I am the mother of two wonderful musician sons. MusicLink has made it possible for my children to follow their passion of music through MusicLink's financial support of activities/competitions and music camps. These experiences, made possible through MusicLink, have grown and stretched my sons on many levels, not just in music. I feel these experiences will have a positive lasting impact on my children for the rest of their lives.I can certainly say that thanks to MusicLink, my children have a richer, more fulfilling and supportive upbringing. As a mother, I will be forever grateful for MusicLink's dedication to supporting music in my and other children's lives. I believe this difference makes the world a better place. I have also been very impressed with MusicLink's direct communication with me. I feel like I have a personal connection with the people at MusicLink. Thank you MusicLink!
I have been a MusicLink Foundation teacher for several years and this organization has provided much needed help to worthy students. The companies who support this Foundation help so very much with the purchase of music books. I am honored to be a part of such a professional institution. Thank you.
I have proudly been a MusicLink Foundation teacher for the past several years and so appreciate the dedication and foresight of the founders of this organization. Through the Foundation, I have taught many students who would not have been able to take piano lessons. This organization provides support, materials, instruments and self esteem to the students who are in the program. Our hope is for the continued success and leadership for this fine Foundation!!!
I have been a MusicLink teacher since 2000. MusicLink has allowed my studio a national connection for deserving and talented dedicated students that greatly enhances what can be offered them.
It is so rewarding to see their joy and passion and how much they appreciate the benefits and support from the MusicLink Foundation and MusicLink business partners. As a result, these students not only excel in music events, performances and competitions, but also give of their time and talents by serving in their community.
I cannot thank the MusicLink Foundation program enough for the blessings given.
I am the teacher of a music link family of eight children, who has made the very most of their opportunities through music link. With the help of music link, they have been able to afford music theory exams, comprehensive piano exams, and they have made complete use of the piano contest offered by MMTA. Music link paid the registration fees for the family of eight different years for different events. The children in this family have won the contests and performed in the honors concert year after year because of being given the chance from Music Link to compete. They have also been reimbursed for getting their piano tuned.

I am a piano teacher in Waconia (MN) and faculty at Interlochen Arts Camp (MI) during the summer. Over the last eight years my MusicLink students received the reduced tuition benefit from me while also benefiting from the MusicLink broad support. The student’s cost for participation in National Guild Auditions, MMTA Piano Contest and exams, UMMF Auditions, etc, were all subsidized. They always received many free books and study materials available at the annual MMTA Convention’s MusicLink booth. But, besides the important financial aspect, perhaps the biggest impact for being a part of this foundation is the loud and clear the message students get- their music studies are important, valued and appreciated by many!
Thank you MusicLink for promoting music for all - the opportunities you give to these deserving students and families are priceless!

Through MusicLink Foundation my daughter has been able to study the piano with an incredibly gifted teacher. It has been such a gift to see my daughter express herself through music. Her teacher has empowered her to experience the study of piano and music as something that is beautiful and central to the human experience, rather than something that is rote and step by step. My family is so grateful to the MusicLink Foundation for supporting our daughter's musical education!
Musiclink has been a huge blessing for our lives. The organization has enabled us to do more than we could ever have imagined. Our lives have been greatly enriched. We try to share with anyone we meet that has an interest in music about what Musiclink has to offer. We can’t thank them enough.
I am a parent of two MusicLink students.
My family have been very grateful for all the opportunities that MusicLink program has given to us.
Through MusicLink, my son has been given free piano lessons from one of the great MusicLink teachers, Dr. Debra Sostrin since 2012. For the last three years, my younger daughter also has received piano lessons with reduced price from teacher Debra.
My older son also has received piano lessons with reduced price from another great MusicLink teacher, Dr. Marjorie Janova for the last four years.
I have to say that MusicLink is a true blessing to my family.
They are an amazing organization providing a needed service to the North Minneapolis community.
MusicLink has been so instrumental in helping our non profit Music group, Hopewell Music Cooperative with its goal of teaching ALL Students regardless of their income level. They have helped by donating music and method books to us, helping Students secure instruments if the Student did not have one and providing places to perform. One favorite place for my Students is the Mall of America. We so appreciate all help from MusicLink, especially our own representative, Sue Wege. She is a so very dedicated to the cause of music for all and it shows each time she connects with Hopewell and the Music Students. We love the MusicLink program and dedicated people. Thank you so much, Jaette Carpenter, co Founder of Hopewell Music Cooperative-North
The MusicLink has lived up to their name of Linking Music Teachers to low income Students and also providing instruments and music where needed desperately by families to enable a young Students to excel. I have several MusicLink Students who are entering their 12th year of school in local HS, who would never have had the opportunity to take music lessons from grade school all the way to final year of HS and excelling to College level. Their families simply did not have the funds to achieve this for their children. MusicLink assisted by providing music methods books and sheet music to help and by providing several pianos at our school for our Students, to help them achieve their goal of learning to excel at the piano, then singing and guitar. These two young women then helped volunteer for our music camp and Student Teaching of our younger Students. The helping hand to Hopewell from MusicLink has been invaluable. I have the utmost gratitude and appreciation for this long time organization MusicLink. They truly ARE one of the GREAT Nonprofits. Jaette Carpenter, Co Founder of Hopewell Music Cooperative-North (accompanying photo is performing at Walker Methodist Care Center with the two Girls and the other Students. They have grown so much inside and out as great musicians and empathetic young persons)
My favorite non-profit organization is MusicLink. Throughout my life music has helped me express joy, sorrow, contentment, worship, stress and many other emotions. I can't imagine my life without it. When I heard there was an organization that helped financially challenged young people have affordable lessons on a musical instrument, I was very happy. Since I am a piano teacher, I volunteered to take a MusicLink student. I have never been sorry. I live in a culturally diverse area and through my fifteen or so years of volunteering I have had students from many countries ad cultures. Becoming friends with them and their families has enriched my life and broadened my horizons. It has been a joy to see the students learn and grow in their musical skills. My first MusicLInk student was from Central America. Her parents were so supportive ad happy that she could have lessons. I had another family who were here on political asylum because their people were oppressed in their home country. The two daughters in that family are fine musicians today. Anyone who contributes to MusicLink will be helping to add a lifetime joy to some young person.

As a nationally certified piano teacher and MusicLink coordinator for the state of Utah, it always gives me such an incredible feeling when I can connect a dedicated low-income piano student with a teacher, who is willing to provide lessons on partial or full scholarship.
A universal language, music education should be accessible to all children. It is in an investment in our future. This is why I dedicate my time as a volunteer to support MusicLink!

I have been with Musiclink since its inception twenty-five years ago. To say that in the past twenty-five years Musiclink has made an enormous difference in many childrens' lives would be an understatement. Not only students have had thousands of hours of one on one instruction on their chosen instruments, benefited from receiving free instruments, free music and help in attending music camps. More importantly, they have formed lasting bonds with their teachers & mentors. In most cases this bond has been & still is, much more important than the lessons themselves. By being in the Musiclink program and with the devotion of their teachers they have found purpose, direction & commitment. Many alumni are now doing amazing work in the field of music and other disciplines. A well deserved kudos is in order for Musiclink. May it continue grow and be even more successful in the next twenty-five years.
This is an incredibly wonderful and worthy nonprofit. I've been a piano teacher for over 25 years, an editor for a music publishing company for the same amount of time... and now I own a music publishing company -- I offer ALL MusicLink Foundation students my materials for free because I so much appreciate this amazing organization. Music education being cut in so many school systems means private lessons for most (and many cannot afford this). Music link makes this possible by reaching out and helping ALL families get affordable music lessons for their kids! ~ Carol Matz
I have been a MusicLink teacher for 15 years and have seen first-hand the results of this fine organization. Currently I am teaching an autistic student who was able to receive a piano through the help of MusicLink. The screening process that MusicLink uses to make sure that families qualify for financial aid has helped me too in determining their need. I help to run a Music School of 38 teachers and when we do get requests for financial aid, I always refer them to MusicLink first and then ask my teachers for their help. Thanks to MusicLink for all you do!
I have been a MusicLink teacher for over 10 years and have enjoyed many benefits through the organization. My student is comfortable with our arrangement because the parents filled out the confidential financial date to qualify making it more of a scholarship lesson than a free handout. The required annual assessment is unique and challenges the students to improve as I share the data I supply to MusicLink with each student. The organization assists teachers in so many ways and stays in touch throught their newsletter. Kudos to MusicLink! Congratulations on your 25th anniversary and many the success of MusicLink and the students continue to grow.
I volunteered for the Play-a-thon this year. The event was organized, our jobs were clearly explained and it was wonderful to see all the amazing youth and families that came out to support the foundation. It was heartwarming to see the teachers come and support their students. I could see the caring nature of each of the teachers and hope they see the full impact they are having on children's lives! I love that the play-a-thon not only brings awareness to the foundation, is a fundraiser, but also gives youth an opportunity to experience performing in front of an audience. I believe that the more experiences a youth has being in front of an audience, the more confident they will become in their everyday life. What a gift to give these youth.
Since a very young age, I have loved to sing. I have had many wonderful private instructors throughout my years of lessons. When looking back at the lessons I’ve learned, I realize that the value isn’t just the actual vocal, piano or guitar lessons I’ve learned. It’s the life lessons. Through my years of studying music privately, I have learned goal-setting, perseverance, self-discipline, problem solving, math and reading skills and much more. These lessons are invaluable. Through the MusicLink Foundation, thousands of children have been able to take private lessons. They are creating more than musicians one student at a time. They are creating well-rounded and successful young adults. As a Minnesota MusicLink Ambassador, I am honored to be part of an organization that makes a difference in children’s lives every day. Thank you MusicLink Foundation for letting me be a part of your organization and for being dedicated to enriching the lives of your students.
My commitment to and involvement with MusicLink for many years has resulted in many positive experiences with families and students. Teaching students whose families are going through financial, emotional or other difficulties is a blessing to them and to the teacher. Not only are the students able to learn a musical instrument without the stress of one more expense for the family, but the teacher may also provide extra support as a one on one "friend" . Students participating in the Playathon is a non threatening performance opportunity and wonderful fund raiser for assistance to students/families. In Minnesota, The public exposure at the MOA allows more and more people to know of this wonderful non profit organization.
MusicLink Foundation is amazing. Teachers provide free or discounted lessons to students who may not be able to afford private lessons. During the past year, MusicLink has helped reach and teach over 5,500 students in all 50 states and several Canadian provinces. The ongoing research confirms student success and the importance of the teacher-student long-term relationship at the heart of MusicLink lessons.
