My child had a terrible experience at Kroka. My child attends a reasonable private school but they really missed the mark when deciding to send the grade to Kroka as an end of year trip. Just to start, Kroka did not "believe" in time. They would not let the students know what time it was, and a counselor even said if a student did not remove her watch she would"remove it for her". Now the force feeding. Plainly, Kroka staff forced fed the children. They forced them to take much food and made them finish it all. If after much pressuring if the student still refused to finish it, the staff wouldn't let them have the next meal. Additionally, if a student dropped their food on the ground they could not get more, they were forced to eat it. The staff sent the children out into the woods for a "scavenger hunt", with only. compass They said that if the students got lost they must walk north to the road and ask a stranger for directions. They had the kids participate in cult like rituals such as holding hands and chanting before every meal. They forced children to do chores around the farm such as sweeping and sanding a newly built deck. And for the worst event, there was an activity for who could chop would the fastest. There was little to no instruction on how to use an axe. A child hit herself in the ankle with the axe and another child passed out because of the blood. The wounded girl had to be taken to the hospital and received 10 stitches. After this incident, the staff still FORCED children to chop wood with axes even when they expressed their discomfort. After many kids were uncontrollably crying and begging to go home, the school had the children leave 4 days early. Overall, Kroka is an appalling place that MUST be investigated for child endangerment.
