I have personally witnessed the incredible work of this organization and it's impact on our Nation's Veterans. The respect towards our Veterans and the work they do getting Veterans back in the outdoors hunting, fishing, or shooting is inspirational and makes me want to do more for them. I am so proud to know that my donation goes directly to the programs they provide. I am humbled to have been at the side of wounded Warriors during some hunts and to witness not only how it impacts the lives of those that sacrifice so much for us but how it has impacted me personally to be among such an incredible group of individuals. The volunteer staff of Black Dagger Military Hunt Club have dedicated their lives to serving those who have so willingly served us through their military service. It is inspiring, humbling, and makes me proud to know them. I urge anyone reading this to donate to them if they are looking for a very worthy organization. The smiles on the faces of these HEROES as they catch that fish, hit a bulls eye with a firearm, or harvest a hog or deer does my heart and mind good. Thank you Black Dagger for all you do. I mean this from the bottom of my heart!!! Respectfully, Keith Reimers
Black Dagger Military Hunt Club provided Scott with an experience he will never forget. Scott is a100% disabled Navy veteran with whom Black Dagger members engaged in a turkey hunt. Hanging out with a bunch of guys who understand what Scott is going through is mental and physical therapy in the best way. It was a time to relax and connect with nature. Scott would love to do it all over again. It was a fantastic opportunity!!
Thank you Dave Winters and Black Dagger Military Hunt Club for an absolutely outstanding weekend of turkey hunting in Central Florida. Black Dagger teamed up with an awesome local hunting club and hosted six veterans for a lifetime memorable weekend. Food, friends and a great Old Florida hunting experience. Thank you Black Dagger (Dave, Clint, Randy) and all of the guys at Hard 8 hunt club.
Outstanding organization, working with truly great and patriotic people to assist our veteran community in ways few else are. I highly recommend anyone interested in assisting our military veterans consider Black Dagger as an option. I was honored and humbled to be included in what they do.
The Black Dagger Military Hunting Club crew is top notch!!! I had an awesome time chasing Osceola turkeys in FL. The experience from start to finish was second to none! I cannot recommend this organization enough to SOF members who enjoy the outdoors and connecting with others in the community, and also to any potential donors looking for an organization that is making a difference!!!

I can't thank Black Dagger MHC enough for helping me complete my slam and providing one of the best turkey hunting moments of my life. From the moment I arrived, I felt like part of the family. The host became more than just a guide; they are family now, and that’s a testament to the warmth and dedication this organization shows. Black Dagger MHC does so much more for veterans and the outdoors than most people realize. Their commitment to making dreams come true for veterans, while supporting outdoor adventures, is unmatched. If you're looking for an experience that goes beyond just a hunt, this is the organization to trust. True down to earth Americans!
I’ve started following black dagger about 2 years ago and when they say that they truly care about veterans, it’s true! I’ve gone fishing with them 2 times and each time it’s been all about the veteran. Black dagger has a lifetime follower out of me!
My son and I were invited to a Youth Spring Turkey Hunt with Black Dagger. We spent 3 days and 2 nights at a nice location in GA. There were other military families there and the first day we got to know each other, share stories and get ready for the Hunts. We got up early and went out with the guides morning and evening. We shared meals and had a stress free time with family and new friends. My son was successful on day 2 and the weekend will be something for both of us to remember! We both needed this time and I'm thankful to Black Dagger and look forward to any time I can spend participating or volunteering
I am so thankful to Black Dagger Hunt Club for all they do for Gold Star Families. We have learned so much and enjoyed every time we have visited Black Dagger. From clay shoots to deer camp, we have always been treated like family.
Proud Gold Star Mother of Capt. Mark N Brunelle, USMC
I want to personally say Thank you to Dave Winters. I am with Association U.S. Army Suncoast Chapter as the President Elect and wanted to see if I could join them with one of their many outreach programs! The event was to clean the tombstones of a local cemetery. The had a National representative Andrew The Good Cemeterian who did a presentation and uses the same materials that are used to clean Arlington Cemetery! I learned so much that day especially how amazing everyone is at The Black Dagger Military Hunt Club
BLACK DAGGER MILITARY HUNT CLUB is by far one of the most upstanding non-profits in the Tampa Bay area.
I've been blessed to know Dave Winters and many of the volunteers who have been so kind and compassionate, helping me and my wife navigate our grief after losing our son in the war.
I've gone on hunting trips, fishing trips and other events. Everything they do is to help the Veteran and GOLD STAR community.
Highly recommended.
I have participated in many events with the Black Dagger Military Hunt Club. I always came away feeling better about myself, and my fellow Veterans. The folks that run BDHC are just some ordinary guys with an extraordinary sense of service to Veterans.
I have seen them help a severely disabled Veteran compete on a level playing field with non disabled. They will go to most any length to make it work.
I have seen several disabled Vets who have participated in events, they bring with them an Angel. A wife who supports them beyond all measure. BDHC helps make these scenes happen.
I always look forward to the invitations to events, and try to participate.
Thanks to everyone.
My son is medically retired from the military. He is wheelchair bound and has poor vision. Black Dagger has helped him get out and shoot guns like he was used to in the Army giving him a sense of freedom and accomplishment. Black Dagger is always there with events and happenings to help the retired military feel useful and accepted.
Black Dagger MHC, INC and Mr. Dave Winters and all of his Volunteers have given me a Lifetime
of Florida Friends and Family that I can always depend on and rely on.
Through there organization I have been able to participate in so many fun and unique activities. The best being the Annual "Top Shot" Military Heroes Competition at the Hillsborough County Sheriff firing range. Another is shooting at the 500 yd Range they built and having lunch together. Learning how to shoot a shotgun at clay pigeons. Hunting wild Boar. It is the friendships and trust I have made that means the most ! I am forever grateful !
I will be forever gratful for Dave Winters and his crew who have made this possible. They put in countless hours of volunter time to make it happen. Black Dagger Provides all kinds of oppurtuniys for veterans to get out of the house, enjoy the outdoors and have a chance to interact with other veterans, Often these are the only times they get out to do things especially with other veterans who know what they have experienced first hand. This is exactly the thing most of them need most. I have been invloved in several events, I have been treated like someone special, my service was respected and found the fellowship at these events to be highlights in my life. l am extremly thankful for the oportunity to attend these events and be invloved with the Black Dagger Staff. they are all unpaid volunteers and every dollar they recieve is spent directly on service to veterans.
Black Daggers does not look at Vets injuries, they look at the Vets Mental State. Something we need more of. I was selected to attend a fishing trip in June 2022 with 14 other vets and some were drastically wounded, loss of limbs and wounds, while others were mentally wounded, due to IED mines and constant bombardment by mortars. There was one vet who had such a neurological injury, he could not walk; however, being vets we all pooled together to get him on a boat to fish. His brother held the rod for him and help him reel in a fish. He changed, I mean he changed, you could see it in his facial expressions, his body language and his confidence. He was whole for a few precious moments, made my day, but if it was not for Black Daggers and organizations like them, it would not happen. So, I feel I was the big winner seeing this Vet. have a great day, along with the other 13 of us. The skippers of the five boats at Freedom Club all gave their time, boats and cost as a donation, this was terrific. I salute these men and the organizers of Black Daggers. I am a 20 year vet, 100 percent permanent disabled with two total knees and one ankle. Do I feel thankful for Black Daggers?, beyond words, Do I support them? with all I can. Capt. Larry Smith USAF ret
As a paraplegic Viet Nam veteran, Black Dagger has offered many Sport Shooting events which I have attended for several years. So grateful for the opportunity to be out and experience the activities with fellow vets. Dave Winters and team do an outstanding job planning, organizing and over seeing -while caring for each one of us.
Excellent organization which offers escapes for veterans to experience the outdoors through hunting and fishing excursions. Every trip I have been on with them has allowed me to connect with other veterans and caring members of the community. This is a truly invaluable service which helps veterans to connect with others and distracts from the rigors of daily life helping with mental well-being for those veterans.
Black Dagger is an extremely amazing organization. My family has attended their shooting event that is organized like the Military Top Shot competition. Black Dagger also sent my wife to the event, Parachutes for Patriots that was held in DeLand, Florida. It was a two day event and Black Dagger put us up in a hotel for the night. I love that Black Dagger not only supports the veterans, but also their families. I am normally a recluse but Black Dagger gets me out of the house and interacting with other veterans. I’m extremely appreciative for them because of all their efforts.
BDHC is an amazing group of veterans and supporters that use outdoor activities to bring back a bond most have lost and forgot after service. I went on a hunting trip with my son with them and my son was able to harvest his first ever deer and the excitement and enjoyment everyone had at camp was second to none.
This is a "Premier" Veterans Organization. Simply stated, it is Soldiers helping soldiers in any & all manners possible, and all on a Volunteer Basis. Us Veterans are Blessed to have such an organization of our peers !!!! Thank You !!!
I'm looking for information about this dagger my father gave me and his father gave to him.

Black Dagger Military Hunt Club is an incredible non-profit organization run by my father-in-law and my husband. I have seen first hand the amount of handwork, dedication and passion they have poured into this organization. I have had the great pleasure of volunteering on occasion and it is always an incredible experience to serve those that have served for our country.
Black Dagger Military Hunt club goes above and beyond supporting wounded veterans ranging from the Global war on terror to World War 2. The organization is constantly supporting a wide range of wounded veterans by getting them outside to do hunts, skeet shoots, paddle boarding, and even making snow angels in Florida for a terminally ill vet. The owner of BD works tirelessly during his personal time to raise money and organize events without taking a dollar for himself. If you're looking for an non-profit to donate to that will ensure your money is helping veterans, Black Dagger Military Hunt club is one.
BDMHC and their sponsors are simply the best, they get so many Veterans outside and provide them opportunities that free them from the prisons that their disabilities build

They have done it again, BDMHC put together the 7th Annual Top Shot competition on 17 November 2018. The Club and supporters had at least 20 Veterans and family members out to the HCSO ranger and matched us with professional shooters from around the country for a day of fun competition. The courses was challenging but not out of reach. Pro shooters gave pointers to the competitors so they could polisher their skills. I have not seen so many smiling Vets since last years Top Shot, everyone's moral was through the roof. This organization is manned by all volunteers that are nothing short of miracles for us, they put in so much time and effort it is unimaginable. Dave Winters is an amazing man, he is at every event and have never seen him have a bad day, he naturally spreads the smiles to all around him. This Top Notch organization pulled off another Top Shot, I am already looking forward to next years competition.
I have had the privilege of knowing Dave and this organization for over 5 years now. As a disabled veteran myself I started off volunteering with them for myself and have continued to be blown away by the passion and effort that Dave and the rest off the staff have shown through the years. I honestly can’t think of one bad experience of negative thing to say and wish I could be more involved with them.
It’s the best outdoor sporting therapy organization. The staff of 100% volunteers make you feel completely comfortable and welcome. For vets of all eras!
As a person with a disability (SCI) I know first hand how important access to the outdoors is. Dave and his group try their best to get people out and provide a safe experience for veterans in the outdoors. Thanks for all you do for veterans with disabilities.

I am a Board member of a local charity in Tampa. We have worked with Black Dagger Military Hunt Club on numerous occasions to help them do what they do best, assist wounded veterans in their effort to get outdoors. Through fishing, hunting, shooting and so many more adventures, they change the lives of men and women. They are an amazing charitable organization and I hope to work with them more in the future. They do good because they are good.
Love what this organization does for our veterans, service members, and community. I am honored to support and volunteer with BDMHC.
One of the most supportive and uniquely creative nonprofit groups to support Wounded Warriors and military. In both personal support and in watching them help others they are always willing to find a way to mentally and physically enable individuals and their families!
Black Dagger MHC is an organization that has stepped outside the box to provide the non-clinical help to those military members in need. Their approach not only creates new and amazing lifetime memories for participants, but it helps veterans find a way to escape from the pains that others may not understand. I recently joined BDMHC on a hunt and I found a new joy and hobby that has brought excitement back to my life. Thank you to all of you for bringing the light back and allowing me to join you. I will never forget this experience!!!
I have had the opportunity to volunteer and participate in fundraising for this organization. Dave Winters and the Black Dagger Military Hunt Club goes above and beyond. BDMHC creates memories in a special and safe environment for our military veterans who have served and are active duty. Making sure that our vets with special needs are taken care of allowing all to have quality time together enjoying hunting, fishing, shooting and many other sports with like minded individuals. I am proud to be able to give back to those who have supported and still support our country. "Together We Are Stronger" God Bless the USA. Thank you for all you do and continue to do. Thank you for allowing me to give back, I truly enjoy it Georgianna Strickland.
BDMHC consists of volunteers who, where they’ve served a day in a military uniform or not, embodies the American values and Warrior ethos to help our nations wounded, ill, injured, and gold star families. There is no organization I can speak more highly of. Their integrity and work ethic above reproach. Their spirit is one of helping those who have helped others and are now themselves in need. BDMHC provides me the opportunity to work with veterans, their family members, and veteran supporters in the area in order to achieve a stronger sense of community and emotional bond.
This organization is amazing! I have attended 5 events that they have put on (in the span of 3 years). Top shot competition, clay shooting, snapper tournament, Airforce ball fishing tournament, and most recently a hog hunt. There is not enough words to express my gratitude for this organization for taking a damaged Veteran such as myself and replenishing the part of me that I thought would never come back out again!

This program is amazing! As a disabled Veteran I am offered great opportunities to hunt and fish! Being outdoors helps me cope with my disability and being around others who are fighting the same battles creates a safe place for me to talk and share some of the things that I don’t usually get to talk about. This program has helped me greatly and I can’t wait for the next fishing trip or hunt!
The folks at Black Dagger and their volunteers work wonders helping us Vets heal through their programs. I’ve struggled for years with several issues. Dave Winters and his team (Too Many To Name) are always there for us in our time of need. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude. I love this organization.

Black Dagger is amazing! I cannot thanks these guys enough. I've been able to experience new things like Turkey Hunting and Stand Up Paddleboarding. The love and appreciation I feel from Black Dagger and all of the personnel I've come in contact with through them is beyond words.
If there are any Service Members in the Tampa area that have not participated in a Black Dagger event, do it now! You will not be disappointed.
BDMHC is an amazing organization working with veterans to increase their quality of life, getting them outdoors to enjoy hunting, fishing and other activities. They create camaraderie by hosting competitions and events, and fundraising for veterans in need. This past year they brought in snow to FL for a dying veterans wish to make a snow angel. I have been proud to have volunteered with this organization for several years.

I have been a volunteer with this organization for almost two years. They provide great opportunities for veterans to get active in the outdoors by participating in sporting clays events, hunting, and fishing. By getting these veterans together, it not only allows them to do the things they love again, but to share their experiences with other veterans, and regain the camaraderie they knew from active service. Great organization and great veterans!!
I have had the honor of volunteering with this nonprofit. I witnessed them doing great things in the community so I could not wait to help. I underestimated their selfless hard work and 110% back they give out. I can not wait to get back in and help again. The smiles on Veterans faces, as well as their family members was priceless.

Last month I was selected to participate in a fishing event with Black Dagger Military Hunt Club (BDMHC) in Panama City. I had never met any of the staff/volunteers or veterans prior to the event but, within minutes I felt as if they were family/old friends. It was truly a relaxing and enjoyable time. The services BDMHC provide the disabled veteran community are beyond exceptional and greatly appreciated.
Black Dagger set up a fantastic fishing trip in Panama City. Despite the weather, we still made it out on the water and had a blast amongst veterans and active duty men and women. It was good to see the quality of personnel who work for this nonprofit and was an honor to have participated in this event that clearly took a lot of coordination and planning to set up. Could not have been any better!
This is such an extraordinary group of volunteers and veterans. When you get involved here, you can feel the unyielding sense of progress and the "anything is possible" attitude. There's no obstacle or disability that hinders this organization from getting a veteran out and behind a trigger or hooked into some fish. I've loved every event I've been able to participate in and even some events I've volunteered myself for! I'm so extremely grateful for this group to help my recovery from both the scars seen and unseen. Etiam in Pugna

I'd like to thank Black dagger for providing me with opportunities to get out and reconnect with military comrades, and do so with something as adrenaline pumping as a trophy hog hunt or an exillerating shooting competition! The things we get to do on most of these events, we only dream of and think to ourselves, "I'd like to do something like that before I die." You provide us with an irreplaceable experience that will always have me grinning ear to ear. Thank you once again for all you've done for me and my brothers!
Had a great time with BDMHC on the Red Snapper Fishing Trip even if the weather did not agree with use. Everyone had a chance to do some fishing and have a good time with fellow veterans. Thanks Dave
I’ve had such an amazing time with Black Dagger on multiple events from fishing to shooting and even hunting! This organization epitomizes of what a true non-profit organization should be.
My daughter and I went with my husband to the Panama City Beach Fishing trip this month. While my husband fished, my daughter and I were kept busy with the Winters family and other spouses. They were so attentive to insure we had a good experience! They definitely go way out of their way to provide a positive experience for all of the Veterans. The Sponsors that donated time or money also were most gracious. Although my husband has attended a few past events, it was the first for us. We would definitely attend future events with him. Thank you to the entire Winters Family!
It is heartwarming to see the care and attention to detail that Black Dagger provides to these events.
I was able to participate in the recent Red Snapper tournament in Panama City Beach and I can tell you that the work that Black Dagger does to provide veterans an opportunity to do outdoor activities that they otherwise would not be able to do is amazing.
You get to see the light shine in the eyes of people who otherwise are in a daily struggle.
Dave Winters goes out of his way to ensure that everyone is accommodated for.
I had the incredible privilege of joining the recent Black Dagger Red Snapper fishing expedition to Panama City, FL. The fantastic work done by Dave Winters and a handful of volunteers was top notch! It is inspirational to see the hard work and dedication being spent to give back to vets - both active duty and those retired with disabilities. It is no doubt making a huge (positive!) impact on many people's lives. Thanks again for the honor of being a part of this.
I began shooting sporting clays with BDMHC about 9 months ago, and I have been on an inshore day fishing trip in St. Petersburg, Florida, and a 4 day off-shore fishing trip with 19 other disabled veterans in Panama City Beach, Florida. I have a unique perspective for a disabled veteran, because I have an extensive background in outdoor adventure therapy for wounded troops and disabled veterans, children with disabilities, and cancer survivors as a non-profit executive from 2007-2016. I am also a certified shooting sports, fishing, paddle sports, bushcraft, and water safety instructor; and a member of the Adaptive Outdoor Safety Council.
Black Dagger is on a very short list of the three most impressive non-profit I've encountered in this sector. They truly understand and are passionate about reconnecting disabled veterans with the community and each other through adaptive outdoor recreation. Part of the Adaptive Sports Program and James A. Haley VA Hospital, the leadership of BDMHC is top notch in safety, development and implementation of adaptive and assistive technology, and therapeutic value at the point of delivery. All participants are referred by their VA or military healthcare providers and cleared to participate in these types of activities.
On a personal note, my experience with Black Dagger has been very good for me. Married to another combat-disabled veteran, we relocated to FL last year to help with other family members in need. So we have no social life to speak of outside of BDMHC and the American Legion. BDMHC has made it much easier for us to continue our active outdoor lifestyles during this major life change, and we have met some awesome people. Honestly, our involvement with BDMHC has been a very bright spot in an otherwise difficult time in our lives. I can't understate the importance of this organization in the overall wellness picture of the disabled veterans who call the Tampa Bay Area home.
Black Dagger is an awesome veteran supportive organization. Black Dagger gave me the opportunity to participate in a local stand up paddle board race, along with several other veterans. It was a great time on a beautiful day and allowed us all to connect. I was also invited for a small dinner gathering with the race events coordinators, which just topped off the day. I cannot thank this organization enough for this opportunity and the opportunities they create for my brethren in arms.
I was lucky enough to be included in a red snapper fishing event that Black Dagger put together. For being a small organization they went above and beyond to make sure none of the veterans needed anything. Everyone associated with Black Dagger was not only professional but also all around good people.
The boat captains were incredible, they got every one on fish and made sure we all had the best time possible. Everyone of us left the event with nothing but good things to say and a few of us were able to develop a friendship that has lasted beyond the event.
I am grateful for the chance to have been part of this event and have gotten the chance to meet some great Americans.
I went on the first annual red snapper tournament, and it was an amazing trip! We had two great days of fishing on the water, and two nights of great fellowship .the boat captains did a wonderful job of putting us on fish, and we are very thankful they offered their time and boats.
I’m looking forward to next year!

Black Dagger is a wonderful organization. I had the pleasure of hosting their recent fishing tournament at the Resort where I work, and it was really touching to see how much this organization cared for the Veterans they represented. Black Dagger is genuinely volunteer and non profit driven. They organize meaningful events for Veterans and share their cause in a graceful manner. The leader of the organization as well as the coordinator of the fishing tournament personally invited me to be apart of their gathering at a local home. I loved the warm welcomes and watching the group interact on a family type level. Black Dagger is the best non profit I have ever had the pleasure of teaming with and I look forward to hosting them again soon and also volunteering for their great cause!
Thank you so much for providing me the opportunity to experience deep sea fishing!!! I recently was lucky enough to participate in the fishing trip out of Johns pass. What a great time. The fishing, comaraderie, boat ride and food were all fantastic. It was a real privilege to be able to attend!! Fantastic organization!! Thank you!

I was lucky enough to be chosen for the 1rst annual Red Snapper Tournament In Panama City Beach, FL. Black Dagger put us up in the Sheraton at Baypoint what an incredible place to stay fist class all the way any thing you needed the staff was eager to serve you we had to day of fishing the first day was pretty rough but we cant snapper and a King Mackerel second day was little calmer and we caught some more snapper. Mission BBQ provided our supper on Friday and Saturday nights it was out standing . I cant say enough about the professionalism and attention every one from Black Dagger showed this weekend. I hope some day to be chosen on another Black Dagger event for just that weekend my depression and PTSD were not in control of me. THANK YOU BLACK DAGGER
I am a volunteer for the Black Dagger Military Hunt Club and it is an absolute pleasure taking care of our Veterans. To be part of an organization that is comprised of all volunteers means donations get to benefit Black Daggers cause and that is helping our Veterans.

Being a Black Dagger volunteer is so rewarding in so many ways. Meeting these women and men who have defended our Country and seeing them have such a good time at the events is awesome. To see donations go directly to benefit these Veterans is something you don't normally get to see. I hope to keep volunteering for quite some time.

I had a wonderful time during the fishing getaway to Panama City, FL organized by the Black Dagger. Everything was great: hotel accommodations, boats, activities, etc. I would definitely recommend this wonderful organization to all the veterans!!!!
This is an outstanding organization that give wounded, ill, and injured vets an opportunity to participate in outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and shooting sports. as a veteran who has used their service I can tell you they truly believe in what they do and provide a healing benefit to us as veterans.
My family and I had the privilege to volunteer this past weekend (6/16/2018) at the Black Dagger MHC Red Snapper Tournament. What a wonderful experience! We can not say enough good things about this organization and the lives it is touching. We never felt as though we were there to do a “job” we were there to make a difference and serve those who served us. It was a wonderful gift not only for the vets but also a gift to us. Absolutely loved sharing this with my children.
This weekend I had the privilege of attending the 1st Annual BDMHC Red Snapper Fishing Tournament & had an absolute blast! I could go on & on about the whole thing but in short, it was just absolutely amazing & we had a fantastic time catching lots of red snapper & a lot of other species. Thanks so much to BDMHC, Dave Winters, the sponsors, captains, volunteers & everyone else who made this trip possible.
This father's day weekend, I had the privilege to be able to volunteer my time with Black Dagger Military Hunt Club at their 1st annual red snapper tournament. We had a blast out thereon the water! Everyone was on the fish and smiles were all around. It was great to spend time with such an amazing group of veterans.
I want to start by saying thank you to all Veterans on this Veterans Day! My name is Thomas Taylor and I am a 20yr Coast Guard Veteran. Dave and the entire bunch, here at Black Dagger do amazing things for us, and I just can't say thank you, enough, for the support, morale, and friendships they have forged with my family and I! Keep up the awesome work, and Thank you all, God bless
It is with great honor that I write this review. From the moment I pulled up at the shooting event at Black Dagger Military Hunt Club, I felt as though I had known the people for years. I was welcomed with open arms by each of the staff volunteers, many of whom dedicated an entire weekend day to assist with the start and finish of the event. I cannot underscore enough the safe range practices that I observed by each one of the volunteers at the event. Every bullet fired down range was done so in a responsible, efficient manner due to the staff's constant awareness of range safety procedures. It was like Christmas morning for me at the event. As a former infantryman, I felt as though every magazine handed to me was a gift. I must have fired close to 2,000 various rounds that day (from .223 to .50 BMG). The staff made sure your weapon always had a fresh magazine and that you had a smile on your face. I cannot thank the folks at Black Dagger Military Hunt Club enough for what you did for me that day. May God bless each one of you, and I hope this review serves as a window to the public into how you are changing lives. There is definitely something to say about "recoil therapy" as a good way to clear your mind, and you folks go far beyond that in what you do for veterans. In closing, I would like to thank Mission BBQ for the catered meal to the event; it was seriously the best BBQ I have ever eaten (and thank you Mr. Winters for the "to go" bag!). Thank you again!
Respectfully,

I love Black Dagger! They get me outdoors and involved in shooting sports. Sometimes, I take my boys and create great memories! Helping veterans is their calling, and they're a great blessing to soo many, including me. Great charity!
Working with the Black Dagger Military Hunt Club has been outstanding. They pull out all the stops to provide wounded warriors and gold star families an enriching experience that goes well beyond simply hunting. The comraderie that is built at their events cannot be quantified. The opportunities this charity provides to help heal the wounds of war and the effort the staff puts forth makes it an organization worthy of everyone's support.
I am a Gold Star Father having lost my son in the war in Afghanistan. Since my son's demise I have battled depression and the feeling of loss on a regular basis.
However, there have been many days where the loss is minimised by caring and empathetic people who generously reach out....and through their actions have shown me that my son's sacrifice is NOT forgotten.
One such organization that has helped me and other Gold Star Fathers is the Black Dagger MILITARY Hunt Club.
This organization has reached out to us on More than one occasion. They have taken us shooting and provided lunches....and some great fellowship!
I heartily endorse The Black Dagger MILITARY Hunt Club.
I have been a volunteer a handful of times for this organization. I've witnessed first hand the ability of this charity to literally pull somewhat introverted veterans out of their shell. It's a true joy to see a smile come across a face you know hasn't smiled in far to long. I can only hope those patients from the VA gain as much therapy from the experiences as I do. It's truly an honor to be able to, in some small way, be able to help these young men and women find their way back.
It's an honor and a privilege to be a part of Black Dagger Military Hunt Club Inc. as a volunteer. This wonderful organization is not JUST helping our military warriors heal outdoors.
It is an AMAZING group of people, who are a great example of SELFLESSNESS!!!
One small act can make a difference in the life of a Veteran, and the work that they do goes above and beyond that!
Thank you, Black Dagger, for the opportunity to give back! Thank you, Veterans, for your service, and for the sacrifices you have made!!!
I'm combat injured; blind, right leg amputee, 65% burned with limited use of my hands. After my injury, I never thought I would get back into the woods. Black Dagger Military Hunt Club showed me that, even with my disabilities, I could still pursue this passion.
I've been blessed with the opportunity to participate in five different outings and have thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated all of them. I look forward to future adventures with the club.
With Sincere Thanks,

We have been honored to be partof the Black Dagger Hunt Club. After my husband's traumatic brain injury he was told his days of target shooting (his favorite hobby) were over. Through the our local VA we were introduced to Black Dagger. It has been wonderful to see my husband not only enjoy target and trap shooting again but be given a chance to be around so many who face similar challenges. I can't stress enough what a positive impact Black Dagger has had on him. His therapist have even notice an improvement in his eyes ability to focus and overall field of vision since he started target shooting again. We are profoundly grateful for the friendships we have made and opportunity to enjoy a hobby he had before. So much of life has changed, it is such a blessing when we are able to regain a few activities from before his traumatic brain injury
I've known BDMHC for about 3 years now and they were the first people since I had been injured that got me out of the hospital and onto their range. They are a wonderful and dedicated group of people who really believe in doing all they can for our veterans. I am thankful for everything they have done for me and very much look forward to taking part in their events in the future.

The Black Dagger Military Hunt Club is fantastic. Safe and coordinated shooting operations are consitantly provided and guided. It has always been wonderful to participate under Black Dagger led activities.
Just wanted to say thank you to Black Dagger for letting me help out and participate in Top Shot 2015. It was the most memorable experience i have had to this day. Got to meet and compete with fellow disabled veterans. Came in second place. THANK YOU BLACK DAGGER!
These guys are great! Such great attitudes and giving me opportunities that I didn't know existed. I tell everyone I can about them.
Truly great group ran by selfless individuals. I truly enjoyed the experience they allowed for me and the other veterans. Every step of the way is to better the experience of the veterans involved.
Hubby finally got a BUCK with y'all and operation outdoor freedom this past weekend. You were all amazing and shared his excitement. Thank you so much for this opportunity for him and all you do for our veterans. He is so excited for all the hunts he is able to attend in the future.
Black Dagger is an organization that allows wounded / injured military veterans to experience the outdoors and sports without the events being too large, over-manned, complicated, and there is no "babying" or "hand-holding". We veterans are respected for our abilities regardless of injuries, and the relationships with Black Dagger personnel, especially Ryan, are personal, and long-lasting friendships are made. I hope to always be a part of this organization!

I was recently invited to attend Black Dagger's event shooting sporting clays with my son. We both had a blast! Great people with good souls!
I recently was introduced to Black Dagger from another wounded veteran in the Tampa area. After registering less than a week previously I was contacted by Dave and Ryan Winters. They both offered any kind of help in its immediacy, but also if I was able to participate in any events ASAP. Of course I said I needed to check but of course. Within a month of the initial contact I was out hunting with them.
Very well organized, the land management and set-up is very well thought out. The compound was impressive with the ancillary benefits of a "camp" outside of a camp. All the volunteers were very eager to meet me and explain their role in the organization. Got to meet and greet with a "sponsor" of the hunt and his wife and they were terrific people! Very professional, very detailed, very organized. Everyone was very respectful and courteous and always asking if we needed anything in preparation for the hunt. Even if I had forgot something they had all the necessary equipment to show up in boxer shorts!
First we did the introductions, safety briefs, and then a little more on the types of animals that are out in the preserve, but also that they have at other staging areas in town. We then went out for weapons safety and practice/zero. I think it was an added bonus that the trappers had showed up about an hour before we were getting ready to leave for the hunt, but they had brought about 12 boars to the farm for release. It was pretty neat to see them all in the cages, before they got turned loose on the property.
Overall and awesome experience with even greater people. You can't put a price tag on something like that. Great bunch of guys and gals that I plan on keeping in touch with over the years!
I have been helped by black dagger in more ways than I can count. The have provided guidance, mentorships, encouragement. They have shown me that they is more than a broken body and bruised soul. It seems no matter what the day is like u can expect Dave and Ryan to be there smiling pushing you forward to your goals. They and the rest of the volunteers are some very special people. Our special community can never thank them enough for what they do for all of us.
Black Dagger Military Hunt Club is an amazing non profit that gets our veterans back out on the range shooting, hunting and fishing. I have been volunteering for over 2 years because I love to see our veterans smiling and enjoying spending time with other veterans young and old. The other thing that I LOVE about Black Dagger is that 98% of every donated dollar goes back to the veterans. I encourage anyone to donate or volunteer with this organization.
As a volunteer I have attended two events. One was a competition clay shoot and the other was a day for veterans to skeet shoot. At both events everything was very well organized, but what impressed me the most was that the veterans regardless of experience had a review on safety of firearms prior to handling the fire arms. Also they were all cleared prior to the event by medical personnel to be certain they were ready for the step. Black dagger military Hunt club makes every effort to run their organization in the correct manner to protect all involved.
I have been involved with Black Dagger for 4 years now and I cannot not begin to explain how amazing this organization is. To watch these heroes smile as they bag that trophy boar or land a monster redfish is an experience that cannot not be described. These heroes who have given so much for us deserve everything we have to give back and black dagger makes that possible. It is a true honor and privilege to be involved with this organization and the heroes it helps. Helping heroes heal is not just the motto, it's what we are all about.
I have been a volunteer and guest at Black Dagger events. In both roles it gave a fond sense of purpose and connection that I haven't had in what feels like a life time. Thank you all for the Encouraging work you do! Keep on getting as many Service Men and Women engaged in this truly outstanding program. SEMPER FI
I attended Black Dagger MHC Hog/Deer Hunt this month and I must say, this was absolutely the best hunting experience I have ever had. Black Dagger MHC, under the leadership of David Winters, has once again provided another great adventure. The hunt was located on Strickland Farm, southeast of Tampa, with all the wildlife one could imagine. My thanks to the Strickland family for affording us the opportunity to share their beautiful land for this event. Operation Outdoor Freedom, under the leadership of David Hunt, as well as Floridas' finest Division of Forestry provided additional personnel and materiel from guides to cooks and more. To all personnel, volunteering their own time, a personal and heartfelt thank you for making this event a success. You are all appreciated. For those moments we shared, stories and jokes we told, you all make us feel rewarded and enriched until the next time.
I haven't been able to hunt in over 5 years. These guys are awesome, they welcome you in give you what you need to be successful. Had a blast meeting other veterans from all eras. I definately recommend Black Dagger Hunt Club! Hope I get to go on more of these hunts, they really do care about veterans.
Killing a Hog named “Regret”
When we rolled back into the camp on Saturday night, Mr Dave Winters patted me on the back and said nice kill about the boar we just bagged. I said, “Yeah, but it was more significant than that. What do you call something in your life that is sort of like a monument to remember?” Dave replied, “In the Old Testament those were called ‘Markers’.”
Joe Evans, my Guide, and I had already agreed we weren’t killing any boars, but my wife had just told me that if a suitable wall trophy presented itself, then I could at least put it up in the garage. I really wasn’t looking for a trophy though, and I have never mounted anything on my wall. So, when that boar stepped into the kill zone by himself at dusk, Joe asked 3 or 4 times if I wanted him, and to go ahead and take him. I said no, I don’t want a trophy, and when the boar turned face on, I put the 150 gr Barnes TSX bullet between his left eye and ear. I wanted a Marker.
2013 and 14 got pretty tough for me, and thus much worse for my wife Tonia and our 4 kids. I experienced a major concussion at work while instructing in a shoot house in late 2013, and it seemed as if it was the straw that broke the camel’s back as I had already racked up 7 TBI events in combat or training for combat over the past 25 years. I was now, “All of the above” and maxed out on the medical questionnaires for pain, sleep, suicidal, homicidal, and just plain off the reservation. I was drinking from sun up to sun down. Tonia went screaming for help and by late April 2014 I was admitted for 3 months into the Polytrauma Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic at the James A Haley VA Hospital in Tampa. In doing so, I walked away from everything I had ever known in the military, in the special operations community, as a contractor, and as a small business owner. It meant financial ruin as we would have to start over completely. However, it is silly to say that I, “Lost everything”, when really I have since regained the world, life, a second chance, my family, new friends, my wife, and myself all over again.
This past hunting trip with Black Dagger was the first social outing I’ve been on since leaving everything in Ft Bragg/Fayetteville last year. Moreover, it’s the first social outing with friends I’ve been on in as long as I can remember.
Moving forward now. There comes a point in time when you decide if the things you should and shouldn’t have done, or could, but couldn’t do, and everything you did or didn’t in the past are going to linger in your life as regret moving forward.
Regret is as destructive a force as this boar was. He was rooting up the Strickland’s Ranch. I’m very glad Mrs. Strickland had her own name for him, and that maybe it was even revenge on what he had done to her dogs two weeks prior. I also had a name for him, and that name was “Regret”. I can’t change the past, erase the hurt, or fix the injuries that are permanent, but I can certainly change my point of view.
Black Dagger helped me find this new vantage point and from there I was able to have a different perspective on the past. Thus, when that hog named “Regret” walked into the kill zone, I enjoyed putting a bullet in his head and finishing him once and for all. Good hunting, great fellowship, the best people. Josh
I am a disabled veteran that, by chance, had the privilege of meeting David and Ryan Winters along with all of there volunteers a couple of years ago. Since then David, Ryan and the entire BDHC organization has been an integral part of my physical and psychological rehabilitation. By there initial display of selfless service during my first event with them to all of the Veterans, not just the wounded, and to me, it was obvious to me that these men and volunteers are true Americans and patriots and were sincerely there to help all of us out. They exercised and quickly projected to me a sense of comradery that no other organization has personally shown me since my medical retirement. The same comradery I experienced while serving the Teams in our nations Special Forces units is what has earned them my respect and willingness to continue to push forward with my treatment for the physical and invisible wounds that no other organization has successfully helped me or my family deal with over the past decade. In my families eyes they have help me survive where others have failed to reach out to us and effectively do so.
With the encouragement from David and Ryan, I've participated in a few events during 2014 and now early into 2015. This past weekend was, by far, the most incredible event i have personally experienced since my retirement. Everything was perfect, extremely organized and well planned. From the time we rolled into the "base camp", Ryan was there to greet me (although I did not know he was undercover-I didn't recognize him without his beard, lol.) From there I was introduced to Mike from Operation Outdoor Freedom and was quickly registered for the hunt and shown our sleeping arrangements and introduced to the entire staff that was present along with the fellow Veterans that would be participating in the hunt. Everything was provided for us, we were catered to every possible need that came up....these guys think of everything! Mr. Strickland and his wife were generous enough to allow us to hunt on there property and were amazingly hospitable.
Now to the fun stuff, each of us were paired up with a guide, some were from OOV and the Forestry Service and the BDMHC staff. I was absolutely lucky enough to had been chosen to pair up to magic Mike from OOV who is also a Forest Ranger. Right off the bat I felt comfortable around Mike, he immediately explained to me where we would be hunting from and a brief description of the area. He was very detailed and obviously an extremely knowledgeable hunter and guide, I call him the forest ninja. I absolutely love hunting and the outdoors so I felt right at home..guns and woodline, what more can a guy ask for. The most impressive thing to me was the availability of a variety of rifles and hunting equipment that David, Ryan and the BDMHC had at our disposal along with the ammo selection, tailored to each hunter. Ryan was very knowledgeable on the ballistics and capabilities of those rifles and ammunition and quickly answered all of our questions. These are the small things that allowed me to feel that much more comfortable and confident in this organization.
After each hunt, it was as if we each held our own AAR (After Action Review) with our guides, fellow hunters and volunteers, the kind of "unofficial" AAR that we have come accustomed to from being in the military. Of course when you get a bunch of type triple A (AAA) personalities together, the jokes immediate start pouring in so you better have thick skin...We jokingly teasing each other but really used those humorous "critiques" to improve our hunting skills for the next hunt and to get to know eachother that much better..("breaking the "GUARDED" ice") which i can say did help some of the hunters.
The best part and the part that separates the men from the boys was the cleaning of the harvested! We had some of the best volunteers with us for this part. Initially all I saw were two big camoed up gorillas with knives slicing away and heard reciprocal saws cutting away, like a well choreographed room clearing event. It grabbed my attention and quickly asked if they could teach me. Dave and Joey Evans didn't hesitate to hand me the knives and pursued to talking me through the whole process. I didn't know these guys were brothers until David Winters told me but I can tell you that these are the guys you want on your side when it comes to dressing hogs and deer! It was quite an experience and now have a new skill that I could only have experienced with this organization. After the next hunt a doe was harvested and I asked my guide Mike and a fellow Forestry Ranger to teach me how to properly clean the doe and with there guidance it was quite a detailed experience, not as aromacly interesting as the hog cleaning but never the less an unforgettable experience.
All in all I can share with you that I absolutely had an incredible hunting experience. I had the opportunity to enjoy watching 3 large does come within 20 feet of our stand which was absolutely an incredible sight to see. These beautiful animals are so peaceful and like I told my guide, it was a very relaxing to enjoy just watching them feed and walk around us as if we were not there and not a threat to them, very therapeutic.
Once again I want to thank everyone that made this hunting opportunity possible. If I left your name off of this review, forgive me it was not intentional. Mr. Strickland and your family for allowing the use of your property, Mr. David Hunt from OPERATION OUTDOOR FREEDOM, my guide and forest ninja Mike, Glenn from the Forestry volunteers, the Evans brothers for the awesome skills in cleaning the harvested, the COOK for the amazing steaks and meals, Amy for talking to me about another possible opportunity with wounded veterans in the near future, all my fellow hunting veterans that shared there person events with us, the SOCOM Care Coalition for adding me to the list at the last moment, thx Hiriam and last but not least David and Ryan Winters for all that you continue to do for all veterans, no just the wounded...."Leave No Man Mehind"!
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT HUNT!
Very well-run organization with a lot of heart. The services provided are integral to the lives of wounded Veteran's.
This organization is amazing. I had the opportunity to go on a hunting trip with them and a few other vets and I couldn't ask for anything better. Very caring and down to earth and willing to help with anything you need help with.
Black Dagger is an amazing organization that provides a wonderful service to our wounded veterans. I've seen first hand what this organization has done for our service men and women and I'm honored to have been able to work with the wonderful people that provide these services to our veterans and their families. I would strongly recommend Black Dagger Military Hunt Club to anyone looking for a quality Nonprofit organization to support.
Black Dagger is an organization that offers extraordinary opportunities for our veterans. Each member of Black Dagger shows such caring and concern for our veterans. A reputable organization like this is exactly what helps the veterans in a positive way. I am eager to volunteer for this great organization when I am in Florida next time.
I am a therapist and work with the veterans on a daily basis. I have had the pleasure for the last several years of working with Black Dagger MHC. They wear their hearts on their sleeves and go above and beyond what their mission statement says. They are passionate about what they do and it shows. Their dedication and love for the veterans knows no bounds.
This organization is one of the most reputable in the state of Florida because of their unwavering support of our nation's finest. Their dedication goes beyond the outings and events, and deep into the moral fabric of the military ethos. With integrity and a strong foundation, Black Dagger stands at the front line of awareness for suicide prevention, traumatic brain injury, PTSD, loss of limbs, and Acute Stress Disorder. As a volunteer, I have had the opportunity to assist others and make a positive impact in their lives. Mentorship, fellowship, and a strong connection with the outdoors through recreational therapy are the mission objectives. Black Dagger Military Hunt Club Inc. Mission Accomplished! I proudly stand at your service to continue the mission. Your message of perseverance in the face of adversity is an inspiration to anyone who has the pleasure of your services.
Black Dagger is a state of the art charity that assists Service Members and Wounded Veterans spanning all generations, building that bond between us. Dave Winters and his team of all volunteer experts utilize state of the art technology and good old fashioned hands on care and personal relationships to assist the men and women to find that "new normal". I have personally witnessed them guide the blind to "see", and others with both visible and invisible traumatic wounds do what others said would be impossible. All of this has been made possible wih an operating budget consistently under 6% as he and others DO NOT take a salary.
Thank you again for what you and your team have done for myself and other combat wounded veterans around the country!
Black Dagger has done amazing job providing therapeutic hunting and shooting programs for our wounded veterans and active duty service members. Their goal is not to get publicity or recognition for themselves but to provide worthwhile experiences to promote a sense of camraderie and normalcy to our injured. They seek out the expertise of those in the adapted sports, assistive technology and recreation therapy fields to maximize the shooters participation, functional independence and self-esteem in the safest and most dignified way. Their dedication to the injured and to the program continually shows in everything they do.
I had the opportunity to attend the Black Dagger Top Shot event this year in Fl. I had an amazing time and would recommend anyone to support this group of people volunteering their time to make this happen for us veterans. I am a service connected amputee and find things like this is what keeps me motivated. Thank you to the donors, organization, and volunteers!
I was introduced to the Black Dagger Military Hunt by a customer who is a member at the Marina I manage in St. Pete. After meeting with Dave Winter, I was extremly impressed wth his care and concern for our veterans. We have had two events and the care and concern that this group displays is gratifying to all that participate. It is about the vets, not the donations. I would recommend this group to anyone who wishes to truly make a difference.

Black Dagger MHC is one of those great non-profits that are all about making sure veterans get the service they need regardless of which organization is behind it. Dave says all the time, "its all about the veterans". Black Dagger doesn't only serve their veterans they help other organizations serving veterans build and grow as well. They have supported ours and we support theirs. I recently attended and helped at one of their Clay Shoots and it truly is gratifying to see the veterans work past their now limitations and pick up an activity that they once loved. To some shooting a gun would not be therapeutic, but to this crowd it is! It gives them back control and confidence in more ways you can imagine. I was impressed that all participants have been cleared through proper channels to progress to this stage before coming out and while on the range they were clearly and methodically instructed on the rules while holding a firearm. Truly a top notch organization on the rise!
I volunteered at the Top Shot Heroes event in 2012 and 2013, and the experience was amazing. BDMHC does an incredible job giving our veterans with disabilities an opportunity to do what some thought they would never be able to do again... And that, is priceless!
Thank you BDMHC for your unconditional and selfless devotion to our veterans.
Helping volunteer with the Black Dagger team in support of the trap shooting competition during the 2013 Wheelchair Games held in Tampa was one of my most rewarding experiences. I was also lucky enough to participate in a couple of hog hunts and dove hunts. All were run extremely professionally by the Black Dagger team.
I am a 70% Disabled Veteran and have been volunteering with Black Dagger Military Hunt Club for three years. Black Dagger goes above and beyond in helping all veterans as well as disabled first responders in regaining their self esteem and sense of worth. They do this by providing the veterans an opportunity to do something they were trained to do (marksmanship) or grew up doing (hunting or fishing). This organization operates with next to zero overhead and virtually all donations go back into the program for the benefit of those it serves - the disabled veteran, police officer, or fire fighter. Kudos to the men and women who run this organization and more so to those it serves.
You won’t find many non-profits with this much enthusiasm and dedication to our warriors. Moreover, they are fiscally responsible with their donations and how they use it. A credit to this organizations leadership and commitment to excellence.
As a 3 tour ARMY service connected 100 per cent disabled Vietnam Veteran, I became a volunteer and donor with this group 3 years ago. This organization does so much for our wounded warriors helping them re adapt to their lives after returning home injured in America's wars. This organization, which is CHRISTIAN based, does so much more on the local level to help our veterans through their programs than many of the big ones who advertise on television for donations. Unlike other groups helping our vet's, BDMHC utilizes 98% of all donated funds to help our wounded warriors in their programs. No one receives a salary. All participants volunteer their time to help. In the military we learn on day 1 that we never leave anyone behind. BDMHC exemplifies this. I would invite anyone in the community that wants to give back to our combat vets to look into both volunteering and financially assisting this great organization. Dave Winters and his staff get a thumbs up from this disabled vet and MANY others.
Black Dagger takes serving veterans to the next level. Their provide in-depth peer-to-peer mentoring program through outdoor activities. From hunting, fishing, clay shoots, range competitions, and more they have a way to get plugged in as a veteran or a volunteer.
I absolutely love Black Dagger, the purpose and vision and the people who plan and organize the events. It makes a big difference when you really know the heart and minds of the people behind non profits. We are so proud to be a part and look forward to seeing Black Dagger grow mightily.
I've been a volunteer with Black Dagger for 2 years. I was told about this organization through a friend of mine from another non profit organization working with the same purpose . Black Dagger Military Hunt Club is a great organization that gives back to the men and women of the armed forces by having hunting trips , fishing trips, and much more . The men and women who volunteer do not get paid for their services. We get paid with great results, smiles on faces, relief, and a bond . 97% of all proceeds go towards the veterans and strictly veterans.
#HonorThem
I've been volunteering for Black Dagger Military Hunt Club for about 2 1/2 years. I learned about them from a coworker who was participating in one of their events and invited me as his guest. I took photos of the guys and gals competing and a couple days later I received an email from one of their members asking to use my photos and the rest is history. The interaction between the veterans, no matter when they served, is great. There's not enough space to explain what it means to them to be able to get back out and compete, hunt and fish. BDMHC enables them to do that no matter what their disability. Volunteering is supposed to be fun and I have said I'm not sure who has more fun at our events, the veterans or me photographing them.
I have been a volunteer with Black Dagger for as long as the organization has been serving Vets. I am also a disabled vet. And I am the in bound Secretary of the organization. I often provide my personal weapons to Black Dagger shots. I run a monthly cay bird clinic for Black Dagger. I bring 20 plus of my shotguns out and let a small group (usually 5) shot either Trap, Skeet, 5 stand or Sporting Clays. I provide basic assistance in how to play the different games but let the shooters find their own way to succeed. There is nothing like the look on these guys faces after a few hours on the range. Join us in our efforts to help these great Americans.
I have been volunteering with Black Dagger Military Hunt Club for 2 years. This organization takes our vets on hunting trips, fishing trips, a day at the shooting range. This organization give back 97+%; of tour donation to the vets. There is no paid staff. We are all paid with smiles, hugs and kisses from our amazing vets. The smiles on our vets faces is priceless.
