Programs: Mental health services - westside provides mental health services and support to 1,720 clients, which include children, youth, adults and families through its crisis clinic, adult outpatient services, assertive community treatment (act), child youth and family outpatient services, calkids, ajani, and special education and mental health partnership programs. The 17,138 total services provided include outreach, assessment, intervention, individual, family and group therapy, psychiatric medication, case management, linkages to community resources, skill-building and psychoeducation, and consultation.
drug treatment services - westside's methadone detoxification and maintenance programs provide intervention to opiate to 374 clients which include addicted individuals with the goal of reducing their dependency on heroin. Of the total 93,365 services provided include daily dispensing of methadone, supervised counseling, and hiv prevention and testing services. The westside substance abuse prevention program educated high-risk youth about the effects of drugs and alcohol to help them make positive, informed lifestyle choices.
hiv/aids services - westside provides services and support to 157 adults who are affected by hiv/aids through its aids case management and homecare, center of excellence/southeast partnership for health programs. Over 6,988 services are provided which include outreach, risk assessment, hiv resources, hiv testing, counseling, case management, medication and treatment adherence support, and linkages to medical care and community resources.
no violence alliance (nova) - the nova program aims to address the violence plaguing san francisco, particularly the significantly high-crime communities of bayview - hunter's point, western addition, and the mission district. This program provides intensive services to 212 violent ex-offenders to aid in their reentry into the community and reduces recidivism rates. The engagement case managers provide these services in the office as well as in the field at places such as neighborhood court, sf county jail, and other community program sites. Black infant health (bih) - the bih program is a culturally-specific and evidence-based group intervention intended to improve the lives of 91 african american women and their infants and to decrease the black-white disparities of participants in the program. Within a culturally affirming environment and honoring the unique history of african american women, the bih program uses a group-based approach with complimentary client-centered case management to help women develop life skills, learn strategies for reducing stress, and build social support. Each woman culminates her participation in the program by developing her own individual life plan to guide her continued progress after bih.
