Dr. Pamela Brewer has such a "Naturalness" about herself...your comfort level conversing with her just flows. One can tell how thorough Dr. Brewer is with the questions she asks her guests! When I'm listening to MyNDTALK, I'm thinking to myself..."oh please ask them this or that" and she hasn't failed me yet! LOL Dr. Brewer, you are indeed a "POWERHOUSE!" Thank you for all that you bring to the community!
MyNDTALK with Dr. Pamela Brewer is an extremely important community resource and outlet for people to learn about mental health and wellness issues. With all of the information that is constantly thrown at us, MyNDTALK stands out as a promoter of healthy living and understanding across different experiences. The guests are interesting and informative. Also, the program is a great first resource for people who are hesitant to seek professional help or don't find the support they need to discuss mental health issues among their own circle. Love this program!
Dr. Brewer is a national treasure. She is not only brilliant, her insight gets to the heart of whatever topic is under discussion. These gifts, combined with her extraordinary interviewing skills reveal new awarenesses to her listeners with every show. My sense of what drives her is a mission to make it safe to hold conversations while holding on to respect for the essential humanity in all of us.
She understands that it is the human mind that shapes our experience and behavior and that only our sense of interconnectedness will make our lives rich and safe.
Dr. Brewer has labored tirelessly since the early 90’s to bring sanity and grace to the world. She is a gifted and insightful interviewer who has an uncanny knack for eliciting from those she interviews the core of what they offer.
It would seem like a tautology to offer that the human brain creates our social universe, yet this truth is so easily forgotten. Dr. Brewer reminds us (every time she takes to the microphone) that it is HOW we think that creates our social milieu. This is her great gift: to provoke deep and useful thought and discourse.
She deserves to be lauded for excellence in her field.
Dr. Brewer is a first rate interviewer! As a guest on her show in 2016, Dr. Brewer created a comfortable space for conversation, asking meaningful questions and follow ups. She offers enough structure to keep guests on topic while staying out of the way which maximizes the value and quality of conversation for her listening audience. Her willingness to engage in a broad range of sometimes difficult and controversial topics is a real benefit to the field of mental health and to her listeners.
Dr. Pamela Brewer was part of a panel discussion after a screening of a documentary about street harassment and rape culture within African-American communities. The event was held in D.C.’s Ward 8, where many of the highly contentious events featured in the documentary took place. Feelings were raw among the audience after the screening. The issues that came up in the documentary, triggered memories and emotions that needed to be navigated carefully. Having Dr. Brewer on the panel made all the difference. Her comments were right on point and her guidance during the discussion was invaluable. An event that could easily have been reduced to shouting matches and negativity, instead ended with women feeling empowered and men vowing to do better to make their communities safer for everyone. It’s clear that Dr. Brewer is as committed as ever to the District of Columbia’s African American Community. She is a treasure within the DC Metropolitan Region.

My colleague, Cathy Roberts, and I had the honor of being interviewed by Pamela Brewer early on in our effort to raise awareness of racism and White Privilege. Pamela was engaging and ready to ask interesting and sometimes difficult questions. It was clear that she was very present during the interview, not working from a script but from an intention to get to the heart of our motivations for the work that we do. I felt invited to go inside myself and show up in a very important way.
We had a great conversation on Pamela's Show. She is thoughtful and insightful and interested in the well being and personal growth of her listeners. Pamela is authentic in every way: the real deal.
I've had multiple authors interviewed on MyNDTALK and each experience has been excellent. Pamela and Jim do their homework and the outcome is a quality, informative, interesting interview, for both the author and the listeners.
We've worked with Dr. Pamela Brewer on several interviews with our author clients. Each time they reported back to us immediately that the interview was a wonderful experience. And when we tune in to listen, we understand why: her interviews are thoughtful, personal,
and compassionate, and it's clear she prepares thoroughly for each one. Few radio hosts combine the knowledge, empathy, and radio chops that she does. We've become avid listeners in our office.
Several of my clients have been on the show and all have had very positive experiences, as Dr. Brewer is always well-informed and engaging. Given the segments are longer than usual, Dr. Brewer has the opportunity to really dive deep on topics and engage listeners. I just love this show!
When Dr. Pamela Brewer interviews you, you know she is present, connected, and deeply focused. Her questions get straight to the point and bring about issues you, as the interviewee, may not have considered. Her calm and beautiful voice bring the listener into the world she is exploring, engaging you in a conversation that you know could go on forever.
I was deeply honored to be interviewed by her and believe that the information she brought forth will inspire others to research my charity and perhaps begin their own branch wherever they are. Wonderful!
My client, Dr. Jeffrey B. Rubin, author of The Art of Flourishing: A Guide to Mindfulness, Self-Care, and Love in a Chaotic World, LOVED Dr. Pamela Brewer’s interview! He was so impressed with her preparedness, excellent questions, depth of understanding, and much more (he went on and on…) He could not say enough about her SUPERLATIVE interview! - Maria Sliwa, M. Sliwa Public Relations
It was my honour to be interviewed this past week by Dr. Pamela Brewer of MyNDTALK radio show.
"It was a great interview. The best one yet. I was a little curious about why she didn't ask for a list of questions but boy, she read the book! She is a really good interviewer, sharp mind. We had a good deep conversation and she pulled out the good stuff that really mattered in the book. I am very pleased."
Hope you can join us on Tuesday, July 11th and again on Friday, July 14th.
I've had the extreme pleasure of being a recent guest on Dr. Brewer's radio show for a segment she did on the joys and challenges of caregiving. She is warm, professional, insightful, and witty--a rare and welcome combination in a radio host! It was obvious she had reviewed my book beforehand, which I so appreciated. Her familiarity with the book and the subject allowed us to explore a number of important issues together. The experience was akin to having a meaningful conversation with a close friend--she puts guests that much at ease. She is a genuine gift to her listeners and clients and a credit to her field. There is no one I have seen or heard working in the media, any media, in the areas of mental health and human relationships as dedicated to the problems of everyday existence with the kind of broad scale depth as Dr. Pamela Brewer. I am impressed with the integrity of her personal commitment to be of service to the greatest community possible with the goal of helping all people to attain the best possible individual sense of well being, thus enabling them to go out into their lives and communities and be positive forces for change. In the 20 years of tuning in periodically, I have found a consistency in intention to offer as much pertinent and timely insight as possible, as well as helpful resources. Dr. Brewer is a skillful interviewer whose warm, relaxed style makes settling for a receptive listen easy. MyndTalk with Dr. Pamela Brewer is a great program with a phenomenally gifted teacher/professional/guide at the helm. It should be recommended listening by NAMI and every other mental health organization out there and required listening by every school of social work and/or communications. And definitely needs to be supported so it stays around!
Thank you so much, Dr. Pamela Brewer. You are a delight. You don't ask the standard questions. You are genuinely interested in the topic. And you make the interview feel as if we are sitting in comfy chairs sipping tea and having conversation. Thank you so very much for such a positive experience.
The programming provided is always forward-looking, strengthening and supportive. Well worth the time to listen in. You can sign-up to receive a heads-up email on the topics and guests she'll be hosting each week and make your plans to listen-in! Dr. Brewer is attune to the ways to lift people up and help them/us to problem-solve.
I was so blessed to come across this incredible show. Dr. Brewer seems to find guests who have topics that greatly interest and help me with my day to day situations. Things you'd never think anyone experienced before, other than you, then Wow, that's the topic for the day. Also Dr. Brewers questions are right on point! I love that some of the guest will also provide their books as downloads as well, so that you can delve into the topic in more depth if you want to. Now that I've found Myndtalk I would be lost without it. Thank you Dr. Brewer.
I believe Pamela Brewers work is extremely important in today's world. Now more than ever we need to engage in thought provoking conversations that provide food for thought from a variety of sources. Myndtalk with Dr. Brewer is an engaging and stimulating resource for those of us who are open minded enough to ask the deeper questions about ourselves and the world around us. As a two time guest on her show I must admit that I love her interview style and how she engages with the person she is interviewing.
