Minnies Food Pantry truly works to serve their clients. During the winter ice and snow storm they increased the hours at the pantry knowing that their clients needed them even more during this time. I have been impressed at how many of the clients who are served by the pantry give back by volunteering their time. There is a real attitude of servanthood displayed by the management of the pantry. It is truly an attitude of I am here to serve those who are in need.

After my experience at minnies i can honestly say i have never been to a place and felt so more at home.. From the beggining to the end it was absolute service, Kind, Friendly, Serving, Generosity level at the maximum. I am pleased to say any person in my shoes i would refuse to have them go anywhere else. I would offer minnies services to anyone in need before any other charity out there. I guess thats tough to say being they all help the ones in need, But regardless of what the situation may be people look for the up most service no matter what it is, and minnies is the place. Thank you to everyone on the minnies support team you guys have truly put a smile on my face..
Sincerely,

Working with Minnie's is an incredibly gratifying experience. People of all ages, religions, ethnicities, and social backgrounds put all potential differences aside and come together for one purpose: to feed the hungry.
Everyone is made to feel welcome, wanted, and special at Minnie's Food Pantry, from the board member to the volunteer to, most importantly, the client.

Minnie's puts forth an extra effort to make sure the public they serve feels special. Not only do they provide food to many families in the North Texas area, they also make every effort to present appealing food to make the families feel as cared for as possible. Everytime I go to Minnie's they are working full-speed to accomplish as much as possible and are there all hours of the day. They make it their life to serve and the operations of the food pantry are very successful. Many people are aware of the services as well as the opportunity to serve. It is an impressive new nonprofit.

My church helped raise money for this food bank, and we raised over 2,000 dollars. When we went to visit it, the founder told us all about how she got started and all of the trials that she faced. I feel that it takes a very powerful woman to be able to create such a thriving food pantry from almost nothing.

Minnie's Food Pantry in Plano, TX is a blessing to the low income community in Collin County. I and several of my Oracle co-workers volunteered there and plan to go back. The staff has their act together, everything is very organized, everything is clean, they treat everyone with respect and they have managed to make their non-profit still have heart. We have volunteered at other non-profits, and Minnie's is a favorite. We have helped with a food drive and a toy drive. No one works harder than this non-profit to make sure the families in need are taken care of. With smiling faces and hugs to go around, they give more than food to their customers. They give them dignity and a chance to survive in these difficult times with hope.

My involvement with Minnie's Food Pantry as a Board member has been extremely rewarding. Minnie's is filling an important need in our community as the problem of hunger in America has only intensified during the economic downturn. The staff of Minnie's is extremely caring and dedicated as they work to fulfill the organization's mission of feeding the hungry and we couldn't ask for a better spokesperson for the cause than Cheryl Jackson, director of Minnie's Food Pantry. There is so much to be said about Chery "Action" Jackson and Minnie's Food Pantry; I was a volunteer when Minnie's Food Pantry first begin and I was amazed to watch Cheryl pull food off of her own shelves to stock Minnie's Food pantry. We used the Sister of savings system and cut coupons and use the Buddy list to find the best deals and Cheryl would use her own money to Stock the shelves. Cheryl vision for the Food Pantry has always been to have the top of the Line Pantry and always making the clients that are being served feel wlecome and loved. Cheryl is always brainstorming of how she can make Minnie's Food Pantry a better place. I was amazed to see her heart towards complete stranger; she is always putting other people needs before hers; she has become a voice and a mouth piece for the hungry. Minnie's Food pantry is feeding more families then ever before and needs continue support & donations of those who wants to join the movement and help end Hunger. Volunteering and donating has beens so rewarding and fulfilling. I have cried many tears from interacting with the clients who would begin cry and constantly thank you for the helping them in there time of need & watching everyone come together to help those who are in need of assistance. At Minnie's Food Pantry you can find smiling faces, quality food, & hope for a better tomorrow. Cheryl allows people to come back twice a month without making anyone feel ashame or bad for taking advantage of this twice a month allowance. Cheryl understands that some people will come to the Pantry just for a temporary need and that some people need will be constant due to the lack of funds due to a fixed income. It touches my heart to know of a place I can send people in need and I know that they will be handled with care and love. I'm so grateful to have had an opportunity to be part of a organization that care for others. Cheryl continue unselfishly help those whose are in need and the more funding she has to work with the bigger her giving becomes.
Cheryl Jackson and Erica Simon has done an outstanding job in showing what it means to truly serve the community. They have orchestrated a well oiled machine in Minnie's Food Pantry. This pantry is the blueprint that Michelle Obama needs to use to help kids in low income areas receive food and they need to be saluted.
This pantry provided my family with fresh bread, salad, meat, milk, eggs, and all name quality branded foods. Need I say more. I am amazed at their ability to do so much. I love their style and how they treat people. They literally roll out the red carpet.
I read, I saw, and I had to give. I find it amazing that the people at this food pantry can make people feel so great and inspired. This food pantry gives more than food and the place is magical. You must see it to believe it.
Well let me take you back and how I met Mrs. Jackson at a nail salon . I happen to be taken a break and started talking to this wonderful person , I felt something special that day and from that point we have been good friend s ,and I have always wanted to help people from going hungry. I love to cook so since then we have been able to help host the annual fun raiser at ruthschris , I also have had fun sering during 4th of july w/ the Mayor of plano and Minni herself . It can't tell you how good I felt when I was giving boxes of food to people who need it . I think I work hard but nothing compares to what Action Jackson does for the community of plano and state of texas . I hope everyone will keep helping out the food pantry and whatever way , you will see also diiference in your life also .

Last year I was asked to help in any way possible to help secure refriugeration for Minnie's Food Pantry in Plano. As a Plano Resident, and a small business owner (who specializes in Commercial Food Service Equipment), I was overwhelmed at the good works being done right in my own zip code. It didn't take long for me to see what a difference two persons, Cheryl Jackson and Erica Simon, can do. Donating new refrigerators which would maintain the safety of the food prior to distribution was insignificant con=mpared to the day-in/day-out efforts of not only the staff, but more importantly, THE VOLUNTEERS. No persons are ever turned away...and not only are food and necessities given, but at Christmas, Cheryl organized efforts to see to it that the families Minnie's served had toys for their children.
As a Board member it has been astounding to see what Cheryl has done with such limited resources. There have been numerous months that she and Erica were not even compensated...and by compensation I mean a paltry amount. I know many organizations are deserving of recognition, but anyone who spends any time at the Food Pantry would realize instantly that Minnie's is built on TIME. TALENT and TREASURE. What a blessing Minnie's Food Pantry is to the community...and how fortunate I am to be associated with such a wonderful organization.

I am so honored to be on the board of Minnie's Food Pantry. The efforts of the Director and her one staff member along with volunteers is truly inspiring.
Individuals and families who have no where else to turn for food come to Minnie's. Over 24,000 people have been blessed with food and contact with a truly loving and caring team there to serve them.
The board is professionally run by an experienced person and is comprised of leaders in many varied fields. I have served on many boards in the past but none so dedicated to the goal of helping to meet the needs of the Hungry in Plano, and surrounding areas.

It can be very hard to run a charitable operation that doesn't just get the bare minimum done, but somehow Cheryl and her crew always do 210%. Themed food handouts, always a smile and hugs, toy drives at Christmas, even a SuperBowl box of goodies! It's the most uplifting place to be, not just because of its mission, but because of the people that carry it out every day. I am so proud to be a part of Minnie's volunteer family, and proud that my family has made it their organization of choice to give all of our efforts to on some level. Minnie's teaches you very quickly that there is no one way and not just one right way to put good energy out in the world. There is always something you can give, even if it's a smile, some intergrity, and a bit of pride.

When was the last time you can honestly say YOU changed someone's life? In the case of Minnie's Food Pantry - this is no cliche - flat out, lives are changed everyday. This is the mission, a passion, a life-purpose for Cheryl "Action" Jackson and everyone involved in the organization.
Minnie's Food Pantry is so much more than a food pantry - Minnie's is a MOVEMENT. Families struggling with basic human needs and desperate to feed their children and themselves may COME to Minnie's for food - but they walk away FULL of so much more than food. Clients are treated with dignity and get Red Carpet Treatment. The love, energy and support is overwhelming. Minnie's impact extends beyond serving food to the hungry and homeless - it changes everyone involved.
We wanted to teach our three little boys the value of volunteering and service, so we volunteered at Thanksgiving and - and the course of our family has been changed. Can you imagine what many kids consider a chore - volunteering - our little boys ASK over and over, 'When can we go to Minnie's again??' 'When can we help again?" "When will we be able to make more boxes?' A continuing chorus of "Can I stack the beans this time, I want to help with pulling food, I want to work the line or separate items.' Minnie's Food Pantry is now part of the fabric of our family, we will continue serving and offering ourselves. We see it firsthand - what a difference this makes to so many. The question isn't why would you help - it truly is, why WOULDN'T you help? I challenge you to give your donations, your time, your hands and further this cause.
Cheryl "Action" Jackson, Momma Minnie, and their entire family represent Minnie's Food Pantry. Cheryl, Erica and all the staff are top-notch! The volunteers are warm, loving and supportive! Once you go through the doors of Minnie's - whether seeking food or comfort - or if you are offering your time or money - you may be giving - but what you get is so much more!!
I volunteered at Minnie's Food Pantry Souper Bowl of Caring Celebration. Minnie's Food pantry served their clients special Super Bowl foods like steaks for the grill, chips, drinks, snack foods, salads and even a little dessert! Everything needed to host a great Super Bowl party. Dallas Cowboy player, Marcus Spears help serve food to the clients.

My initial contact with Minnie's Food Pantry was that of a client. I was out of work and needed assistance and decided to visit the pantry. Please understand that the feelings of social inadequacies were very prevalent and the thought of having to ask for help was devastating! All that changed when I got to meet the staff of the pantry! Everyone displayed a level of compassion that was UNBELIEVABLE! I not only received top level food items, but I got to experience how truly COMMITTED people carrying out a NOBLE cause can truly transform their environment...and I wanted to be a part of this movement! I joined the movement as a volunteer, and have been so rewarded, I have decided I will be a volunteer for life at Minnie's Food Pantry! Great things are going on at Minnie's Food Pantry...so if you need assistance, not only for food, but inspiration as well,,,you need to visit the organization to feel the love displayed once you enter the doors...I did, and would love for everyone to feel what I felt the first time and still do when I am at Minnie's Food Pantry!
Minnie's food pantry is by far the BEST place for my family and I to do service. Cheryl and her team are amazing. This is one place that I have seen someone freely give what they have without any questions. Having to go somewhere for food is uncomfortable to begin with but everyone is treated like family, the volunteers and people in the food line...

Minnie's Food Pantry has been severing the North Texas community for several years. Founded by Cheryl Jackson, Minnie's continues to be a beacon of light in the community. MInnie's food pantry really is an extraordinary place and I have witnessed the generous giving of basic needs to people but even more exceptional - I have seen the feeding of the hearts of all who enter. Everyone, whether it is a client or a volunteer is greeted with such care and joy. Everyone is made to feel so valuable and affirmed. You can watch the transformation - the smile and relief that folks have as they leave and the sense that they are not alone - Minnie's is there - existing to help them thru their time of need. As I go thru my everyday life, I hear Cheryl saying "presentation is everything" and her favorite scripture "Go and Do" and I am transformed to do more and be more for others. Cheryl and Erica are a powerful team and they wisely draw from other community leaders to make Minnie's stronger. It is inspiring to watch them recognize a need and then go after the resources to fill that need - always lifting everyone up as they make it happen.
Review from Guidestar
Walking into the pantry is shocking to say the least. You see the name brands and the quality of all the foods that are offered. The pleasant atmosphere, along with the friendliness of the volunteers makes it a wonderful experience. The people are made to feel welcome and they are treated as if they were shopping at a grocery store. There is no discrimination and the only thing that is taken under consideration is the size of the family. They try to give more to the larger families and those with children get extra treats. I think it wold be awesome if permanent people could be hired, but make no mistake, the volunteers are highly dependable. The founder definitely strives to take the pantry to the highest level of perfection possible. Minnie's Food Pantry can be described with one word;Awesome!

Minnie's Food Pantry and its basic tenets to "serve/feed the hungry" is the epitome of Servant Leadership. I am proud to serve on the Board of this enterprise. The CEO and her team are a driven and hardworking group whose dedication and commitement is incredible. My colleagues at the Board level are a creative, giving, fun loving and dedicated set of volunteers and I really enjoy serving with them. This is one of the best non-profit initiatives that I have been involved with as a Director. I am humbled by this undertaking and pleased to serve and is some small way to help people in our community meet some of their basic needs. I have seen first hand, during the Thanksgiving Dinner session last year when Minnie's fed hundreds of families, the positive impact the Pantry has on some of the less fortunate people in our neighborhood. The entire program was very well organized, every volunteer was engaged and execution was flawless.
In my opinion Minnie's charter is the new "Manifest Destiny" in terms of the message and mission of extinguishing hunger across this country and ultimately the entire world!

I love this place. Not only does Cheryl Action Jackson lead the challenge in reducing hungry but her sons have motivated me to do more. I want to help because they have a heart of Gold.

There is no explanation for those who naturally assist others in the community, but when you come to an organization that has a heart for the world, something must be stated. After working with Minnie's Food Pantry during the beginning and current stages the growth I thought would happen with others needing assistance became the very growth in me in feeling the need to provide it. Minnie's Food Pantry says the doors are open Tue-Sat. 9a-11p, but honestly, from the inside out, Minnie's is open 25/8 just because not even 24/7 can compete with the heart, energy, and Spiriti of Giving and of Love that is poured forth from this wonderful "food pantry", I call a "satisfying purpose".

Cheryl is full of energy and has a great story, I plan to come to volunteer soon. Her organization is honest and wonderful. I think it's in a great spot, just because people live in Plano doesn't mean they always have food to feed their families. Many people need help.

Cheryl & Minnies Food Pantry are both amazing and doing amazing things. I am so honored to know her and help serve with her feeding the metroplex. This organization is just as good as it gets and look for her to feed many many more people. Helping people regain ground while caring about them is what its all about !!

I have to say Minnie's Food Pantry is God sent!! The owner, Cheryl Jackson, is the most loving individual I have met. Her giving spirit and loving heart is one that endures in times like these. I have taken to her and will do anything possible to assist her in every way possible. God bless you Cheryl and I always wish you the best in everything you do.

Cheryl "Action" Jackson has motivated me to do something I have never done before. Help feed the homeless and hungry. I had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl the weekend before Thanksgiving. She told me of her effort to provide a full Thanksgiving meal for hundreds and hundreds of families who otherwise would go without. And as she does so well, at the end of her story - she looked me in the eyes and said What are YOU doing to help? The experience of donating and then volunteering to help feed those hundreds of families provided MY family with perhaps the best Thanksgiving ever. Two weeks later "Action" Jackson had me stocking shelves at Minnie's Food Pantry. Today we look for other ways to continue to help this incredible effort. It is our belief that Minnie's Food Pantry offers a unique method of feeding the hungry. They do it with grace and dignity. It is one of the coolest things that Cheryl has developed - the ability for the hungry to come into Minnie's and go "grocery shopping" for their food. You can't imagine how different that is from just a handout. What Cheryl has created in Minnie's is the seed of an idea that needs to be planted and replanted across Texas and throughout America. This is an organization that can be trusted, is dependable and cares about the people they serve. And they desperately need your donation and help. Please do whatever you can to help Minnie's Food Pantry grow and help Cheryl "Action" Jackson take this concept across the country to wipe out hunger. I'm proud my family knows Cheryl and is associated with Minnie's Food Pantry.
All I can say is Cheryl and every volunteer at Minnie's Food Pantry are non-stop in working to help others in need. The tireless hours organizing the pantry, giving events, and serving others is almost unfathomable until you realize the joy that comes from serving others and making their lives brighter, not only in a time of need, but in general. You don't often see people with such drive and a willingness of self sacrifice and they constantly exude those qualities and more. I couldn't agree more with another review that said "People come to Minnie's and are greeted with compassion, warmth and dignity!"

I have Volunteered for Minnies Food Pantry and the experiences have been second to none. Never have I seen someone dedicated to helping and serving people with a smile before. Mrs. Cheryl Jackson is the most caring funny passionate person I have met and her spirit is contagious. The most impressive thing I noticed was how the Non profit is volunteer based. hundreds of boxes and if no one shows to volunteer Mrs.Jackson does the work her self, pulling and pushing, sorting and labeling large boxes.Never have I seen a non profit organization conduct themselves like a highly profitable business. Needless to say I volunteer now every chance I get!!!

Minnie's food pantry demonstrates that the hungry can live anywhere! Plano Texas is not often thought of as a community with those in need.
These challenging economic times prove otherwise. People come to Minnie's and are greeted with compassion, warmth and dignity!
Cheryl Jackson's passion infuses this place with kindness and warmth!

I met Cheryl Jackson on 1-3-11 after hearing her speak at the Zig Ziglar corporation. I was most impressed. Then I drove to Plano so I could actually witness what she has described in her presentation. I was MOST impressed with the organization, the staff, the cheerfullness of GIVING. I left with a smile on my face. Then I saw Cheryl's "Microphone Moment" where Cheryl was shamelessly begging for food money. Well, I am not a weathy women...actually I am a retired Texas school teacher living on a small pension. I wrote Cheryl a $200 check and mailed it to her. I am here today to say that my life has been enriched since meeting Cheryl Jackson and since giving my hard earned pension moneyh to Cheryl. I sincerely hope that you will bestow your $5,000 to this very worthwhile non-profit organization! Feel free to contact me for any further

It is such an honor for me to be associated with this incredible organization. The mission is outstanding and so basic to the needs of people in our community, the volunteers and donor base are amazing and the men and women with whom I serve on the board are each outstanding witnesses of generosity and bring a varity of backgrounds to serve the needs of the Pantry. The Executive Director is simply the best at creating awareness and providing this much needed service.

This is one of the best ran nonprofit organizations that I know. I have known Cheryl since high school and always knew she was put on this earth to do great things. I have never seen anyone with as much dedication and determination, as I see in her. She is truly an angel and the world would be a much greater place if we had more people like her.
Minnie's Food Pantry is definitely, doing the most good. Not only do they give food for thought, food for the stomach. The Bible says the greatest among you, shall be servant. They serve with the spirit of EXCELLENCE, service with a smile. There is an old adage that states, people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you CARE. Not only do they share food, but also a kind word, a hug in due season and are always trying to figure out how they can feed more people...WOW, I salute Minnie's Food Pantry for A Job Well Done!

I had the blessing of meeting Cheryl while out running errands one day prior to christmas. She shared her personal story, mission and sacrifice to get Minnie's going. I decided to stop by Minnie's right before Christmas to wish her a happy holiday. There were so many volunteers working to pack 400+ boxes for the following day, all laughing, smiling and having a fun. I had to join in. I ran home changed and spent the better part of the afternoon helping out. The blessings of that experience made my holiday season. I had never experience such caring, loving and friendly people. I was a stranger made to feel like a friend. I was hugged by Cheryl's son R.J., who in his 20's was already serving the community. That is what Minnie's does for the people in need, provide more than just food. But a smile, a warm face and hope for a better future. Cheryl and her staff have blessed the city of Plano by being here. Thank you Cheryl and my friends at Minnie's for blessing my life and the people in need here in Plano. You are the true example of Servant Leadeship.

Hungry people in Plano, Texas? Really? Isn't Collin County one of the richest counties in the state and the NATION??
Cheryl Jackson doesn't let these statistics deter her from mission, for she knows there are hungry people in Plano Texas. And she works tirelessly to feed them all and give them hope for a brighter future.
Not only does she change the lives of those in need, she also changes the lives of those who volunteer there along side her.
She is a mover and a shaker...and a blessing to all who know her.

Impressively large and clean facility fully stocked with name brand food items. Provides clients a choice within food groups. Allows clients to visit 2x/month, which is unusual. Leaders of the organization are full of passion, energy and a heart for others!

The food that is distributed well let me give you an example-- I had the pleasure of giving people steaks, salads, drinks, chips dip and everything for a gourmet meal. I watched people cry and hug others out of gratitude.
