Review for Minnie’s Food Pantry, Plano, TX, USA
Minnie's Food Pantry in Plano, TX is a blessing to the low income community in Collin County. I and several of my Oracle co-workers volunteered there and plan to go back. The staff has their act together, everything is very organized, everything is clean, they treat everyone with respect and they have managed to make their non-profit still have heart. We have volunteered at other non-profits, and Minnie's is a favorite. We have helped with a food drive and a toy drive. No one works harder than this non-profit to make sure the families in need are taken care of. With smiling faces and hugs to go around, they give more than food to their customers. They give them dignity and a chance to survive in these difficult times with hope.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
- seeing people who received food cry with relief and appreciation that their children would get to eat healthy food. - seeing the huge line that wrapped around the building with families hoping to get a toy for their child that they couldn't buy. - seeing the big smiles of the children when they received a toy.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
- suggest they open on Saturday. Maybe at a reduced schedule. If the family is just getting back on their feet and is working, they can't get there except for the weekend. Also, more volunteers who work Mon-Fri would be able to help, and involve their teenagers.
