We have nothing but great things to say about VAC. They are responsive, friendly, always follow through and offer an extremely important service. We have been working with VAC for almost 15 years now. Recently, our family of 5 was flown down to Chattanooga for a veteran focused fundraising event and it was a phenomenal experience. Our pilot and his wife were extremely helpful and accommodating to our families needs, and I believe we have made friends for life. Great work - this is a highly valuable service!!

I’ve had a really great experience volunteering as a dog walker at the APA in Missouri. You can tell the staff genuinely care about the animals and go above and beyond to get them into good homes. Every time I come back, there’s a whole new group of dogs, which really shows how effective they are at placements. They also make it very easy to volunteer. I work full time, so I appreciate being able to stop in when I can and still feel like I’m helping. Communication is clear and consistent, and everything runs smoothly. Overall, it’s been a really positive experience and a great organization to be a part of.

KEEN St. Louis is an incredible program for families and children to feel empowered and enjoy interacting with volunteers and other athletes while having fun and learning their full potential! I have loved being a part of this organization including volunteering, donating through the annual KEEN gala, and being a Board Member. We focus on helping and supporting families through interaction with them and getting to know more of the community. The organization is incredible and offered completely free, which is amazing!

The founder is hypocritical and gives her daughter and favorite special treatment. They don’t seem to genuinely care about the dogs. If you say something or act they don’t like, they spread lies and rumors to damage your reputation and try to get you blacklisted from rescues.

This nonprofit was created in 2006 to focus on the care and conservation of Asian elephants in range countries. We are a totally voluntary NGO: no salaries, no tips, we cover our own travel and other expenses related to being a director/officer, and we also donate a minimum of $250 annually to the nonprofit We are a small board, consisting of 5 individuals. We fund throughout the year, as grant submission are presented. We can act quickly and are able to get emergency funds wired within 24 hours. We help vets and mahouts(elephant caregivers)/owners (not always the same person) learn more about keeping their elephants healthy, including medical supplies as needed. We also fund presentations for villages and schools to help rural communities find safer and more successful ways to coexist with elephants. For wild populations, medical care is sometimes needed and collaring wild elephants helps protect both them and people, by showing when such elephant/s are heading toward villages.

I didn’t have a good experience with Live at Peace (LAP). The church I was working at hired them to handle a case of violence against me involving another staff member. This staff member had been manipulative, controlling, and dishonest about me, which led to an intervention meeting with the pastor, an elder, and the staff member. Unfortunately, the meeting escalated when the staff member reacted violently to the accusations, physically trying to attack me while threatening to "air me out."<br><br>LAP was brought in to help resolve the situation, but they handled it poorly—especially when it came to communication. We had four sessions: the first three were individual meetings with a counselor, and the fourth was with their senior advisor, Daniel Teater, the staff member, and me. In that session, Daniel effectively identified and addressed the staff member's toxic behavior and even asked me to step out to speak with him privately because the staff member refused to admit any wrongdoing. Daniel confirmed that the staff member showed signs of toxic leadership and had a history of violent behavior, including legal issues—something even the church was unaware of.<br><br>Daniel assured me that he would communicate these findings to the church and advise them on how to proceed. However, it took him over six weeks to send his report, and when the church finally received it, it was shockingly inaccurate. None of the serious issues Daniel had identified were mentioned. Instead, the report downplayed the staff member's behavior and even suggested that I had been "stonewalling" him, which shifted some of the blame onto me.<br><br>This poor handling from LAP not only misrepresented the situation but also strained my relationship with the church. I had expressed that I wasn’t comfortable continuing to work there, knowing the staff member’s history and the church's decision to keep him on staff despite the violence. LAP’s failure to deliver an accurate and timely report ultimately worsened tensions between the church, the staff member, and me. I would not recommend LAP due to their ineffective communication and mishandling of a serious situation.

I started volunteering at CARE STL in 2024. It’s incredible to see what they do with the limited resources they have. The amount of love they give animals is truly astounding. I look forward to the days I get to go and walk the dogs that deserve loving homes. If you can - foster & adopt from CARE. They are the best!

I cannot say enough good things about All Secure and the impact Tom, Jen, and Stacy have had on my life. If it was not for their help I'm not sure I would be here today. They helped me in so many ways. First and foremost they helped me retire a guilt I had been carrying around for years that had been weighing me down signficantly both personally and professionally. Second, they tought me how to banish shame and feel good about the person I am and the things I have accomplished. Third, they gave me the tools I needed to lead a better life and have better relationships both personally and professionally. Finally, when you have low points, they are ALWAYS there to coach you through them. They are angels to me...and can be to you too if you reach out. I cannot think of a better group of people to help you if you are suffering from PTSD, Survivors Guilt, or related conditions. They rock!!

Years ago, this company was involved in taking high school students on college tours from the high school I worked at. Since then, I have supported them and been part of activities that they have had to help make the community alert and help them with tutoring services, holiday family adoption, and being an active part of the community for summer camps and younger children movement sessions. I was asked and honored to become a board member.

Tenth Life Cat Rescue has been a community that I have been proud to be a part of. I've been able to help so many kitties find their furever home, and have found some wonderful people to work with. This organization has been a bright spot in my life and I'm grateful to be a part of it.

We are immensely grateful to the staff at CID and to all those who support their mission. Without their support, it would not have been possible for Gabi to attend this incredible school where love and dedication impacts the lives of hearing impaired children. What a priceless gift that our daughter was one of them. CID welcomed our daughter like a member of their family, and always rereferred to her as "our Gabi". <br>We believe that the exceptional education our daughter received will always be a part of who she is. The skills learned at CID have empowered her to navigate through new experiences in her new school. After separating from the military, I began to isolate myself because I was missing a sense of belonging and purpose. Thankfully, I came across The Mission Continues and found a new sense of purpose and motivation to serve my community. The Mission Continues gave me the opportunity to discover the skills I developed in the military and apply them to something positive.

This nonprofit may have started with well meaning intentions, but now it’s 100 percent a shell organization used to prop up the ambitions of a social justice influencer. Grant money received by this org will fund the $100k salaries of its three c-suite employees. A simple Google search on this org would quickly prove how little impact this once high-potential organization has ultimately had on the communities they claim to champion. Unfortunately, this is symbolic of the larger perversion of social justice work in STL, overtaken by big egos and “girl bosses.” You’d be better off donating to the hundreds of animal/pet related non profits proliferating throughout this city, as they’re at least doing measurable work and you’ll know where your money is really going.

They go above and beyond to try to make sure that the caretakers for dogs and cats have accessible to affordable spay/neuter and wellness options.

Was not sure how they could help but when we decided to attend their event, we met so many different organizations. If we had not gone to this event we would have stayed home and continued to just do our thing. I have a hard time meeting new people or getting out. Thank you for bringing everyone together!

Donating in the memory of Kenneth B Perkins, a co-founder of VFP, Inc, who passed on March 27, 2023, at the age of 91. During the Korean War, he had served three tours as a corpsman on The Haven, the world's largest hospital ship. He tended to the wounded above and beyond the call of duty, foregoing a medal for his bravery in saving lives. He co-founded a Quaker Meeting in Winthrop, ME, which collected used medical equipment and supplies that he helped deliver to Nicaragua to alleviate suffering during the Contra War and to show support for ending the war. He participated in VFP counter-recruitment activities in area schools. He is remembered for his witty sense of humor, intellectual curiosity, compassionate mind, love of nature (rain or shine), and commitment to pushing himself and others to be our best, humanitarian selves.

Paraquad's Employment Services has provided me with some great staff for my restaurant! It's great knowing that I get prescreened candidates with the skill sets needed to work in my kitchen. They even provide job coaches when needed for the applicants!

This is a first class organization that supports the community!

Re: the DONOR & VOLUNTEER ADVISORY stating "This organization's nonprofit status may have been revoked or it may have merged with another organization or ceased operations." <br>That statement may be because this organization that supports the Saint Louis Zoo is now known as the "Saint Louis Zoo Association." (I believe the EIN has also been changed). <br> <br>I fondly remember the many, many trips my mom Frances and I would take during the summers of my boyhood by public transportation from our home in Old North St. Louis to the zoo. Back then (the late 1950s/early 1960s), the zoo was more about entertainment then education (as was true of most zoos back then) and while the animal enclosures would allow you to get "up close and personal" with many of the animals, they were really not the best for the animals' wellbeing. <br> <br>A lot has changed since then, and today the Zoo's animals enjoy much more roomy and natural habitats and the Zoo emphasizes educating people on the perilous state many animals find themselves in in the wild. The Saint Louis Zoo is one of the most consistently highly rated and popular zoos in the USA and (unusual for a zoo of its caliber, admission is FREE). While it receives taxpayer funding, it relies heavily on individual contributors and the Saint Louis Zoo Association is a nonprofit organization that provides much needed support.

Love in Action is just what it says, Ms. Imani & Sed are truly genuine people of God. They go out of their way and comfort zone to serve anyone. Call them reach out to them and see for yourself.<br>LaRossa- Volunteer

Was desperately trying to find a home for my 80-year-old mother's cat. Her only income is Social Security. Gave details of situation in email to them. Made mention that she was selling her house and couldn't take the cat with her. THEY SAID THEY WOULD TAKE THE CAT IF WE PAID THEM $3,000 AND THAT THEY TYPICALLY DON'T ADOPT CATS OUT!!!!! NO MISTAKE on the amount or adoption comment - I know how many zeroes represent a thousand. Need proof for this ridiculous claim? To care for a young cat for its entire life, which is what we do (we typically do not adopt out), is $3000. I know that seems like a lot up front but if you divide that over 16-18 years it's $160 per year. If this is something you'd like to do, please let us know.<br>

The Resource Center has been our lifeline as we navigate our child's Fragile X diagnosis. The Resource Center helps raise funds for a cure, and also, hosts events and outings for Fragile X families. Raising a child with disabilities has been the most difficult challenge of my life, and I am thankful to have found the Resource Center. We need more people to hear about Fragile X, so more funding can go towards finding a cure. We need more awareness so that events and businesses create environments that are welcoming to individuals with Fragile X. The Resource Center is our catalyst towards making this a reality! Please, strongly consider donating to the Resource Center. They directly impact the Fragile X community in a positive way!
