A Purposeful Life Animal Rescue, a new rescue that just started in Fall 2022, fills a unique niche in Northeast Iowa by focusing -- in its initial mission -- on rescues of stray and surrendered LOCAL pets. In contrast, other rescues are bringing in many pets from other parts of the country, which adds to the workload of local veterinary clinics that are already stretched thin. APL also practices transparency in its social media postings, which is appreciated. Finally, it is led by a passionate young Director whose Facebook stories about pets with special medical needs as well as made-in-heaven adoptions are very compelling.

I've went to the Mississnewa 1812 pretty much every year since it started except for a couple of years i've watched it grow bigger and bigger and the price right along with it. Then i started wondering if any of the money that is made during this event is kicked back to the Native Americans that were part of this so called battle of Mississnewa. If not you have to ask yourselves is that fair because it doesn't seem fair to me but, thats just me. It seems to me that the Native Americans have been treated unfairly ever since we came to this country which i think is very wrong. Well thats how i feel about the event that is done every year and by the way i wont be attending until this is fixed.

We went in to help a puppy find a forever home, and were very happy with one in-particular. We jumped through hoops for this place, filled out the application, invited them to our home for a home visit and waited twice as long as other for an answer. We were even asked to offer up more information than the application asked for and we did without hesitation. We spent hours there playing with a puppy we believed was going to be ours, but in the end were discriminated against for being a new home owner with "a less than stable fence". We have had this house for less than 6 months and it was purchased in the fall (this being spring at time of review) so need-less to say outside repairs are difficult in the winter. But despite all that they could not tell me anything wrong at the time of the home visit. It seemed plausible, that we would have a new member of the family. But in the end were denied for what seems like bogus reasons, the only explanation we got was "It's on a case by case basis". But here's the kicker, an elderly man brought back his adopted pet while I was in there because he couldn't house train the dog and it kept running away because he HAD NO FENCE. So how willing is this place to help these animals at the end of the day? I for one will never donate, refer or attend any function this place is hosting or benefiting from. Please ask around before adopting from this shelter. Find out if anyone you know has had a bad experience with them.

This is an great preschool. We keep our priorities with keeping God in our curriculum. We strive for excellence in all aspects of our school. The teachers/staff/board members all have a heart for teaching His little ones about him and preparing them for Kindergarten
