I had the honor of being interviewed by Dr. Pamela Brewer about my memoir, Timeless Dance: A Story of Change and Loss. My book reflects on my journey understanding the gender transition of my son at a time when transgender issues were rarely, if ever discussed, and then grappling with the untimely death of my beautiful new daughter. Part memoir, part biography of a remarkable young woman, and part primer on gender diversity, my story is highly personal, as well as it is enlightening for anyone who has not shared similar experiences. Dr. Brewer's communications with me prior to the interview and her questions during the interview demonstrated that not only had she read the book, but connected with it and with me with great empathy and understanding. In listening to many of her other shows, I am always struck by her skill in asking just the right questions and connecting with whomever she interviews. MyNDTalk is a very worthwhile and educational program, a service to all those who take the time to listen.
