I had blood cancer, headed for a bone transplant. While I was in limbo, waiting for a donor to pop into my world, my doctor suggested I enter into a drug study looking into new drug to manage MPN blood cancer. The only study close-ish to me was in San Antonio, Tx.a 5 hr drive. I had to drive into San Antonio once a month, I stayed in hotels that offered cancer patient discounts. Rescu Helped cover a percentage of the gas and hotel for those visits. A vital help for me back then! A good donor match did appear finally! I underwent a successful bone marrow transplant in 2024. My doctor felt the study drug helpful in my successful outcome.. I don't have blood cancer anymore. Rescu is a gift from heaven!

Our college has partnered with EALgreen for quite a few years now and they have always been extremely helpful for us and our students! Our students are very grateful for the aid that EALgreen is able to provide for them and our college is happy to be working with them! We have also went through a change of staff, so I personally was new and needed to know how to properly work with EALgreen. Our contact, Maitreyi, has been wonderful in helping us through our transition and guiding us through the processes. They have been a crucial partner in providing additional funding for students to make their dreams of attending our college come true! Their impact on the college landscape has been life-changing for us and the students they work diligently to serve. We are very grateful to be partnered with such as wonderful and non-profit that maximizes the good they do for society. FT Cares has been supporting the work of my nonprofit, Normal Moments, for years. When the original sponsor for our Holiday Meals program for families financially challenged by the needs of their medically complex/challenged children, FT Cares stepped in and has been a consistent friend to Normal Moments and the families we serve. The staff is incredible and their support is critical to our community!

I heard about The Awakenings Project right after I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I was in school for art in Bloomington, IL. <br> I heard there was an artists' shared studio space for people with mental illness in Glen Ellyn, IL near where I lived. I was dealing with a lot at the time and did not become involved with Awakenings until years later. Immediately I felt a sense of community and compassion between the members. No one judged, they just appreciated and encouraged one another. Many years later I am happy to say we still have community, compassion, appreciation for one another, and continued encouragement and support. The Awakenings Project takes mental illness and demonstrates the artistic beauty, vulnerability, and strength that come from within those living with it. I am very thankful to be part of such a treasured organization.

Donating to People's Resource Center is easy and the options are varied. PRC communicates regularly with volunteers and donors to outline their immediate and on-going needs. There is always a way to help the organization to help others in our community. For example, right now they have a goal to provide 1,000 supply-filled backpacks to students this fall. They provide multiple ways to help including donating funds, donating goods, or purchasing specific items directly off online wishlists that then get sent directly to PRC. It couldn't be easier or quicker to help others in our community in a way that works best for you.

J. U.S.T. helps inmates of the DuPage County Correctional Center return to our community by offering Spiritual Enrichment, Addiction Recovery, Vocational and Life Skills through classes and programs, hundreds of volunteers and the support of our community. As a board member, I have seen it first hand. It is a great organization that is doing great work for those who want and need it.

Broadway Industries provides training for work skills and provides employment to individuals with disabilities. <br>They have a Thrift Store that they operate and provide a great service to our community.

I love this organization. They take caring to a higher level. I wanted to help and foster kittens and cats. They gave me everything I needed to get started & helped every step of the way. They gave me strategies for teaching good behavior, socializing and healthcare for the kittens.

I have had a great experience volunteering with DuPage Habitat. Friendly staff and lead volunteers. And they are doing great work for our communities.

If you are trying to adopt a cat, I would not go here, EVER! My family and I tried to adopt a cat that was at our local pet store. Once the woman contacted me, she had a ton of questions for me and also wanted to contact my vet to see if my other pets were vaccinated. That much I could deal with. After a second-lengthy phone conversation, we set up a time to have an in-home visit due to the fact that we have dogs who have never been around cats. (Please keep that in mind.) <br><br>When she finally arrived at my house (late), she let the cat roam and interact with us. We were loving the cat and she was loving us. We set up a room just for the cat so that she could be introduced to the dogs; a sun room with glass doors. We brought our first dog out. He saw the cat and was growling very quietly, not in a threatening manner at all. She informed me that she needed to call someone to see if this was normal. All I was wondering was, why are you doing an in-home visit with dogs and cats if you have no experience. She didn't even explain to the other person that it was a non-aggressive growl, only that he was growling. A couple minutes later, my dog lost interest in the cat and walked away.....yeah, very threatening huh. She then did a kennel test with the cat in the kennel and my dog just sniffed the kennel for a few minutes then walked away. No growling or anything. He was more interested in treats than the cat, which she stated herself.<br><br>Let me also note that any time my dog would go near her, she would cringe and make faces. Clearly she did not like dogs!<br><br>Dog number two comes out and he immediately starts barking at her.....stranger danger. Typical reaction from a dog to a stranger. Within a minute he was licking all over her, which I stopped him, and he was fine. We showed him the cat and he started barking. Without giving him any time to acclimate and WITH TEARS IN HER EYES (seriously?!?!), she stated, this is not going to happen.<br><br>First of all, she did not even give them a chance to acclimate. Dogs tend to bark at new things, but quickly stop if given the chance. She had her own biased opinions because of a past experience with another dog.....dog, not dogs, DOG. She would not let this cat into a perfectly good, loving home because of her biases and the fact that she was clearly anti-dogs. She has no business working with a rescue and should not be allowed to continue. I will quickly tell anyone not to use this rescue....which I already have and due to my experience, they are not. I would give this place less than one star if I could!!!!! Adopter beware!

Mission Quest has been a lifesaver! I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate their fast response times, clear communication, and trust that I have that things are just going to work. I was in a precarious situation, with another organization, reached out to Mission Quest, and they responded in minutes with a phone call, and a game plan as to how to move forward. Since then everything has been so smooth. My donors have noticed a difference, and have commented on how easy the process is to donate, and communicate with Mission Quest. I don’t have to worry about anything with them. I can focus on building God’s kingdom overseas.

Our "Family" has been friends with Peter Dyneka Sr. from 1939 when we emigrated from Ukraine to Canada. I have great memories of the preaching of Peter Sr. in our country church<br>in Ontario. Our fathers were great with Peter Sr.. until God "called" them HOME.<br><br>It has been a JOY to support PDRM (and now Eurasia for all these years) . This is a fantastic, client-centered nonprofit. I took their 48-hour Issues in Domestic Violence class that they offer to volunteers and community members, and it opened my eyes to how much domestic violence is all around me, even in the "sheltered" Wheaton community. I learned about the cycle of violence, indicators of an abusive relationship, and the challenges and obstacles to seeking help for many women. The classes were led by shelter staff members, who were all very knowable about their fields, competent, professional, and full of compassion. They practice trauma-informed care and I can tell that they care deeply about the needs of their clients. I would highly recommend taking the Issues in Domestic Violence class and getting further involved with the shelter as a supporter or volunteer.

Medair United States is a branch of the international relief organization Medair. Having volunteered in headquarters for three months, I can honestly attest to the great work Medair is doing around the globe. When responding to the crisis in the Philippines, staff members left everything and were on the ground in 48 hours, responding to health and shelter needs that Typhoon Haiyan brought. <br> <br>Now, Medair staff have remained in South Sudan even amidst current internal conflict. The people are dedicated to providing relief where no one else wants to go. Everyone in the field goes through screening at headquarters and the entire community feels like a family. <br> <br>I can think of no better organization to support as Medair works to support the world's most vulnerable.

My daughter had many foster children through ECFA and I was very impressed with the training they received and the assistance during their years of being foster parents. They did adopt one of the foster babies and she is now a senior in high school. As a result of this experience, I have volunteered as a driver and a helper with the mailings. The staff is highly professional and very personable.

This organization encourages the study of family history and genealogy. It works to identify and preserve records having genealogical value in DuPage County, IL.

This community theatre provides so much to its patrons as well as its all volunteer membership. As a donor I feel my contributions are used wisely, however, I would like to see them more actively cultivate new donations rather than relying on patrons, memebers, etc. to give without being asked.

I worked at ECFA from Jan 2008 until Jan 2009 as a bilingual foster care case worker. This agency is incredibly dedicated to providing the best services possible to clients, making it one of the top foster care agencies in the state. It is structured around both the governmental requirements and a strong Evangelical Christian world view. If you are wanting to become a traditional foster parent through this agency, be prepared for some very strict religious and family lifestyle requirements. If you are a client here, you will be receiving some of the best services available. If you are looking to work at ECFA as a caseworker, be prepared for an administration that does not balance well the needs of workers to have healthy personal lives along with professional careers.

When my daughter was diagnosed with a mental illness, NAMI provided current information quickly. Then, they provided a safe place where I could meet with other parents in a similar situation. There are/were no bailouts or final solutions, just the comfort and support of others who understood and encouraged me to have hope.
