I've been a volunteer at IYC for many years. I've seen this organization grow and improve. I know how amazing the people here are and how rewarding it is to volunteer with them. IYC volunteers are given numerous opportunities. They can choose to participate in many different types of projects. Everything we do here to help our community attributed to our hardworking volunteers and our selfless parent board. In addition to all IYC does for its community, IYC provides students at any age with a chance to develop and/or showcase their leadership skills by giving them opportunities to organize their own events/projects. Volunteers at IYC are able to collaborate with their peers and learn valuable lessons about communication and teamwork. While IYC's parents and more experienced members always make sure to give help to younger members when needed, IYC still teaches their volunteers independence and encourages them to plan and execute their own projects. At the end of the day, this organization is built to help not only the community, but it's own volunteers. I highly encourage anyone who is interested in volunteering to join IYC!
I have been a part of Impact Youth Club (IYC), affiliated with International Musicians Performing Arts Cultural Troupe for roughly five years now, and over this time I have accumulated nothing but positive thoughts when talking about this organization. The moment I joined IYC, I knew there was something special about this organization that defines it from the rest, and it stood out in a unique manner. IYC has taught me outstanding leadership skills and amazing people to interact with. Beginning this journey was to simply perform at senior centers when we held concerts there. It was an amazing experience, to play for and meet so many seniors who were deeply touched by the music I played. Later, I began hosting these concerts and gathering performers for our concert. It truly was amazing that I, as a student, could accomplish these tasks by myself and with the support of our founder Ms. Wendy and the Board of Directors. IYC has created a friendly family of passionate individuals who share a common goal of volunteering and helping our own local communities. I am proud that I am a member of this terrific family, and I only wish for its continued success in the future.
I joined IMPACT youth club a little less than a year ago, yet I feel as though I've already grew so much thanks to all the opportunities and leaders that have helped me. The students that run this club provide such good leadership and IYC allows anyone to step up, make a difference, and start projects. The club as a whole promotes such a positive environment that is beneficial to anyone that joins it and they provide an experience that not only allows you to give back to your community, but to learn new skills, become a leader, and make new friends from all over. IYC is all inclusive, meaning it has events and opportunities open to students of all talents, whether they like arts and crafts, playing an instrument, or public speaking. Even throughout quarantine, IYC was able to step up to the challenge and further the initiative. I loved my experience here and wish that others will be able to enjoy the club as much as I do.
IMPACT Youth Club (IYC) is a huge part of my life. I've grown IYC with since middle school, and now I'm a junior in high school. Over these six years that I've been with this volunteer group, I've learned much not only from the many activities I've participated in and organized but also from the other volunteers. IYC is student-led, so it provides great learning opportunities for volunteers to learn from their leaders as I have. Everyone in IYC is super nice and very passionate about community service, and I am proud of being part of such a talented group.
I joined IMPACT Youth Club in the middle of my freshman year in high school and it has had a significant impact on my life as this nonprofit has taught me numerous lessons and skills. One of the things I love most about IMPACT is that it is student-run. This gives students the opportunity to take on responsibilities, commitments, and leadership roles that are never taught in school. This organization has allowed me to grow so much as a person and a leader, and it has helped prepare me for the future. IMPACT also has a very supportive environment that encourages learning and a growth mindset, which is very important for people of all ages to embrace. This environment has helped foster students to learn from their mistakes and try to become better, which is an essential skill for people to improve throughout life. Everyone in this organization is always willing to collborate and share ideas with each other as well as help our community. In my time in IMPACT, I have grown so much. In the beginning, I was very shy and not confident enough to voice my own opinions or take any leadership positions. But, IMPACT's board of directors, volunteers, and Ms. Wendy have all helped foster a sense of community that enabled me to grow and become a better leader. IMPACT is truly a place for all people that want to grow and help out the community.
I joined this nonprofit when I was a freshman in high school, and I was invited to play in a quartet. Throughout that year, I solely played in senior centers, which gave me a lot of joy. I am very grateful that impact gave me the opportunity to play music with my friends. Now, I am a junior in high school, and I am much more involved with the club, and I have started coleading projects. Everybody within the club, including the parents behind the scenes, are all extremely kind to each other while encouraging everybody to work hard. The club is very active and passionate about community service, and I am very happy to be in contributing to their cause.
I joined IYC when it was first founded in fourth grade. Getting to see this organization grow with me has been such a valuable experience. I have learned how to be more of a leader and how to collaborate with other people. I would not trade this experience for the world. Thank you to Mrs. Wendy for creating such a life-changing volunteer organization :)
IMPACT Youth Club is a youth volunteer group that was founded in 2013, is based in New Jersey, and aims to give back to the community through various activities as well as fundraisers. In the past, IMPACT has hosted a variety of events such as an Alzheimer's fundraising concert in 2019, Walk-a-Thon pledge for Hurricane Harvey in 2017, and international concerts in countries like Taiwan, Austria, and France. IMPACT operates year-round, and during the school year, hosts monthly senior center concerts at various locations as well as cultural events like our annual Chinese New Year celebration; these events are all student-led. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have continued to give back to the community by hosting virtual concerts for senior citizens.
While completing my community service hours this year, IMPACT has provided me with a multitude of opportunities to develop my leadership skills. I was in charge of monthly senior center concerts at a local senior living center, hosted our annual Chinese New Year celebration, and organized part of the aforementioned Alzheimer's fundraiser. These experiences taught me many valuable skills, such as organization and collaboration, and grew my self-confidence. Not to mention, receiving positive feedback reminded me of my passion for giving back to the community.
Overall, IMPACT has reaped nothing but positive rewards for me. This organization not only fosters a caring support network between its members but encourages individuals to take leadership positions and develop a sense of professionalism. When I first joined this organization, I hardly knew the members and didn't take an interest in leading my own projects. Being in this organization for 4 years has allowed me to make numerous friends and accept leadership positions I never would have dreamed of. Another rewarding aspect of IMPACT is being able to develop a sense of professionalism at a young age. Occasionally, you have to step out of your comfort zone and work through challenging situations. However, in the end, you will become a more mature individual and be able to apply the skills you learned in real life.
If you are looking for a place to not only change yourself but the community around you, consider working with IMPACT: https://www.impactyouthclub.com/
I joined IMPACT Youth Club (IYC) nearly half a year ago and being in the group has taught and encouraged me so much. Ever since I've joined, I've learned about what an ambitious youth group looks like, especially relating to helping and giving back to the community. It has taught me to be more disciplined and how to be a true team player, among other things. Most importantly though, IYC has taught important business skills that one cannot get through learning in a classroom. It's student-run, allowing students opportunities to learn how to lead and work as a team. IYC provides important "real world" skills to help students adapt faster in their environment and become true leaders wherever they may go. Whether it be through learning how to develop and manage a project to learning how to organize an event and have it be successful, IYC truly does nurture a group of ambitious students who are prepared to face the world as they grow. Alongside that, the students of IYC are always giving back to the community. Before joining IYC, I never would have thought that I could help and be passionate about doing anything for the community. This organization truly has impacted me in a positive way and I am grateful I have the opportunity to be a part of it.
I joined IMPACT Youth Club in 8th grade and it has greatly changed me and taught me many lessons and skills. I really enjoy of this volunteer organization is completely student run which gives students to opportunity to learn skills such as leadership and organization, as well as commitment. In addition, all volunteers are treated as adults and all opinions are valued. We have had many projects, such as donating masks during the COVID-19 pandemic and we have had many senior center concerts for years. Every volunteer is so passionate and we work together as a team to help have successful projects. During my time with IYC, I've seen great growth in my leadership and public speaking skills. Before I joined, I was extremely shy and did not like talking in front of others at all. However, after joining IYC, I've grown to be more open and I'm even able to host meetings of around 50 people without breaking a sweat. This volunteer organization has an extremely dedicated and passionate founder, Ms.Wendy, and an equally dedicated board of directors to help support us students. This organization creates an incredible positive impact on the community through all of the volunteer work done year round.
IMPACT Youth Club (IYC) is an amazing 501(c) non-profit organization that serves local communities in New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, and Taiwan through cultural exchange, performance, and education. IYC is made up of over 100 volunteers ages 5 and up and has done so much for surrounding communities. I joined as a volunteer three years ago, and through these past couple of years, I have learned so much by engaging in community service through IYC and having the opportunity to lead the organization as co-president to where it is today. IYC volunteers have the chance to participate in all kinds of community service activities, like performing at senior center concerts, organizing charity concerts, bagging at supermarkets, doing trail clean-ups and initiating environmental pledges, organizing clothing/eyeglass/music book drives, organizing a free summer tutoring session, delivering meals to seniors, donating masks and PPE, and the list goes on! More importantly, however, IYC volunteers are able to come up with their own projects and initiatives, which makes the IYC experience all the more worth while. IYC is also student-run, giving highly qualified and dedicated volunteers the opportunity to take on leadership roles and learn how to lead an organization and how to mentor youngers students. IYC was also named a President's Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA) certified organization, meaning that dedicated volunteers who accumulate certain numbers of volunteer hours can earn national volunteer awards for their service, an amazing opportunity to reward them for their hard work. Because of how diverse IYC's community service initiatives are, and how IYC is student-run, IYC is truly a unique non-profit organization that deserves recognition.
Impact Youth Club (IYC) is a wonderful youth volunteer organization with the goal to serve local community through music, community service. Five years ago, my two kids and myself joined IYC and attended numerous volunteer activities including performing at charity concerts to seniors, fundraising events for Alzheimer's foundation, meal delivery to homebound seniors, trail cleanup and many more. The most impressive part of this group is that all events are led, planned and executed by youth volunteers and supported by adults. During pandemic, IYC donated more than 5000 masks and 7000 isolation gowns to local healthcare workers and polices. I am so amazed to witness many kids growing together with IYC through volunteering and become deeply compassionate and responsible young adults when they leave IYC for college. Big shoutout to IYC
My son joined Impact Youth Club (IYC), affiliated with International Musicians Performing Arts Cultural Troupe, in his 7th grade summer and I’m grateful that he did. Unlike most other student volunteer groups, IYC is a mainly student led organization that allows kids to learn, to plan and execute projects, and experience a lot of things that kids normally won’t get a chance to do at school. IYC helps kids to build leadership skills and abilities. Either they are a straight-A student or if they don’t have the best grade in school, IYC provides a platform for everyone to participate, showcase their talent or utilize their leadership skill to contribute to the community. All these things can boost their self confidence and even increase their social skills. Some young members were very shy in the beginning, seeing how they gradually change, become more talkative and willing to express their thoughts and ideas is amazing and I’m so touched to witness their growth as a parent. My son has learned so much from IYC. He has learned to manage his time better, be more organized and be a good supportive teammate. He has stepped out his comfort zone and did something that he had never imagined he could. IYC does make a good impact on our kids and our communities.
I joined IYC the summer of my 7th-grade year and it has been a memorable experience the entire time. IYC has given me so many opportunities to give back to my community and use my musical talents to bring joy to other people. IYC is mainly a student-run organization. I have learned so many leadership and organizational skills through planning, leading, and executing meaningful fun projects that can make a good impact on our communities. IYC teaches kids many skills that are not obtainable in school and can benefit in their future. Impact Youth Club has allowed me to meet a group of great people with a similar good cause and goal. Because of this wonderful volunteer organization, I was able to create bonds and friendships that will last a lifetime. IYC also gave me the chance to go international, visit Austria, Vienna, and perform in the Mozart Haus. That trip really opened my mind and allowed me to appreciate music on a different level. IYC is a non-profit organization that is certified by the President’s Volunteer Service Award. I am grateful and honored to be able to gain recognition for all of the work that we do.
I’m thankful to Ms. Wendy Wu, for creating this organization and her constant support that she gives to all IYC members. I am proud to be in this great organization.
Ever since I joined IYC, I have been able to experience a student-run volunteer service organization. With the mentorship from chairman of IYC, Ms. Wendy Wu, and the parent board, I learned how to have good time management, develop leadership skills and be more disciplined. Skills learned through books or school pale in comparison to a truly hands-on "real world" experience IYC provides. Being a merit-based hierarchy, IYC simulates how a professional company would function in a competitive setting. I am grateful to experience a work environment from Ms. Wu, the parent board and IYC as a whole.
As for volunteering, I was able to discover my passion in helping the community. Throughout my high school years, I never would have thought to be part of such an impactful organization in a leadership position. I have always been so consumed with school and swimming, I never had the time to make a difference in our community with an overwhelming schedule. However, through IYC I was able to help people in need and the less fortunate. From all of IYC's involvement with charities, I can consider myself a positive, contributing factor in our society.
My son joined Impact Youth Club/IYC, a student run community service organization affiliated with International Musicians Performing Arts Cultural Troupe, aka IMPACT, in early summer. He has learned so much about work ethics, time management, teamwork and leadership skills from IYC while serving good deeds. As a parent, what makes IYC unique is not only does it serve our community with different charity works, it also provides a great platform to help raise youth leaders with its founder Ms. Wu’s outstanding mentorship. Every kid is given an equal opportunity to learn how to develop their own ideas into real projects while giving back to the community and serving good deeds. Children are encouraged to share their ideas and to speak their minds; to set a goal and achieve it; to learn how to be a team player and ultimately be a good leader. This kind of learning gateway is usually available to selective top students in class but in IYC, everyone who has the visions, the courage and drive will have the same opportunity that is usually at the hands of elite students. It gave my son an opportunity to spend his summer serving our community and learning skills that will benefit him in the future, not just to look great on college and scholarship applications.
