As so many reviews before me, I have to say the one common response we all share is: being a volunteer at the orphanages of THE MIRACLE FOUNDATION was most definitely a life changing experience. I set off on my adventure with excitement and wonder about what I was about to experience. My journey, which I know has just now begun, was this March, 2015. I shared this with a group of teens who were invited to visit and share in the lives of these amazing young children. We spent 5 days having fun, playing, dancing, sharing meals, holding hands, hugging, twirling, and doing crafts, plus much, much more....with groups of children that simply loved us being there. We didn't need to do anything more then just "be present" to see these children happy. Their simple needs and their gratitude for life was just heart-warming. In a world of ever growing technology, easy access to the best of everything and a constant flow of activity....it was a blessing to slow down and see the love and joy over a box of crayons, a toy car, coloring books, hair ties and nail polish, paper puppets, a game of crickett....
As a volunteer for TMF, we were privileged to join the kids in there homes and see the way TMF has provided for them. The children were happy, fed, and joyful. During our visit, they put on plays and shows that they spent many hours practicing. The thrill of having us as their audience was amazing. The Miracle Foundation assures the homes they partner with meet many standards of quality care and life opportunities for the children in the orphanages , but...it is truly the volunteers and the support of the communities outside of India that make the difference happen. My praise goes to to the founder of TMF, Caroline and the amazing staff she employs as well as the folks who take the challenge to visit rural India and meet these wonderful children, who now have an opportunity to live the life that some of us, completely take for granted. I know without a doubt, my life, my needs, my wants...are forever changed!!
