Decided to go to Emilys place to finish my healing journey. However, I ended up with more stress and trauma.

I'll start by saying for a Domestic Violence shelter, I found it odd that staff not allows residents to use corporal punishment but encourages it.

I also couldn't figure out of all the classes they offered why there was nothing on Domestic Violence. Then it dawned on me, much of the behavior and nature of the program falls into the wheel of abuse.

1 . Staff will tell you if you have permission to work somewhere and including the hours. Finishing up college is outright denied.

2. They want you to have a savings plan, great. However you must get approved to literally buy anything and this includes food, as they serve meals but do not consider dietary restrictions [ like type 2 diabetes] I was asked by primary care doctor to join a gym, denied waste of money. Once you get your savings to a goal, guess what they pick what you are doing. Mine was spending over 20k on a car , before even having a license. And signing up for insurance and putting the manager on it for almost 400 a month. Which would mean if I was existed ( like 80% of the residents) I'd have no insurance or license and not be able to take my car. And if I complete this I'd have 0 savings and paying far toʻo much for insurance

3. You must get permission to leave the property. And they usually give you a time limit. Even though there's a curfew good luck getting permission to go to see family or friends on your free time. Can't impromptu go to the park on a nice day because if you didn't add something to and get permission they can kick you out.

4. Staff is aggressive and raises thier voice at residents. Nit picks you, shames you and shares personal information to other residents. Don't worry though staff does the same to each other.

5. The homes often are not fully occupied. Not just due to the extreme high turn over, they literally just leave the house empty, with the overwhelming amount of people looking for shelter and shelter that are full this should never be an issue.

6. Staff rifles through clothing donations and discusses pretty obviously that they got them. However, for some reason residents barely get to look

7 Dinner attendance is 5 nights a week and is mandatory wether you signed up to cook or not. This means you have to be home from work, or grocery shopping etc just to sit at the table. They have programming scheduled directly after also mandatory for 4 nights of the week. So you have little free time, and what time you do have you can't actually do anything without permission.

You basically sign up to live in a halfway home to live here, and staff seems to have no Domestic Violence training or empathy. Clients have complained about aggressive behavior and yelling done by staff and. Staff simply states your triggers aren't our responsibility.

North Texas Performing Arts is an amazing place for children and adults. My children have been performing there for six years now. Most businesses start feeling cold and that you are not worth their time once they grow some. However that is NOT the case with NTPA, all of the employees are so welcoming and caring to everyone that comes through the doors. It does not matter if it is your first time walking through the door, your first class, first major production or you have been there for years you are welcomed with open arms. They encourage all to be themselves, to love themselves and never be scared be the best at what you love no matter what anyone else thinks. My 16 year old started at NTPA and would barely speak to people, she was so shy and reserved, in just six years she has now been in several of huge choirs, she is very outgoing loves to talk and sing for everyone! My 9 year old daughter has extreme anxiety and was recently diagnosed with dyslexia. She has a had a very hard year. However she knows when she gets there she gets to forget all of her worries and just have fun and enjoy being herself. She feels like she with her second family and love her for all of her wonderful qualities and never look down on her. My 6 year old just started doing shows and loves it so much she is already on her sixth show and can't wait to start the next one! I could never say enough about how amazing the theater, the staff and patriots of the theater are. Not only have they done the most amazing things for my kids, but I have meet some of my best friends there!!!! Thank you NTPA for your amazing hard work.

North Texas State Soccer

The serious issues in Garland Soccer / North Texas are still not being addressed:
Garland’s children were harmed by sexual predator Bernardo Mondragon-Guzman. Garland Soccer made numerous promises in the media.“We’re going to do everything we can to protect our children. And if we need to change things, we’ll do, we’ll change things,” The president blocked every attempt I made to institute proper policies and procedures to keep Garland’s children safe. Garland Soccer has done nothing in response to children being raped.

A director married to a registered for life, level 2 sex offender with a child victim was letting him handle rosters and other records. This director did not drive and this offender accompanied her everywhere. The president insisted on keeping her on the board knowing the sex offender would be around at every soccer activity possibly putting our children in danger. This clearly violated Garland’s Loitering ordinance.

This same director and her husband were bragging that they would be meeting the association president to discuss construction work for GSA when no open bidding was in progress.

$8,000.00 of “missing funds” has no proper documentation as the board is routinely denied documentation by the president. The Garland Soccer Association president lied to the GSA member coaches about those “missing funds” claiming there was ongoing litigation between the software provider, Jevin and the payment processor, Corduro. 2 years later no litigation is on record anywhere.

A former Coach and director were brought up on phony charges by the president when the player pool placed a child of the correct age with their coaching parent. Former coaches and directors have no contact with or control over the player pool. Why would children be placed on teams competing against their own parents' teams?

The president runs this organization like a dictatorship and flouts the GSA, North Texas State and US Youth Soccer by-laws. State law concerning fiduciary duties is not being followed.

Elections in Garland Soccer have been rigged for years.

The president filed a No Confidence Petition in an attempt to remove a director who spoke on behalf of a candidate running against him. Members are afraid to vote their conscience.

The number of players and coaches are plummeting as folks leave unhappy with their experience in Garland Soccer. North Texas is open territory and players can register wherever they now wish.

Garland Soccer has lost almost all of its interleague play with neighboring associations. Richardson, Lake Highlands and Wylie have left Garland Soccer. Plano Soccer will not invite GSA to join them all. The only association sending teams over is Rowlett with their major league girls. The few other teams from other associations playing with Garland missed the cutoff to register in Plano or where their home association is playing. By spring 2016 there may be no outside associations willing to play with Garland thanks to the leadership being unwilling to resolve the many problems in GSA. Plano coaches for one example get final rosters 3 weeks before the season starts and don't have to worry about short rosters or players being added after they have purchased uniforms.

The coaches are shut down at meetings by the president and their voices are not heard. The Garland Soccer Association is operated in a shroud of secrecy by the president even though it is in fact a 501 c 3 charity and should be completely transparent. Members of the association and the public have not been welcomed to the board meetings. Board meeting agendas, board meeting minutes and board member reports are kept secret.

GSA has no Ethics Committee as North Texas State requires as the president refuses to form one. GSA has no A & D Committee as required by the by-laws as the president refuses to allow one to be formed. The A & D process is completely broken and as protocol and procedures are totally flouted all of the hearings are illegal.

The president refused to issue A & D decision letters in direct violation of North Texas rules which places Garland Soccer NOT in Good Standing.

The Garland Soccer website is not in Spanish though there have been numerous requests over the years for that to happen as much of GSA’s player base is simply not being served.

Garland Soccer puts kids in soccer that are in danger themselves and a danger to others as there is no TOPSoccer program in place for kids that would benefit from it.

When will the problems in Garland Soccer be addressed? North Texas Soccer is open territory and players may register wherever they wish. Neighboring associations have indicated they will take teams intact with your GSA roster.

North Texas has had numerous grievances and complaints about these issues. The North Texas State Soccer Association has not followed its by-laws and "provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of grievances" for several years now. NTSSA is corrupt and totally mismanaged!
