Strength for Life has truly given me exactly what its name says: Strength for Life! I absolutely LOVE this organization! 10 months after my initial Stage 4 cancer diagnosis, I had minimal energy and felt weak when I stepped into my very first physical strengthening class and I haven't looked back since! I honestly don't know what condition I would be in without this incredible group of people. Strength For Life doesn't only offer exercise classes, they offer amazing retreats that teach us integrative ways to cope with our diagnoses and the opportunity to meet and spend time with other people with cancer. I recently attended a retreat that was just for women who have been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer and it was extremely well planned and very, very inspirational. They have my endless thanks for everything they have done for me.

I am so incredibly grateful for this phenomenal organization. I first tried a physical strengthening class with Debbie a little less than a year ago, yet I feel like I have been taking part forever. Despite there being countless other things, I can do on a Monday night, Monday nights are nonnegotiable for me. As long as there is class, I will be there! When I first started, there was only one other person in the class. Because of Debbie's exuberance and continual outreach, our class has grown enormously, we are getting physically stronger, and Debbie individualizes instruction and continually finds ways to challenge us, so we continue to get even stronger. I have Stage 4 Metastatic cancer and Strength for Life has excited me so much about exercise that I seek out other ways to exercise outside of class. A recent Strength for Life retreat purposely connected me with an amazing group of other women with Metastatic Cancer. It also gave me multiple integrative options for my self care toolbox. Love, love, love this organization and family!

I am so grateful to have heard about Strength For Life, an amazing organization of dedicated volunteers, through a colleague. I didn’t know what to expect when I participated in my first exercise class but was hoping for the motivation to regain my strength and stamina (mission accomplished!). Little did I know that I would also receive so much empathy, compassion and emotional support from both the instructors and fellow classmates. I look forward to and continue to attend the exercise classes every week and am looking forward to attending the retreat in August.

This review would not be complete without a special shout-out to SFL co-founder Debbie Hughes, whose positivity, energy and dedication to SFL and its members is inspirational and unparalleled. Thank you for all you do!

I'm glad I saw the Strength for Life (SFL) flyer during my doctor's visit. I thought I was just getting the benefit of an exercise class after treatment, but I received so much more. I found a supportive community that understood my challenges and, most importantly, saw the real me. It brought me laughter, and I eagerly looked forward to working out to release my daily stress.

SFL also helped to renew my love of dancing and utilizing that as alternative form exercising.

I do not have words to fully express my appreciation for SFL family, Debbie, and all associated with group. They helped me to feel my best self.

Strenth for Life is a wonderful organization. The volunteers are all dedicated and terrific. Debbie is a warm and caring person and gives an excellent workout.

The exercise classes have helped my husband tremendously emotionally and physically after his radiation treatments. The other people who attend the classes are also so inspiring.

I am also a cancer survivor and have attended a few exercise classes with my husband and have enjoyed them. It is an all-around positive experience.

Strength for Life goes above and beyond for all cancer patients and survivors.

Strength For Life is an amazing organization. The exercise classes are well run and so informative. I have learned so much and benefited tremendously. Debbie brings her expertise and knowledge to every session, her positive attitude, encouraging words, and ability to motivate everyone to improve is unparalleled. After surgery for my breast cancer I could no longer lift my arms above my shoulders and the pain, fatigue and weakness were crushing. I had made some progress on my own but after joining Strength For Life the improvement was accelerated, and the emotional holding on which seems to come from diagnosis and treatment seemed to shift. The care and support provided here is unmatched and the connections to all on this cancer journey are both uplifting and inspiring. Strength For Life is a multi-faceted program and a tremendous resource for those impacted by cancer. Please consider joining or donating to this incredible organization. It has allowed me the ability to trust my body again and know I will continue to heal. I can see the difference in myself but the biggest change I've noticed is when I look at my two children. In their eyes I can see that they know they have their mom back and she is getting stronger ever day.

Debbie is amazing in her upbeat disposition and vitality.
She does an excellent workout class as do the other instructors.
Even as the only male in the classes, I feel very comfortable in this program and I encourage other men who have had cancer to participate.
I never knew this group existed until I noticed a flyer in the Stony Brook Cancer Center and I'm so glad I did!

I first experienced the healing and fun with SFL in 2009 when first diagnosed with early stage BC. I attended exercise classes with Debbie and Jackie and was in their first wellness retreat weekend. I made friendships through those experiences that are still enriching my life. In 2019 I was diagnosed with MBC and have resumed my weekly attendance in SFL classes AKA "happy hour" and have attended another wellness retreat. Participating in SFL is part of my treatment plan. Debbie brings such hope and vitality to each and every class and being with sisters with the same challenges only lifts me up and keeps me going. SFL is welcoming, accepting, compassionate, encouraging, fun and provides hope to all who participate. SFL is as important to me and my treatment plan as my medications!!! Susan Ruffini

A SFL Wellness Weekend Retreat is amazing! There are any components to retreat: medical, spiritual, nutritional, art therapy, movement through exercise, and a fun-filled evening of music and karaoke!
Debbie, cofounder of SFL, and the other female cancer survivors make you feel welcome and accepted without judgment.
A camaraderie develops over weekend with fellow sister warriors over weekend who “get it”!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars - I would add the moon and the planets too!
Strength For Life is a nonprofit that “gets it”, when few others are able to. Through the compassion and expertise of the organizers, participants are encouraged to explore the gifts and strengths of finding themselves in the most vulnerable position of their lives.
This community of like minded people are confirmed in their experiences by being invited to explore and to share a new chapter of their lives.
It’s a support group, it’s a strength building exercise class, it’s a yoga class, it’s an essentrics class, it’s line dancing, it’s an experience in creative writing, sound healing, and reiki. Mostly, it’s a group of special people who celebrate (or learn to celebrate) the gift of life!

I had such a great time on the retreat this past weekend. It was helpful to hear other people's stories about their cancer. It was great to belong to a strong supportive group of women. Everyone was so kind and a wealth of knowledge. It was relaxing and taught us other ways to let loose and be in control. I am very grateful to have been able to participate in it. Debbie was so sweet and ran a great retreat. The ladies that ran the classes and the gentleman that ran the karaoke were all great. Everyone had a smile on their face all week. Thank you.

I will try to put into words how much I think of Debbie and Strength for Life. Hearing that I had cancer shook my very foundation to say the least. It took me a while to find support, which i desperately needed. Everyone has been wonderful but after a while they send you on your way. But now my life has totally changed. Now I have to learn to live with cancer and try to think of a future with cancer. What do i do now, how do i go ahead, do i even have a future? Meeting Debbie and having Strength for Life in my life and knowing I WILL NEVER GET KICKED OUT OR BE DONE WITH, is a tremendous comfort and blessing. I AM NOT ALONE AND WILL NEVER EVER BE ALONE AGAIN. The people I meet are compassionate, funny, interesting and most important have been on this same journey. This Club, this group, that no one would volunteer to be in, but honestly is the Best People Club. Everyone is so inspiring and uplifting. Debbie is something of a higher power. She opens her arms, her heart, and gives of her time tirelessly to be there for us. She provides all of us an incredible exercise program, with as many days as you want to go, a safe place to meet, and a platform where we are all understood. And she does all of this for free. She makes everyone feel important and special as a true friend. This Program to me would be the most important of all and should go to the top of the list because it is for Life, this new Life of trying to learn to live with cancer. The ups the downs, the physical, the mental, only which people in this club would understand. Debbie is so knowledgeable on exercising us and helping us stay healthy and moving, which is something we cannot put aside. The fact that I know her door will never shut to me personally brings tears to my eyes. I don’t know if Debbie realizes how important she is to all of us. I respect her tremendously for her knowledge, dedication and her exercise program. I look up to her for her humanity and I treasure Strength for Life, which is now a part of my LIFE.

Cancer is scary, emotional, a lot of the unknown.

Having a place where you can go and feel totally supported and uplifted is a gift beyond value.

Besides the energetic and totally wonderful hosts - Debbie and Penny, I met so many wonderful women that understood and had the compassion that is so needed. I was honored to be amongst these strong women.

The whole retreat was full of warmth, energy, fun and just what was needed.

I am grateful that an organization like Strength for Life exists. I look forward to many more activities with them.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I cannot say it enough.

Just got back from my first Wellness Retreat weekend at the Hyatt Regency.

What an incredible weekend. Sharing our personal stories- and the combination of laughing, crying, painting, meditating, dancing and singing together was the perfect remedy to heal our hearts, minds and souls.

Debra and Penny- thank you for bringing us all together and creating this sisterhood. Your energy is boundless and your dedication is so inspiring.

A huge shout out to Danny, our DJ extraordinaire- for going this distance behind the mic alongside all of us for a night of Karaoke that I'm sure we'll never forget.

The country line dancing with Sherri was so much fun- though I didn't know what I was doing half the time, and still found myself giggling all the way through it.

The painting session really brought out the creativity in all of us and the result of our collective efforts is the proof.

The Hyatt did a great job with the catering and hotel accommodations. I am so grateful to Strength for Life for the opportunity to stay overnight so we could be part of all the activities into the late night hours.

I'm honored to have shared this experience with all of you and sincerely hope we will all be together again under similar circumstances.

Looking forward to seeing what SFL has planned for future events. Until then, be well, stay positive and see you all in class soon.

Thrilled to be invited to another SFL retreat this past weekend. To be in the room with all these strong yet fragile survivors, sharing each of their stories was so emotional and uplifting. SFL brings us all together to laugh and cry together and special bonds are formed.
Then there are the fun yet a bit challenging exercise classes, walks and fundraisers. Debbie puts her heart and soul into each event!
This is the perfect program for all diagnosed with cancer! Movement, encouragement, both in body and mind keeps us strong and fighting.
Been a member now for around 8 years, will never stop! Encourage anyone diagnosed with cancer, currently or in the past to join us for this adventure. You won't regret it!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and had a double mastectomy at that time. Unfortunately, my cancer came back and metastasized in 2013. Since then, I've been truly blessed with successful treatments and very supportive family and friends. I owe a sincere debt of gratitude to Debbie and all the others who have made Strength for Life a wonderful organization and a lifeline for those going through similar challenges.

My husband and I attended the couples retreat this past weekend at the Hyatt in Hauppauge and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sharing experiences with old friends and new acquaintances was a lot of fun. As others have commented, the guests were all wonderful people, as were all those who contributed their time to make the weekend memorable not only for those living with cancer but also for those who share the struggle with their spouses and significant others. Even though my husband and I have zero singing talent, we really enjoyed the karaoke, especially after coming in last place in the Newlywed Game.

I am a breast cancer survivor since 2017, I heard about strength for life from my local cancer coalition that I was told about from another patient while we were getting chemo at the same time. What a godsend. I’ve had a lot of residual effects from the chemo and radiation and the excise classes really helped improve the aches and pains plus got me moving again! The instructor also happened to be a nutritionalist doctor so she was always giving us tips and insightful information. I met wonderful women that were going thru or had gone thru the same as me at my classes, which is so important for recovery to know your not alone, and I feel will be lifelong friends. I was able to go on the wellness retreat just this weekend and what an fantastic experience. I had such an AMAZING Time at the.....Strength for Life Retreat the weekend of Feb 29th-March 1st, 2020. It was my first time and as a survivor I didn't know what to expect. Debbie, her staff, the guest speakers and volunteers made this weekend such an inspiring one. I felt so loved & supported by everyone that my heart was filled with joy ! I can't say I liked 1 thing better than the other because the whole experience was so uplifting. I made such a connection with all who attended, let the new friendships begin ! I can not wait for the next one. Thank you for all that you do, Debbie & the entire organization.

I had such an amazing weekend! This was my very first Strength for Life retreat, and it ABSOLUTELY won’t be my last!
I completed my chemo treatment a few weeks ago, and I was nervous about exercising for the first time. (Confession: I’ve never been much of an exerciser!) Having Debbie as a guide, made all of my fears fade away. Every single minute of her class was motivating and safe. It was comforting to be surrounded by women who were so loving and supportive as well.
Our reiki circle was powerful, the yoga was relaxing and the food was delicious! All in all, this weekend was an amazing experience. After months and months of stress, worry, scans, side effects and discomfort, this retreat was good for my body, mind and soul. Thank you, Strength for Life! You go above and beyond for cancer patients and survivors!

I am so happy I finally found you! I finished my treatment this past July and couldn't get motivated to exercise. I registered for your Tuesday night class and I am thrilled. Debbie you are amazing! I am getting out, exercising, meeting and making new friends and feeling a renewed sense of hope and strength. I attended the wellness retreat this weekend and was so inspired by the LOVE, energy, compassion and support of every single person I met. All of the classes were organized, fun and inspirational. The meals provided were top quality! The accommodations were superb. I LOVED it! Tammy Sayres

Strength for Life's Empowerment Group and Write to Heal Group have had a tremendous impact on my overall well being.
They provide me with an atmosphere of safety and respect.
Listening to others share their feelings and/or writings openly has helped me to be more confident about expressing my own emotions. The groups offer hope, inspiration, encouragement and have made it easy for me to share my "voice"-something which I have always had difficulty doing.
It is comforting to know that I am not alone in this struggle.
Thank you Strength For Life for all you do!

I have experienced some of the programs that Strength for Life offers - exercise, weekend retreat, empowerment group. The staff are very friendly, supportive and informative. The participants are instantly bonded by this common health condition. I personally enjoy the empowerment group and feel the support, love and wellness each time I go. All the programs stress tomorrow will be better, be grateful for what you have and look towards the future. This is a bump in the road, and you will overcome.

There's no good side to cancer, but we have the ability to find a silver lining behind this dark cloud. The Strength for Life program represents such a sliver lining. I once asked one of my oncologists "what's the best way to decrease the chance of cancer recurring?" Her answer was a concise "exercise". Well, that resonated with me. I heard of SFL incidentally and I'm glad I acted on the tip. To exercise with people in the same boat as me could really hep me with my physical conditioning regimen in an effort to keep my body as strong as possible. I was never into physical conditioning or working out...a sliver lining...SFL landed in my lap. It got me exercising. But that's not all. When you attend SFL fitness classes, whether it be yoga or exercise conditioning, a bond and comradery develops with the other clients. That in itself is a positive effect on one's well-being. Support is invaluable. That's what we offer to each other. I have honestly never felt so strong, physically, mentally, emotionally, as I do now since joining SFL. I know there are many practitioners, but big thanks go out to the very knowledgeable, compassionate instructors that I have had the pleasure of following, Debbie Hughes and Isabel Schaefer. The program has really given me a new Strength in my Life to help me fight this disease. I am very grateful for that.

It's just incredible how something so good could exist as a result of something so bad. Cancer can be a life zapper in so many ways. Strength for Life is the opposite. It's a vehicle for providing encouragement and restoring hope to cancer survivors through compassionate, empathetic guidance in exercise. And in turn, a renewal, physical and emotional happens! People are brought together and there's almost an immediate bond...there's at the very least a common bond, which is healing from the ravages of cancer in some way through exercise! I love that I found Strength For Life!

"Strength for Life "is an incredible organization! I have been involved with it for a few years and it gets better all the time! The exercise, stretching, yoga and nutrition classes have all helped me greatly with maintaining a healthy lifestyle . I was so very fortunate to have been able to attend a weekend retreat offered thru Strength for Life and found it to be truly life changing in so many ways. As a survivor of breast cancer, I am looking for current information/research and tools I can incorporate to stay well. In addition, the friends and support I have benefitted from is an extra bonus. The folks involved with the classes are the best possible. They are knowledgeable, compassionate and fun! How fortunate we are to have this organization in our community!

I attended the retreat this weekend and its truly soul elevating . The Leadership of Debbie and Teresa was awesome and bringing all the volunteers to pamper us was so amazing. Meeting with my fellow "Pink Sisters" was such a great feeling of happiness that I was able to hear their stories is very inspirational. One thing that I truly like the most is that all of us are allowed to share resources that some organization don't allow us to do so. To be honest , I truly enjoy the retreat and I'm thankful and grateful to SFL for bringing me in to be part of the family.
SFL did an amazing job and with Debbie and Teresa giving their pure heart with pure action and they see to it that we all go home with a smile on our faces. Wish that they could expand in Manhattan and other places so that they can reach out more survivors that could benefit from the program.

Also,I was so happy to meet a survivor that knows my supervisor and we both are from the same hospital where we get our treatment.

Strength for Life is an organization run by people who devote their time and energy to helping those who have survived cancer. They do so in an inviting, caring, safe environment, encouraging support, well-being and concern for and from those who partake of their services. The Wellness Retreat is an experience, specifically for cancer survivors, instructing them in different ways to empower, strengthen and care for their well-being and health. The facilitators in a caring, loving, and gentle manner patiently demonstrate different methods of exercise, movement, meditation, nutrition and various other techniques to survivors in all forms of treatment and health ways to empower themselves against the unpredictability of cancer. This is set in an environment that is safe, filled with survivors encouraged to support each other by sharing their experiences, journeys and knowledge. The Wellness Retreat is a wonderful experience that i would recommend to anyone who is a cancer survivor.

I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer in the winter of 2016. On April 1st, 2016 I had a total hysterectomy. While I was one of the lucky ones, in that I did not have to undergo chemotherapy or radiation, I was left reeling with the realization that I had cancer and would not be considered cured for five years. At the age of 5, I lost a beloved aunt to the same type of cancer. My hysterectomy left me feeling very depressed, scared and suffering "survivor's guilt,"
Through Winthrop University Hospital I found out about Strength For Life. I joined their monthly Empowerment Group, and signed up for the FREE exercise classes. In these groups, I met some of the most incredible women. We shared our stories, offered support in a way that only a cancer survivor can understand. I thought cancer was strong until I met these women! Through Strength For Life I have found many wonderful resources and learned so much about cancer and the power of the human body and spirit. I signed up for a Wellness Retreat and attended this February 10th and 11th. It was one of the most memorable weekends of my life. I got to experience meditation, exercise, and lectures on nutrition and holistic medicine. I participated in a Reiki Healing. I received Acupressure and Acupuncture. This entire weekend was FREE! It was made possible by donations Strength For Life received as a Not For Profit Organization!
I am no longer a depressed person beaten down by cancer. I am appreciative for all that cancer has done to humble me and change me as a person. I don't live life waiting for tragedy to strike. I view cancer as something I experienced and am called upon to share to help others in their journey. I am learning day by day to take responsibilities for my health and to treat myself and my body as a temple. I am am eternally thankful for Debbie Hughes, one of the Co-founders of Strength For Life. She lost a dear friend to cancer and out of that tragedy she created a legacy of love and support for other cancer patients and survivors. SFL does exactly what its name says, it gives people the STRENGTH to keep on LIVING!

I found out about Strength For Life through my oncologist office. I was a bit hesitant at first to join the exercise classes but I am so glad that I made that leap of faith and joined. I first started with one class, then I added another class and finally I added a third weekly class. It began as an exercise class but it has become so much more. I have met wonderful people through this organization from my classmates to the facilitators up to the co-founders. I have found an unofficial support group in the people that I have met through the fitness classes, empowerment groups and the retreats. The participants I have met all have positive attitudes and we support each other in a way that non-cancer survivors cannot relate to. I have made a group of friends that I keep in touch with outside the classes. We found out that we all joined for the classes and were rewarded 100 times more than we anticipated.

This was my first time leaving my young children and my husband for a night to attend such an event, but it was so good for me and ultimately for them! It was comforting, encouraging, and inspiring to meet other survivors and to hear their stories. Debbie's nutrition class and exercise class were fantastic! Theresa was also a wonderful source of information and such an encouraging testimony to me. The food and company was superb, and all of us left with a positive attitude and tools to continue on each of our journeys. I also attended my first strength for life class this past week and I am so grateful! The help is personalized and so good for new cancer survivors physically and emotionally. There are so many positives about Strength for Life exercise classes. Our leader Jacqui Errico is an amazing resource in addition to being a patient, kind and knowledgeable instructor. We are pushed gently and given many options in doing the exercises so that no one hurts themselves. Exercising is important both physically and mentally. Exercising is a great way to get back some sense of control that was lost with the cancer diagnosis. Exercising with cancer survivors forms amazing bonds and gives you another support group, even if you weren't looking for it and didn't know you needed it. Everyone there is a positive role model and we have developed our own caring community. If you do one thing for yourself make it a Strength for Life exercise class!!! Since my breast cancer diagnosis in April 2014 I have had a hard time knowing when it might be ok to do any physical activity. I had to stop going to the gym after my breast surgery. I later developed neuropathy from chemo and pneumonitis from radiation. Jacqui has helped to see me through all of these times. She'll tell me when I shouldn't participate in a specific exercise or have certain activities tailored for each participant depending on their specific problems. As an exercise class this has been the best and one that I can continue no matter which medical problem I develop.

But...this is much more than an exercise class. It is an informal support group where we've all become friends and help talk each other through issues while working out instead of sitting around a table. There is something to be said for both venues but this is a real life important and helpful way of getting through this difficult time.

I attended the weekend retreat last year and it was an experience that I will always hold dear. Not only was it physically challenging and rewarding but, again, the support and friendship was so important and in a more intimate setting than usual support groups.

I have been struggling to find an exercise class that I enjoyed for years. My doctor has recommended it, and I know it is important to my continuing health. Jaqui's class was the first one I ever truly enjoyed and wanted to go back to. She is awesome, encouraging, and making exercise a fun community experience. I feel better physical and emotionally after attending. It's a win/win and I am so grateful for Strength for Life!

I recently attended the Strength for Life retreat weekend. What a fabulous experience. The women I met were brave and inspiring. The event was very well organized and informative. I walked away feeling relaxed, inspired and empowered to do more for myself. It was a treat to have an event focused on my health and well-being. The entire staff was warm, friendly, happy and sincere.
I also attend the weekly strength for life classes. It has jump started me to exercise. I feel much stronger and capable since beginning these classes. I look forward to seeing the group of ladies and our wonderful instructor, Debbie, each week. We learn exercises that we can do at home (plus have a lot of laughs at the same time). We are all different ages and at different stages of the disease, but have a common bond. I am so very grateful for this organization!

Several years ago, I found out about Jacqui Enrico and the wonderful things she does for patients with cancer. I was never able to connect to take any of these classes. Finally, I saw a medical facility that I was familiar with being I had my chemotherapy there, the Monter Center in Manhasset. She welcomed me with open arms, supplied me with mat, straps and ball. I'm still in the learning process, but I find Jacquie a no-nonsense instructor with a heart of gold. It is an honor and privilege to be a part of such a wonderful organization, and instructor, Jacqui Enrico. You won't be disappointed.

Jacqui is the greatest instructor I have ever had. I have lung cancer and I do not think about it until I have to go for my Cat scan. I keep making real excuses for not going back but Jacqui encourages and even teases me that I will be back to our Friday classes, so even when I have to pick up my grandson from the bus I do get to class even if I am a little late. Jacqui has always made me feel welcome and we have a great group that keeps me wanting to return. I sometimes feel "poor Jacqui" she has to put up with our nonsense , but this is what makes us want to return and of course the most important thing is that I have learned many exercises that have been very beneficial.

I just came back from a retreat sponsored by Strength for Life, this was the most amazing experience. It was absolutely the best weekend that I have had since my diagnosis 2 years ago. Not only is the staff amazing loving people but the truly amazing brave women that I have met there. It was very well organized and went without any problems whatsoever. I came home from this retreat feeling happy, positive and empowered. It gave me a sense of wellbeing, reignited that fight inside me and also truly made me realize that we are not alone in this battle. I also attend the weekly exercise classes given by Strength for Life which I look forward to as well, not only has it inspired me to get out there and exercise more, but I also met such amazing, loving people as a result. This organization is a godsend and I am so thankful that my path has led me to them. Love, love, love the staff and the whole concept that they stand for. Thank you Debbie, Jacqui and everyone associated with Strength for Life. -Darlene Homire-

Since my diagnosis, I've had mostly sleepless nights. Worrying about the future and how I was going to make it. I only let the fear that gripped me come out in the silence of the night as everyone else slept. Meeting other survivors and hearing they felt the same, lifted a weight off my shoulders. The retreat weekend gave me laughter and hope. Thanks so much!

You are not alone….
I always knew I would get breast cancer. After two lumpectomies, I opted for a Bi-lateral mastectomy.

After leaving the hospital after the last surgery that was it. No aftercare. I found that my arms no longer moved like they used to. I could no longer swim or do many other activities that I use to take for granted. I could barely raise them long enough to wash my hair. I thought this was just a byproduct of my surgeries. I just lived with it.

I met a young woman at the LI2Day walk who told me about Strength for Life and told me I must go.
I signed up on line. Jacqui immediately responded and made me feel beyond welcome. When I attended the class Jacqui knew everyone’s story. She knew what they were going through or had been through. She was interested, she listened, and she cared. She listened to my story and my health decisions. Being alone in my decision process I never was quite sure I made the right choices. Talking to her allowed me to feel comfortable that my choices were right for me.

I just finished my second set of classes with Jacqui. I now have full range of motion in my arms. (possibly better than my pre-cancer range) I no longer think about breast cancer every time I wash my hair or try to reach for something. I look forward to swimming next summer!

Beyond feeling better physically, I joined a group where I saw and felt, I was not alone.
Thank you all at strength for life for being there for people like me. Thank you....

A friend had mentioned an article in the paper about Strength for Life, I cut it out and kept it. I guess at the time I wasn't ready. Then a friend of a friend told me about it and refreshed my memory and I contacted them. I was lucky to be a part of the wellness retreat held September 19 - 20th, 2015. I must admit doing this was way out of my comfort zone but I was so glad I did. I met and heard stories of so many wonderful, strong women who were all very positive and inspirational. The retreat had wonderful speakers who enlightened us on various topics. We did Zumba, yoga, strength training and Reiki. Best of all was being introduced to Jacqui, Debbie, and Teresa who are all amazing! They are such wonderful, giving, caring women and I felt so fortunate to be a part of the wellness retreat and since have started the weekly exercise classes with Jacqui which are awesome. I would recommend strength for life to anyone everyone it is the best organization I have ever come in contact with and am so greatful.

I only found information about this inspiring group through a random internet search when I was feeling crazy with brain tumor chemo.
I'm a single mother living with two of my three kids (ages 13 and 11) and though I get some help from friends and my separated husband I'm pretty much the one in charge of bringing them up - an exhausting task even for a healthy person!
Having a break from my chaotic (and depressing) situation was amazing, really, truly amazing. The women running the weekend were so positive and the women in treatment were funny and all fighting to survive and enjoy life at the same time. My room mate I had been matched up with (both with kids, approaching divorce) made me laugh more than I had done for a long time!
I thought that the exercise would be too strenuous but we were told to do what we could and I realized that I could do more than I had thought. I was rubbish at rumba, but had a great time giving it a go. Strength training was a bit daunting but I got good advice about adapting the exercises and I really enjoyed it!
All in all I left the camp glowing - exercise, new friends and wonderfully refreshed to go back to my kids and be cheerful. A big thank you to every person involved with Strength for Life. Your kindness, enthusiasm and energy spread to us all!

Hands down , "Strength for Life" is the first support group that I have found where the focus is on what I CAN DO to get fit physically and, as a result, mentally and emotionally. The retreat was not a pity party, or a place to compare sob stories, something that I have found to be the case in other cancer support groups. " Strength for Life" offered a full day of various workshops focused on what those who have been diagnosed with cancer CAN DO in terms of exercise, nutrition, and emotional well-being to help themselves. For me, being shown and told that I am capable of various levels of excercise, and no excuses accepted, was hugely empowering.

I heard about Strength for Life, Inc. and thought it would be a great weekend retreat to get me back on the fitness track. I have just finished treatment for breast cancer and decided to apply. I was put on a wait list but due to a cancelation I was offered a spot. I thought the weekend was amazing. It was structured very well, great speakers from homeopathic doctors who shared invaluable information on living healthy to home improvement that will foster healthy living through Feng Shui. The exercise portion was not intimidating at all and was tailored to those of us in treatment or just getting started again to those who are advance. There was also an unbelievable Reiki circle that just filled the room with so much wonderful positive healing energy. I met a great group of women, who meshed well and best of all food and lodging were free. Great organization every philanthropist should consider when looking to donate. I am finding my way back to health after a cancer diagnosis and treatment. The program was full of healthy exercise programs from Zumba to Strength Training (with all the equipment provided not only for use there but to take home!) to Mat Pilates to Reiki (with enough practitioners for each of the participants!). There were informative talks by a Naturopathic Doctor and a Feng Shui practitioner.

I am an ovarian cancer survivor, currently under treatment to battle a reoccurrence last year. The Strength for Life class was recommended to me to help me regain some strength and flexibility that I have lost during treatment. I cannot say enough good things about this experience. I have only attended one 8 week session so far, but I do see an improvement in my strength and flexibility already.

However, the biggest improvement has been in my balance - which was a wonderful surprise. I am no longer bumping into walls or teetering off the sidewalk when I walk!

The women in this class are all friendly and very cheerful, and we have a great time laughing together while Jacqui pushes us onward! Jacqui keeps us all laughing while working hard, making sure we are staying within the range that we are capable of handling. She gives each of us individualized advise and alters the exercises to accommodate each person's ability. She is like our own personal trainer!

The benefit for me has not just been physical, it has been enjoyable socially as well. I had been avoiding joining a gym or exercise class because I knew I would be falling behind the pace of the group. But here we are all in the same situation and we struggle on together as a group while having a lot of fun.

I am so thankful I found this program, it is the first time I have ever been excited to exercise, and I can't wait for the next session to begin!

I am so thankful for all they have done. I never would have thought I could get this far back to healthy and happy and fit. I can't say enough how this is one of the best programs there and we even have fun.

I am always amazed of the strength and courage that all of the woman have at the retreats. Jacque & Debbie are selfless when it comes to this organization. The amount of time, effort and love that is put into just one wellness retreat always shines through. The morning always begins with each of the woman sharing their stories over breakfast. With every story the woman are drawn closer to each other. It doesn't matter where they came from, they all have a common denominator in this life. That being said, the goal is to achieve a life of health and wellness. As a volunteer, I too get to experience all of the weekends activities. From exercise class, Pilates, Reiki healing, yoga, and hiking through the beautiful trails of the Greenbelt. For me, it's getting to know these woman and being able to make a difference in their lives. I know that they make a difference in mine. In closing, I am so honored to be affiliated with Strength For Life, and have the opportunity to experience first hand all they have to offer.

I'm extremely enthusiastic to highly recommend attending a Strength for Life wellness retreat. This April 2014 retreat will be a wonderful and unforgettable memory I can always revert back to. Especially during difficult moments that come forth being affected by the struggles of cancer - emotionally, mentally and physically. I can truly say that I cannot remember the last time I felt such kindness, inner peace, and the feeling of normalcy among people whom I mostly met for the first time. It was a therapeutic weekend full of amazing strong women releasing their raw feelings and experiences without restraint. Not only learning and realizing several things from others, but also about ourselves through the power of exercise and spiritual practice. A well-deserved special thanks needs to be given to Jacqui, Debbie, Denise, as well as all those who participated their time and services; it truly is such a beautiful gift to give others in of honor Evelyn Knapp.

The Strength for Life Retreat was an amazing gift to me, and I feel completely blessed. The directors
Jacqui, Debbie, and Denise are personable , kind, and uplifting. This retreat was really the most positive thing I have done for myself since my diagnosis, it was wonderful in so many ways.
I will always remember this time and always have appreciation for the connecting with all of the lovely strong women I met this weekend.
The exercise classes gave me hope, for I was only use to exercise with weight and now I know, I can
get a lot of benefits using pilates, zumba, and strength trining with resistance bands. The volunteers that
presented the classes were kind and giving.
Meditation and Reiki circle, made me feel amazing, relaxed, a feeling of calm...along with a oneness with all of the others in the room.
The strength for life team is commended, and the honor Evelyn Knapp lives on. Again I am thankful.

I am so fortunate to have shared a wonderful retreat with other women who share similar diagnoses. Strength for Live is a non-profit agency geared towards those who are directly effected from breast, ovarian and other cancers. The mission of Strength for Life says it all. Collectively through volunteers, survivors, and healing practioners, we learn how to become strong mentally emotionally and of course physically. The spectrum of ages is no barrier when surrounded by love, support and unconditional acceptance. This organization is powerful and there is not one out there which compares. I am privileged to have taken part in the retreat which is filled with laughter, education, and practioners who share a common goal, health and then the next step is, how do we get to there together!?

I have also participated in the 8-week strength for life program. It was the first time since I worked out since surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. The instructor, Jaqui is pure motivation and she tailored the work outs so each and everyone of us was able to full participate given our 'physical' limitation. I highly recommend Strength for Life. Upward and onward we go!

I attended the Wellness retreat by Strength for Life this past weekend in Hauppauge and I was grateful to be included for the second year in a row. I didn't think it was possible but it was even better than last year. The amazing women, Jacqui, Debbie and Theresa, who dedicate their time and energy to this cause outdid themselves once again. From the guest speakers, to the food, accommodations, exercise, yoga, Zumba, Reiki and Tai Chi classes, nothing was lacking!! These women genuinely care and love helping others and that's what makes this program so special. I met so many amazing and brave women at the retreat and they all truly inspire me. We laughed, talked and got emotional together. I will never forget everything I learned this weekend and I will hopefully educate others about staying healthy. I only wish more people affected by cancer can experience Strength for Life and the important and life-changing work they do.

It was such a wonderful experience. I have never really been able to share everything I went through and it was such a comfort to have other people to share with. Everyone is so warm and caring. The speakers and other girls that attended share their information and you learn so many things and resources that you had no idea existed. The atmosphere was so welcoming and fun. Once all of the exercising was done (which made my thighs so sore), we experienced Reiki which was amazing. I cannot express how much I got out of the weekend. It was much more than I expected!!! Yesterday morning I drove 3 hrs for what I thought was a yoga retreat. I was pleasantly surprised for much more than that. There were classes on health and wellness through natural living, strength training, Zumba, yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Guided mediation and imagery, a group Reiki healing, more classes on chiropractic care and Feng Shui. Not to mention we were well fed throughout the day and blessed with many caring volunteers to help guide us through the activities.
It might be diffcult to believe that was one day since they packed so much in there. I had to retire as soon as it was done to get some well deserved rest in bed. I have two small children, 2 and 5, so I cherish sleep when I can get it. The hotel room was peaceful and pleasantly posh. Knowing that I didn't have to clean up a huge mess after a long day was even more comforting. I slept like a baby.
After breakfast on Sunday, I did a work out on the elliptical in the gorgeous gym. We had a group water ballet class and said our goodbyes. It was over so quickly, but the bonds built this weekend will last. I have a whole new group of women that I can help support and lean on when needed. Cancer can be very isolating. As a young survivor, I don't know women my age that I can relate to on this level.
This retreat has come at a time when I needed it most. Several months after reconstruction and a year out from my last chemo, anxiety has been difficult to manage. I've been working as much as possible to catch up with debts incurred during treatment and through several surgeries. Exercise has been difficult to fit in with the cold weather, caring for two little ones, and house work. A weight has been lifted. Now I possess more tools for finding "Strength for life". It was so much more than just a yoga retreat. I can't thank them enough for this life enriching experience.

I am a breast cancer survivor. In 2011 I had surgery and radiation treatments which left me sore and stiff. I found myself not able to move as well as before and I was becoming more and more sedentary because all my joints were aching and stiff. The Strength For Life exercise class helped me get myself moving again and the stiffness, aches and pains have lessened by a lot. More importantly, Strength For Life got me started on a path to know that I must keep moving and stretching in order to function better in my life as I move forward. I now realize that fact and have become adamant that I exercise each day and do whatever I can to keep myself moving. It's my new lifestyle. Thank you Jacqui Errico!

I am a four year cancer survivor and this is the second time I took Strength for Life. I previously took this program in early 2012 when I was recovering from implant reconstruction and had different issues than now. This program has helped me a great deal after surgery last winter for DIEP flap surgery. Jacqui gave myself and everyone individualized attention and reminds us of "listening to our bodies". There are some exercises that I was unable to do in the beginning of the sessions and now I am able to complete them with little discomfort. I will continue to do the exercises that I am able to do at home slowly and looking forward to the photos to remind me" the correct placement of the bands". I highly recommend Strength for Life and was pleased that the ladies that I recommended the program to found Strength for Life beneficial. Great program a must for cancer survivors.

My name is Teresa Doherty and I am a breast cancer survivor. I attended strength for life's 1st weekend wellness retreat and I was blown away at what they had to offer to cancer patients and survivors at NO COST. It was a weekend filled with peace, love and compassion. Debbie and Jaqui and all the others who gave their time that weekend were amazing in making me feel inspired, strengthened and empowered. I now understand why that is their mantra. It was exactly what at needed in my healing journey at that time. I was so impressed with their mission and what they offered to cancer patients that I knew I had to get involved. I wanted to pay it forward and help others like myself get the information about complimentary therapies and experience them first hand so I asked to help out at the following retreats doing Reiki, which I am certified. The rest is history... I now have my husband involved with fundraising and also he is the entertainment at the yearly SFL "Rockin FunRaiser". I am currently in active and aggressive treatment for breast cancer and was able to attend this past weekends' Strength for Life Wellness Retreat in between chemotherapy treatments. I had the most amazing time because immediately upon arriving, the hosts were so genuine and sincere that i felt welcomed and comfortable. that, alone, set the tone for the rest of my experience there. The classes provided are informative and the instructors and/or guest speakers are knowledgable, down to earth and engaging. Above all, the network of people that the organization has brought together is incredible. I was overwhelmed with the courage and positive outlook that these cancer survivors exhibit and found myself even more confident about my own coming victory over this vicious disease just because I had this opportunity to listen to stories, share information and make great new friends. I am a Stage II breast cancer survivor. I was looking for retreats online and came across Strength for Life. I emailed my name in and was very blessed to be accepted into their retreat - as I am not in the Long Island area resident. I stepped way out of my comfort zone - I went alone not knowing anyone - but they welcomed me with open arms - from the very moment I walked in the door. This retreat opened me up to a world of new ideas - strength training exercise, zumba, yoga, reike, natural medicines, feng shui, and writing as a way to heal. I am going to implement some of these areas into my life. I met a group of women and one man - all in the same boat or "hot seat" as myself. We learned, laughed, and cried together. This weekend was just what I needed and I thank Strength for Life from the bottom of my heart.

That's when my daughter told me about Strength for Life. Exercise with other cancer patients provided the perfect comfort zone to begin rebuilding my body and my self esteem. Jacqui is the perfect combination of personal trainer and compassionate human being. She understands the beginners' limitations and offers encouragement with just the right amount of humor to make the impossible seem possible. I was two months post-chemo when my daughter told me about a program called "Strength for Life". She contacted the program, enrolled me, and then encouraged me to participate. It was a turning point in my recovery. Under the watchful eye and careful instructions of an excellent personal trianer, Jacqui, I began rebuilding the muscles that were weakened by four months of chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. There were several other cancer survivors in the group; we met once a week for eight sessions, and together we struggled with both our physical limitations and our emotional healing from the dreaded disease called "Cancer". It was the best support group ever!!! At the end of program, I had regained muscle tone, strength, and a positive can-do attitude. Thank you, and God bless you, Jacqui, for your caring and sensitivity.

I can't thank them enough for the wonderful job they are doing.

What an awesome group of Women! Everyone from Strength for Life was truly Blessed. The Zumba class was a Blast. The Strenght Training had me moving and feeling my Body that had been napping for a long time! The Guest Speaker Dr. Bongiorno was packed with much needed information. Yoga with Lida has encouraged me to start at home, loved that session. Attending the Retreat has broaden my awareness and also allowed me to meet a group of DIVAS that has been in a Battle, like myself, we are not alone and that we are LIVING BEINGS. I really appreciate the Service that SFLI has provided and. From the moment of arrival to departure, ALL of the sessions, Massage technique, Feng Shui and such was soothing. This Retreat was a much needed Event of Excitement, Informative, Fun! I had left home droppy and came back to LIFE. I hope that they continue. God Bless SFLI.

I learned about Strength for Life through a newsletter I received from North Shore/Long Island Jewish Hospital Cancer Center. I always wanted to reach out to a support group or somewhere where there were other cancer patients or survivors, but never found one that I felt suited me. I called the phone number, and got a quick response from Jacqui. I feel that I connected with her almost immediately, given her warm, friendly, caring, professional, and calming personality. After sending me the links to explain all that Strength For Life is about, Jacqui enrolled me in a class that was convenient to both my home and schedule. I feel that there was a great connection with the other attendees, and I even made a friend, Mona who also had breast cancer. I truly looked forward to attending each class. There were days that I was not feeling well, but after exercising with Jacqui, I felt energized and better than before the class , both physically and emotionally. I am now looking forward to attending the weekend retreat; participating in the classes, hearing the lectures, and just spending two days with others who have a common bond. There are no words to express to Jacqui how much I appreciate all that she has done for me. I feel both honored and lucky to have crossed paths with her. After eight years and nine surgeries where life has given me plenty of lemons, Jacqui surely helped turn them into lots of lemonade! Thanks again! This past weekend I attended a wellness retreat donated by the Strength For Life organization. I had a truly amazing time. I met a wonderful group of women who shared a common bond with me, and participated in classes and lectures given by women and men who selflessly donated their time and gave so much of themselves. Although I was only 25 minutes away from my home, I felt like I was on a far away "spa" vacation! I returned home refreshed and enlightened, and with approximately 20 new friends! This was only possible because of the extreme generosity and hard work of Jacqui Errico, Debbie Hughes, and the other volunteers. I am very fortunate to be a part of the Strength For Life "family"!

How do you thank someone who helps those going through a life altering experience? Jacqui is totally dedicated and professional. The program is encouraging to people who have been weakened by treatments and Jacqui modifies each exercise to meet each client's needs and abilities. The equipment is wonderful, and all this at no cost!! Amazing!

I was very hesitant about taking the Strength for life exercise classes after my surgery and brachytherapy. I needed some help getting some of my strength and stamina back even after a year. I was worried it would be too difficult for me because I am not a youngster
and have a few mobility problems. Well, I shouldn’t have worried. Jacqui is terrific! She understands and responds to each individuals’ limitations by tailoring the exercises to you, and pushes, just firmly enough, to keep you motivated and believing you can really help yourself. I am so glad I responded to the article I read about the program, and cannot thank Strength for Life enough for the help and encouragement I have received.

When I first met Jacqui and Debbie three years ago I learned about their cause and immediately knew I wanted to help in any way I could. Being a volunteer and working with Jacqui and Debbie and seeing first hand what they are able to accomplish is an amazing thing. Their passion for Strength for Life speaks volumes which makes it easy for outsiders to want to get involved and help. They motivate and inspire everyone they come in contact with and I am grateful to be a part of it.

Working with Strength for Life is an experience I would recommend for any volunteer. Everything that Jacqui and Debbie touch is filled with such love and genuine intent and you can't help but be effected by it you work with them. Exercise classes and wellness weekends are packed with positive energy and empowerment. In addition, the opportunity to fund-raise outside of these events gives me the chance to share the Strength for Life story and increase awareness. I love knowing that the donations I receive have the potential to make a profound impact on the lives of participants. I have enjoyed each volunteer experience with Strength for Life and look forward to giving more, in any way I can, in the future.

I attended Strength For Life's first Wellness Weekend reteat and was pleasantly surprised as what they had to offer and all for FREE to boot. The weekend was filled with Yoga, Tai chi, Reiki, exercise, Speakers on health and wellness and the comaraderie of other cancer survivors. Debbie and Jaqui made us all feel so loved and nurtured, which is exactly what someone who is going through a cancer diagnosis needs. It was exactly what I needed at the time. I was so impressed what Strength For life had to offer that i wanted to be involed, so I began volunteering my time at furture wellness weekends so I could be a part of helping others experience the great effects of what Strength For Life has to offer. After volunteering a few times I was asked to be on the Board of Directors. I was nervous but something told me I needed to be a part of this wonderful organization. So here I am today on the Board and recently faced with another cancer diagnosis and now attending their exercise classes and feeling great. Debbie has opened me up to many different healing modalities and I am forever grateful. I feel that God has a purpose and is using me to be an inspiration to others and that's why He has put Strength For Life on my healing path.

I found out about Strength for Life from my daughter's mother-in-law who saw an article in a hospital bulletin about it. I had just finished chemo 4 months earlier for ovarian cancer and although I was feeling better, I still felt weak and fatigued. I joined the class in Nassau County. It was a small group, but we all immediately bonded. Jacqui was a wonderful leader who really knows what she's doing. She customized the exercises for those of us who couldn't do the traditional methods. Her encouraging attitude enabled all of us particpate and benefit from the exercises. When I started, I could barely do the exercises, but after a couple of more classes, I felt stronger and was able to do them. More importantly, it was not only exercise, but it turned into a support group. Even though we all have a serious illness, at no time was it ever sad. It was an upbeat and supportive environmnent and with lots of humor throughout each session. I am so thankful for Jacqui and for the wonderful people in my class. Thanks also to Strength for Life for this program and for the exercise ball, bands, and mat. It hardly gives me an excuse not to continue to exercises at home. This is such a worthwhile service. I hope it keeps on going and grows.

My friend found their ad and when I applied, I found that the classes and the equipment were supplied free of charge, which is amazing. Jacqui was our leader and she created a very positive and fun atmosphere. We were taught and lead through exercises which we could later do at home to help with our cancer recovery. The classes were small which created a very comfortable atmosphere. There was no great discussion of our illnesses, just total support and understanding for whatever each of us needed. I'm looking forward to hearing from them about their wellness retreats.

When I was first introduced to Strength for Life, I had just finished 4 months of chemotherapy and I joined to build up my strength. However in addition to gaining strength, I developed a support group over the last two years and friendships. I am soooooo grateful to Jacqui and Debbi for volunteering their time to be there for me and all the other participants when we needed help or a friend to listen. Donna Blansfield

Strenght for Life offers the opportunity to strengten your body after cancer. The classes offer strength training and stetching to get your body moving. Not only does it benefit the body but it is amazing for the spirit. The energy that Jacquie and Debbie bring to us in the group is contagious. They offer the classes at no cost to us and include the bands, balls and mats we need for our workout. The comraderie of the group has been detrimental to my healing. Thank you Jacquie and Debbie.

I can not thank these woman and all it's board members enough. I feel so great! I only wish I could take them home to work out with me daily. Through the past 3 years since my original breast cancer diag. they have gone out of their way for me. When I was hosptalized this summer for headaches which turned out to be a brain tummor from the original breast cancer I could not wait to work out again. I returned this fall and do not want it to end. Im not a totally disapline person so having these ladies working with me has been so great. I did the run this past Nov. and plan to train for next years and kick "cardiacHills" butt! I know it is God who puts special people in our paths and I am thankful for Jaqui and Debbie and all those behind the events that make our workouts possible. Oh, and the actual "wellness weekend" Awesome! I loved everything, the roomates, food choices for a "weight watcher", swimming, I loved the treadmils in the gym, the great conversations..Thank u!

The wellness retreat was really phenomenal. It was enriching, enlightening, broadening and very informative. Most of all, the caring exemplified and shown to all the partiicpants by Jacqui, Debbie and Theresa was truly heartfelt. These compassionate ladies are the backbone of this marvelous organization . I learned a lot in a whirlwind weekend of varied activities - strength training, zumba, exercise, Reiki, Shung Fei. Additionally, the participants shared a piece of their lives and stories with one another. This was a wonderful and a true 'retreat' in every sense of the word, as it was a short time away from everyone's lives to learn and share and enjoy with one another~!

I'm a 4 1/2 year breast cancer survivor and also had two brain surgeries following my breast cancer treatments. Needless to say, I was less active than I was before the surgeries and less active than I could have been given the proper training to help me deal with less range of motion and lymphedema. Strength for Life weekend was really the first concentrated fitness centered activity I have done in four and a half years. This program is life affirming and confidence building to help deal with a new physical self. The instructors were professional and caring, the workshops were educational and fun . The accommodation were very comfortable and relaxing.

Strength for life is a fantastic place to be!!!
Jacqui and Debby have put together a wonderful program, that does not focus on illness, but on life.
The weekend retreat provided a plethora of experiences for the body, mind, and spirit.
There was a class on yoga, tai chi, strength training, zumba, speakers on feng shui and nutrition, meditation, and a reiki healing circle.
It is an experience not to be missed, which helps to get us back on the road to total healing.
Jacqui and Debby are truly devoted, compassionate women and they should be highly commended for the wonderful program and support that they provide.
I can highly recommend Strength For Life to all those who want to focus on enjoying their lives to the fullest potentials.

What a wonderful organization. I am a recent breast cancer survivor and this was the first organization I reached out to for support. What a positive experience. I was part of their wellness weekend which was free to any cancer survivor and what an enlightening experience. It was such an uplifiting weekend and I learned so much about so many ways to get my life back on track and stay healthy; physically and mentally. I was afraid before I went that it may be a bit of a "downer" being with so many others with cancer but it was just the opposite, it was such a celebration of life and a very positive experience. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the top of my bald (from chemo) head.

My name is Laura Cerrano and I am a Certified Feng Shui NY consultant on Long Island. I met Jacqui Errico and Debbie Hughes at a Health fair and was invited to speak about Feng Shui and healing when living with Cancer. I was blessed to be part of the event and met so many wonderful people. It was a day of sharing, listening, and absorbing the experiences and stories from those dealing with cancer at various stages. Experts in various other health fields also gave advice with how to enhance the process of healing and preventing.

It was so inspiring to see the synergy of everyone working together, supporting each other, and having the best attitudes when dealing with such a challenge in their lives. The programs, events, and information that Debbie and Jacqui offer for FREE are from quality sources and from people who truly care about helping others from the bottom of their heart.

You are very lucky and blessed to Work with these ladies and the other volunteers. When you meet them for the first time, The Strength of Life Organization makes you feel like family from the very first smile and greeting. This is the place to be when you need advice, need to get things off your mind, to have fun, and simply connect with others for a stronger healing process.

Thank you Jacqui and Debbie for being earth angels

I thank God for putting these woman in my life and through them others that have been a well of information for my life and my children's life. 5 stars for two wonderful women dedicating their lives to help those that have been touched by Cancer in some walk of their lives. God knows we never want to have to go through it again but it does happen and to know there are a group of people to encourage you in so many ways; mentally, PHYSICALLY, emotionally, and teach us healthy caloric intake to prevent a reoccurrence what a blessing. I had such a wonderful time I encourage everyone to go to their classes and sign up for a retreat wellness weekend. I felt so energized and fit from the exercise and the healthy breathing encouraged during Yoga, Tai Chi, and strength training. I love the health professionals they bring to us with an abundance of knowledge tailored for you. I work in a family doctor's office and I want everyone to know the wonderful resources out there and Strength For Life is like having a personnel trainer for you weekly for free, it can't get any better people go to work everyday dragging their feet, these women work and raise families and still volunteer to strength train you and run this non-profit program. One of the doctors said there are only 2 things we can do to prolong our lives. "Healthy caloric intake and exercise" no magic pill but for cancer patients or survivors we need that balance to prevent our bodies cells form changing again. I look forward to meeting many new faces as we fight cancer together. God Bless

Strength for Life is a not for profit organization that truly cares for the cancer patients that it supports. They constantly work hard to research and develop beneficial programs that address the mental, physical and emotional issues faced by those who are living with this disease. With the support of their partners, they are able to offer a varied menu of activities that are offered at NO COST to those who can benefit from them.

I believe the programs initiated by Strength for Life have a big impact on all attending. This organization gives people a place of ongoing support where they can acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to strengthen all aspects of their lives. Strength for Life provides many lifestyle enhancing activities including, but not limited to, exercise classes, wellness weekends, dietary expertise, physical training, relaxation techniques, self-awareness activities and also informative workshops taught by experts in the holistic medical profession as well as in the conventional medical field.

The successes of this organization are a testament to the dedicated founders, board members and sponsors who donate their considerable time and talent to give others the ability to reclaim their lives in very caring and positive manner.
