This is a fabulous nonprofit that rescues, rehabs and rehomes horses. The volunteers that work there do an incredible job taking care of the animals
The Director does a great job of finding them forever homes.
All About Equine is very carefully managed, and has an incredible group of people that volunteer. It is an all- volunteer organization. I was blessed to meet these folks when I volunteered there. I was doubly blessed when I was allowed to adopt a 2.5 year old captive-born Mustang. He is a joy, he is now 6 years old! Very smart, and beautiful! My life is better for association with All About Equine. They provide Excellent and consistent care to the horses. Please help support All About Equine!
All About Equine is an outstanding rescue organization. Rescue of, and rehoming horses. Wonderful people saving horses who need care, love, and safety. I have been both a volunteer and I also adopted my amazing guy from All About Equine (see pic below - adopted at age 2.5). í ˝í°´í ˝í˛•
I can’t say enough good things - All About Equine takes is neglected, abused and sick horses and donkeys and gives them back a good life. They have a dedicated group of volunteers who show up and love what they do for the animals. This is an amazing group and I’m proud to be a volunteer with them.
If I had to make one statement describing my experience with All About Equine Animal Rescue, Inc. it would be that the organization’s leadership and volunteers make the welfare of the horses rescued their utmost priority. All horses, including senior horses and horses with challenging medical issues, are thoroughly evaluated and receive the appropriate veterinary care, nutritional diet and rehabilitation/training services needed. AAE has been very successful in finding loving, permanent homes for these horses.
This organization is absolutely phenomenal. The care and dedication everyone has for rehabilitation and rescuing these animals is out of this world. As a volunteer, I’ve seen scarcely feed horses replenish their weight and go on to be adopted by wonderful homes. There’s something so special about being able to impact a life like we do here at AAE.
The hearts of a horse is large, but the hearts of all about equine are larger!
I have been volunteering at AAE for the past few years. I love volunteering here. We help horses who have been abandoned, neglected or surrendered. Everything we do here is for the horses welfare. We care for the horses by cleaning their stalls, feeding them, grooming them and just giving them love on a day to day basis. The goal is to rehabilitate and find them a forever home. Many horses have found loving homes all because of the hard work by the organization and the many volunteers at AAE. It is a great organization!!!
It's been 8 years since i started volunteering here at AAE. The love that the animals get from all the volunteers and their hard work helps make this a truly amazing rescue. Over the years their have been some very hard cases come thru the gates, but the transformation is so amazing. While at AAE the animals get the love, all the care they need. The founder Wendy is like a horse whisperer. She can gain their trust when it seems like no one else can - its great to watch her with them. From the babies to the seniors, from the weak to the strong - each one has their own unique personalities and love to let you know. This place is good for the soul - animal and human alike. This is a fantastic place to volunteer. i've had many favorites over the years, and it makes you happy when they find their forever home. The people are fantastic, friendly - helpful. You can't help but fall in love with being there and helping. Nothing like the smell of horses in the morning!
I have been volunteering at AAE for 7 years now. It is truly a wonderful, caring place that transforms the lives of the animals that take in. The people are loving and caring and the you can really see in the eyes of the horses that they feel safe. Over the years I've had a few favorites - as does everyone! Its wonderful to see them get healthy and then find their forever homes. If you are having a bad day or week, come out and volunteer - the feeding, mucking and the smells (yes they smells) will rejuvenate you on a whole other level.
Wendy and her team of dedicated volunteers have helped countless horses from surrenders to neglected situations ect. They do a fabulous job rehabilitating and all of the horses receive any and all medical attention they need. I highly recommend checking out their horses first if you are thinking about adopting.
This non profit is so near and dear to my heart. The hard work and dedication of the volunteers is amazing. Everyday they make a difference in the lives of horses that come to AAE. It is a wonder and I am so thankful to be a part of this organization.
This horse rescue has become my family. I love my fellow volunteers and the work we are able to do for the horses! I definitely recommend checking this organization out.
My daughter and I joined AAE because she loves horses. We aren’t able to get out there often but when we do, we are welcomed like we’ve been every weekend. She loves grooming the horses and watching them rehab and knowing she is helping if only a little. She even enjoys mucking the stalls! AAE is a great place to volunteer and we love the crew.
These volunteers are absolutely wonderful. They are patient and loving and have that magic element that takes an abandoned and neglected horse to a healthy and happy horse.
The facility is a loving home donated by the loving parents of the founder.
Wonderful equine rescue. They are very professional and caring of their volunteers and horses.
All About Equine is a lifesaver. Not only for the horses and other animals that have been rescued but for many of its volunteers too. I know I would be in a very unhappy place if I hadn’t found this place a few years ago. I really look forward to my weekly volunteer shift. It’s wonderful to spend time with the horses and help in their healing and rehabilitation and ultimately in the placement in their forever homes. This organization is so well run and it’s main focus above and beyond, is the animals welfare. I love being able to support such a great organization.
I love this group of people and the horses they care for. I started volunteering here in June and found everyone who volunteers here is hardworking, caring and kind. They love all the horses and work hard to ensure each horse gets the best care possible. Of special mention is Wendy who oversees all care and treatment of these beautiful animals. She seems to have endless energy and checks on all horses making sure they are getting the best care possible. There has never been a day I have been there where I haven’t seen Wendy at the barn overseeing the horses’ care and treatment. I’m so happy to be associated with this nonprofit and can’t say enough good things about it.
My story is too long to tell. What I will say is that this organization is operating with the integrity any rescue should be led. It is spearheaded by individuals with the wellbeing of animal and human alike. I have the utmost respect and gratitude for this organization.
AAE really cares about the wellbeing of the animals and the funds are used appropriately and the volunteers are dedicated and loyal to this amazing cause.
AAE is one of the best Equine resques that I know! Wendy her self does a Great job with every animal that comes in to her care. Without her and her volunteers who knows what would happen to those animals. If I get another horse I will adopt one from her. They All are seen by a Veteranarian and when adopted out you get the updated information on the horse you adopt. Thank you AAE for all the hard work you you do.
My husband and I started donating time as well as hand made decorations to All About Equine a few years ago. Wendy works very hard at keeping her horses and volunteers happy, it is always a pleasure to see the people that work so hard to care for the animals that come in to this rescue. I would very highly recommend this rescue to anyone who is looking for a horse that is well cared for no matter what the issue is that the horse has. Thank you so much for what you all do to save these horses.
I am a volunteer with AAE and I have nothing but positive things to say about the organization. The horses are beautifully maintained, vet checked, and taken care of impeccably. The people at AAE are very supportive, positive in nature, and understand this is something we all do out of the goodness of our hearts. The organization has been built from a foundation of love.
All About Equine is more than a rescue filled with loving and caring people who work extremely hard to nurture and heal the damaged bodies, minds and spirits of horses. They are a community of wonderful people who show broken and damaged people how to heal their minds and spirits through the transforming power of loving and caring for a horse. Look at the Programs on their website and you find special days for Children, Seniors and Veterans. What you don't see are the people who train and mentor volunteers who are disabled or emotionally damaged or utterly clueless when it pertains to how to care for a horse.
If your thinking "A Horse Rescue should only rescue horses. Why rescue people?" Think about this...Horses are abused and neglected and killed Every Day. By People Who Were ..Never Taught..How to Care About and Care For a Horse.
All About Equine is all about rescuing horses now. And rescuing horses in the future, by teaching people how to love, protect and care for a horse.
I started volunteering with AAE in basic horse care after moving to the area from my lifelong home in Northern Virginia. AAE immediately became a new home, they took my life long love of horses, with interrupted riding experiences and helped me learn about actual horsemanship; with insight into daily needs as well as their approach to medical care. I learned so much during my time there it's hard to express, only a career driven move from the area broke my 3 days a week comittment to time spent - I've been away from daily chores for awhile now and still miss AAE every day. The horses are amazing, the people are amazing. I had some experience with a few rescues, horse and small animal, before I started volunteering here and in comparison this is truly an amazing organization - if you love horses or just love four leggers AAE is a blessing, try it and see!
A barn friend that helps with AAE invited me to attend the fundraiser, Boots and Bling last year, so I bought tickets for husband and self. Just prior to the event a sickly foal was rescued and needed almost hourly care. The event went on, but in the parking lot was a well bedded trailer with the foal, and intravenous taped securely to the neck. Volunteers rotated being with the foal throughout the evening, as well as the many volunteers that manned the stations at the event. For daily care at the property volunteers do all the care on a shift basis. Now there is a used tack store to further expand the ways to raise funding for the rescued horses. I have never seen such dedication to horses as at AAE.
AAE is just overall amazing. I adopted a horse from them 3 years ago and had the best experience going through the adoption process. It is very clear that everyone at AAE loves each and every horse on the property and a lot of effort is put into helping all of the horses.
I adopted my mare from AAE in 2015. I had the best experience going through the adopting process. My mare was untouchable when I first got her so, AAE allowed me to spend a month with her there before I adopted her. Wendy is a fantastic person and is so knowledgeable. The volunteers are always so nice and everything is very organized. All of the staff and volunteers were so supportive of Kona and I and they continue to be! I would recommend this rescue to anybody looking for a rescue horse.
I adopted Bailey from AAE 2 years ago. She was 2 years old then. From my 1st email asking questions about her to the day I came from Nevada to pick her up ,all interactions and experiences were positive! Wendy and staff are passionate and professional! They truly care about every animal in their care. My horse had a terrible start to life. They laid a great foundation for her, helping her to trust humans again. I now have a confident & willing young horse and am having so much fun with her!!! I'm so happy I found AAE! I commend them for their excellent care, training and giving!
AAE is an amazing Horse Rescue.
The comunity of volunteers is like a big family for all animals, horses, and humans.
The people working with and for all the horses and farm animals do all they can do.
It is my pleasure and my honor to be part of AAE!
AAE does such incredible work to save horses! It’s a wonderful organization to volunteer for too.
I started volunteering at AAE a couple of months ago. They do amazing work here and help so many horses in unfortunate situations, they nurse them back to good health, acclimate those that are not use to being around people gain their courage and provide a loving touch and kind words to these gentle souls. I am proud to be just a small part of this amazing group of people that so generously give of their time to these beautiful creatures! Please help them continue to do this amazing work!
I have volunteered at AAE for 4 years, and I know that this organization does what it claims. The horses, no matter what the condition, are taken care of with love and care.
I love AAE! The horses are well cared for and the volunteers are wonderful!
No previous horse experience, now after over a year have good friends (two- and four-legged).
AAE helps abused and neglected horses get their lives back. All the volunteers truly care about the horses, and give them lots of love.
AAE goes above and beyond to provide their horses with the care and love they need to get healthy.
I am just awestruck by the abilities and kindenesses of the wonderful people who really ARE All About Equine! I had never heard of this organization before a few years ago when I tried my own hand at horse adoption. Though for me it turned out that my then-current experiences with horses were not honed well enough for me to adopt my first "forever" horse, I had the first-hand experience of visiting AAE and, through thoughtful and patient conversation with Wendy diGiorno, was able to find direction on the path to my first horse. Though I'm still travelling that path, thanks to Wendy and her associate, Sharon, I am fully confident that I'm headed the right way, thanks to that never-to-be-forgotten afternoon for me at AAE. Theirs is an organization which truly takes to heart the specific needs of the individual horses and prospective owners for the best possible "forever" outcome for all concerned. How fortunate for California that AAE is here!
AAE is an exceptionally run organization full of dedicated, caring volunteers who make it their mission to provide each animal with the tender loving care they deserve.
I adopted a wonderful pony from AAE a few years ago. They do a lot of community outreach and education as well as programs for young children. I was impressed with the amount of work they do with the horses. The pens and pastures were clean and in good shape. You could tell the horses were well taken care of and loved the staff and volunteers. They are also great about posting updates on adoptions and rescue efforts. Open, honest people who truly have the animals best interest in mind.
AAE is a wonderful organization that has found homes for dozens of horses in need. My wife has volunteered there for a few years and I enjoy going to the events with her.
As a volunteer at All About Equine I am amazed every day by the horses and wonderful people involved with this rescue. This all-volunteer horse rescue is the real thing and puts the horses first. A very dedicated group of volunteers provides quality care for the horses while enjoying a friendly working environment. Lasting friendships are made here, everyday…equine and human.
I adopted a beautiful horse from AAE. This rescue is exceptional because they take the best care of the horses they take in, spare no expense when it comes to medical care by using a top notch horse clinic in the area, and they are tireless and innovative with their fundraising. They have been very consistent and placed a lot of horses in good homes. I would always go to AAE first if I wanted to get a new horse because you always know exactly what you are getting. They disclose everything about a horse's history, always have the best interest of their horses in mind, and they are 100% dedicated to making a difference.
This is such an amazing non-profit group. The work they do truly makes the world a better place one day at a time. I have been involved for several years now and have seen their work positively affect humans and horses beyond what words can describe. One of the most rewarding experiences has been watching the transformation of mammas and babies rescued from slaughter and through amazing dedication, patience, and love from volunteers seeing those same terrified, battered and essentially wild horses learn to trust humans. Then, in what can only be described as fate, those same horses come full circle to help humans learn to trust, have patience, and put their faith in another animal just as they did. It's truly remarkable to see the journey for both horse and human, and with AAE it is experienced on a daily basis.
Hey, if you don't mind getting dirty, mucking, and spending time with beautiful horses, AAE is the place to be. I had a horse a long time ago. I spent time with her grooming, riding etc. I was in heaven. I loved my little girl named Joy. I wasn't able to get another horse I missed the calmness and love between an animal and her mom (me). Some one told me about this organization that rescues horses and I immediately jumped on the band wagon, called and spoke to Judy to sign up for orientation and have never left. I was volunteering 3 days a week now I'm volunteering 4 days a week I'm on my 4th month. The shift leaders I have worked with Sue, Ashley and Michele are wonderful and full of information.
This is the place to be if you want to be with horses.
I've had an incredible time volunteering here and will continue to do so, I love working with all the horses and the other volunteers - it's truly a one-of-a-kind community that cares about horses and makes a difference.
This is a really great volunteer place. There are really nice horses. These people do great and important work. I love volunteering here. Everyone is so nice.
All about equine is such an amazing rescue. I was so happy to discover such a great place, and I have fallen in love with all the rescue horses there. It brings my joy to be able to help them!
Four years ago we were looking for another horse. Our others horses had come from another equine nonprofit rescue. We wanted to continue our practice of embracing rescued horses. Since the last nonprofit rescue proved to be lacking ethical standards, we continued our search. Finding All About Equine Animal Rescue (AAE) turned out to be a true blessing. The director was very open with us regarding the nonprofit. We were able to obtain all information regarding their board, finances, veterinary services, etc. We were amazed at the transparency of AAE. After finding our wonderful horse, we felt so at ease to continue donation regularly. We also help financially with their fundraisers, medical issues, and general care. Two years ago we were able to find another horse from this organization. We feel blessed to know the honorable and virtuous nature of the rescue and its director. They have an all volunteer group taking care of the horses, each having such dedication to the cause.
When I first learned about All About Equine rescue I knew nothing about the terrible things done to horses. I myself am not a horse person so I asked what I could do to help out to save horses. The founder Wendy is just a friend and explained that they need all kids of volunteers. I decided that since I had a pickup Maybe I could help with picking up donations. Well that soon turned into making weekly runs to the feed store for Hay.55 gallon barrels of feed along with many other things needed. I have since moved away from the area but I do miss helping such a great cause. I miss all the volunteers who were always there to help me unload what ever I brought back to the rescue. Dave was the best of all and he always laughed at how I unloaded the hay, but was always there to bring the bales to the back of my truck. Is there a better rescue in the area. Not at all. theses people do the very best job possible as far as I am concerned.
This group is top notch, state of the art, natural horsesmanship plus to all who enter. They have a nurturing core group that makes sure all things great and small are taken care of before fostering or adoption.
I love volunteering for this rescue, because they have such wonderful horses and people.
When I started coming to this rescue, I didn't realize how much I would fall in love with the place, the volunteers, and of course the wonderful horses. It's an unbelievable feeling to be able to see the horses trust people again and heal. Some have even become a completely different horse by being at the rescue. I have seen horses come in very sad and defeated and leave as a happy, free spirit to their new forever homes. It is a rewarding experience every day I am able to go.
I started volunteering at AAE as way to give back to my community. Little did I know that I would gain so much more than I could ever give. It is a privilege to work beside so many hardworking and dedicated animal lovers. Of course our horses are breathtaking which makes it easy to spend time caring for them until they're matched with their forever home.
Awesome work with rescued equines that have been neglected, abused or rescued from horse slaughter. My favorite horse changed each shift I worked, as each horse had their own special story to share. When one takes the time to listen, the horses have much to share.
All About Equine is an honest, hardworking community of volunteers dedicated to animal rescue. Rain or shine AAE rises.
I love this place. I have volunteered there for almost 2 years now working with the horses and child's program. There is a great sense of community and everyone is on the same page to reach the common goal ... help all who pass thru our doors.
I have been at AAE for 1 year now and every week I learn something new and feel a sense of community being there. It has now become part of my routine, it is close and fulfills the need to pay it forward. The shift leaders work hard to make the volunteers feel needed and also accomendate special requests. sorry for the spelling.
My wife volunteers here regularly and enjoys it immensely. I know that she gains a sense of pride and well being from her time there. I myself have volunteered on occasion, and witnessed firsthand the good that these folks do - both for the animals they care for and the children and adults who donate their time and energy.
All About Equine is a wonderful place to encounter not only the horses and farm animals, but also the warm people that come together to help them. The barn is a great place to watch and aid in the transformation of animals and humans as they learn to feel safe and to work with each other; a truly remarkable place to renew your spirit while giving of yourself.
This organization works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and help rehome a variety of companion animals with love & patience. Definitely one of my favorite local nonprofits.
I had horses as a child and missed being around these majestic creatures so I found All About Equine. They offer fantastic opportunities for people of all ages & capabilities to interact with rescued animals. Everyone involved at this organization are such great people who truly care about the welfare of all animals and it is something I will remember forever.
wonderful place to learn about horses and see the passion put in by this organization. their first priority is the horses, and you can see it everyday when you show up to feed and care for the horses. they are their with a smile and love what they do. it is really an inspiration, every rescue can follow this organizations example.they are simply wonderful people.
I have been volunteering with All About Equine for over 2 years now! There is NOTHING I do not love about the rescue, the volunteers and of course, the animals. Everyone is so willing to educate those around them with what they've found works, what doesn't work. They allow new volunteers to grow in their confidence and to learn how to "read" the animals. I help on the Grants Team and the success and growth that we have seen is beyond measurable. Just this year we were awarded two large grants from the ASPCA because of the amazing work the rescue and it's volunteers do. I can't believe I waited so long to start volunteering. Greatest experiences of my life have happened at AAE!
As a little girl I always dreamed of owning my own horse and riding off into the sunset...well the reality of living in an apartment as a child kind of dashed that dream. As I grew older that dream and desire never diminished. Knowing though that I could not yet financially own a horse I figured I'd work on my horsemanship and learn the ropes of owning a horse.
I researched nonprofits in the area to find those that would satisfy my need to learn and my passion to help. I found All About Equine and I've NEVER been happier. All About Equine's mission is to help rehabilitate and rehome the beautiful animals that they take in. In the 4 months I have been volunteering I have seen horses who have come in wild and fearful - be cared for so deeply that they are now able to be haltered and are on their way to being a less anxious animal. I've seen at least 5 horses go to their forever homes. I've seen kids who were afraid of horses learn enough to know that the horse is a gentle giant who just wants to please but deserves respect. I've seen a baby Barbados Sheep who was abandoned by her mama be taken in and loved by not only the founder and all the volunteers but even the resident Golden Retriever Holli who also "mothered" another baby sheep who needed the love.
All About Equine's volunteer staff and their trainers are amazing. There are no words that can express the impact they've had on my life and my future. I love them all so dearly and I look forward every week to my Saturday morning shift of feeding, mucking and grooming. It's the highlight to my week.
I STRONGLY recommend All About Equine to anyone who is looking to adopt, foster, learn and love. There truly is no better place.
I've been volunteering a few hours each week for 2 months now and can tell you that this rescue is awesome. Each and every volunteer is dedicated to the cause and have given their all to make sure each animal is well taken care of. Its a pleasure to arrive at this ranch in the morning and see its residents waiting patiently for their feed, the hugs and never ending gestures of love. AAE is the best in Folsom, CA!!
After two and a half years of volunteering at All About Equine, I still find new challenges and rewards from working with such generous people and the horses that need us as much as we need them. There are more rewards from the time we spend helping horses recover from poor health or mistreatment than can be itemized here. Thank you to all the volunteers and core leaders for creating such a loving environment.
My daughter and I started volunteering and found that it is a wonderful place to work! I love the people and those who run the rescue are kind and caring. It is fun to work there and it provides a level of contentment that is so fulfilling. It helps us as much as we help them!
My experience here has been wonderful. There are many great volunteers out there that are committed to making sure the horses are taken care of, rain or shine. Dave Fulton and Wendy Digiorno are wonderful people who are dedicated to the health and happiness of these horses. There are not words to describe the peaceful feeling I get from working for the horses at AAE. They are a well run facility, everyone there is working toward the same goal - to care for the horses until the right forever home finds them.
I have volunteered at AAE on and off for several years. I believe in what AAE is doing for the horses, saving one life at a time. I have seen changes in scared horses and debilitated horses . I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful organization. I have adopted a horse from AAE and will continue to speak about their efforts whenever I can.
I have worked with All About Equine for over 4 years. I have personally witnessed scared and starving horses turn into the beautiful creatures they were intended to be. All the volunteers who spend time with these horses are trying to heal their scars from human errors. It is a great feeling when the horses get adopted and we know we have done the right thing! I am proud of AAE and proud to be a part of the wonderful opportunity to serve these magnificent animals~
AAE is a wonderful example of how a rescue should be run. Wendy and many other dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to meet or exceed each animal's individual needs. Each animal is genuinely cared for and loved (many for the first time). Once they have been rehabilitated and are strong enough to start their new life, they are lovingly placed in their new home. AAE is a slice of heaven on earth!
Great group...working hard to help the horses of N. Calif. Recommend them often both to those needing help with rescuing and those looking for a horse.
As a former board member of a non-profit horse rescue, I am very impressed with AAE. It is not often that you find an organization that balances both resources and capabilities with the number of animals that they rescue. This is so critical in the success of any non-profit because most keep taking just one more and soon become overwhelmed and fail. Wendy is an amazing and dedicated leader who keeps everything balanced and moving forward. Keep up the excellent work, AAE.
I am a new volunteer to AAE and I am very impressed with the level of organization and attention to detail. The volunteer program is well run and I appreciate being able to show up and know exactly what needs to be done and where i can help. The horses are all well cared for and their individual needs well met. Everyone at AAE is so kind and helpful. Great group of people to be involved with!
I have volunteered at All About Equine Animal Rescue for 5 years. During those 5 years, I've seen over 100 horses be given a second chance to survive and thrive and hopefully, find their forever homes. To date, nearly 75% of the rescued and rehabilitated horses have, indeed, found that opportunity for a new beginning. The many dedicated volunteers are instrumental in the successful adoptions as well as the daily maintenance and care of the young and senior horses who reside at the AAE ranch. Not only is the "hands-on" work rewarding for me but being around so many caring and focused people is down right fun! If you are at a place in your life where you think AAE might be a "fit" for you, please check out this organization: www.allaboutequine.org
Not only will you possibly change the life of a horse, you might change your life, as well :)
As a "senior citizen", I NEVER thought my dream of being with/around horses and calling one my own was ever going to be a reality. Well, dreams do come true. I started volunteering in the summer of 2009. All About Equine Animal Rescue not only rescues and rehabilitates horses, but also creates a positive atmosphere for volunteers who have the desire and passion for the noble equine. As a volunteer, I was welcomed into the organization, mentored on the ways of the barn and horses, and allowed to help do what I had always wanted to do..........make a difference to a horse. Check out All About Equine Animal Rescue.org. Come to the orientation class and see first hand for yourself. See you in a paddock!
