Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Disaster Aid, Disaster Preparedness & Relief Services, Human Services, Military & Veterans Organizations, Travelers Aid, Veterans

Mission: Soldiers' Angels is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and their families. Founded by the mother of two American soldiers, we have hundreds of thousands of volunteers assisting veterans, wounded and deployed personnel and their families in a variety of unique and effective ways. Soldiers’ Angels responds quickly to requests for support and provides individualized, immediate assistance.  It is a “one-on-one, get it done quickly” organization.  Our volunteer Angels at home adopt individual deployed troops and stay in touch throughout their deployment. Wounded soldiers and their families are asked what they need, and Soldiers’ Angels responds in a hundred different ways:  voice-activated computers; financial assistance for loved ones to stay with their wounded family member; phone cards to call relatives who can’t visit as often as they wish, etc.  Both the organization and the program have grown, but, unfortunately, the needs of our deployed soldiers and their families are growing even faster. This is especially true for our young men and women who are wounded. The government is providing first-class medical care for our wounded soldiers, but it will never be able to provide all of what they deserve and so many services desperately needed by their families.  Soldiers’ Angels works closely with the Department of Defense, the nation’s major veterans groups and a variety of other military support organizations to make sure these brave young men and women who are being helped.

Target demographics: the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, their families, and Veterans of all eras.

Geographic areas served: the United States and around the world

Programs: - Adopt a Soldier: Individualized support throughout deployment - Angel Bakers: Homemade treats for the deployed - Chaplain Support Team: Help chaplains support the troops - Ladies of Liberty: Extra TLC for deployed females - Letter Writing Team: Personal letters for the deployed - SA Germany: Supporting medevac'd wounded/ill and medical staff at Landstuhl - Valour-IT: Providing adaptive laptops for the severely wounded or injured - VA Hospital Support - Living Legends: Comforting the loved ones left behind when a warrior falls on the battlefield - Operation Top Knot: Handmade gifts & virtual baby showers - Adopt-A-Family: Holiday adoption program to support a family's holiday needs - Women of Valor: Support to female caregivers of Post 9-11 wounded, ill and injured service members. - Sewing Team: Handmade blankets, scarves and pillowcases - Cards Plus Team: Extra TLC for soldiers and families

I’ve volunteered with Soldiers Angels for almost a decade. The money you spend goes directly to the soldiers you are supporting because you choose how you support other than a validation fee which is nominal . It is truly a chartity that exists because of its volunteers and offers a direct way to care for our deployed armed forces while also providing assistance to veterans. I couldn’t be prouder to be able to serve those who serve with the assistance of this team.

Gives you many options for serving our beloved soldiers and their families. I personally am part of the letter writing team. I write 1 letter a week but that.s better than 0. Super special if/when I get a reply letter. It.s a blessing to be a blessing.

Writing has always been a passion for me. When I initiaally started with Soldiers' Angels, it was really just a hobby. I'm now a group leader, not only writing, but also supporting other writers on my team. It's so great that I can keep up my passon, cheer up soldiers, and keep the craft of hand written letters alive.

I first began with the deployed actions team. I fell in love with Soldiers Angels because they are actually a LEGIT group...who are 100% committed to helping the service members and their families.
With having service members in my family, and among my close friends, it has always been a passion to me to be able to help our deployed service members....since I know they do not receive the care they deserve. I love being able to be a part of a group that sheds such light and hope into the lives of the ones who are fighting to keep us safe, and free.
I have also had the privilege to be involved with the Baby Brigade teams. Sending love and fun and useful items to the young families which have Dad or Mom deployed.
That was some of the most fulfilling moments of my life. The fun of preparing the packages...and then receiving word how it helped the family.

Soldiers Angels is the most amazing organization I know of. They truly care....and it shows. The support the Group Leaders gives to us Angels is phenomenal....they are so informative...and truly become your friend.

I would suggest that anyone, who has a passion for our deployed service members, their families...and the veterans ....become involved in SA. You will not regret it.

My son Told me about Soldier's Angels after he was deployed and they were good to his unit while he was deployed. I adopted 2 soldiers and found it very rewarding. When I no longer had the time and money to do that they suggested the letter writing team , also rewarding. The letters I get from the soldiers are full of gratitude when we should be grateful for them. Questions are always answered promptly. I am so glad to belong to this group.

Joining Soldier's Angels has been one of the most rewarding thing I have done. My son as a formerly deployed soldier recommended Soldiers Angels to me when I wanted to do something for the troops. He said when deployed he was impressed by the care shown by Soldier's Angels. Good all around.

I am a volunteer with Soldiers Angels - Women of Valor. I can't believe everyone doesn't already know about this Great organization. I was a caregiver for my daughter for 25 years. I can so relate to these amazing Caregivers. I wish that I had had the support that Soldiers Angels tries to give to the Caregivers (Women of Valor) of our Wounded Warriors. I highly recommend Soldiers Angels as a Very Worthwhile organization to give your time and/or money to.

I love soldiers' angels. I'm a member of the Deployment Adoption Team. The communication on this team is wonderful and there's a huge community of people who put their hearts into this program. They keep me excited about why I joined and inspire me to out do my care packages every month! Hearing the excitement from your adoptee is the validation that this program and what you're doing is worth it! This team is a great fit for me because it allows me to volunteer my time when it's convenient for me. I've also been able to participate in a few volunteer events that helped veterans at the VA. I'm new to the Boston area and this has helped me get involved with my community. It's been an all around great experience! If you're on the fence about joining, just do it! You will love it!

Soldiers' Angels is an awesome non-profit organization that supports our soldiers in numerous fabulous ways. I belong to the Deployed Adoption Team where my family adopts a soldier during their deployment and sends weekly letters of support and care monthly care packages. I also write to soldiers through the Letter Writing Team and support female soldiers with care packages through the Ladies of Liberty.

Soldiers' Angels is a very rewarding way to support the brave men and women who keep our country and world safe while also sharing the spirit of caring with your family. I recommend it highly!!!!

One of the many teams that Soldiers’ Angels has is the Deployed Apoption Team where support is given to the men and women while deployed. They receive a letter a week and a package a month. Many times they become family as a result. I have a volunteer with Soldiers’ Angels since 2007 and it has been a very rewarding experience for me as well as a way to show my appreciation to the brave men and women who serve our country.

Soldiers' Angels has been the best way of supporting the troops and their families that I've found. There isn't much that is more It is rewarding than to make, send or donate things to let our troops and veterans know they are appreciated and not forgotten. With Solders' Angels I know my efforts are not being wasted and my packages are making a difference.

I enjoy volunteering for Soldier's Angels as they have such a large variety of projects all geared toward supporting American troops of all branches, military families, or veterans and families. The financial commitment to be a certified angel is only $1/month, and participation can be via the mail or in many cases in local projects such as baby showers for expectant families. I have "adopted" a deployed troop member to mail letters and care packages regularly, and also collected support items to mail to deployed chaplains. Currently, I am on the letter-writing and card support teams, with a minimum requirement of writing a single letter and card monthly to various people. So many wonderful ways to express love, brighten a day, and express appreciation to those who bear the brunt of the battle for freedom! When my husband was deployed as a Navy chaplain, one of the joyous opportunities he had was to disperse care packages from Soldiers Angles to remind individuals they were thought of and cared for at home and greatly support morale!

I love being a part of Soldiers’ Angels. I am on the Letter Writing Team and write about ten letters per month. Our LWT team has a closed Facebook page where we can ask questions and give/receive tips. Everyone is very kind and supportive.

This is a great way to support our troops. You can do something small (write an email or letter) or you can do more by sending care packages or baked goods, etc. Soldier's Angels is very organized which makes it easy to participate. My team leader responds to my emails within a few hours answering any questions I might have. I love what Soldier's Angels does and I love being able to contribute. This is a wonderful charity!

I started with Soldiers Angels almost 3 years ago. I had a friend that was in the military, now deceased, that was very active in reducing veteran suicide. I felt that one way for me to support that action was to write to currently deployed soldiers, through the letter writing team as well as other teams within Soldiers Angels. I now belong to three teams within the organization and will continue to join other teams as I’m able to. Soldiers Angels has given me the opportunity to support our service members!

On Veterans' Day this past year, I was looking for some way to support those that serve and came across Soldiers' Angels. I have since been part of the Ladies of Liberty Team and the Letter-Writing Team and mail something to 2 soldiers each month. Although I haven't posted to the Facebook page, I see how others do share on there pretty regularly and find it useful (and am glad) to see what others are doing. In the last few months, Soldiers' Angels has been emailing a monthly newsletter with updates and information, which I also find very useful and appreciate getting it. Although at times I wonder if packages are being received and feel badly I don't always have time to send a home-made treat, I am hopeful that what I am sending brings a little joy or a nice surprise to the soldiers who receive the packages.

My dad was in the military for over 28 years, so volunteering for Soldiers' Angels is perfect for me. Soldiers' Angels is very organized and I really like that.
I am on the team for adopting deployed soldiers. I send them letters and care packages each month, and I put my whole heart into preparing those care packages because they deserve our support and appreciation. I am also on the letter writing team and usually write more than one letter a month to someone deployed. In addition, I am on the Cards plus team so I send birthday, new baby, Honor Flight, etc. cards to those in the military, as well as our honored veterans. Around Christmas time I am on the team to adopt a military or veteran's family and help out by buying gifts for their children.
Volunteering for Soldiers' Angels is extremely rewarding! I feel as though I am accomplishing something very good on a daily basis. I hope to continue with Soldiers' Angels for a long time.

Soldiers' Angels is involved in so many aspects of helping our military - from new babies to veterans to the wounded to those deployed - they have their hands in all of it! Support is tracked so that they have a record of how much is done - it's pretty awesome! If you want to do great things for our military, this is a great non-profit to do it with!
