Review for The Gay Christian Network, Raleigh, NC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I believe this organization is helping the world be more understanding of the LGBT Community... especially in the spiritual area of life.

To me, it has served as a psychological stress-relieving place that I could share my opinions and finally be myself. It got me ready for the OUTSIDE WORLD.. and helped me understand that there is always someone out there that undestands you.

This organization is NOT ONLY helping people that have a hard time with their sexuality .. whether trying to accept it or facing judgement... It actually opens a window of understanding to EVERYONE. An example would be.. how many times have you heard 'Christians are supposed to be loving, not judging', and i myself could not agree more! I believe this community IS one of those true-loving communities, and that CONCEPT of not judging may be embraced by other communities that, unfortunately, probably do not see that the way to bring Christ to the lives of people is to actually show EXAMPLES OF HIM, not using his words to make people feel GUILTY. Present Christ with LOVE!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

When I was younger.. I used to feel so isolated at school AND home.. because I could only imagine the reactions of the people and family around me if they knew I was gay. When I got home during those times, I would log into the community and actually feel like I was at the place I should have been all along. The entire community felt like my FAMILY.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would seriously start to find ways to expand it. That IS what needs to be done, and one day it will grow. I pray that it will! PLEASE HELP THIS COMMUNITY GROW! :)

Role:  Volunteer & I have actually thought of joining GCN in a way to contribute with their staff -- meaning, not just as volunteer or donator. But to date, all I do is actually spread the word of this community, helping others feel like they have true Christ-loving friends.
