My husband and I do not have any children. He is a retired CMSgt in the Air Force and we live in New Braunfels. We have a good friend who works with Soldiers' Angels. I received an email about your adopt a family at Christmas. I called my friend asking her opinion about the program and she indicated she has adopted families. So I applied for the program and selected a family of five who live on Ft Sam. They have three young children and it has been an absolute joy to shop for the family (especially shopping for children). We delivered the presents to the family and was able to visit with them. We try to stay in contact with them. AND, I got the birth dates of the children so am sending them presents on their special day. We found out that the youngest child's birthday is the same as my husband, and the second oldest birthday is the same as mine. So this whole process has been a joy and fun.

Soldiers’ Angels is an awesome organization! I started off as the VA representative for two central Arkansas VA hospitals. I’m now on the letter writing team and the special ops forces team. Not only do I get great support from my team leaders, the support goes all the way to the top with Amy Palmer! The letters and emails I have received from deployed troops is very heartwarming. They appreciate everything we do. And I visited with over 8000 veterans at the VA hospitals and I can tell you, that is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. If it was not for some unfortunate circumstances, I would still be doing that today! One thing I learned working with this organization is that they care about every angel, every veteran and all
Our military. They are so many ways to volunteer and I promise you, it makes a difference! Until the day I die, or as long as I physically can, I will be a Soldiers Angels volunteer!

I am a 50 year old physically disabled person who loves her country deeply. After 9/11 my need to help other Americans seemed more important, so I started to research. I looked into it and it seemed that I checked every military 501c organization there was, and I chose Soldiers Angels. I'm so ecstatic that I did! First of all I work with soldiers directly on the front lines in active war zones over seas, so I know I'm making a difference. We sometimes forget these soldiers are in a far away place sometimes receiving no letters or care packages from a friend or family which can make it seem very lonely when they are already under so much stress. Just hearing their name at roll call can make a bad day so good for them. Sometimes the Service Members are in areas where a simple cookie sent from us can seem like the best thing in the world and put a smile on their face that is hard to forget. Nothing is better than getting correspondence back from a far away land too. I see my packages in their hands so I know my contributions are making a difference, because I send it directly to them. I have incredible support from my team leaders with every question that I may have, and if they don't have the answer they will go all the way to the CEO to get an answer for me with no problem. Most of all I have never seen a group of people more dedicated to helping other people with such love, encouragement, dedication, and determination to get things to them no matter where our soldiers are fighting for our freedom every day. We are Soldiers Angels and we are awesome incredible angels. I will always be an angel.....

I first heard about the Soldiers’ Angels Organization through google when I was looking for volunteer opportunities helping veterans who served. I stumbled across the organization and from the moment I joined, it became so much more than just volunteering my time. I really, really love helping our service members who are deployed overseas, our veterans who are in need of assistance or who just want a card for the holidays, as well as helping the families of those who have loved ones deployed and/or veterans who have served our country. Soldiers’ Angels is a excellent, compassionate, and family-unit that cares about not only their volunteers, but most importantly our service members, veterans, and military families. I am proud to wear my Soldiers Angels gold pin and proud to be a team angel with the organization.

I've never volunteered with a more organized and efficient organization! It makes your volunteer work feel that much more meaningful and impactful. The wide variety of teams lets you volunteer as much or as little fits your life and comfort level. Some teams do work in-person, and many teams allow you to volunteer right from your home. There are private communities on Facebook for these teams to provide support. This is an excellent system for everyone across the globe to connect, share, and ask questions. If you ever need more formal assistance there are several team leaders you can email or call for help as well. I love the work I do with Soldiers' Angels, and I love working with Soldiers' Angels! Both sides of the experience are great!

The photos show me preparing care packages for deployed service members right from my home!

Soldiers’ Angels has been an amazing organization to volunteer with. The organization itself has changed my life in so many ways. The team leaders have been so helpful and are so involved with their groups! For what it’s worth, coming from a long line of family who served this organization makes all the difference. For us and for those overseas. They pride themselves on making sure each and every service member overseas knows that they will not go unloved. With that being said, I plan to be with this group for a very long time!

When I deployed with my husband to Afghanistan 2010-2011, I had an Angel "Teresa" write to me weekly. I absolutely loved it. When I got out in 2016 I decided I wanted to give back and support the Ladies of Liberty. I know how tough it can be to be a female in the military which is why I chose LOL. Thank you Soldiers Angels for all the amazing things you do.

As an active duty service member who served in Afghanistan, I was blessed with an Angel, Teresa who wrote me letters every week for 6 months. Now that I am a combat veteran I give back by sending a box monthly to a female soldier through the LOL- Ladies of Liberty group. I am also a part of a SOF team who sends boxes monthly along with letters of encouragement. I love being able to send a little something from home to these men and women. Soldier's Angels is an amazing organization that helps everyone anyway that they can, from veterans to active duty.

I have been volunteering with Soldiers' Angels since 2009, and it has been one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences I've ever had. You get to connect with a wonderful group of like minded Angels who are true patriots that love their country and the men and women who sacrifice(d) so much for our nation's freedoms. You get to help brighten the day of active duty service men and women, their families and veterans.

I have been involved with Soldiers’ Angels for several years. I have donated money, goods (blankets, socks, Christmas stockings, Halloween Candy), and my time. I recently participated in a San Antonio Food Distribution Event. The looks and expression of appreciation from those we were serving were truly humbling. I have been in their office several times and have witnessed the genuine care and concern they have for our Veterans, Active Duty Members, and their families. As a retired AF Lt Col, it is an honor to support those who have and are serving.

I love to bake and share with others. I was looking for a way to share all my baking and was informed about a group called Soldiers Angels. After reading about this amazing organization I knew I had to become a volunteer and thus began my journey as a Baking Angel. Knowing my homemade goodies are giving our men and women a little bit of home and some comfort gives me joy and a feeling of knowing this is one way I can help. I also have joined a couple of other Angel Teams since and I support them by sending them a monthly care package alone with weekly mail in hopes they receive mail from me each week. I know my packages go directly to the solider and they know they are not forgotten. My husband is retired military and this is something we can do together. We have fun shopping for items on sale, he knows what they can use so we are on the lookout and building up our supplies for future boxes.I love what we are doing, its fun, and for a very worthwhile organization.

I have worked with many charities but never one like Soldiers' Angels. I adopt deployed service members through this wonderful organization and their gratitude for even the smallest thing that reminds them of home and that people care is worth so much. Another great thing, is that I know what I send goes directly to the service member, not for overhead or to pay staff, because I buy and ship the care packages myself. I came across Soldiers Angels around the holidays. I read up on the Angels and decided to join. I started in the sending, stockings and in the cards group. I moved around to adopting soldiers. Sending Thank you cards to Honor Flights. There's no better feeling than a deployed soldier sending you a Thank you for sending a package or card to them. Something that is so small to us means the world to them. What it comes down to is. We are the land of the free because they are the brave. They risk it all for us and it's my pleasure sending them things to make their deployment a little easier

I have been a volunteer since 2008 and now a Group Leader with the Deployed Adoption Team. It is one of the most rewarding opportunities that I have experienced in my life. The support we give these men and women is not measurable. Our words of encouragement and support may be the only ones they receive. Soldiers' Angels helps every step of the way, from providing the names to adopt to making care packages available from their store that we can just call and order. Our support from beginning of life with the Baby Brigade Team through the Veterans support reinforces our motto, "May No Soldier Go Unloved". Our President, Amy Palmer, also a Veteran understands what it means to be in the military and strives to meet the needs of our service members. She is one of the nicest people that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Please come join us! You won't regret it. Even when life hands us what seems to be more than we can handle, helping others is the best medicine, that I know from experience. You'll find a purpose in Soldiers' Angels. The fulfillment you get by helping to lift others up will lift you as well. Come join my group! I'll help you every step of the way!

I really love this organization. I have been with them for over 11 years now and cannot imagine my life without being involved. Supporting our Service Members has always been on my mind since being a young person and being exposed to the Viet Nam war on television. I wanted to make a difference in the lives of our military. I have a notebook full of photos and letters and cards from many of them. Last year I had the wonderful opportunity of adopting a young girl that served as part of a medic team. I was able to make the holidays a lot better for her team, through her adoption. I am still in contact with her now, even after her deployment ended. She is now out of the military after 12 years of service and is in nursing school. She plans to re-join once she is finished with school, proudly as a nurse. I couldn't be more proud if she was my own daughter! This organization has some of the very best administration that I have ever worked with. You can be involved as little or as much as you would like. There is a letter writing team that the team requirement is one letter per month. That's it! After all, it is words of support, from the country these young men and women are fighting for, that means so much! There are 11 different teams of various support you can be involved with. One volunteer said she tells people that we are involved from birth to passing. And it's true. There is a team that has virtual baby showers for expecting spouses of deployed military. We have our veteran support programs to help those who gave so much in past service. I am now a Group Leader for the Deployed Adoption Team because of my love for this organization. It truly is a lot of fun and you will get much more satisfaction from your involvement than you could ever realize. Please check us out!

And as important as this service is to our military, the feeling of helping support our troops is both humbling and satisfying to me personally. I urge anyone who wants to appreciate the job these folks do, so far away from home, to join this awesome organization.

This company does so many amazing things for our enlisted, veterans, spouses of wounded warriors and much more. I am proud to be a member for the past 11 years on their baking team and supporting spouses. They never ask for anything for themselves. There are so many of us that volunteer. The military community is so grateful for the extra care we give them. It is a non profit that truly is for the benefit of our military.

I am a volunteer here who has loved being able to connect with service members who are deployed through handwritten letters and gift packages. I also love being able to interact with Veterans through the Soldiers' Angels organization at the VA hospital in my hometown. I have gotten so many responses from soldiers who appreciate all we do. I get so much joy from being able to write as many letters as I want a week. I love being able to remind a deployed solider that they are always in our thoughts and that all they do never goes unnoticed back in the states. Soldiers' Angels is so user friendly for any type of person who wants to dedicate whatever amount of time or effort to their cause. I have also met so many other likeminded volunteers who express the same joy for what I do. The community is so friendly, and I am so happy that I've been a part of such a wonderful effort that the Soldier Angels program dedicates itself to.

Theses folks who needs some help all the time. Our aging vets. Once a month they line up regardless of the weather and pass out food I can use the rest of the month to fill in the “gaps”. It is a charity that helps individuals have food items we probably would not have on the table everyday. Tears well up each time I drive away with bags of food. They are special and I can’t thank them enough.

I received a phone call before Christmas, and a few weeks later a box with gifts for my girls, a gift card for Christmas dinner and holiday card. I am so proud of Soldier's Angels and being able to volunteer with them. How many charities can count 100k+ volunteers, serve thousands and thousands of military men, women and veterans with only 16 paid staff members? Wow, that is dedication from everyone!! THANKYOU ALL SO MUCH!! Our military families and veterans are so very grateful for the love and care everyone at Soldier's Angels gives them; I've seen it myself...Jennifer putting her arm around a retired vet and sharing a moment.

The way the information is given out are not fair to some veterans. I received the email and applied immediately, not even up to two minutes. I immediately received automated message that it was filled up. I can't even get on the waiting list and this happened to me four months in a row. Therefore I truly believed that there is some inside favoritism going on with this program. I can give my name if I am allowed to and I am not the only one that has been experiencing this. I am a disabled veteran, I know it is a free program, however, you have to do it right or I will take it to further investigations. My email is prosign2003@yahoo.com. Thanks.

Thank you so much for your feedback. The Soldiers’ Angels Veteran Mobile Food Distributions are first-come/first-served. Unfortunately, our events can only provide support to 200 veterans per month. For your particular market, we have an email & text message distribution list of well over 1,000 veterans. When we release the registration link to those lists, the event fills up incredibly fast due to the large amount of individuals in need of support. The event in your market fills in approximately 10 minutes on average. If you don’t sign up to register within the first few minutes, you will not make it before the link shuts down. Based on our records of your email address, for the last four months it has actually been several hours between the time the email was released and you clicked on the registration link. Therefore, the event had been filled for several hours already by the time you attempted to register. We are working to grow our program, but it will likely always fill quickly.

I got started with Soldiers Angels in the fall of 2017; I have absolutely adored being part of the Soldiers Angels team and helping to support the military! There are so many ways to serve by joining various teams or participating in any of the many events held throughout the year. The support that we receive from our team leaders via email, calls, or social media is very timely and greatly appreciated. Amy chance I get I’m telling others about Soldiers Angels and how it’s made a huge impact on me not only those we serve.

I got involved with Soldiers' Angels last fall while searching for my company's annual service project, I jumped in head first and have never looked back! I have referred many friends and family to the organization based off the overwhelming sense of service that I get every time I send out packages to those deployed. When I hear back from them it's usually them telling me how much I've made their day, little do they know, they've made MINE! I have never felt so passionate about being part of something so huge and am blessed to have the opportunity to work with Soldiers' Angels!

Soldiers Angels is a helpful and generous organization, one I'm proud to be a part of. They do just what they say they do. Through Soldiers Angels we can reach out and touch those who are serving and have served our country and us.
Soldiers Angels have programs that range from writing one letter one time to participating in "through the mail" baby showers, adopting a deployed soldier, providing programs at the VA's, baking, and so much more !
Being ex-military ( wife) I know and understand exactly what it feels like to be away from all you know and love and what a wonderful feeling it is to hear from someone, ANYONE , from home. My choice through this group has been to adopt deployed soldiers. They are so appreciative of anything we do, even a post card can lift their day. It is humbling to hear what the little we do means to them. It is a joy to me to think that with just a little effort I can let someone I don't know and probably will never meet, someone in uncomfortable, difficult circumstances, who stands between us who value our freedom, and those who would take it away, that they are thought of and cared about, something we all need.
It is a privilege to me to be able to do this.
Join us and help every soldier hear their name at mail call !

You can write a letter, make a blanket, visit with vets... so many options. There is something for everyone to do, no skills necessary! Their support is much needed, so please consider joining it is only $1 a month to reach so many opportunities to help! They mean business when it comes to supporting our troops and vets!

I receive emails from this group. They share their package ideas with one another and inspire each other. This special group of people share their Love and heart and gratitude for our WARRIORS. Its amazing the heart and love these beautiful Angels have.
I hope to be one real soon.
I love and respect our WARRIORS too.
They help bring joy and fun to the lives of those in harms way miles and miles from home. Ask any WARRIOR who received a care package from these beautiful people and they will tell you how grateful they were to receive something from the heart of a Soldiers Angel. They do get something from their soldiers too. A note or card but most of all a warm feeling in their hearts knowing they helped someone's child in a time when chaos is all around them. As an adviser for a middle/high school service club, we became part of Soldier's Angels and "adopted" a sailor who, the day after deployment, became a daddy. It was our very first year with our club, so we were looking for something in which we could help, as well as learn about military service and what it is they go through on deployment. I took several different "soldiers" to our club members and they voted, unanimously for our sailor.

We were very excited to help him and his fellow shipment during their 6 months at sea.
We do not live anywhere near a military installation, and 99% of the students know close to nothing about military service, etc. Because of Soldier's Angels, our students learned quite a bit, and were VERY EXCITED to do so.

It a like they touch on every aspect of a soldiers life and their possible needs, as well as the connection to the soldiers family. I am happy to add any value I can. I have begun my own business and will include soldiers angels as a major nonprofit I will always contribute funds and time to as I know their integrity.
I am from a family full of military history.. for decades back . This is my favorite group .

I have been "adopting" deployed service members since 2006 through this wonderful organization. It is a great way to truly support members of the Armed Forces- through letters and packages sent directly to them. While I often just adopt 1 SM at a time, often packages will contain enough goodies to share (especially around holidays).

What do I get in return? I know I make a difference in someone's deployment, whether I have them for a few weeks or a year. It's nice to say we support our troops- it's even nicer to actually do something for them!

I adopted my first soldier in 2004. Writing one letter each week and sending one package per month seemed like such a simple way to reach out and help. What I didn't realize was just how much such simple gestures were appreciated by our soldiers!

Soldiers' Angels has made a huge impact on my life. The support is amazing, from their guidance through the process of adopting a soldier, to making you feel like you are part of a larger group of others who care, to making sure you are appreciated, to occasional mailings so you can show everyone you support Soldier's Angels' (not "junk mail, don't worry!).

Of course, the biggest draw is knowing that the men and women serving our country are being supported. Even if you never hear from the soldier you adopted, you know you made a difference in his or her deployment, and you have the opportunity to let them know how much they are appreciated!

I tell anyone who will listen about Soldiers' Angels! By far, it is the best group I have ever had joined!

Not only do they assist active members of the military community, with any type of assistance needed, but Soldiers Angels are always hosting sock drives, holiday cards and boxes. Coffee drives, and numerous other projects to help remind members of the military that they are loved and that the community at home is thinking about them. Soldiers Angels often partners with big box corporate America to assist veterans do home modifications/ home beatification protects. Often this gives the veterans a renewable since of pride with homeownership. Soldiers Angels doesn't chase high name of celebrity's endorsement and pay those exsobererent high salaries but yet Soldiers Angels have these big names volunteer and with more and more donating their salaries back to Soldiers Angels.

There is always a team leader to help and support if needed. The recipients are so thankful and the reporting is quick and easy through the web site. We receive official letters for our tax deductions at the end of each year. The Soldiers' Angels Facebook group is a great place to share ideas, share stories and photos about our soldiers and to be involved in the community. I went to a Soldiers' Angels event in San Antonio. The food was much needed and appreciated, and the vets and others out putting food in the trunk, were the nicest people you ever want to meet. I signed up for Soldier's Angels a couple years ago when my brigade was the first to do a 9 month deployment to Europe. We started in Poland and had very limited access to anything American and familiar, and morale was not great.
I signed up to have contact from home, and hopefully get some comforting snacks.
I had contact with multiple different Angels, and each one was extremely sweet and kind. There are two in particular that I still think about going on two years later.

Soldier's Angels was a way for me to connect with home and other people, and I'm extremely thankful to this day for this organization.

This is a fantastic group. My grandfather is a vet, so was my dad. I have had many friends in the military. All of them have said how important the support from home is while they are deployed. I have known soldiers to break down and cry when they get a simple card letting them know someone cares. I work at a university, and for the past few years, my students and I have put together care packages and letters for soldiers. It not only helps those who are far from home, but helps show my students the importance of connecting with others and that community service is valuable.

I first learned about Soldiers' Angels when my husband was in the army and I went to a military spouse appreciation event. I went by their booth and when the lady running the booth saw I was pregnant she offered a gift basket to us. It was so wonderfully sweet of them! Since I had signed up with them I would receive emails and letters about donation drives for care packages for deployed soldiers, as well as blanket and sock drives for veterans in the hospitals. I started donating for these fundraisers and the more I found what Soldier's Angels does for our active duty troops and veterans the more I got involved with them. I joined their card's plus team which sends cards to troops, veterans, and their families for birthdays, baby showers, deployment, and just general support. Last year I made them my birthday charity on Facebook, as well as on the day of giving where Facebook matched a certain amount of donations. I really love this charity. I love everything they stand for and everything they do for our heroes. After seeing my husband and his fellow soldiers go through deployment and those who are now veterans, I know how much a charity such as Soldier's Angels is needed.

I am a veteran from Charleston SC with only limited resources while trying to maintain a minimum sufficient means of caring for myself. The challenge that I must manueever through here in the peninsula downtown area is the high cost as Charleston continue to expand it's tourist base and major employers moving or migrating to the South. Very easy to get started and help a deployed soldier with letters and care packages. You pick the soldier from a list with sex, state, branch, and a bio message. You send a monthly package and weekly letter directly to the soldier. It's easy to spend an hour per letter or package. No set size or requirements on the package but a large USPS box can cost about $100 to fill with goodies and $17 to mail. You have to file a quick report on every thing you do that includes time and money spent, which is annoying. It can be difficult to keep this up for six months or more if the soldier can't write back. Overall this system is a great way to directly and personally help a soldier in need and I think it means a lot to the soldier and their family. Definitely recommended!

The telling sign of any "non-profit" or "charitable" organization is their commitment to actually put their funds in the hands of those they have dedicated to support. Soldier's Angels shows the same dedication to solders, sailors, Marines and Air Force that they in turn show to this country. Not only is an amazing amount of funding directly contributed, but they focus on specific needs and activities that are designed to provide the greatest impact - just like a military operation. On my last deployment a few years back, I was in command and wanted build up morale within my unit. I reached out to a number of organizations, and Soldiers' Angels responded with a care package for every person in my battery. Fast forward a few months, and we were in December. Another great program of SA, is their stockings to deployed service members during the holidays. I asked for enough stockings to give all junior Soldiers in my formation one each. My 1SG and I handed them out on Christmas Eve, creating a definite increase in morale; all thanks to the generous Soldiers' Angels team! A few years later, I learned that SA was looking to form an Advisory Council! PERFECT! My opportunity to give back! Working with SA has been a highly rewarding and enjoyable time with the amazing team! I had no idea the breadth and scope that SA takes upon their shoulders in care for our countries military until I joined the team. From deployed military, veterans, wounded heroes, and in my mind the often forgotten FAMILIES of all of these military members, SA serves them all; and at a 98% efficiency rating - unprecedented! Additionally, not only does SA have the traditional care packages like many others, but SA leaders are consistently looking to find new and innovative ways to give back. From "Hops for Heroes" to box lunches for vets in VA hospitals or homeless to baby showers for expectant mothers of deployed service members; SA DOES IT ALL!

I was Medevac in Iraq and the amazing medical team was working on me, the team had to cut off my uniform to do their job. At the end of the ordeal, I was sent to the recovery room and which was freezing cold, I was given a Soldiers Angels sweatshirt and from that day, my heart will always be there for this organization, that truly supports the Soldiers need.

As a prior Medical Center Director for one of the nations largest VA health systems and a veteran, I've had the privilege to see, interact and be apart of so many organizations focused on assisting veterans and their families. Soldier's Angles brings a unique value based on their passion for veterans and their families. They are an organization that started with one big loving heart and an enthusiasm to let those that had their boots in the sand know they were being thought of and cared about. Soldiers' Angels has a diversified program that encompasses serving and helping those that serve and have served. It's impressive to see the want and desire of the Soldier's and Angels staff, management team, board members and the many volunteers providing their time to support our military and veteran communities.

Being a Board member is a rewarding, exciting experience of service. The dedication, commitment, and plain hard work of the Soldiers' Angels management, staff, and volunteer teams have provided thousands of deployed military personnel, veterans and their families worldwide with much needed help and hope for 15 years. The greatest outpouring of love that I have experienced was through participation in the 15th anniversary event in San Antonio. Volunteers from all walks of life, and all ages joined together to assemble 15,000 care packages in one day. And as Charity Navigator shows, donations are used primarily for programs, with little for administration. It is an honor and privilege to be a Board member.

I am so proud to be involved in Soldiers' Angels, both as a volunteer and as a board member. The organization's leadership and staff is comprised of a group of dedicated and enthusiastic people whose high energy comes from their hearts.

Soldiers' Angels provides a wide range of programs and opportunities that support our military personnel, veterans and our military families. Currently I am participating in the Deployed Adoption Team, the Cards Plus Team and the Women of Valor Team, and I enjoy participating in the special opportunities, such as Valentines for Veterans, collecting warm socks, filling Christmas stockings - the list of ways to get involved goes on and on.

I encourage anyone interested in showing their support for our troops and their families, and for our honored veterans, to come join us. You will be welcome!

They attract the very best in the marketplace that can help expand the value to helping our soldiers and their families in the respective marketplace. They are not "A Rated" by Charity Navigator by mistake. They are an "A Rated" charity because they are the best at what they do and they spend donations on results driven activities. I first began with the deployed actions team. I fell in love with Soldiers Angels because they are actually a LEGIT group...who are 100% committed to helping the service members and their families.
With having service members in my family, and among my close friends, it has always been a passion to me to be able to help our deployed service members....since I know they do not receive the care they deserve. I love being able to be a part of a group that sheds such light and hope into the lives of the ones who are fighting to keep us safe, and free.
I have also had the privilege to be involved with the Baby Brigade teams. Sending love and fun and useful items to the young families which have Dad or Mom deployed.
That was some of the most fulfilling moments of my life. The fun of preparing the packages...and then receiving word how it helped the family.

Soldiers Angels is the most amazing organization I know of. They truly care....and it shows. The support the Group Leaders gives to us Angels is phenomenal....they are so informative...and truly become your friend.

I would suggest that anyone, who has a passion for our deployed service members, their families...and the veterans ....become involved in SA. You will not regret it.

I enjoy volunteering for Soldier's Angels as they have such a large variety of projects all geared toward supporting American troops of all branches, military families, or veterans and families. The financial commitment to be a certified angel is only $1/month, and participation can be via the mail or in many cases in local projects such as baby showers for expectant families. I have "adopted" a deployed troop member to mail letters and care packages regularly, and also collected support items to mail to deployed chaplains. Currently, I am on the letter-writing and card support teams, with a minimum requirement of writing a single letter and card monthly to various people. So many wonderful ways to express love, brighten a day, and express appreciation to those who bear the brunt of the battle for freedom! When my husband was deployed as a Navy chaplain, one of the joyous opportunities he had was to disperse care packages from Soldiers Angles to remind individuals they were thought of and cared for at home and greatly support morale!

On Veterans' Day this past year, I was looking for some way to support those that serve and came across Soldiers' Angels. I have since been part of the Ladies of Liberty Team and the Letter-Writing Team and mail something to 2 soldiers each month. Although I haven't posted to the Facebook page, I see how others do share on there pretty regularly and find it useful (and am glad) to see what others are doing. In the last few months, Soldiers' Angels has been emailing a monthly newsletter with updates and information, which I also find very useful and appreciate getting it. Although at times I wonder if packages are being received and feel badly I don't always have time to send a home-made treat, I am hopeful that what I am sending brings a little joy or a nice surprise to the soldiers who receive the packages.

I am very happy to be a part of Soldier's Angels because I feel that they are a REAL organization; meaning I Trust them and Trust that the monetary donations that I make are Truly going where SA says they are going and though each of 'my' soldiers hasn't been able to write to me, I trust that the letters and packages are going to soldiers who need the support, encouragement and goodies I send. The soldiers I have heard from tell me how 'every little bit helps' and 'it makes them feel good to know they are thought of by us here in the States'. I value my freedom and love the USA and am happy that with SA I have a way to Actually Tell and Show my appreciation and thankfulness Directly to The People who are Serving our country!

For the last several years, I have been honored to be a part of the Soldier's Angels crafting team. I spend countless hours on ball fields and chorus rehearsals with my teenagers and spend that time crocheting. Soldier's Angels has given me the opportunity to take those hours and turn them in to giving moments for our troops - all during the time that I spend with my family.
With every stitch, every skein of yarn, I feel that connection to our service men and women who will ultimately have a rough time in their lives brightened by the gifts I send.
Soldier's Angels has provided me the platform to continue to give of myself.

I have proudly volunteered as an "Angel" for almost 8 years and will continue to do so as long as possible. It's an outstanding organization. The love and support for our active service members, their families and our veterans is heartwarming. I think I get as much joy writing letters just as much as those on the receiving end when they hear their name at mail call. I would recommend anyone looking for a way to give back to those who serve to sign on with Soldiers' Angels.

I started with Soldier's Angels Letter Writing Team 3 years ago, to support the Troops overseas. I thought being so far away in Australia that I would blend in and probably never hear from anyone. Well so not true at all. The team leaders have been patient and wonderful & to my surprise the troops have proven to be curious about where I live and what I do to help out. All of us are volunteers and we do get recognised for our help and support. There is nothing like Soldiers Angels here in Australia on such a huge scale. I feel so much a part of this wonderfully supportive caring team, that it puts a smile on my face every day. I even wear Red for Friday's now. Woo Hoo

This is the only organization that I have received assistance from that has thanks me for my service and it didn't feel scripted. I am truly proud to be apart of an organization that brings so much happiness to so many individuals. I have seen the true compassion that is displayed amongst everyone and it warms my heart to watch the veterans faces when they are receiving food, conversation, even coffee at the main hospital. I started out by adopting a soldier. Then, I joined the Baby Brigade - doing virtual baby showers for expectant wives of deployed soldiers. I love to sew and crochet and this gives me an outlet for the things I make.
A friend of mine is a Vietnam vet, and that got me started in making lapghans, chemo hats and blankets for the VA Hospital. Which introduced me to the food bank for vets.
The cards plus team is wonderful. We send cards for birthdays; encouragement cards; get well cards; sympathy cards; etc.
And of course there is the Honor Flight Cards that we send. It is so rewarding to hear back from the veterans that make the trip. Many write about their time in the service, thank us for remembering them, and are just very grateful. It is an honor to support them and also very humbling.
I cannot begin to explain how much Soldiers Angels has meant to me and how grateful I am for this organization which allows us to honor all these American Heroes.

For the past 2 years I have been on the Soldier's Angels Adopt-a-Family Team. I joined this team in particular because i love Christmas shopping for others. My sons both enlisted in the military in 2016. When they left home I began my search for something I could do to give back to military families. Just by luck, or was it fate, I came across Soldier's Angels on the internet. It has been the best charitable organization I could have ever found. I know there are plenty of good charitable organizations, but this one has so many different ways to give back. Like I said, I personally like doing the Christmas shopping for military families. But they have so many different teams to join, there is definitely something for everyone. I also liked the fact that it is based in my home state of Texas. They do so much for active military, veterans, deployed military, even for families of military. I'm just a small part of something that is so great. Our military deserves the best and I believe through this charity they definitely receive lots of support and comfort in knowing that they are loved and appreciated. Some military members have no family at all. And to them their brothers in arms are all they have, and this charity means so much to them all. As long as I able, I will participate every Christmas on the Adopt-a-Family Team. I am just grateful to be blessed to be able to give back to others.

I am a volunteer Soldiers' Angel who writes letter to our deployed troops.
There is something totally outstanding and inspirational when you write to a lonely soldier to just give them a taste of home. I have been a volunteer for a year. At first, I did not receive a response from the soldiers. But then, there was a return letter from a female soldier who thanked me for writing to her and then apologized because she could not get back to me sooner. Here was a soldier fighting in the trenches. She relished the communications so much that she sent me a thank you letter for thinking of her. This precious letter brought tears to my eyes for I would want her to be safe and not worry about me. This is just an example of the selfless acts of humanity that our soldiers give us every day that they serve. I feel so proud to be a part of this organization because I feel that I am in some small way making a positive impact on our soldiers.

Bunch of phonies! They help most where they are given the spotlight to impress big corporations and give little attention to those of us who really need the help. I have been a member since 2004, reaching out thru the adoption, letterwriting and ard response teams, as well as Ladies of Liberty for many years. ISoldiers' Angels encompasses the very life cycle of Military families from support to the expecting Mom of a deployed to the Living Ledgions families left behind of a Fallen soldier. It includes Army, Air Force, Maine, Navy National Guard and USCG. I have received thank yous from many a serviceman and Chaplain. "Your letter of support from a stranger, when we feel forgotten, brought a smile bigger then my face...", another wrote " Knowing we have the support back home, allows me to Hold my head up and puts a sping in my boots, it allows me to send my unit out one more day, knowing it is for people like you that we are here..."
Our sewing, baking, Military Child, newborns,Chaplain and Special Ops teams as well as the local "hands on", at VA facilities, both National and international, which includes some Veteran "Food Mobiles" of fresh produce and protein groceries, in major VA national cities, is doing awesome support. Women of Valour are caregivers who are silent caregivers for the wounded warrior. Recognition and support of their unrecognized role is the focus of yet another team.
Oft times you ship carepackages or cards and for extended periods never hear a response, yet you continue knowing the military are making untold personal sacrifices for our nation. "Raising morale" is a proactive step toward support of the Military familes and those who serve.

I have been an active member of several teams thru Soldiers' Angels, since 2004. I watched it grow from a simple marine request to his Mom to send extras for those who never received any mail to international volunyeers, making certain no person making personal sacrifices, so we can safely tuck our kids in feels forgotte.
I have received emails, hand written notes and even met a few that I supported over these years. Their remarks of feeling that without the letter, birthday wish or carepackage that let the maessage of support filter thru, morale and loneliness would have been unbearable.
So many unit or troop or shipmates asking to please send even a note to help booster the morale has been responded to. Some have written months after they returned home to contact me for the first time, saying that they were not "in a place" in spirit or morale, but that the card or letter made all the differance as it was the only contact beyond the camo world.
Soldiers Angels do this without expectation of a response for months on end, but when the occaional "chatty" card of recognition erases all the dry months of shipping blindly to a silent soldier, CG, Sailor, AF, National Guard, or Marin or for support during a birth without their deployed and miles from family or after the loss of a battle buddy or Veteran . Being able to reach the Veterans who returned home without the fan fare of having sacrificed many a family moment to secure our nations well being is an honor to belatedly welcome them home. ... Thru SA I volunteer at a VA facility and also have "filled in at gravesites so no one is left without the respect and honor they earned. Why have I set aside the time, effort and budget for this all these years? Why would I not? It is my proactive response to 9/11 and my father in law served at Pearl and many others as did my 25 yr veteran now retired husband. I would not do this if I didnt believe this the bridge to reach 1:1 the military and their family or veteran or a caregiver and military child in need.

Hello! I have been with Soldier's Angels for a few months now. I looked for a nonprofit organization that you could communicate with those men and woman in the Military. When i finally found this program I was just so excited. There had been an empty hole in my heart for awhile and once i joined Soldiers Angels that empty space was gone. It just like warmed my heart. I love each and every person i communicate with. I enjoy writing letters and sending cards. Soldiers Angels is a great way to tell all those in the Military how truly Thankful we are for all there services. Also how we will continue to support them in anyway we can.

Hi, I'm Linda I have been a client at S.l.E.W. Cancer WellnessCenter for nine and a half years. It has been a blessing for me to be around other women who understand and have walked in my footsteps. S.L.E.W. has provided me with wigs, bra's and prosthesis at no cost. But most of all support, friendship, and have made me whole again. I can pick up my head and walk proudly.

Soldier's Angels is an amazing organization. Helping to support our brave men and women through their deployment has been an honor. I am a part of a few teams: Cards Plus, Letter Writing, Living Legends, and Deployed Adoption. Each one of these teams I have seen the impact a simple action can bring. Our heroes don't ask for much; just to know that there are people out there how care about what they are sacrificing. While many of them are busy defending our country, it feels good to know that when you get a response, you know you are making a difference. I am not looking for recognition in what I do, I volunteer because I want to make a difference, show my support, and help these brave individuals stay strong and loved.
Thank you Soldier's Angels for allowing me to be a part of something bigger than myself!!!

I find the time spent sending mail to our soldiers both current and veteran and their families to be very rewarding. I'm medically unable to serve in our military, and this is a great alternative for me. My kids even like coloring pictures to send with my letters. It's a great way to teach them that our rights and freedom come from so many brave men and women who put their own lives on hold to serve our country. And those are just the groups I work with - there are many more. This a wonderful organization. I've supported them via donations for many years, but in 2016 decided to do more to give back. Soldiers Angels. The name says it all. A group of warm, funny, artistic individuals who enjoy giving back, bringing friendship and comfort to as many soldiers as possible. I joined this group about 7 months ago. I can honestly state I have never found so much simple joy in my heart, my mind as writing to soldiers I've never met, never heard of, but knowing they are far from home, family, friends, their own personal lives, for me, for America, is the most incredible and awe inspiring gift to all of us. I currently have 7 seven soldiers I write to all the time, and I know the letters hopefully bring a smile, a tiny piece of comfort and laughter to all of these soldiers. I have an e-pal I write to every week, I have a DAT I write every week and send care packages to, and I am thrilled to be working with a family out of Texas, whose husband/father is on his 3rd deployment for Adopt A Family for Christmas. With the exception of two more gifts I have quite happily completed my shopping - now for wrapping/shipping. I received my first letter back two weeks ago and was over the moon! This solder told me I am now 'my friend forever'. Wow. He most assuredly is one for me as well.

Soldiers Angels. Yes - we are indeed. Bringing light into a world we know nothing about and sharing our joy, compassion and families with. Love. That is what Soldiers Angels is all about. Love.

I've been searching for so long for a way to help our troops both overseas and back home, but worried about just sending my money to an organization and not knowing where my money would actually be going. I can do as much or as little as I want with my OWN money here. I have chosen to mail letters and care packages as I want to, so I know what it costs and exactly who is getting it because the soldiers or families of soldiers have to sign up and provide necessary info before being considered for the program. It's truly rewarding. I absolutely love my epals, and I just mailed out my first 2 overseas letters today!

On the surface, this is a great organization. You may support service member(s) in various ways (VA, adoption, adopt-a-family, etc). However, ethical and honest practices are severely lacking as is professionalism (gross misconduct at the top of the firm). Please google the CEO and Operation Homefront. Then discover how nepotism ensued when everyone from her clique came to Soldiers' Angels.

What Soldiers' Angels is great at claiming is that it "provides aid and comfort to deployed service members." That's not honest or fair. The truth is, you the adopter does; your time, your money, your trips to the post office. No one in San Antonio seems to move away from their desk constantly inputting numbers to make themselves look better. Using their team leaders (volunteers) to do the grunt work. They make you input numbers, but there is no way of verifying the "in-kind donations." Often times, volunteers lie to ensure they remain in good standing, consequently the numbers for the organization are off.

If you want to volunteer at the VA--volunteer directly thru the VA. You have to go thru their hoops anyway. Organizations like Soldiers' Angels want to claim hours, representatives, etc but the truth is you can do the same exact thing at the VA without having to fill out all of Soldiers' Angels paperwork, too. They claim they are in VAs, but fail to mention they had received a grant from Americorps (those "volunteers" were paid). The grant was not renewed this year meaning everyone at the VA is a volunteer. Might as well just volunteer thru the VA. Much like a donation---companies (and individuals) can give directly to the VA (clothes, food, household items, MONEY, etc) and their respective food pantries without adding the extra unnecessary layer of Soldiers' Angels. The VA will even issue you a tax donation letter! They are the ones that put together the stand down, not Soldiers' Angels. Plenty of companies donate directly to the VA and the VA volunteers then help to distribute directly to veterans.

There is no extra layer for the special forces team. All that is required is that you remain in good standing on your other team(s) for six months (aka you have sent your required packages, letters, etc). While there are some amazing people volunteering, there are also ones that no organization would welcome. Most especially ones supporting the special forces.

The leadership of Soldiers' Angels is unprofessional and incompetent. Lack of professional experience and lack of a basic good education from an accredited university is an obvious sign of lack of leadership. Earning an online degree from a for-profit "university" hardly qualifies anyone to be able to manage money or, more importantly, people. Any CEO of a non-profit, especially a military non-profit, making significantly more than any servicemember is a red flag (over $100k). Especially when so many of the donations they claim on their records are the money spent directly by Angels on their adopted troops. If you do the math, given so many more are on the payroll now, that means when they receive an actual check, someone needs to cover the outrageous salaries for what they do (people in the private sector do not make this much for this level of work and they have actual degrees).

Definitely not honest business practices. But, a quick search of the leadership will tell you all you need to know. If they don't know how to be ethical and honest, just imagine how well they treat their volunteers (you're just a number). You are their minion, not their peer. The leadership severely lacks social skills, business competence/practices, and preys upon people's hearts to want to support troops/vets. Give to them directly. Cut out the middle man.

Please make sure to see how ethical they are by posting biased reviews (the employees and team leaders of the organization giving it 5-stars with each one "liking" the others' reviews on their FB page).

Thank you for the help. I am gratful for the help with the food and the groceries were great and unexpected. I enjoyed the fresh fruit and the variety of food. The Angels are generous and well organized. My friend and I are both Veterans and the food is a necessary component of the month to eat. Otherwise, peanut butter sandwiches become the standard if the peanut butter and bread does not work out. Also bread was provided in the donated groceries and this is a necessary food item I needed at the right time. The volunteers were helpful, quick, and the food was generous. I am thankful for this organization. Thank you for your help and the food. I am grateful for the Angels and for finding this new mobile pantry. I am sincerely grateful.

The opportunity to interact on a one on one basis with our military is far more rewarding than just throwing money at an organization. And when I receive a reply from one of our military that I have written to, I makes my heart beat faster to know that I have given a little joy to someone who has given so much for all of us! ! I joined Soldiers' Angels in memory of my son who died in 2009 at the age of 12. He was a huge supporter of our troops despite not growing up in a military family. When looking for an organization to devote time to, there were many, SA stood out above all others because of their vast opportunities and sense of community. The system is easy to use and there is always someone willing to answer a question if something comes up. The closed Facebook groups are a great resource as well. I have been fortunate to receive many replies from service members and they show so much appreciation for all the volunteers.

Soldiers' Angels is an amazing organization, but a lot of organizations can say that. The one thing that has set them apart in my mind is their span of volunteer opportunities. They have options for every age from 5 years to 100, and there is a way for every group size to be involved to help veterans. This combined with options to volunteer for every skill level and pretty much anywhere in the country, allows for a unique volunteer experience. My opinion is that this should be the first place to go if you are looking to volunteer to help veterans. The answer is always yes, they need you.

My wife and I are "newbies" to Soldier's Angels, having begun a little bit before Christmas 2015. But we love the ministry!

1 Corinthians 12: 12, 14 says, "Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many." We can't be on the front line like our wonderful brothers and sisters in the military, but we can send support. We're just a different part of the body.

We've had some personal replies from some of the chaplains we've sent packages to. There's not much "reading between the lines" to get how grateful they are that someone, anyone, cares. WE are blessed by being a blessing to others.

We're proud to say, in a small way, we are part of Soldier's Angels!

I had been thinking about joining Soldiers' Angels for over a year. I saved the link in my email and went back to it from time to time. What made me finally do it was my college friend that was in the army, deployed a few times, and he was an instrumental part in the two organizations Carry the Fallen and Active Heroes. He and many others are working on reducing veteran suicides from 22 per day to ZERO. This has become a passion of mine and while my friend is no longer with us, he passed away from cancer last Fall, I told him that I would help carry on his mission. What a great way to help reduce veteran suicides by supporting soldiers while they are deployed. The experiences and living conditions are likely far from their normal life while stateside. Maybe, just maybe, reaching out to soldiers while they are deployed helps them transition once they return. I have made several friends from this organization and look forward to each and every letter/interaction I have with them. I encourage others to look into Soldiers' Angels, as there are so many ways you can get involved and, from experience, they truly make a difference in a soldier's life.

I was recently asked what I like best about being part of the Soldier's Angel's organization. I am part of the Chaplains' Team and the Women of Valor Team. What I like best is the fact that I get to send care packages and letters as a form of love and respect to total strangers that I will never meet. Our military men and women are out there taking care that me and my family are kept safe without expecting anything in return. We have a wonderful leader, Kaleena, who keeps us informed about the needs of all our troops, but also continually encourages us in our desire to help support our troops. I love making an active difference in the lives of US troops and feel like I belong somewhere. I wanted to give back and say thanks and never expected so much love to come back to me. I love the other angels, the teams are fun and so friendly and we rally together to support not only our troops but each other as well. I joined Soldiers' Angels in 2015 as part of the Letter Writing Team. I'm a British girl living in Germany since 2011. I'm away from my home, family and friends so I can relate to times of feeling lonely and I've done long distance relationships too. I have friends and family in both the UK and US military. As a supporter of the UK military charity "Help for Heroes" and the US "Wounded Warriors" this was something I could get directly involved with and actively from abroad rather than just donating money or fundraising and is very close to my heart. The UK doesn't have anything like this yet but I love writing to American troops and love what we do. It's personal, can make a huge difference whilst soldiers are deployed (not just once they are home or become Vets) and it is the most rewarding selfless thing I have ever done. It brings me so much joy to write to these amazing heroes telling them about me, my family and hobbies and thanking them for their service not before closing with some positive words of encouragement and something funny to make them laugh or smile. I feel like we are sending them love and hugs in a letter to comfort them and show that we care, that they matter and that someone is always thinking about them. We don't always hear back. When I do hear back though it is like Christmas (maybe even better!) and is the best feeling in the world! My team is so friendly and loving and you just feel the love, respect and patriotism we all have for our servicemen / women and countries and it just fills my heart with pride and a lot of love. I feel I found my 'home' here and I've definitely made new friends too! Am so proud to be a part of this organisation and in the future want to get more involved by joining some of the other teams of Soldiers' Angels. Semper Fi.

I have been involved with Soldiers' Angels since 2009. My son had just left for basic t raining in the Army and I heard an interview on the radio of this organization and what they do. I immediately looked them up on line and adopted my first soldier. I became a community coordinator. volunteered at Ice cream socials at the VA Hospital, marching in parades, and booths at community events to share the organization. I still keep in contact with some of the soldier's I've gotten to know through Soldiers' Angels. It has been very enlightening and fulfilling supporting our troops.

I have participated as a volunteer for two Soldier'so Angel's teams and have found the nonprofit to be well organized and efficient. Coordinators are responsive and helpful, and my efforts seemed to make a significant difference to the soldiers.

I love volunteering for Soldiers' Angels. The soldiers always find time to write such a gracious Thank You note and this alone is enough for me to keep writing/sending. This organization provides you with the necessary tools to brighten that soldier's day/week!

I cannot express how grateful I am that this organization exits. I have been writing to soldiers since the Vietnam era and most of the letters went to male soldiers. This organization caught my attention with the teams dedicated to the female soldiers. I belong to Ladies of Liberty, Letter Writing Team and Birthday wishes. Writing to these women make me very humble and proud of what they are sacrificing daily. Also many of the women I have corresponded with have stayed in touch until they are stateside.

Love love love what this organization does! I also love that you can jump in and serve at various levels. Right now I don't have a ton of money so I do letter writing team but I have done care packages in the past. These men and women serve our country and are so not cared for like they should be. Soldiers' Angels also has a great website which makes it all so simple to see your people you're serving and working with as well as your own team. Highly recommend jumping in!

I have been a member of soldiers angels for several months. This organization provides civilians with the opportunity to directly connect with deployed soldiers, wounded soldiers, military families, caregivers to the wounded. We are able to support our service men and women in so many ways - the least they deserve. I was surprised by the rapid and enthusiastic response I received from the volunteers who are group leaders. They help guide you through every step. I handle the cost for shipping and mailing, etc. - reporting to the organization. I wanted to reach out and support the members of our military and their families and am so happy I found Soldiers Angels.

I have less than a full year with Soldier Angels but have thoroughly enjoyed every day of my time with this organization. The opportunity to send letters, packages, cards and well wishes to our soldiers who are fighting to keep our country free is quite fulfilling. We can't all do our part IN the military but we can all do our part FOR the military!

I signed up in November of last year because I was looking for a place to send cards to our Veterans and Soldier's for Christmas. I think this is a wonderful program and I really enjoy sending cards and Care packages to those who have and are currently serving. I feel as though it's a small thank you on my part for what they do and have done for us and our Country. I'm happy that I can do a little something to bring a smile to someone's face even if it's just a birthday card and being a Soldier's Angeles Volunteer allows me to do that!

This organization is exceptional in all ways. The response I have received from military soldiers is awesome. I have been a member for 9 years and love writing letters and sending birthday cards. I used to be able to send blankets and boxes but because of financial problems had to quit that part. But still love sending letter and cards and jokes. If I can make one soldier smile and laugh, I will have accomplished something.

I have been with Soldiers Angels for seven years and have been in awe of all that they do for our deployed soldiers. Well, the veterans, too. The deployed families, too. I keep thinking of all that they do, and have to keep adding on. I have sent thousands of letters and birthday cards and an occasional package. If I can make one soldier happy, I have done something right.

This is such a great organization! I have been a member since 2009 and I have been treated with the utmost respect and friendliness! My group leaders are the best! It is such a blessing to send packages and cards and letters to those serving. Nothing compares to a letter back and knowing that you can give someone a bright moment.

I joined SA when I was 20 years old... almost 15 years ago. I have really enjoyed all the nice people I have spoken with and corresponded with. I am teaching my daughter, who is now 9, that there is so much joy in giving to a stranger and so much character it builds to have respect for our military family. This is a proud legacy I am instilling in my daughter and I hope she continues it. This is such a great organization. I really like knowing that a simple letter could possible brighten up the day for someone overseas that may need the little boost it provides. Thank you SA for all your hard work and dedication to our troops!

At present, I am only able to participate with writing letters to our men and women in the Armed Forces, but it makes me feel like I am giving something back for everything they are doing for us. I am really impressed with the level of participation and the different types of events and types of help this group gives on an ongoing basis.

I ran across this website quite by accident really. I was looking for charity work and when I came to soldiersangels.org I figured I could write some letters. I registered right before the holidays and was approved before everyone shutdown for Christmas. I've become a letter writing machine and I've adopts 2 soldiers on deployment. I love to shop for others and now I can. I even got my mom signed up on the site and she writes about 4 letters a day. We love what we do and we are so grateful for Soldiers' Angels for being there for our troops when most people are busy with their own crap in their own lives. I'm here got the long haul.

I like that SA has something for everything as a volunteer. Plus the main office is located in San Antonio - heart of AF country - Hoorah! For me, I am able to reconnect through letters. In my years since discharge talking to older vets particularly Vietnam & Korea, those letters mean a lot and last longer than email so I always include an article, joke or sports article that I think someone will like. If my guy doesn't then someone in the unit will.

I am so thrilled to be a part of SoldiersAngels. Our troops need us to donate items in care packages as they have very few normal, everyday things that we all take for granted. When they receive the care packages, they know that a perfect stranger cares about them, and is willing to spend time and money to assist them as they fight the enemy, breathe in dust, dirt and sand, and struggle to get through each day. We, who walk around freely, every day, who sleep safely in our beds at night, need to show our appreciation for all our brave troops, and to extend our best wishes and prayers to them.

I have been an active member Of Soldiers" Angels since shortly after 9/11. It is a way to show support in a non political way. Touching the lives of a stranger that may soon become the one who places their lives on the line for my family. I have received feeback from the Ladies Of Liberty oft a young woman, perhaps a mother who proudly serves but appreciates the "feminine side" of the military being gifted or the K-9 unit that request a new toy, treat, or grooming products so their handler can reward and gift their four legged officer, the birthday team also reaches out to those who may not hear their name on "mail Call" bc in this day of skype, phone call or email, that passes so briefly a hard copy of Birthday wishes is something that can be tangible in seeing that the deployed are not forgotten. Women of Valor are caregivers who since 9/11 are devoted to caring for their wounded are teamed up with an Angel to pamper and be given recognition of their 24/7 devotion. Veterans in the Facilities, who never were thanked from the Korean and the Vietnam era or just bc are highlighted. , Top Knots touches the Mom-to-be of the deployed who is perhaps feeling the separation at a time her spouse can not be there... Chaplians and Medic team specialize in giving added support to those teams as well as Special ops.
I have adopted 1-4 deployed at a time, since 2004 and have heard the response of "I have been in the field for 7 months away from wifi, cell and skype.. Your letters and packages have reached me and my unit enjoy the letters and packages as well...It is people thru your organization that make us be able to go out everyday knowing that we are not forgotten.". Others have written that they have a smile bigger then their face, days after knowing that people back home care." Our adoption team is a 1:1 commitment to "Angel" that soldier in one of all 6 branches across the globe that are deployed. Weekly letters and monthly packages are requested by the soldier or their family or fellow soldiers in their unit to bolster morale in the unit/troop. THis organization is time tested and proven to be one of the most effective organizations of support by volunteers of the Military as it touches the Military and Coast Gurad from birth to Veterans of Prior wars and the Living Legends who have families as Gold Stars that gave more then any family.

I have been a volunteer with Soldiers Angels for several years. It is a magnificent organization full of people with lots of love to give to those guys and girls who sacrifice so much for our country. I love being a Soldiers Angel because I know that every item goes directly to the service member. The greatest people you will ever meet are members of our military. They sacrifice everything ...their family, friends, jobs, hobbies and sadly, sometimes even their life for we the people.

This is my first year with Soldiers Angels and it has been such a blessing to be able to communicate with and send needed items to dedicated members of our military. They do so much for every citizen of the US and are so often overlooked. My experience has been that the soldiers are very humble and gracious. They are so appreciative of the items we send them. Little things that we take for granted everyday means a lot to them. I am so grateful for the opportunity that Soldiers Angels has entrusted me with to give a little back to our soldiers and let them know that we are here for them and support them.

My husband and I care for his elderly mother, so we can no longer get away to church -- or even go for a cup of coffee - together. So we hold our own church. And we give our tithe to several organizations that we stand behind. But we wanted to do something more active and involved - so we went hunting to see how we could support our wonderful men and women who serve this country through our various military units. We found Soldiers' Angels and signed up with the Chaplains' Support Team. My dad was a Chaplain in WWII serving the Army both through the war and later through the reserves for many years. This was a cause that was near and dear to me!

We are so impressed by how proactive, communicative and uplifting our team leader is -- and we were able to join the last minute, right after Thanksgiving, and still have a good impact on the whole Christmas rush to get things off to our deployed soldiers this year. What a wonderful experience this is turning out to be! Serving in this awesome organization is a pleasure and a privilege!

I searched every where for an organization that could link me with my military men and women. Other non profits were either too disorganized and I could not be certain my letters or packages would reach anyone. Or they had different goals than myself. Soldiers' Angels is the most organized and effective military support non profit. They have programs for every interest and are all expertly staffed. The site is user friendly and the staff are genuine and very welcoming. I just joined and have signed up 3 programs. All of my efforts are documented and I am certain that everything I have sent to all of the military branches will be recieved. It's the least I can do for our brave and Soldiers' Angels allows me to do this with confidence. I dont need to look anywhere else.

I have been supporting soldiers since 2002... I started supporting with Soldiers' Angels in 2005, after looking for an organization that was more organized and offered volunteers more ways to support. I started out just supporting 1 soldier at a time, but I am now volunteering on several different teams. I love that Soldiers' Angels helps more than the soldier,... we reach out to the families and caregivers also. There truly is a place for everyone to volunteer.
