Mission: The Florida Institute of Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy (FIFDT) has been developed to provide expectant couples with the greatly needed option of a surgical intervention which increases the chance of fetal survival with minimal risks to the mother. The institute provides a continuum of service not only in diagnosis and in utero treatment, but also neonatal and pediatric involvement and follow-up. Health care professionals will provide expertise in management of fetal/placental malformations and other complications in pregnancy. FIFDT also serves to educate other professionals and the public regarding research based management options developed at the institute. The aim of FIFDTs research is to evaluate the effects of newly developed management options.
