My husband and I have been given opportunities to enjoy a great variety of cultural and sports events we would not otherwise be able to attend due to cost and develop friendships with other military members and veterans due to the kindness of people and organizations who donate to Vet Tix. A great way to show appreciation for the sacrifices of our military families and encourage those who are often lonely and secluded.

I enjoy volunteering for Soldier's Angels as they have such a large variety of projects all geared toward supporting American troops of all branches, military families, or veterans and families. The financial commitment to be a certified angel is only $1/month, and participation can be via the mail or in many cases in local projects such as baby showers for expectant families. I have "adopted" a deployed troop member to mail letters and care packages regularly, and also collected support items to mail to deployed chaplains. Currently, I am on the letter-writing and card support teams, with a minimum requirement of writing a single letter and card monthly to various people. So many wonderful ways to express love, brighten a day, and express appreciation to those who bear the brunt of the battle for freedom! When my husband was deployed as a Navy chaplain, one of the joyous opportunities he had was to disperse care packages from Soldiers Angles to remind individuals they were thought of and cared for at home and greatly support morale!
