I've donated to Miracle for the last couple of years because of the systematic approach they take tackling the problem, combining working with governments, influencing policy, community organisations. Those efforts are combined with the comprehensive on-the-ground work they do to monitor, maintain and improve the orphanages and work towards moving kids into families and I've seen the direct and broad impact they've had.
Miracle Foundation is an exceptional organization in that it is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the children served. As a donor of 10+ years, I appreciate being thought of as a partner and so kept abreast of changes, new initiatives, and problems solved. Miracle Foundation has both the heart of compassion and the head of strategy and effectiveness.
I have over 10 years of experience volunteering with and donating to The Miracle Foundation. They are committed, honest, resourceful accountable and reliable and always stay focused on the children and their futures. Whether it’s my time or donations, I feel secure with their focus and commitment to their mission. They are a blessing to this world and to all those they serve.
This organization has changed my whole perspective on the level of thoroughness, thoughtfulness, and love that goes into caring for these kids. The Miracle Foundation has blown me away with their attention to detail, from employing the Rights of the Child as established by the UN to their scalable model for measuring how these rights are being met. The thought of these incredible children being cared for, encouraged, and supported to thrive fills my heart. I’m always wanting to know how else I can help, and what I can do to support this excellent organization.
I've been participating with The Miracle Foundation for about 15 years now. I searched for several years for an organization I could believe in. TMF is it! I've been on 4 trips to visit the orphanages and the kids. Every trip has been rewarding and an adventure. I was always very impressed by the quality of care and love the kids got. The staff is well trained and give all of the children so much real love. I highly recommend TMF to anyone who is looking at making a big difference with orphans!
I have known and been a donor of TMF for about 8 years. I have gone on 3 trips to visit some of their orphanages in India. The progress these orphanages make once TMF takes them on is Astonishing! You can see it in the kids faces.
They have created a logical proven methodology to bring orphanages out of poverty and to have them flourish. The staff has always been warm and friendly. It has been a great blessing to me to be able to know that I have an organization here in America that helps me impact kids on the other side of the world.
I don't have enough words to express my gratitude for this organization and what it has done for so many. I have been with The Miracle Foundation to visit India on three different trips after years of donating to the mission of helping break the poverty cycle by lifting up and empowering children to reach their full potential. What was so amazing was to see first hand what my donations and support (along with countless others) had put into motion and the end result was astonishing. I was so scared on my first trip to India with TMF...worried that I would be sad and depressed when I visited these children. But I had a smile glued to my face at all times because I was completely surrounded by children that were happy, healthy, smiling, loved, thriving, grateful, curious, and smart! I was hooked and went back two more times in as many years to see those gorgeous children and others like them in various areas. Additionally, I will say this group of people that form The Miracle Foundation work so hard to make sure to keep operations and overhead costs as low as possible in order to funnel as much as they can of every dollar to the mission itself and those they ultimately serve. Caroline Boudreaux, the founder, is the real deal. She followed her heart and her calling, choosing an extremely difficult path versus an easy, paved one that lay before her. She's never looked back and as a result she has touched thousands of lives. I love that her goal is to put orphanages out of business. How amazing is that? Every child in a home...and she won't stop pushing toward that goal. I'm in awe of everything this organization does and has done and it's why I have been supporting it with my time, my talents, my gifts, my presence for 19 years, and will continue to do so well into the future.
I can’t recommend this nonprofit enough! I feel confident donating and knowing that the nonprofit is extremely well operated and managed. The team works hard to implement its inspiring mission.
I always say that the Miracle Foundation is changing the World one child at a time. I am confident that In the future all those children whose lives have been touched and made better by the love of the Miracle Foundation, they too will have open hearts to love and improve the lives of others around them.
Amazing organization! The orphans they help in India are thriving! Great leadership team. I highly recommend you looking into this fantastic life changing non-profit!
Our family has been supporting Miracle Foundation since its inception, we've watched it grow over the last 19 years. We are consistently impressed with the amount of time and effort they put into meeting the changing needs of the underserved in our world and also of Miracle Foundation's commitment to keeping their donors informed.
The Miracle Foundation had me at the word go! From the very beginning when every child needed a mattress, to the days, weeks, and months after the tsunami when they needed a roof over their heads all the way to the present when TMF is providing children with an education that will give them a way to provide for their own families. Caroline has not only given these children a chance in the world, she has made sure they experienced love along the way. It amazes me how she has shaped a world for them that includes healthy relationships with their house mothers and encouraged a bond between the children and their sponsors. All this while she makes sure they are fed, clothed, sheltered, educated and medically cared for. Now that's what I call a Miracle!
Review from CharityNavigator
I had the wonderful opportunity to intern at the Miracle Foundation and my time there exceeded all of my expectations. I got to witness just some of the inspiring work that everyone involved with the Miracle Foundation does to fight for the rights of children around the world. The Miracle Foundation's work taught me that in a world that can sometimes seem to be filled with hate, love can be found at every corner and passionate people have the ability to foster positive change. The Miracle Foundation gave me hope for a better and brighter world. At the Miracle Foundation, everyone believes in the importance of a loving family for children to learn, grow, and feel supported in. They say once you are apart of the Miracle Foundation family, you will be forever. This is a family I am immensely honored to always be apart of.
I started volunteering for Miracle Foundation in 2016, and it has been an awesome journey. The people are amazing, highly driven and committed to make an impact. The organization is extremely transparent and they are always willing to answer any questions you may have. They are very accommodative and can always find a role for you if you are willing to volunteer. So thankful to be a small part of a great organization doing miraculous life changing work.
Throughout the past four months, I have been a intern in the Programs Department. I have loved working with this fun team and seeing what a huge difference this foundation does. Through the reports given on each of the orphanages that is helped by the Foundation, I see how helpful and caring the Foundation is. The Foundation is organized and detailed and will do whatever is necessary to help the children.
I interned at the miracle foundation for a year with their development team. During my time with them, I was able to see first hand how their work impacts the lives of children in India. Seeing the level of care every staff member had for each other, house mothers (the children's care takers) and the children shows that everyone involved is driven by true passion.
Both the international and US based teams are so knowledgeable in terms of leadership and project management, I was always grateful to sit in meetings and hear the goals for future growth.
After my time interning I became a sponsor (no longer to to personal financial constraints) but I continue to support the Miracle Foundation however I can. '
Keep up the great and important work!
Through my time as an Intern, I have been fortunate enough to witness firsthand the true passion, dedication and heart behind The Miracle Foundation. The Miracle Foundation's mission is to provide life-changing care and family reunification to orphaned and vulnerable children. This incredibly inspiring mission is accompanied by an equally inspiring and caring staff. The Miracle Foundation is an amazing organization!
"My friend asked me to volunteer with Miracle Foundation after she had spent 4 months volunteering with them. I greatly enjoyed working with the staff and learning about their programming, passion, and dedication. Miracle Foundation is a great example of a 5-star nonprofit!"
I volunteered with Miracle Foundation in the winter of 2017 and it was such a fun experience. It can be difficult for an international nonprofit to connect individuals in America to the people and places they serve internationally, but as soon as you walk into the office you feel the connection to their work. Miracle Foundation is an excellent nonprofit and I'm proud to have volunteered for them!
I recently moved to Austin and am thrilled to volunteer at the Miracle Foundation. I have been following their incredible story for a few years and they were at the top of my list of social impact orgs to work with in Austin. I admire their child first philosophy and seeing the team go above and beyond to make sure that the kids in India are in a loving, sustainable environment is inspiring. Go team!
We went to India and visited a group of amazing kids that Miracle Foundation supports. Although we thought we were the ones giving of our time and service, the children gave us all so much more love and joy than I ever imagined. My heart is full.
I am an intern with the Miracle Foundation and I have had a wonderful experience thus far! I decided to apply for an internship after reading about the mission and the impact that this foundation has had in the lives of so many orphaned children. It is awesome to see how much each person on staff uniquely cares for this program and works to fulfill the mission of the Miracle Foundation. The staff members genuinely have a heart for supporting the kids in need; and this heart is reflected in how they go about doing business. I enjoy being in this work environment because it personally encourages me and challenges me to take a passion that I have for a social cause and seek to be a part of the solution. Even in the few weeks that I've worked here, I have already learned so much about how this particular foundation works and how nonprofits operate in general. I think that the Miracle Foundation is doing a great work and I am so excited to continue learning and growing through my experience as an intern!
As an intern at Miracle Foundation, I was initially drawn to this nonprofit because of the way they framed their mission. As an international nonprofit providing life-changing care to orphaned and vulnerable children around the world, Miracle Foundation seeks to go "out of business" by the year 2040. This was a revolutionary idea to me, but one that makes so much sense upon further reflection. Nonprofits, like Miracle Foundation, exist to help solve societal issues; therefore, if you effectively solve the issue, there's no longer a reason for the nonprofit to exist. Since starting my internship with Miracle Foundation, that message has really been driven home for me. Everything the foundation does is working towards the goal of having every child out of an institution and into a loving family. I have immensely enjoyed the opportunity to apply my passion for human rights and social justice towards helping support the work that Miracle Foundation does to ensure that the United Nation's 12 Rights of the Child are realized by each and every child, everywhere.
I interned with Miracle over the summer, and it was one of the best learning experiences I have ever had. I witnessed firsthand how much they care about the children and how hardworking all the employees are. They always made sure that I was enjoying the work I was doing and that it aligned with my career goals. Miracle has greatly helped me grow professionally and personally - they truly love what they do every single day.
I was able to serve as an intern at The Miracle Foundation, fall of 2017 and absolutely loved it! I came across the organization by simply looking for nonprofits in the greater Austin area with a mission that I felt aligned with my passions and I chose the correct one. I was able to meet some of the friendliest people with a professional attitude toward one common goal of helping the children. I would highly recommend everyone to become involved in any way!
I recently moved to Austin and was looking for places to help out and volunteer. I went on Charity Navigator and found Miracle Foundation was on the top of the list based on their outstanding rating. After doing more research I learned more about their mission and their founder's incredible story. I then met the founder at a Social Impact Summit and have since gone into the local office a few times to help with a project. Everyone is super friendly and also super driven behind the foundation's cause and mission. This is an awesome organization!
I interned with the Miracle Foundation during my senior year at the University of Texas at Austin. I had an incredible internship experience and was beyond excited to be hired on as a staff person in May of 2018. In the short time that I have been apart of this organization, I have witnessed an unparalleled commitment to their mission and a fearless orientation toward innovation. I am so proud to be apart of an organization that does not settle for the status quo. The Miracle Foundation continually seeks new opportunities to better serve orphaned and vulnerable children both internationally and right in our own backyard.
I am a current development intern at the Miracle Foundation and am so fortunate to confidently say I support the mission of TMF and I am gaining valuable experience in the nonprofit sector. Everyone who comes in and out of the office, full-time staff or even volunteers, are always with a smile on their face and passionate about what they are working on. TMF has already done such amazing work and I can't wait to see what is in store for the future.
I was fortunate to be a Miracle Foundation ambassador to Anwesha orphanage in Agartala, India in Fall of 2016. Science in a Suitcase, an Austin non-profit dedicated to spreading STEAM education to underprivileged children, organized volunteers and fundraising to get us over to India where The Miracle Foundation connected us with Anwesha to help bring STEAM education to some of the most beautiful children I've ever interacted with. We did simple science experiments with the young kids, and taught programming and engineering concepts to the older kids using the LEGO WeDo robotics platform over the course of three days.
This was one of the most enriching and fulfilling experiences I have ever had the opportunity to participate in! These kids have so little, yet are still so full of life, hope, and happiness. All the mundane challenges of getting over to India ready to help these kids melted away the instant we drove up to the Anwesha gates in our Tuk-Tuks and saw the whole orphanage waiting eagerly to receive us with all the pomp and circumstance they could muster. We taught programming, did some neat experiments, and setup a sustainable robotics program in the Anwesha computer lab with trained mentors during our time there, and every time one of the children looked me in the eye beaming with excitement and happiness, I just wanted to hug them.
The Miracle Foundation created this opportunity for us, and I am forever grateful. Heather Shaw of the Miracle Foundation in Austin helped us organize our preparations for the trip, and once we arrived in India, all the logistics like food, transportation, and lodgings were taken care of. Barbara Joubert was absolutely incredible in the way she took care of us in India and the way she loves every single one of these kids, she is an inspiration. Thank you Heather, thank you Barbara, and thank you Miracle Foundation!
The Miracle Foundation is a nonprofit that truly does amazing things for orphans around the world. The founder's story fuels the organization with a fierce passion to create Centers of Excellence where these children in need can thrive until they are reunited with their kin. Keep making miracles happen!
The Miracle Foundation has a strategy. And it is working. They aren't just tossing dollars and riding missions statements, but executing on a coherent and amazing strategy.
It was beautiful to see what they do. I went in to my work with them (teaching robotics at one of the homes) a skeptic. I had watched the ted talks and listened to stories, but there is always a part of you that wonders what they do with your donations, how real the story is, how affected are they by corruption in the country the work in, etc.
And man, it was beautiful. Spending a week teaching Robotics to the kids in the home, I saw the joy that permeates every facet of the home. The kids have the opportunity to be children. They are not forgotten orphans. The eat and play, they have mothers. They get individual attention, teaching, training, equipped to stand on their own two feet.
When we came, there was a new girl that had just come. You could tell, because she didn't smile or talk or interact. And I saw so many times the mothers in the home or staff would go hang out with the girl and comfort her. And we did too. Just such an amazing community feel.
I had the privilege going to an orphanage in Agartala, India with The Miracle Foundation in September 2016. I didn't know what to expect. I have never met an orphan in my home country, let alone India.
I met the nicest group of children when I was there. They didn't have much in terms of material possession, but they were loved. They were well-fed. They got good education. The 12 rights of children that The Miracle Foundation believes in really showed at the orphanage. The children probably had sad pasts, but they were so happy at the orphanage.
In the short four days, the children passionately called me "Dada," which means older brother. I don't have any siblings, but had so many littler brothers and sisters that week. I was there to set up a robotics program. I don't know how many lives I changed that week, but it certainly changed mine. It put in perspective how prevailed I am simply because where I live and from.
People say India is incredible, but children were even more so, every single one of them. I can't wait to see them grow up and make India even more incredible.
My wife Raka, our children, and I have been actively involved with the Miracle Foundation for over ten years. We have made annual trips to orphanages run by the Miracle Foundation for the past four years, and I have served as Chairman of the Board for a number of years.
The numbers speak for themselves: Miracle Foundation helps 2,500 kids, which translates to over a million meals, hundreds of thousands of medicines, and thousands of textbooks. Imagine a typical household with two kids and multiply what happens there by one thousand, all with a maniacal attention to detail to meet each child’s needs!
More than just the numbers, however, I am a big fan of the Miracle Foundation due to what I call my “3 Ps”:
a) Process: Miracle Foundation has a proprietary Thrive Scale—this is a methodology created to measure and enable systematic change in their homes. The process emphasizes measurement followed by investment at greater rates as a home/organization hits its critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). In my world, this is venture capital meeting a non-profit: something as magical as true fusion of oil and water!
b) Persistence: Miracle Foundation has an amazing team in the U.S. While the staff is 10,000 miles away from the children they serve, it makes positive change with uncompromising integrity in India. This is a testament to the team's sheer perseverance and grit for the kids they serve. It is impressive they’re able to succeed and make this vision a reality.
c) People: The Miracle Foundation staff is among the most amazing people we have ever encountered. From a place of selflessness, motivation for the well-being of the kids, and very astute business thinking, the team has conceived and implemented a technology-enabled methodology (with tremendous attention to detail) that creates the maximum impact for every dollar generated.
I have seen many companies, have sat on many Boards, and have worked with amazing CEOs and entrepreneurs. But there is something about the folks at Miracle Foundation that makes you want to help them with their mission to empower the world’s most vulnerable children. Supporting them is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I was blessed to travel with other Miracle Foundation ambassadors to meet the incredible children of Balgram Poynad. These children were inquisitive, happy, and funny. They were fed delicious, nutritious meals and were in excellent physical condition. Their living conditions were clean and comfortable, and their home mothers were loving and caring. The children discussed their aspirations for their future with no limits on possibilities. The Miracle Foundation has changed the lives of these incredible young people. I hope many others will support this vitally important organization!
The journey that I took with the Miracle Foundation was extraordinary. I was not expecting to go to an orphanage and meet children that was so full of joy . There is no doubt that these kids are loved . Those children was very well taken care of . I know that they are getting an education because we walk them to school . This group of kiddos was very happy and healthy . I got to see first hand exactly how much the donations we make to the Miracle Foundation is providing for these children . I have to say it is very impressing . I will continue to support those children by donating to the Miracle Foundation.
Love lives in the eyes of the Miracle Foundation's children. The kids in the care of TMF are filled with light and joy. They laugh with their stomach muscles, play competitively but fair, dance gracefully and whole-heartedly. They are being raised by hard-working, impressive women who are referred to as house mothers....and mothers are definitely what they are. The model created by The Miracle Foundation is beautifully implemented. It provides these precious people with not only what they need today, but the tools and hope for bright futures. We left them in the most tender of hands, in a place filled with goodness, with mothers and brothers and sisters whose devotion to each other is something that the whole world should be able to see. I recommend you go see it!
