-DD building residents, including tutoring for school-age children during the pandemic. OSG is also in discussions with Therapeutic Recreation to perhaps offer recreation co located at our various sites. <br><br> OSG needs long-term financial support expand its operations to other communities and to become a permanent, sustainable model. It currently relies extensively on volunteers, but needs a full-time “community builder” position in each community to coordinate and run community activities. OSG membership fees are nominal and it receives private donations; it is also applying for grants to supply additional funding. <br><br>

I just had the worst imaginable experience with this rescue. They are highly unethical and their priorities are skewed. They do not act in the best interest of the dog or treat people volunteering to help them kindly. I would not recommend adopting or fostering or volunteering with this rescue.

I've worked at OAR for more than 20 years. It is a great organization with great people and an amazing mission.

Angel Aid Cares is a wonderful organization that is dedicated to supporting rare moms. We have seen them help people in our SYNGAP1 community and we have attended their events. Attention to detail and genuine concern for the individual is remarkable.
