Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Disaster Aid, Disaster Preparedness & Relief Services, Human Services, Military & Veterans Organizations, Travelers Aid, Veterans

Mission: Soldiers' Angels is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and their families. Founded by the mother of two American soldiers, we have hundreds of thousands of volunteers assisting veterans, wounded and deployed personnel and their families in a variety of unique and effective ways. Soldiers’ Angels responds quickly to requests for support and provides individualized, immediate assistance.  It is a “one-on-one, get it done quickly” organization.  Our volunteer Angels at home adopt individual deployed troops and stay in touch throughout their deployment. Wounded soldiers and their families are asked what they need, and Soldiers’ Angels responds in a hundred different ways:  voice-activated computers; financial assistance for loved ones to stay with their wounded family member; phone cards to call relatives who can’t visit as often as they wish, etc.  Both the organization and the program have grown, but, unfortunately, the needs of our deployed soldiers and their families are growing even faster. This is especially true for our young men and women who are wounded. The government is providing first-class medical care for our wounded soldiers, but it will never be able to provide all of what they deserve and so many services desperately needed by their families.  Soldiers’ Angels works closely with the Department of Defense, the nation’s major veterans groups and a variety of other military support organizations to make sure these brave young men and women who are being helped.

I've only been volunteering for a month, but am impressed by how organized Soldiers' Angels is on many levels...very easy to access requests for letters, birthday cards, words of enocouragement, etc. When I e-mail my group leader or team leader, I hear back in just a couple of hours. A pleasure to be a part of this fantastic organization!

Only one thing: YOU do need volunteers- but no one tells us(veterans) anything. My wife and I want to help with the food distribution. How do we start?

i have only been receiving food from this organization for two months, but it has been very helpful to me. You are given a specific time period to pick up the food and it is well organized and only takes 15-20 minutes to drive through the line to pick it up.

First of all the volunteers are very nice and courteous. This nonprofit organization is very needed so they can continue to help those vets in true need. Of course there is always room for improvement but as far as I'm concerned they are right where they need to be. Thanks Soldier's Angels.\uD83D\uDC4D

I have been volunteering with this organization for several years now, from writing letters to the Troops, to adopting deployed military members, to Christmas adoptions Stateside and all of it has been a labor of love. Soldiers' Angels brings good will and cheer to the Troops went they need it most. They also send out valuable supplies and contribute to many projects. I am so proud to support our US Military and really like being a part of Soldiers' Angels.

Greatly appreciate what Soldiers Angel and all the wonderful volunteers do for the veterans. We may like, that the caregiver would be able to go in stead of the Veteran, due to the veterans medical condition , which would prevent him from participating on occasion. Thank you

Soldiers angels has really helped my family out since May of last year. I have attended many of the mobile food pantries for veterans and every time they have exceeded my expectation. The volunteers are very thankful for the veterans service and they really show compassion and gratitude for what we have done. I truly recommend this organization to any military family. They also offer a lot of opportunities to volunteer. It is truly a great feeling to have volunteers with such kind hearts helping out military families every time they have a chance. THANK YOU Soldiers' Angels!!!

Just not sure when you sign up for a time it doesn't seem to matter. If some one put 1:00 but was here in line at 9:00. They'd still get to go through the line at the monthly food pantry

I like the mobile food program but it would be nice if we were given non expired items/spoiled produce. Also starting on time would be great.
