Mission: The Gay Christian Network (GCN) is the preeminent interdenominational organization supporting LGBT Christians and those who love them. GCN provides resources and support to help individuals reconcile their faith and sexuality, builds interconnected networks of supportive Christian communities, and works with families, friends, and churches to create respectful dialogue on sexual orientation issues. GCN is best known for its moderated online "safe space" community, where over 13,000 people offer one another support, prayer, fellowship, and understanding in an affirming faith-based environment. This crucial support outlet is available to anyone in the world with an internet connection and regularly saves the lives of teens and adults alike. GCN's weekly podcast, YouTube video series, and Bible study materials educate and inspire gay and straight Christians around the world, while the organization's annual conference, welcoming church network, and local groups provide important face-to-face opportunities for worship, support, and community. GCN's groundbreaking new documentary, Through My Eyes, chronicles the interactions of conservative churches and gay Christian youth and is already changing hearts and minds in the church in a profound way to promote the full support of LGBT people.

GCN has been a place of hope and community for me. One can post prayer requests and get support when in the lowest of times - often, for many of us, when we come out and our fellow Christians denigrate and hurt us. Finding support - even if it is from someone far away - is essential to our learning to accept ourselves. I have not personally experienced organized in-person community on a more local or regional basis in person through GCN; perhaps that is an area for improvement.

The work of The Gay Christian Network is not something you can quantify. You can't put it into words. You can't fit it into a box. The kind of work organizations like GCN do is life-giving. It, in a few inadequate words, allows the "gay" person or the person with "same-sex attractions" to experience that they are loved - whether they act out on those feelings or not. GCN loves and affirms one where they are. There is no pressure. There is a prayer board. There is discussion. There is community. I have experienced the power of the love and concern of people for me that I have never met before; a kind of love and support that literally keeps you going. Things can be dark in this world for someone with gay feelings - sometimes especially within religious settings. To hear that God loves you no matter what anyone has to say about it - no matter what your position is on whatever - is something I can't describe. Non-profits like GCN undoubtedly deserve our respect and appreciation.

This organization is eerily similar to the same churches the protest against. From the outside they look like a safe-haven; a place where you can learn and grow in Christ while being open and honest about who you are without the fear of condemnation or judgment. However, once one becomes active within the community they find it is a terribly different story. You are severely restricted on your ability to share ideas if it goes against the general consensus and will become a target of threats and condemnation if you stand firm to what you believe in. Psychologically speaking this site is a very detrimental site to the recovery of those who are seeking help from it. I have several reasons for saying this. First; their idea of support is enabling those seeking support to continue to wallow in their problems while providing them with no more than half hearted, truly empty positive affirmations. However their guise of Christian is no more than that. In promoting the sovereignty of Christ on that site, along with faith in Him and the Word you place yourself at being ejected from the site. They will so hatefully condemn the heterosexual community for their lack of acceptance just to turn around and do the same to those who come to their site seeking fellowship w/other bible believing homosexuals. I would not donate to this site whatsoever as it is unfruitful; a fact that is evident from it's stagnation in development and technology in spite of it's decade in existence. Any homosexuals, or family members of homosexuals seeking spiritual support would be better going to Exodus International. While I do not believe with Exodus International's agenda to make everyone "ex-gay" their practices and faith are more consistent with Christs teaching and they do stand a better chance of inciting personal growth within those who reach out to them. --M. This is a great place for christians who are gay to find fellowship and acceptance. The people are true followers of God and are always looking to help those who are struggling to finding there identities, or help those who have loved ones in their lives that are find acceptance with them. They truly seek to bridge the gap between faith and sexuality that has broken or severely damaged families and persons of same-sex attraction.

GCN has been a real blessing to me. To meet so many people from so many different backgrounds who all share this one thing in common- being gay and still strongly desiring to be close to God, has and is having a profound impact on me. I see more hope for my future now then I ever have in my past. I've went from feeling all was ending in my life, that I was unworthy of life, and that I had something seriously worng with me as a human being, to feeling now I have an important place in this world just like everyone else, that my life can mean something special to others, that I do belong here, and that I can make something good of my life. I never thought this was possible before. But I'm learning now it is. GCN has afforded me the opportunity to learn from so many other people, to hear their stories and experiences and be able to relate to every single one of them on a deep level. I know the things I take from GCN are things no one can take away from me. I know the longer I stay involved with this organization the more my life will change for the better. I can really see positive things happening. And I see it happing all the time for so many others who are connected with this organization.

GCN is a wonderful organization. I have struggled with reconciling my faith and sexual oreintation for my whole life, and it has been hazardous to my health more often than once.

Until I found GCN, I didn't have the possibility of ever finding that resolution and revolution in my thinking. The change in my life as a result of GCN has been drastic and overwhelmingly positive.

I can honestly say that I probably would be dead at my own hands without the Gay Christian Network's ministry.

Thank you, GCN!

GCN is an organization which bridges the gap between gay people and Christians. We have the unenviable position of standing in between worlds as we attempt to grow in our understanding of ourselves and God. Every day more and more people become a part of this family as we all attempt to reach for the unconscious goal of every human; to be loved as God made us.

AS a christian man it is most difficult to go to church or at times to be apart of the Christian religion when so much gay bashing seems to be the norm within the christian community. I have not yet had the pleasure to attend at GCN conference. However the GCN web site has so much information to aid a person struggling to come to terms with their own sexuality. I have listened to several of the radio broadcasts and it is difficult to explain just how some of the interviews gave me a word of encouragement at a moment when I so needed it. If I can say it without sounding perhaps shallow, the GCN website is a great internet friend. I hope to attend the GCN conference in January 2012 in Orlando FL.

As a Christian minister I realize that the LGBTQ has been all too often demonized b y the Church, leading those of faith in the community with no where to turn and causing folks to feel bad about themselves.
GCN is a marvelous antidote to this. They do great work, and are firmly committed to both people and Christ.

The Gay Christian Network (GCN) helps thousands of Christians who are gay or lesbian, to gain a positive attitude towards their homosexuality. There is still a lot of hate and discrimination towards homosexuals these days, especially within churches. Therefore, the work of GCN is urgently needed, and can help building bridges.

I became part of the Gay Christian Network after I had mostly come to terms with my faith and sexuality, a struggle to which most of their resources are devoted. It has been incredibly encouraging, nonetheless, for me to find a community of other gay Christians, and I have even met my partner through the site.

I treasure the friendships that I have formed on GCN, however, and the site will always have value if for no other reason than providing those.

GCN is an organization that has been helping folks who are struggling with reconciling their sexual orientation with their faith. I have been heavily involved with them for three years, and have seen first hand the difference that this organization has made in the lives of those who are members and those who seek guidance and support. Often, this organization is among the first contacts a person makes on their journey of reconciliation. The staff, while modest in numbers, is augmented by over 100 volunteer leaders and many thousands of active members.

Giving Hope and a Natural atmosphere of Acceptance is the most powerful surroundings for any support group. There are minorities within all groups of minorities and all are being accepted and supported in GCN, not all board members and leaders of a network can pull this off like they have done and are committed to continue.

GCN has had my support for a long time, just after I attended their first annual conference gathering in Dallas. Never had I seen this world in such a new light as during the days of that conference, social settings and prayer.

The Gay Christian Network (or GCN as we like to call it) has been an amazing resource that has changed my life in a very positive way. I have met so many wonderful friends that share both my faith and my journey to reconcile my faith and my sexuality.

I am very fortunate to be in an area with a very large and active GCN community. We get together and have potlucks, Bible studies, game nights, Christmas parties, birthday parties, or just about anything else that we can make an excuse to get together for. It's a great community both online and offline and has made such a positive difference in my life. This year I was able to attend the annual GCN Conference. The speakers were amazing and once again I was blessed by this ministry.

I'm very glad that its the first result on Google when you search for "gay christian." It has helped thousands of LGBT people in need and I know they will continue to do so.

GCN is an amazing organization which provides support and resources to people who want to find a way to reconcile their faith with their sexual orientation, and to the people who love them. When people within our church responded with judgment and rejection to our efforts to have an honest discussion about this issue, GCN provided the safety, support, and Christian fellowship we needed. GCN is a lifeline where most churches fall short. Our son is one among many who might not be alive today without GCN.

In a world that's often quite hostile towards gay people, the church regretfully plays a unhelpful role (to put it mildly). Many people assume that the Bible condemns homosexuality and they take this for granted, without even bothering to check the facts. We need more gay christians who have the knowledge, the compassion and the courage to face these challenges head on. GCN plays an important role in this discussion and at the same time it helps gay christians to build their own community.

GNC was a website a Christian friend found for me after my daughter came out to me. When I told my daughter about it, all she could say was, "Christian and Gay are two words I never would have put together". All she had read on the internet was very hateful words which made her think that she could no longer belong to the family of God, and that her father and I would no longer love her once we found out she was gay. (because we are Christian) We went to their convention and found some healing and a feeling of belonging that has been missing for some time. There is still so much hurt though, and so much reconciling to be done. I really hope you consider this non-profit worthy of attention and support.

GCN has been the most important website in my life. It was because of this site that I learned that I was not alone, that there were many other Christian men just like myself that struggled their whole life with same sex attraction. I had been trained prior to believe that I lacked faith and was defective spiritually and it was my fault that God refused to hear my consistent prayers for an alteration of my orientation. Without GCN I might never have received the inner peace that I have now and I don't know if my walk with God would still exist. And now I am connected with other Christians in my area and not only connect on the website but also in person.

This community is open and accepting and there to help and support all Gay Christians and their family.

GCN is the most amazing group of Christian people. 3 years my life was a mess I was attending a church that did not accept homosexuals. I would attend church and pray that the Lord would fix me and all week I would push back all my thought s and feelings holding them inside. never talking about them for fear that my family and church family would hate me as much as i hated myself. Then one day I will never forget it I sat at the computer and a google search for gay Christians. What I found was my new church home. I was welcomed with open arms and told that I was ok, that it is ok to be me. I joined in the message boards and quickly made friends that will be in my life forever. Through those Godly friendships I learned that it is ok to be gay and that Gods love is not only for the perfect christian man that walks the straight and narrow. but God loves me just as I am.
