I volunteered at UniversalGiving for three months as an intern. It is a great experience for me. I am able to learn a lot and People are kind and helpful. UniversalGiving is an organization with a true commitment to excellence and making a positive impact on the world.
If you want to get involved in a cause that you are passionate about let Universal Giving be your guide. They have done the research and vetting and can direct you to a reputable organization that will leverage your contribution to maximum benefit. Whether you are a volunteer or donor, UG will connect you with an organization that is making demonstrable positive impact. Pamela Hawley and her team are selflessly driven to make a difference!
Universal giving sets the gold standard for giving and volunteering. Their nonprofit partners around the world are so well vetted and trusted. It makes getting involved so easy!
As we all know here there is a multitude of non-profit organizations that are focused on doing great work for meaningful causes. What I feel is unique about UniversalGiving is the combination of 3 important elements. There is a vehicle for organizations, large and small, to make a well managed charitable contribution. For people who are called to serve but can’t or don’t want to give monetarily, there is a beautiful the opportunity to volunteer and give of your time. What is so unique about this is where the third element comes in. The passion and authenticity of Pamela, the Founder, and her staff. UniversalGiving truly understands the value and nutrients gained from serving others and have created an opportunity for all of us to find a cause, not only for us to give, but as part of that for us to get back, to receive that warmth and inner joy of helping others.
I appreciate UniversalGiving for creating an “ecosystem” of compassion that nourishes each element.
Impact impact impact! UniversalGiving has revolutionized the way we can support nonprofits - embracing the way our generation thinks and interacts. Working with Pamela and her team, your donation (time, money, support) will directly impact people in our community. This is a truly visionary approach!
I can’t say enough positive things about this wonderful organization. The CEO and founder, Pamela Hawley, has truly poured her heart and soul into this company and it shows. With the abundant amount of donation opportunities presented to me yearly, Universalgiving takes the guess work out of it. They match me with organizations that are near and dear to my heart and vet these organizations and make me feel secure knowing my money will indeed be put to good use. Highly recommended!
A wonderful organization with such a hard working team, all of which enjoy helping each other to better themselves which, in turn, helps them better help the world. Their vetting process is one of the most strict so anyone donating knows their money and time are going to truly helpful organizations.
UniversalGiving's social enterprise model as well as their unique QualityModel which ensures thorough due diligence is conducted with any nonprofit they partner with has allowed it to truly scale giving back in line with their vision of "Creat[ing] a World Where Giving and Volunteering Are a Natural Part of Everyday Life." In addition, they are truly able to live out their values through the genuine company culture they have created amongst their domestic and international team.

I am an intern for UniversalGiving, and it has given me the opportunity to grow so much professionally and personally. The CEO is always so approachable and constantly shows gratitude towards her employees. The mission and vision of UniversalGiving is truly reflected through the company's culture, and all of the employees are genuine, friendly, and devoted individuals.
UniversalGiving is such a unique company. They not only provide great ways to volunteer and donate for a range of causes, but they also make sure to carefully vet each non-profit that they partner with using a 24 stage model which they've created themselves (and which has been a product of the CEO's own volunteer efforts and research!). Vetting is so important in giving people the confidence to get involved with a cause. I also admire how UniversalGiving has partnered with many companies (including Fortune 500 companies) to help coordinate and scale their CSR programs. It's really fantastic how this company has been so creative and efficient in encouraging social impact all around the world. Can't wait to see what they do next.
UniversalGiving is fantastic!!! UniversalGiving provides great opportunities for donating and volunteering internationally. I especially appreciate that each opportunity is vetted by a 24-Step Quality Model. I love that UniversalGiving allows me to support projects and organizations that I can trust are doing impactful work.
The idea that you can make positive change happen in many parts of our world, sometimes the most vulnerable, is the goal of UniversalGiving. The mission includes the importance of corporate social responsibility, and also connects volunteers with wonderful opportunities that have been fully vetted. This is an outstanding organization run by a passionate CEO whose verve and determination inculcates her hardworking team and inspires them to be the best versions of themselves.
I have absolutely loved supporting and being a part of UniversalGiving. The leadership, vision, excellence, and impact of its mission are incredible. I highly recommend getting involved in the many ways available including volunteering, supporting, and championing different causes all around the world. What a fantastic Nonprofit that sets a high bar and creates much global goodness!
As a person who has only recently become involved, it is really great to see a company like UniversalGiving be so dedicated to helping others get off their feet. I know that if I was trying to set my passion into something bigger, I would love to have the support which you give your clients!!
Universal Giving is such a wise concept to have all these NGO's under one umbrella where they have been vetted and I have the peace of mind that 100% of the donations goes directly to the cause. This truly deserves the attention of those caring to help people globally.
It is a great environment to be part of, doing good all over the world with a tea which is from all parts of the world. I have worked with UniversalGiving for several months now and it is enchanting to see how love, kindness and positivity is manifstated across the whole team.
I interned at UniversalGiving back in 2014 while I was in college. I got to work with its founder, Pamela Hawley, pretty closely and learned about all the hard work UniversalGiving was doing to help facilitate Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives for dozens of Fortune 100 companies. Pamela is a fearless leader that pushed me to become a better professional and human being. I know UniversalGiving is working hard to help shape CSR strategy and connect thousands of volunteers with causes from all over the world.
It was a very great experience to volunteer at UniversalGiving. I enjoyed working with an amazing team.
I joined UniversalGiving in January 2019 as a Salesforce Administrator Intern and its been a great journey . I got guidance at each and every step. Thanks UniversalGiving for everything.
Thankful for my volunteer experience! Always glad to work with nonprofits with such global purpose as UniversalGiving! Wonderful team.
I first got involved with UniversalGiving as a volunteer, then officially joined the global team as staff. UniversalGiving is a special organization that follows a true social enterprise model, offering both a free public website and CSR services to top corporations.
UniversalGiving offers volunteer opportunities in various business units and attracts top talent. The team is comprised of compassionate, talented, and driven individuals, who all believe in the mission and vision of this organization. The CEO and Founder is extremely passionate about the cause, and her passion radiates across the organization. UniversalGiving also provides excellent opportunities for professional growth, while valuing work-life balance. I strongly recommend this organization to anyone looking to make a positive impact and to become a part of an international team of dedicated volunteers and staff.
Great company to work with! The CEO treats her employees like family and very motivational. Employees are so driven and dedicated to reaching their mission which is to help "To connect people to quality giving and volunteer opportunities worldwide." Pamela Hawley, the CEO at UniversalGiving is the definition of a leader. She is committed, caring, inspirational and motivational --- she'll give the positive vibe in the workplace. :) Thank you Pamela and UniversalGiving!
I have followed the work of UniversalGiving with keen interest since 2004 when I met the CEO at a training workshop. I have greatly admired the consistency, dedication and ethical values that I have come to appreciate as its hallmark. Most importantly, I have been inspired by the tireless orientation to learning with which the personnel pursue their responsibility. I wish I'd clone them or distill their approach to help influence other players in the non-profit sector.
For the past three years, I have served on the NGO Advisor team, where our NGO staff outreaches to NGOs. This is where we identify outstanding local leaders on the ground — NGOS that many people don’t know about — and help raise awareness about them. Many of these constitute unsung heroes whose mission, vision, objectives, strategies and actions amount to lifelines for some of the most vulnerable. Given the accomplishments of such entities, they deserve close attention and robust support. UniversalGiving uniquely finds them and supports them. It’s an honor to be a part of this sincere and rigorous mission.
Part of what distinguishes UniversalGiving is that 100% of contributions that it receives GOES TO THE NGO PARTNERS IT SUPPORTS. UniversalGiving DOES NOT TAKE ANY CUT. IT ALL GOES TO THE IDENTIFIED TOP NGOS ON THEIR PLATFORM.
Notwithstanding this uncommon discipline, UniversalGivings performance record speaks eloquently for itself and it has built a great community of staffers whose socialization on the job raise the bar on the efficiency and effectiveness of nonprofit operation. It is most humbling to be part of this enriching journey so far and I am very excited about our signature commitment to keep striving to augment our donors return on investment for a better future.
Non-profit organizations has become one of the cornerstones in helping and supporting families and children to overcome the obstacles that may be otherwise be difficult for them to overcome
As a former NGO Services intern, I am proud to have spent my summer working at UniversalGiving. The company’s model creatively addresses community development, giving it the ability to engage in several different approaches to philanthropy. Not only did this holistic model expose me to the wealth of approaches that exist, but it also instructed me on the best practices of NGO operations. During our frequent meetings, the interns participated in an ongoing discussion about how to our jobs better. Additionally, our CEO regularly kept us up to date on the organization’s direction and progress. Throughout my time there, I was constantly learning about my role as an intern and a change maker. The office was full of incredibly supportive and good-willed individuals who really believe in the organization's mission and who want to see you succeed. Pamela, the CEO, is one of the most kind-hearted people I've ever met and really made the effort to be available and present in the office.
At first I struggled to appreciate the value of the work I was assigned to do. Much of it was computer-based and didn’t initially resonate with my original expectation of community giving. Our leadership, however, went to great lengths to emphasize the importance of our work to the organization and challenged us to adopt a more positive mindset when we found ourselves in a lull. It was a difficult ask but I am glad that they were there to help me overcome my own obstacles.
The only thing I would advise them to improve is the way they advertise available positions at the company. Any veteran knows that NGO work is not exactly glamorous. But as it focuses less on salary and prestige and more on its mission and its people, UniversalGiving indeed offers an authentic and fulfilling working experience for anyone looking to make a difference.
Working at UniversalGiving has been a great experience. The team is very passionate and dedicated. Wonderful people. The company is very innovative in the way that it approaches the nonprofit model and I believe UniversalGiving can serve as an example for many nonprofits/social enterprises to come.
UniversalGiving provides great value to those interested in making the world a better place. Simply put, not all NGOs are effective and efficient. By vetting NGOs from all over the world, UniversalGiving makes it easy to feel confident that the NGO you're supporting--with your money, volunteer hours, or both--is relieving suffering.
Working with the team at Universal Giving is inspiring and rewarding. I especially appreciate the focus on the end donation beneficiary as well as the employees. Every day brings new challenges which this team manages with professionalism, cause dedication and team spirit rarely seen. As it continues to scale and adopt more NGOs, Universal Giving is becoming featured in Forbes, CSM and recognized as the integral part of the donors community. The opportunities in the non-profit space are enormous! The creative approach to problem solution and new ideation practices with which new issues are tackled is something the team is proud of. I'd recommend working at Universal Giving to my colleagues and friends.
I love work with UniversalGiving. Every one here is super nice. I have learned a lot as I start my design career here. Super grateful for the opportunity and good experience.
I had a great experience as an intern at UnviersalGIving. The staff is always motivated behind a common purpose to make positive change in the world, and as an intern, I felt as if I was a real part of that. I valued the experiences I got there that aren't typical of all internships; I was entrusted with real responsibilities and always kept in the loop with people of different departments. I think the takeaway from an interaction with UniversalGiving is passion: everybody there has it, and if you have it when you come onto the team, it is noticed, nurtured, and utilized. It is in that way that organizations like UniversalGiving can make the world a better place.
UniversalGiving attracts energetic and dedicated staff. The CEO's drive inspires everyone to give their best. The organization is very efficient, and offers great services to corporate clients and individuals. Its website is easy to navigate, offers a wide range of volunteer and gift choices, and 100% of donations go directly to projects. Volunteers and staff gain great opportunity to improve their professional skills and grow within the organization. The CEO is very supportive of staff development over the long-term, even beyond time spent with the organization (I have now known her for 7 years). Staff is passionate, diverse, friendly and supportive. I've personally experienced the results of this organization by working with my peers as and learning how we can most effectively serve businesses' philanthropic interests.
Initially, I timidly came into my Marketing internship at UG with no prior experience in the realm of marketing or social media and did not know what to expect. In the course of the past couple of months, however, I have not only learned about my professional and personal strengths and skillset through the work I have been doing, but have also been given the tools to take advantage of these as I move forward. This summer, I was able to partake in engaging activities and projects such as analyzing social media/marketing trends, learning how to utilize project management tools efficiently, outreaching to organizations and establishing mutually beneficial and strategic partnerships. UniversalGiving prides itself in its positive work culture and team environment; everyday, the values and missions of UniversalGiving were so apparent in all of the work we did together, and individually. Working with the Marketing Team on a daily basis as well as being able to collaborate with the CEO, Pamela Hawley, who also took the time out of her busy days to guide me through my internship kept my work invigorating, challenging and meaningful, and I absolutely loved bonding with the entire UG team. I feel truly privileged and grateful to have had such an amazing internship experience at UniversalGiving and I look forward to continuing my work in spreading UG's mission of creating a world where volunteering and giving are a natural part of everyday life!
An innovative nonprofit involved in both corporate and nonprofit services, UniversalGiving is not afraid to breach the gaps between fields. Committed to the spirit of giving and international social responsibility, UG balances excellence and service. As an intern, I was happy to have the privilege of completing projects for the wonderful leader and CEO Pamela Hawley; her energy, confidence, kindness, and diligence is contagious. As a student seeking a career in social justice, UG was a wonderful place to explore the CSR, nonprofit, and corporate philanthropy sectors. I'm happy to have been surrounded by like-minded people passionate about social issues and service.
I was so delighted to be an intern and to be a part of team at Universal Giving. It felt so inspiring and happy when ı first walked in and met the team. They have been super helping. I loved working in there!!!
This organization is so amazing and inspiring. Every team member shows pure dedication towards helping people around the world. Additionally, the team is very diverse and includes people from around the world. Everything the organization does is targeted to making it more well known in order to help more people.
UniversalGiving has an inspirational mission and being a part of the organization in helping out can get fun. There is much to learn and get experience in and if you are lucky to be on the Product Development team, you will get a chance to work with a team of highly dedicated individuals who knows how to deliver quality results.
I cannot give it 5-stars for one reason only: the long hours. Expect to work overtime frequently due to heavy task assignments and deadlines given and quite possibly, this could be many 65-70+ hour weeks. You have to be dedicated but if you do, you will gain much skills out of the work you do and as long as your business unit leads are correctly managing the team, you will hopefully not have to worry about the overtime work.
I have enjoyed so much working in this organization for about a month! Our CEO was very enthusiastic, energetic, and kind. I have learnt a lot from her. It was also very nice to meet a lot of people from all over the world who have been very nice to me. I have had such a totally amazing experience!
UniversalGiving is an organization with a true commitment to excellence and making a positive impact on the world. I have had a wonderful relationship with UniversalGiving for years and cannot stress enough how hardworking and dedicated the employees are to the organizations mission. My experience with UniversalGiving has been overwhelmingly positive and I would highly recommend becoming involved with the organization professionally and utilizing the services they provide.
UniversalGiving is an organization with the utmost dedication to its vision and values. I am pleased to be part of an organization that values integrity in all of its interactions. I started my journey with UniversalGiving this last summer as an intern in their NGO Business Unit, assisting with their Quality Model vetting. This was a valuable experience that resulted in my current employment as an Executive Assistant for the Office of the CEO. Working directly with our gracious CEO, Pamela Hawley, I have grown as a professional in the non profit sector. Pamela provides growth experiences and exceptional support. She is one of the kindest women I have known, with a heart for giving.
UniversalGiving donates 100% of your donation to the opportunity you choose to support. When one gives we want them to be ensured that their donation reaches the people, animals, and ecosystems in need. I believe UniversalGiving is an ideal charitable organization to support.
Joined as a QA/Web Intern
UniversalGiving as a Nonprofit:

Each volunteer/intern is really valued by the management
Continuous learning
Positive environment
Team- Energetic Enthusiasts
Committed to the community of Giving
I have been working at UniversalGiving for the last 2 months and a half and it has been a great learning experience for me. I joined the organization to know more about the non profit world and put together my passion for social impact and my work.
I couldn't ask for more generous people than the ones I work with. Everybody is extremely helpful and friendly. The CEO really passes on her believes and kindness to the team.
The people at UniversalGiving are very nice, smart, and helpful. UG has a team-based culture with employee participation on all levels. Moreover, Pamela, CEO of UG, is very kind and has a great personality, with great respect for employees and volunteers. I feel very grateful to be a part of UG.
It is a great and exceptional experience so far since I started my internship at UG. The team is super helpful and warm. You will get sufficient help from everyone in the team including the CEO, and everyone is never too busy to help you:) The senior employees on the team are professional, knowledgeable and helpful. That means you can learn new and necessary skills required for working in NGOs fast and easily. We also have a very upbeat and positive vibe within the team. Everyone has the same goals and believes in our mission, and that makes us cooperate seamlessly! And the most important, our CEO Pamela shares her great personality and spirit with all the team members. She recognizes your every little progress and always gives kind compliments to all of us. She is patient, loving and inspiring. We all love her so much:) And the positive feedbacks are what makes me keep progressing and confident everyday.
I had been working the Universal Giving for about 1 month as an Executive Assistant intern. I think that this intern was beneficial for me for three reasons. First, I enhanced my English skill. In this company, there were many opportunities to use English, for example asking my coworkers, writing reports, and talking with my coworker. These things made my English skills better. Second, I understood general skills for working. I had the experience, which my supervisor fell behind schedule because I changed my plan for working without reporting for her. At this time, I was aware that reporting and asking for my supervisor was truly important. I learned a lot of something like that. Therefore, I think joining this internship was one of the best way to obtain these skills. Finally, this Non-Profit-company had a variety of the staffs whose backgrounds were different each other, so this internship was good for sharing different opinions. For instance, my supervisor and coworkers talked their backgrounds and their future goals. These talk stimulated my mindset. To conclude, this internship enhanced my language skill, general business skills. Also, I think that the internship helped to open the door to the next career step.
I loved my colleagues at UG! Very motivated, kind, intelligent people. UG has an inspiring mission, and given the major progress toward a new website, its impact may increase greatly in the near future. The greatest experiences I had at UG were spending time with the other volunteers / staff, learning a lot about the CSR industry, and being given many important tasks to work on. Pamela really wants to give people opportunities, and she certainly gave me plenty of room to do serious, high level work that opened new doors for me in my career search.
You get out what you put in at UG—from my experience, being enthusiastic and actively seeking extra responsibility paid off.
As a junior web developer, I enjoyed the opportunity to hone my skills and work in a team-based environment. The organization culture is great, the CEO is dynamic, personable, and effective, and the location couldn't be better. However, because UniversalGiving's employees were largely volunteers, there was a high turnover rate and therefore only a few senior employees. I know they were addressing this problem while I was there (Summer 2015), and I'm sure it's improved since then!
It was really grate experience with working with Universal Giving team for two months. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to join Universal-Giving as an Internship student.
I could learn how to create volunteer opportunities for everyone all over the world.
Based on my own experiences, The Universal-Giving is an amazing organization full of passionate people who care deep about people they serve.
Thank you so much.
The environment, people, CEO Pamela Hawley are one of a kind. I enjoyed learning about the transactions of the nonprofits, the alliances, and the projects that they're involved in. During my experience the people were friendly, my boss was always available to answer my questions. I will never forget this experience.
A HUGE plus: The place to work is amazing, comfortable and very dynamic.
I started with Universalgiving as an intern and was promoted as a team lead. Since I joined, I have been enjoyed working with colleagues and eager to learn new technology. Universalgiving provides a positive, flexible, and independent working atmosphere. Its office environment is modern, stylish, and well managed. Every new employee or volunteer will be easy to build good relationship with co-workers, managers, and CEO. Universalgiving always open doors and creates opportunities for interns and volunteers. In addition, I want to highlight the CEO of Universalgiving is an active and energetic philanthropist. She is very enthusiastic about giving and helping the people in need. Working with the CEO is not only a great experience for learning business skills but also a role model of positive values.
I interned as a graphic designer this summer with UniversalGiving and it was a very enlightening experience. I got to work on graphics and other design related tasks, but I also learned a lot about the non profit world and how it works. The work environment was very friendly and laid back and it was a pleasure working so closely with the CEO and other interns at UniversalGiving
UniversalGiving is a innovative organization with a kindhearted team that's fully committed to their mission. As a CSR Intern I had a great opportunity to learn from UG management who went well out of their way to teach me and never forgot to be grateful for the time and work I contributed. I grew intellectually and personally through the internship and am fortunate to have contributed to the impact UniversalGiving is making across the globe.
A wonderful organization and experience.
Since I first started my process for internship, the Ug team was really helpful and friendly. I couldn't be happier to work on a organization where the main role is to provide a better place for people who needs help around the wordl. Universal giving care not only for education but also with animals, health, conflicts around the word and much more. I'm super excited to be part of this team.
I very much enjoyed interning at UniversalGiving. I was able to obtain substantial professional development experience and loved having an environment that was built for me to succeed. Team work is a major tenet of UniversalGiving which helps make the organization great.
I had a terrific experience interning for UniversalGiving. I took on the social media role and was given lots of autonomy . Everyone is friendly and handles themselves very professionally. The company is well run and with great guidance from ceo Pamela Hawley. I was able to do a variety of work using salesforce and other tools to help accomplish my goals. Team meetings are instructive and informative. Benefits include randomly receiving free snacks and guest lectures.
This summer I was the Development Intern at UniversalGiving. The people who work at UniversalGiving are simply amazing: they are dedicated, passionate, talented and all share the same mindset of making a change in this world. I did this internship alongside my Master degree, which was perfectly doable as UniversalGiving is very flexible. I could even work remotely in the first couple of weeks since I had class across the country, which I really appreciated. All in all: I had a really good time!
This summer I was a Search Engine Operations (SEO) itern for UniversalGiving. The experience has been very empowering. UniversalGiving entrusted me with responsibility on some really cool stuff. I was able to manage parts of our google Adwords campaign (the search results on google that come up at the top and say ad). I also was put in charge of compiling a report on the user flow through our website. This included where people get on our site, how they do, what steps they take, when they donate/volunteer, and anything else I found interesting. I also wrote a couple articles for our website. Lastly, I did some work for the CEO, mostly administrative entry/ due diligence. The work I've done has helped me build a lot of skills and has been very interesting.
The people who work at Universalgiving are amazing. They are all very kind, skilled, and intelligent people who are very committed to Universalgiving's mission. Working in that environment has been enjoyable, empowering, and inspiring. It has really helped me grow. The leadership team is full of good communicators. Can't say enough good stuff about them.
I was a Corporate Social Responsibility Intern for UniversalGiving this summer. I knew about CSR briefly before entering the position, but this internship taught me so much more than I would've ever imagined. The team at UG is amazing. They are all young and intelligent individuals who care deeply about creating a better world. My manager Zoe was so sweet and so great at explaining my tasks to me. She was also very understanding when I had to call in sick one week. The internship was great because I had the chance to intern there part-time while still making money at another part-time job I had. The job taught me about CSR on such a broad-scale. Because UG is a non-profit, I had the opportunity to learn and research about the CSR programs used at various large Fortune 500 companies. This gave me insight into the field while giving me the opportunity to make direct contact with these companies through outreaches. I gained professional skills while learning about what I did and did not want in a future career. The central location of UG also allowed me to experience what it would be like working in a big city like San Francisco. One of the most unique aspects of working at UG is the close contact the interns have with the CEO, Pamela. She is a very busy individual, but she takes the time to personally get to know all of the interns, and that means a lot. Overall, UniversalGiving is a great organization, with a great cause, great leadership, and a great team.
This summer I was an Administrative and Operations Intern at UniversalGiving. I was able to learned more about the nonprofit world and how they operate as well as social entrepreneurship. Additionally, the team members were helpful, supportive, hardworking and friendly. Overall, It was a wonderful experience.
I have really valued being a part of the UniversalGiving Team this summer working as a marketing intern. Working at UG gave me some great background on social entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, international development, nonprofit management and operations and so much more! UG's mission and vision inspires me and I loved getting the opportunity to be a part of UG's incredible team!
Going into my first internship, I didn’t expect to be handed much responsibility, but the projects I worked on at UniversalGiving this summer directly impacted and benefited the company. Not only was I given responsibility, but I was given a voice for input and suggestions as well as creative freedom. It was so great knowing I was giving my time to a greater cause this summer.
I was an Executive Assistant Intern at UniversalGiving this past summer, and it has been a fantastic experience. Pamela Hawley, the CEO and Founder, has been the most optimistic, caring, and gracious boss that I have ever worked under. She always points out hard work ethic and is unbelievably thankful for the work we do for her. The work itself was not your typical executive assistant work. I was exposed to important material for the company, such as strategic plans and 10 year projects, and I genuinely felt that I was valued as an intern for this company.
I started my journey with UniversalGiving as a Marketing Intern and then return as Development Intern. The organization and the team has been very motivating and encouraging that helped me to enhance my professional skills. Pamela Hawley, the CEO has also been very understanding and she customized my internship according to my needs. She has been extremely supportive throughout and has been mentoring me personally since the begining. UniversalGiving is a great organization and everyone who works there are extremely passionate about what they do. It is a great learning hub for those who wants corporate experience and are passionate to contribute to the society.
I worked at Universalgiving as an Executive assistant Intern for 4 months. it was such a great time working with coworkers who were very kind and friendly to me all the time. Even though English is not my first language, they didn't hesitant to help me out, and I always felt free to ask them questions and communicate with them. Moreover, I developed my abilities to work at a company and cooperate with colleagues. Working at UG was one of the best experiences ever.
My two month internship as an Executive Assistant at UniversalGiving was a wonderful experience. Each team member was very motivated, friendly and willing to help. I was one of their international interns, which means that English is not my mother tongue. And I am very thankful that they had so much patience with me on the one hand and challenged me on the other hand. Further I've never felt at any point like 'just' an intern. From the first day I felt integrated and as a part of their team. I worked close with each of them, even with the CEO, who is such a positive, motivating and inspiring person. I learned so much during my internship and it was really a pleasure to work with all of them.
I'm had worked in UG for two months for my internship. It was quite enjoyable experience. The office is motivated and positive. As their slogan said , Give you 100%. The coworkers are so friendly and enthusiastic. Impressively, the Boss is very nice and kind, she always inspires me, and makes me believe I can do it better. I'm glad to made a good decision!
UniversalGiving is run by an enthusiastic group of people with a strong work ethic and real dedication to making a difference. For interns, it's important to speak up about what interests you and what you want to accomplish during your time with the organization, but as long as you do that, the sky is the limit!
I had the priveledge of working at UniversalGiving heading up their NGO department team in 2014. The founder, Pamela Hawley, and the entire UniversalGiving team is so passionate and dedicated - which is what drives the organisation. UG helps people to help others. You can't be anything less than inspired working with them. I had an absolute ball and learnt so much during this experience.
I had a wonderful time working in UniversalGiving. During the internship period, I learned a lot hand on skills through doing variety of tasks which were assigned by the manager. Tasks were not simple as fetching coffees and copying documents. What I did everyday in work was to have a big impact to the society and organization. There are plenty of new tasks and challenges in everyday work and the colleagues are very supportive to help you if you have difficulties in your work.
Pamela is very passionate about what she is doing by providing a platform for people to help more people in need. I am very thankful that she taught me to be better everyday in work and gave me a lot of life advice throughout my three months internship period.
In general, it is a great place if you want to work in nonprofit industry and make positive impact to the world.
UniversalGiving was incredibly generous in offering me a part-time internship, as I am still in high school and only available for a small portion of the day. When I first started I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, and they really helped me stand on my own two feet. This experience has been above and beyond what I expected. They have given me various opportunities to figure out where I succeed. I cannot recommend UniversalGiving enough! I continue to learn every day I spend in the office. One of the many benefits is how closely we all work with the CEO. She is so passionate about her company and all of her employees. Her love for her work shines through in her relationships with everyone.
Inspired by UniversalGiving's success in connecting funders, volunteers, and international communities in need, I sent a letter requesting to ask a few questions of the CEO and Founder, Pamela Hawley.
Pamela was incredibly gracious and accepted the request. We had a short, sweet, engaging, and inspiring conversation about social sector entrepreneurship. She and the organization representative, with whom I was in contact throughout the scheduling process, were kind, courteous, and did a superb job representing U.G.
My gratitude to a group of open and inviting innovators and leaders.
The world is better off thanks to their work.
I started with UniversalGiving as an intern last summer and I returned to UniversalGiving as a full-time employee now. I have always enjoyed working with the passionate, supportive and collaborative team. It is very inspiring that everyone at UniversalGiving is so dedicated to the mission of the organization. The office environment is positive and independent.
UniversalGiving is my top choice out of the 3 offers that I received after my graduation. It offers me great opportunities to work across different business units, which enables me to have hands on experience in multiple functions. UniversalGiving outlines clear growth path for its full-time employees and ensures that all volunteers have the best experience with UniversalGiving. It is an amazing place for anyone who wants to work at nonprofits or just make a positive impact on the world.
I worked as an EA Intern my last semester in college, and after college I moved from San Francisco. UG allowed me to continue working as a Remote Consultant. I have learnt so much working at Universalgiving and the flexibility they have given me has been amazing. UG appreciates their team and you can feel the appreciation and dedication every day you step into the office! (Or turn on your computer remotely!)
UniversalGiving is one of my best work experience. I learned a lot and advanced myself as a better person. This organization really want to spread the good and make the world a better place, you can feel it everyday at the office.
All the team members are passionate about doing good and cares about upholding the mission of the company and the vision of Pamela Hawley. It's a great honor that I could take part in UG activity.
Working in this organization have been a real source of inspiration and motivation for my future.
I definitely want to continue to contribute to the team and get involved in association to help people in need.
Thanks to UniversalGiving I found a purpose to my study and will continue my studies in Sustainable Management and Eco-Innovation.
I truly believe that UG will continue to have a social and environmental positive impact in the world for years to come.
UniversalGiving (UG) is a wonderful place to gain valuable nonprofit experience. This past summer, I had the opportunity to serve as a UG Ambassador remotely. Despite not working in the office environment, I learned about managing social media within a nonprofit and creating partnerships between organizations. Additionally, I was still in constant contact with my mentor and the CEO. The staff is truly passionate about their employees and positive social change through volunteering and corporate social responsibility.
There are so many opportunities to get involved with UG. They offer internships where you can work with Fortune 500 companies, social media, or NGO services—to name a few. And, like me, you can also work remotely to promote the opportunities UG offers. If you prefer just to volunteer, you can choose from a wide range of vetted international opportunities based on your interests. You can always count on UG to offer effective and beneficial programs on their website. Thank you UG for such an enriching experience!
UniversalGiving is an incredible organization which gives you lots of hand-on experiences as well as understanding of problems all over the world. People working for there are so nice and passionate about making impacts on this world. I'm really happy to be a part of this team.
Volunteering with UniversalGiving has been one of the best experiences of my life. Truly an organization that welcomes new ideas, collaboration across the globe, and supports ambassadors and volunteers to elevate individualized interests and talent.
I have absolute confidence that any person who is motivated to be part of philanthropy, should keep their eyes and ears open for UniversalGiving. The work Pamela Hawley and her entire team has been able to accomplish is measurable and idealistic. Such leadership cannot be modeled greater than Pamela's unbelievable ability to: sense the needs of others, fill doubt with optimism by developing pragmatic goals, and achieving great heights. As Pamela always says with such warmth and truth, "onwards and upwards and with joy".
I encourage everyone to learn more about UniversalGiving to get involved.
I motivate anyone who is interested in taking one step further into philanthropy, to volunteer with UniversalGiving today.
Friendly note: I have lived in Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and now in Seattle. Through this entire transformational period, both professional and personal, I was able to virtually volunteer with UniversalGiving. There is always a way! And I am incredibly thankful to have UniversalGiving part of my path and hopeful future.
My returnship at UniversalGiving was a daily pleasure. I am so grateful for the opportunity to spend my days with the brilliant and dedicated UG team. They not only taught me the new skills I needed to successfully transition into a non-profit career but, more importantly, they taught me how to approach the work with intelligence, humor and enthusiasm. I will carry these gifts with me to all my future work.
By having an internship at UniversalGiving, I've learned new skills and advanced myself as a professional. In combination with this, I have helped the world through UniversalGiving's vetting model that has allowed me to market the best NGO's out there. During my three month internship, I've grown and gained more ownership and responsibility for different projects in my business unit. To anyone looking for an internship where you are allowed to grow... Look no further than UniversalGiving!
I am currently a student at Northwestern and worked for UniversalGiving the summer after my freshman year. I could not recommend it enough! The experience I had working with the Corporate Social Responsibility team has been so valuable to me. I learned important skills in forming and maintaining client relationships, while working along side a team of motivated and motivating individuals. I even had the opportunity to work directly with the CEO and learn from her vast experience. She has continued to mentor me to this day and has been an incredible resource for my career development.
UniversalGiving provided me the learning environment that I needed to jump start my college internship experience and has continued to give me valuable connections that I continue to treasure today!
I am a current employee at UniversalGiving, and am constantly impressed by the organization and the people that work to support it; each employee at UniversalGiving cares deeply about upholding the mission of our organization and the vision of its founder, Pamela. I believe that UG will continue to have a positive social and environmental impact on the world for years to come.
I'm an internship student here.
To work here, I can feel UniversalGiving have high passion about their job and create connection for each other. Also, everyone works closely in the office.
I love this mission, to connect people to quality giving and volunteer opportunities worldwide. They not only make giving and volunteer opportunities but with quality in the world. :)
Look at the numbers. Most contributions go to salaries. Hemorrhaging money.

I had an internship program at UniversalGiving this summer.
I’m sure that it is the greatest non-profit I have ever concerned with. In my home country, there are many non-profits which have vague and obscure aims and strategies to achieve them so that people regard non-profit itself skeptically.
On the other hand, UniversalGiving has clear, obvious, and enthusiastic mind and their goal; worldwide partnerships, with all members being so serious about their concerns. I was really shocked that the team effectively commanded certain information technologies, theories of marketing and various other logical methods to go for the goal.
I think it was the true way of non-profits. It’s a great honor for me that I could take part in UG activity, and I will, want to continue to contribute to the team, definitely!
I've been working in UG for a while, I could have a great experience there! People and Pamela are very nice and they have an enthusiasm to work!
UG gives you the opportunity to pursue whatever you're passionate about, as long as your passionate about making the world a better place. A cool place to work around people that are committed to making a difference.
I think the best thing I can say for anyone who wants to work with UniversalGiving is that if you go in with a "meh" attitude, you're going to come out with a "met" experience. However, if you have a positive attitude, you're going to get more than just a positive experience. For me, I had the honor of working with Pamela Hawley. I'm glad to have learned things that I didn't expect to learn. I'm also grateful for the people I've met and the relationships that I built. They're in a great city with great weather and a great workspace.
UniversalGiving is unique in the way that 100% of the donations goes straight to the cause. The variety of the causes is really amazing and you can always find a project that you are passionate about. The reason why I chose UniversalGiving was because they live up the highest standards and ethics, and by volunteering with UniversalGiving, you are having a positive impact on the world and getting a satisfaction that is worth more than just writing a check. The UG team is really passionate and will put in the extra work needed for you to get the satisfaction of helping the world become a better place.
Universal Giving is an excellent organization that helps match volunteers with projects around the world. The ability to give through volunteering is a personally rewarding one, and through Universal Giving you can work on some of the best vetted projects. I've found this experience resonates with people more than simply writing a check (although that helps too). The UG staff is great and always willing to go the extra mile to help you. The founder Pamela is extremely passionate and determined about making a difference. Universal Giving is an exemplary Non-Profit and everyone should see what they are about.
UniversalGiving is a non profit organization that is motivated to provide help to people around the world. It upholds its integrity to serve people who are in need of help which is what motivated me to join UG.
UniversalGiving upholds the highest standards of excellence and achievement. Committed to supporting a wide variety of worthwhile causes across the globe UniversalGiving truly achieves its mission of making giving a part of everyday life. The experience and skills I have gained through this organization have been meaningful and important to both my personal and professional life.
I recently had the good fortune to attend a truly inspirational lecture by Pamela Hawley, CEO of UniversalGiving. She captivated the audience by sharing her personal journey finding her path to fulfillment through life's inevitable ups and downs. Honest, witty, and often hilarious, Pam had us laughing and crying as she told us of the inspiration, evolution, and ultimate achievement of UniversalGiving, a website dedicated to connecting people with philanthropic giving and volunteer opportunities throughout the world. She inspired us, motivated us, and compelled us to find our true selves through the process of giving back to others. Thank you, Pam!
UniversalGiving is an amazing nonprofit that truly does the most. Led by the very philanthropic, very approachable CEO Pamela Hawley, UniversalGiving stresses the importance of working as a collective unit of people rather than working on one's own tasks and forgetting the rest. As an intern for several months, I was able to collaborate with a number of people in different projects from recruitment to website design to general assistance to Pamela. On the NGO side, UniversalGiving provides to a score of different missions worldwide. They set goals to assist the missions in an effective and timely manner. I highly consider UniversalGiving!
UniversalGiving is a leader in the social impact space. By volunteering, I'm able to make a difference in a BIG way - positively affecting the work of many non-profits and NGOs as opposed to just one. If you want to make a significant impact in the world - checkout UniversalGiving.
Interning at UniversalGiving these past couple of months gave me valuable experience and knowledge that will benefit me in my future endeavors! I absolutely loved working with the UG team and being able to do my part to contribute to something as important as UniversalGiving!
I know that the experience, skills, knowledge and connections that I gained at Universal Giving internship are going to be more valuable to me in the future than I can even comprehend right now. I want you to know that I truly appreciate the incredible opportunity I was given as a QA Intern to grow and learn as a professional. It has been a truly life-shaping experience and a nice contribution to the world being associated with Universal Giving!

This is an amazing organization where people are passionate and willing to devote their time to make a difference in this world. It also provides endless opportunities for those in search of volunteer programs or internships to kickstart their journeys in giving back to the community.
I am excited about my volunteering opportunity at UniversalGiving. There are so many non-profit organizations and causes that one can work woth these days. But there is something refreshingly different and honest about Pamela Hawley's story and how she got into the world of "giving". Her team seems equally enthused and professional. Kudos!
I have been volunteering at Universal GIving for a short period of time but have learnt so much about the company. Their mission to connect people to global volunteering and giving opportunities resonates all over the office.Staff are very friendly and easy to get along with. They have a wide range of possibility so anyone wanting to volunteer is spoilt for choice with the options available. A must join if you want to make a difference in the world but do not know where to start.
I have just joined UniversalGiving and am already struck by the level of dedication, passion and focus in the office. Everyone here exudes warmth and empathy while maintaining an incredible work ethic. Everyone here at UG does everything in their power to ensure that people in need get as much attention and help as possible. All donations given on the UG website go to the cause in question!
Family is deeply rooted within my identity and has significantly impacted my global perception pertaining to the struggles of poverty, education, and attainable success. Growing up in Florida and spending summers in Colombia taught me at an early age that wealth is relative; poverty in both countries were vastly different yet the emotional impact on people was always significant. Being a witness of drastic poverty unearthed an understanding that success was evident by monetary value. Academics was my tool to ensure success was attainable for me and my family who worked so hard to give me this opportunity. I graduated with a Finance degree and a hunger to work in corporate america. Businesses create tangible innovation, supported by communities and cultivated by resources, which are all supplied by money - business strategy works and is highly valuable, but why was I still not satisfied?
Everyday I wanted to feel and know that my job was helping someone. After corporate america, I learned that money fuels progress but compassion fuels the sustainability of hope and joy. Working for UniversalGiving™ gives me the opportunity to reach within my identity and culture to grasp different struggles, in order to make each day better for someone out there in the world. From day one, I have been captivated by all the reading material to learn even more about UniversalGiving; all the incredible and altruistic work organized by CEO Pamela Hawley, Executive Assistant team members, volunteers, donators, and corporations. Although I just began, I intuitively know our awareness - family, friends, and myself - will grow to greater heights fulfilled with compassion and action.
Project implementation is highly supported at UniversalGiving and by Pamela. I am eager to deep dive into a project where we can collectively grow education equity in USA and Colombia. With UniversalGiving I know I am making someone's day a little bit better. I am confident I am exactly where I am supposed to be and cannot wait to learn more and do more!
A great organization with a great mission. I've been volunteering as an intern at UniversalGiving for about 3 months and enjoyed every moment of it! It's been an absolute pleasure getting hands on experience in working with such a collaborative and bright team.
Universal Giving has a great degree of project flexibility and is great for people looking for different kinds of industry experience. As well as offering a productive dynamic and powerful work experience, universal giving also has many social events and gatherings as well media ventures and opportunities for support offered by the founder Pamela Hawley. The people were alway kind and friendly and working here was truly a joyful experience.
I have enjoyed working at UniversalGiving. It's really great that I can work with Pamela and other teams. I learn a lot not only from my own business unit, but from everyone at UniversalGiving! I learn a lot from PD team, and it makes me understand how we plan and launch products. The team is very dynamic and optimistic.
I joined the UniversalGiving 3 months ago and have loved every minute of it! I have learned so much as an NGO Services intern, not only from my business unit manager, but from everyone I had the privilege to work with! Everyone at UniversalGiving is so passionate and dedicated to the mission of the organization that it is truly inspiring. Lastly, UniversalGiving gave me so many opportunities that interns don't usually get to experience. Thank you UniversalGiving for allowing me to grow as a professional, while also making a positive impact in the world :)
I have enjoyed my summer at UniversalGiving immensely! The office environment is at once collaborative and self-driven. Everyone is so willing to help each other succeed with their ideas and projects. I've learned so much not just from my own coach, but from all the other business units as well! And how cool is it that UniversalGiving's business model allows 100% of donations to go directly to the NGOs and people who need it? UG makes giving and volunteering a very natural part of everyday life with its professional image and personal touches. Our CEO, Pamela Hawley, is definitely a great role model and leader, who's eager to help us learn and make a difference in the world. I feel very fortunate.
I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to intern at UniversalGiving this summer! The office dynamic is incredibly supportive and optimistic, from daily interactions to team meeting discussions and reports. The team is spirited, knowledgeable and truly dedicated to doing great things in and for the world. Everybody I have met was so willing to help me learn and grow, and conversely, grateful and appreciative if they asked me for help. I have learned both from working individually on due diligence projects and various other assignments and directly with Pamela, who is the most positive, inspiring and wonderful CEO!
I am starting to work for universalgiving.org, i am impressed by their professionalism for helping. I am hoping it will be a lot of fun :)
Thanks for giving me opportunity to volunteerr.
regards
rahul dhiman
After working with UniversalGiving for the past 2 months, I can truly say that it is an amazing organization. I am constantly impressed by the dedication and passion of everyone working in the office. Everyone wholeheartedly believes in the mission statement and works hard to try to make the world a better place. UniversalGiving is always seeking ways to improve what it is doing, and will not settle for less than ideal! It is definitely worth a visit to their website!
I have been associated with UniversalGiving for the past 6 months and I absolutely love it. I like UG for their complete uniqueness of giving away 100% of the donations directly to the cause, for their efficient business model and business does not sound like business with UG’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs when we are working towards building a positive community around us. I am working with CEO Pamela Hawley and her team since I started my internship; they are so helpful, friendly and are always looking out for each other. Everyone in her team is very well organized, efficient and passionate about their work. I have acquired lot of skills and would like to take this opportunity to thank her for giving me a chance to show what I am and also for the opportunity to serve the world through online platform.
It has been truly amazing experience and take I pride to be a part of this glorious organization.
I am very excited to start my work with UniversalGiving. I am glad I have found a place where I can both learn valuable professional knowledge from leaders in the social impact community and make a positive impact in the world. I am excited to see how our efforts will continue to push the boundaries of social impact and encourage people to help others in need!
I joined UniversalGiving because I wanted to help out in the world and gain professional experience. I am extremely impressed by the business model that allows UniversalGiving to turn over 100% of the donations to the causes that need them. The team is organized and efficient, but also incredibly friendly and helpful. The office environment is conductive to both working alone and collaborative efforts. I am excited to be working here this summer.
I joined UniversalGiving because I want to work on something meaningful and I want to be a part of a non profit organization.
I find that the organizational model of UniversalGiving is unique. They did nice work helping people to donate!
I am excited to start my volunteering with UniversalGiving because I can gain professional world experience and at the same time, contribute to a good cause.
After my first day at UniversalGiving, I can already tell that this organization is special. Overflowing with dedicated and hard working men and woman, UniversalGiving is truly a place that efficiently finds ways to promote social activism. I am truly honored to have to opportunity to work here and I know I am going to learn so much.
In joining UniversalGiving, I sought to gain experience in the professional world to enhance my career. I haven't been here for long, but I can safely state that UniversalGiving is a wonderful company to be apart of. Right as i entered the double glass doors, I was immersed in an atmosphere of knowledge and expertise. From day one, the staff has been outstanding and caring when it comes to their work and their volunteers. Although i have no prior experience of having a formal job or internship, the staff has assisted me in all possible ways to help maximize my efforts and I look forward to the outstanding experience and connections I will gain.
As someone interested in learning different ways companies promote social responsibility, UniversalGiving™ was an obvious choice for an internship. Even with this positive outlook, my expectations were far exceeded! At UniversalGiving every team member is given an important role to play and a lot of independence. You can tell everyone is very passionate about what they're doing, so it's a great place to learn and build relationships.
Who hires college freshmen as interns? Not many. Why? Because companies don't want to dedicate precious time to train fresh faces and then bid farewell to them after three months. It's a cost to them.
Not to UniversalGiving™, though.
UniversalGiving™ tweeted me back one day (yes, Twitter was a crucial element of acquiring my internship - social media conscious, right?), letting me know that they were "age agnostic" when hiring. Happy days! Resume, cover letter and writing samples were sent, phone interview was completed, outfit was pressed and ironed, and a long list of to-do's presented to me already on my first day. I loved it! UG really treats you like a staff member and not an intern.
As a marketing intern, I was responsible for operating UG's social media, newsletters, the CEO's blog, video editing, creating Excel tracking systems, Salesforce, customer service, and of course, outreaching and working with the press. But it doesn't stop there. After my second week, I was made a marketing coach and was put on the spot, training another new intern. UG therefore possesses somewhat of a start-up culture with its fast paced work days and cross-functional team. You will overlap, you will impact the company, and if asked, you will get to work on areas of your interest.
One of my favorite parts of my internship was the intern support. Almost 2/3 of the staff are interns. I mean it is a nonprofit after all (=unpaid, but worth it of course). I worked with people of different ages, backgrounds, states and countries, which was refreshing for a third culture kid, like me. But it's up to you to create that intern culture. Definitely push to gather the crowd and go to after-work events, festivals, meals. In that way, I learned both inside and outside the office. The space we worked in was also fantastic (look up "The Hub- Bay Area" ... *spoiler alert* lots of free food!!!!).
The CEO, Pamela Hawley, was also a highlight of my internship. You will never meet anyone else like her. She does not sit when she works (she has a standing desk). She comes in almost every day and works in the same room as everyone else. She will ask you about your day, your interests and aspirations. She talks pretty fast. And she's an improv actor! Pamela is certainly a character, a memorable one in the best way possible. It's admirable to work with such a high-level, high-spirited, strong woman - she definitely livens up the room. If there's one quote that I'll remember long-term, it's her quoting her grandmother (her "Oma"): "There is nothing difficult, only new." Tantalizingly true, no? And a monumental representation of her success in creating UniversalGiving.
Overall, UG is a wonderful place to work for those interested in the nonprofit sector, the start-up life, and the beauty of San Francisco (minus the occasional pee smell).
I learned a lot, improved my current skills, and became more confident in my own abilities through UniversalGiving. I love the people and I love their message (100% donations go straight to the charities!!!). It's a great place to be.
I joined UniversalGiving because I wanted to find an organization that is truly dedicated to helping the community and gives 100% of what they receive back. This organization has such a friendly and open workspace that encourages creativity and independence.
After hearing Pamela at a university event, my thoughts on UniversalGiving's values and goals are nothing but positive! UG does a great job of allowing people of all ages to find volunteer opportunities that best match them!
Universal Giving is a non-profit that radiates positive energy in truly making the world a better place. I am greatly looking forward to spending my time here as an intern this summer and learning every day. I am inspired by Universal Giving's beliefs, that philanthropy is more than giving money to someone with financial troubles, and in its diligent and astute review of organizations to collaborate with. The everyday environment is motivational, and the people on the UG team are hard-working and absolutely excellent.
I first became interested in interning for UniversalGiving after meeting Pamela Hawley at a school function. It was really inspiring seeing how hard she had worked and how much she had done to help people all over the world. I often struggle to find the perfect cause to donate to or volunteer for and UniversalGiving solves that problem perfectly.
Observing UniversalGiving's large impact on global issues, I wanted to discover what it takes for a CEO like Pamela to inspire a large team, deal with obstacles and successfully run an organization.
Today was my first day working as an Intern at UniversalGiving and I cannot describe how inspiring it is to work in an environment with such a motivated and collaborative team. Within the first 10 minutes of stepping into the office, I was listening to the CEO of UG (Pamela) deliver an in-depth presentation to the rest of the UG staff (interns included) on our strategies and goals for the upcoming months, as well as explaining some key concepts of the logistics of our nonprofit model.
I was initially drawn to UG because I wanted to work with an organization that makes a global impact. UG has been repeatedly recognized as being an impactful nonprofit, not only for streamlining donations and volunteer opportunities within the public sector, but also for improving Global Corporate Social Responsibility. Additionally, 100% of public donations go directly to UG vetted charities, which made me even more certain that UG was the nonprofit for me.
However, one thing that caught me by surprise was how inclusive and driven the woking environment is. I was incredibly impressed to learn that the entire team was regularly updated regrading the various projects that individual members are undertaking, as well as the fast-paced work environment and how driven everyone is. You can feel that everyone here believes in the goals of this organization and is actively working to accomplish those goals and strive to grow in the future.
I'm ecstatic to begin my work with such an incredible organization and such an amazing team. I know that this is an incredible opportunity for me to see behind the scenes of a truly impactful nonprofit.
Having had the opportunity to work with various NGOs internationally, I've come to share UniversalGiving's realization that private-public partnerships possess incredible potential to catalyze change. Although corporations possess the ability to place items on the global agenda, companies still lack trusting relationships within beneficiary communities to generate results. As a new member of the dedicated UniversalGiving Corporate team, I sincerely believe that as we bridge this gap we are reaching more people in need of a second chance worldwide.
I am a 24-year-old recent college graduate and I applied for and was offered an internship with Universal Giving. It is a very exciting opportunity to work alongside intelligent, passionate people in downtown San Francisco. It is an amazing work space where everyone is supportive and are constantly generating new ideas and projects. Anyone that wants to gain some insight into the world of nonprofit organizations could not choose a better environment than Universal Giving.
I am so excited to be interning with UniversalGiving this summer. The organization is well-organized and allows anyone involved to make a real impact on the world around them. I know that I will be challenged to meet my goals and I am inspired by the passion for the cause that I see all around me. I look forward to learning more about this amazing organization and being able to further UniversalGiving's vision of a world filled with goodwill and kindness.
I was drawn to interning at UniversalGIving because of their mission to make it easy for people to volunteer and donate. Helping others has always been a huge part of my life, and I am thrilled that I get to continue to do so with such a great organization filled with passionate people. I am excited to begin my internship and dive into projects while being surrounded by and learning from people who are so dedicated to the cause.
I first heard about Universal Giving at an event that the CEO, Pamela Hawley came to speak at at UC Berkeley. Since I already had an interest in social entrepreneurship, Pamela's keynote speech really had a great impact on me! I knew that Universal Giving would be a vibrant, energetic, and rewarding organization to intern at and I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to be the NGO intern. I can already tell that everyone who is a part of Universal Giving is highly motivated and passionate about the mission of the organization and I cannot wait to begin :)
I became interested in volunteering at UniversalGiving because of their unique nonprofit structure - unlike other nonprofits they charge for services provided to corporations in order to be able to give 100% of donations to the nonprofits that they work with. This makes UniversalGiving self-sustaining while creating visibility and funding for other nonprofits around the world. They work efficiently while providing great educational and leadership opportunities to their interns.
It's a great opportunity to be a volunteer in Universalgiving. From here, a lot of motivated people work here.
I became interested in interning at UniversalGiving after completing semesters abroad in Tanzania and Ecuador where I learned firsthand what it means to lack basic human necessities to lead a healthy life. I truly believe in UniversalGiving's mission and organizational model. By pursuing partnerships with NGOs focused on relatively small, detailed projects with specific funding goals, they can insure that donations actually reach the people they are intending to serve.
I was drawn by UniversalGiving after I attended a talk by its founder and CEO, Pamela Hawley, at UC Berkeley. Listening about what motivated Pamela to start UniversalGiving and what UniversalGiving stands for (its vision, mission, and culture), I knew that I wanted to be part of such a passionate, diverse, and philanthropic organization.
I am excited to start my summer as a volunteer and contribute to such a great organization that not only helps fund projects around the world, but also helps companies have good business values and practices through UniversalGiving's CSR component.
I will make sure to write a review again midday through my internship and at the end of my internship, so be on the lookout for that! :)
-----
As promised, I am back to review!! HANDS DOWN, UniversalGiving is a great organization. I have interned for a bit more than 2 months and it has been a great experience. I cannot being to say all the things I have learned. I look forward to the great things UniversalGiving will continue to do. I recommend anyone to check out UniversalGiving.
Everyone at UG works closely with our CEO and there are a lot of things you will learn, not only from our CEO but from fellow colleagues. Also, whatever interests you have, if you want to be part of it, you will! If you have inputs or new ideas, they are all happily welcome, heard, and implemented in one way or another.
I love our team, the environment, location, excitement, projects, and how everything functions and continues to grow/evolve/innovate at UniversalGiving. Our CEO is a great role model, leader, and inspiration. She treats everyone the same and always has a smile on her face. She provides great feedback and always knows how to help you grow.
Until later!
I am currently a Corporate Services intern with UniversalGiving, and I am so thrilled to be here! Working at the Impact Hub is an exciting and inspiring place to spend time working. The staff is friendly and helpful. More importantly every process is organized and streamlined to work as efficiently as possible, making it easy and pleasurable to give my time. i am looking forward to the rest of my time here at UniversalGiving, and the opportunity to be apart of the change.
Working for UniversalGiving has been an amazing experience! Everyone is so friendly and upbeat, Pamela Hawley works closely with her staff and provides great mentoring, and the work is genuine and serves a purpose. I have gained a wide variety of skill sets after working as an Executive Assistant, and I look forward to continuing my work with UG!
I came into UniversalGiving as a marketing intern. I had no experience in the field whatsoever, I was just excited to learn more about my role. What I got was an experience that surpassed the one i had in mind. Pamela Hawley, the CEO, works personally to help you develop your skills and enhances your strengths. She provides feedback and close relationships with the people around her in order to develop a much more fun, and efficient work environment. The rest of the UniversalGiving team is also incredibly helpful. I've never met a group of people so dedicated in one cause. This experience is one that i'll never forget.
I want a career with a purpose and a vision that works towards the bigger picture. When I heard Pamela Hawley, CEO and founder of UniversalGiving™, talk at an event a few months ago, I knew that this was an organization that I would be proud to work for. I've only just began my role as NGO intern, but I am so pleased to be a part of this wonderful team and I look forward to the opportunities ahead!
After searching for volunteer opportunities at global nonprofits in the Bay Area, I came across UniversalGiving. I was attracted to UG because of its mission and vision as well as the vast number of internships available in various business units. The organization recruits volunteers on a rolling basis, so I was able to begin volunteering shortly after applying.
If you are looking for a steep learning curve with the opportunity to work with the management team and take on leadership roles, I highly recommend the Internships and Returnships at this organization. It's obvious that CEO and Founder, Pamela, is very passionate about UG's cause, and this is reflected in the organizational culture. While small, UniversalGiving attracts a diverse groups of committed volunteers, and it's been an honor to work with people with different backgrounds, skills, and talents.
Six months ago, I started working at UniversalGiving as an NGO Services Intern with very little job skills. And today I will be leaving with a wealth of knowledge, not only about NGOs but also about CSR and Social Media. CEO Pamela Hawley likes to personally mentor all interns and returnees. She will develop your talents and put you in charge of high-level projects. I consider my time here to be an invaluable experience.
Today, I'll be starting a three month software development-based internship at UniversalGiving™. UniversalGiving has a renowned status as a non-profit, their regular and corporate CSR services being invaluable for many. I was drawn in by its open, multi-cultural working environment, as well as its dedication to improving the lives of others. In the coming months, I expect to improve my software development and professional skills, and hope to have an increased insight into the world of non-profits.
What really stood out to me about UniversalGiving is their strong initiative to really make a change in this world. Through their website they provide information for people who want to volunteer and help with this cause, but don't know how. They even have many gift packages for donators to choose from, so they can see where their gift is going and what the benefit of their donation is. This provides an excellent form of awareness, as well as important information to those looking to do a little more for the world. I began my journey with UniversalGiving as a way to help their cause and to grow as an individual.
I recommend this organization for they are truly there to help.
What led me to volunteer with UniversalGiving was their model and vision. Volunteering has played an important role in my personal life and career development, and I appreciate the work they do to vet volunteer/donation opportunities. I think there needs to be more transparency in nonprofit organizations and UG is helping make that possible. It's great to know that your money or time is going to a worthy cause that has a proven track record. I'm so glad to be a part of an organization that is doing much needed work in a growing field.
What drew me to UniversalGiving was their mission to connect volunteers and donors with opportunities worldwide. Unlike many organizations 100% of your donation goes towards the cause of your choice. I also think that it’s great that all of the volunteer opportunities are vetted so you know you are giving to something meaningful.
What first caught my attention is UniversalGiving's vision to make giving and volunteering a natural part of everyday life. There is so much effort put in by a group of people to help others make the world a better place in different ways; and this includes Social Transaction which is a unique way of contributing while shopping online without additional cost to consumers. As they say, smalls steps can lead to big differences. What I also like about the organization is that 100% of the donation goes directly to the cause.
What interested me about Universal Giving is the efficiency of it's business model: a sort of hybrid organization that helps bridge the gap between companies and NGO's to positively impact local and international communities in need. I also value that 100% of the donations goes directly to the specified program.
What drew me to UniversalGiving is their mission to connect people to quality giving and volunteer opportunities worldwide, and its vision to create a world where giving and volunteering are a natural part of everyday life. Our world is plague with problems, but I believe we can solve one problem at a time if we all give a little bit of our time to tackle problems in our communities and around the world. UniversalGiving makes easy to volunteer or support organizations and 100% of each donation goes directly to the cause, ensuring that your donations goes directly to those that need it most instead of going into administration or fundraising costs as it happens in other nonprofit organizations.
UniversalGiving is an online platform for people who want to give back, but are unsure how. By vetting organizations and volunteer opportunities around the world, UniversalGiving promote causes that are easily accessible and highly effective.
I came across UniversalGiving after expressing an interest in having their CEO Pamela Hawley speak at a community event in Oakland. Pamela's warm personality and enthusiasm encouraged me to reach out and see how I could help further UG's mission around the world. The office environment was incredibly welcoming and effective in stretching their limited resources as far as possible.
I would highly recommend donating and volunteering at UniversalGiving.
Committed to social responsibility and global awareness, I was drawn to UniversalGiving’s vision to “create a world where giving and volunteering are a natural part of everyday life,” and the opportunity to learn about social entrepreneurship. Many people want to contribute to society or change the world, but may not know how. I was impressed by how UniversalGiving makes it easy for people to give back, through connecting them to vetted giving and volunteering opportunities, as well as how 100% of donations go to those in need.
Interning at UniversalGiving has been a very rewarding experience. It is a fast-paced environment, and from Day 1, I have been involved in the organization’s operations and entrusted with responsibilities not typically awarded to interns. UniversalGiving’s team members are passionate, friendly, and willing to teach others new skills—fostering a very welcoming and supportive work environment!
It has been an amazing opportunity to work for such an inspiring CEO and leader. Pamela is passionate, intuitive, and positive—being around her inspires everyone to do their best. She genuinely cares about her interns and invests her time and energy into supporting interns’ professional development, ensuring that they have rewarding, productive, and educational experiences.
What drew me to UniversalGiving was its mission to pursue social justice, civic engagement, and positive change. After having been exposed to global social issues like the oppression against women and the prevalence of poverty and marginalization through my education, I became determined to serve the global community in any capacity. I find that UniversalGiving not only gives back to these communities, but it creates a space where philanthropy and global connections can thrive.
The UniversalGiving office is small, yet its staff remain dedicated to promoting the organization's goals. This is most evident when I see volunteers and staff diligently staring at their computer screens and working hard on their projects. The small quarters enhance the organization's collaborative nature; if you ever needed a question answered, someone is just a shoulder tap away. As an intern, this helped me quickly settle in. At the same time, Pamela's quick and sharp nature has kept me on my toes and has honed my ability to quickly solve problems. UniversalGiving is a great place to carry out your personal mission for change while building your work experience.
I worked as an intern for UniversalGiving this summer and I had a very good experience. Pamela, the CEO and founder of UniversalGiving, is extremely friendly and is very dedicated to helping others. She is a great leader and it has been a pleasure to work with her and the rest of the staff. I was able to gain experience working in Marketing by helping out with social media and outreach. I was also able to gain experience working with Salesforce. Overall, I would definitely recommend working with UniversalGiving.
UniversalGiving offers a service to match people to various volunteer opportunities or charitable causes across the globe. When I had an opportunity to intern at UniversalGiving, I knew I would be able to get unbelievable experience while doing work that made a positive impact in communities around the world. UniversalGiving offers their service on a website that is clean and intuitive and 100% of donations go directly to their cause. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and it's clear they are all truly passionate about giving something back to the world.
I have always been dedicated to volunteering and giving back to the global community. This passion is what drew me UniversalGiving. This organization has made volunteering and giving back to the community easy through its website and provides clear financial information about these organizations. UniversalGiving's Quality Model is revolutionary and provides people with a reliable, trustworthy group of organizations to volunteer and give to.
As an intern, I am inspired by their business model and dedication to helping the global community. The staff members and CEO are personally invested and passionate about the work they are doing. As an intern, the small community in the office allows you to connect with your fellow interns and colleagues. In my experience, it is a unique opinion that interns have the opportunity to work directly with the CEO and working with such a talented and experienced person like Pamela in such a tight knit environment is a one of a kind opportunity.
Internships are what you make out of them - and my favorite part about being involved with UniversalGiving and Pamela is the way you can turn an internship into an extremely rewarding, instructional, and beneficial experience. I have interned at various organizations, but only at UniversalGiving was I provided the opportunity to become involved in a critical way to the growth of the organization. This experience, of directly contributing and seeing the impact of my work, helped me to gain a full-time job in the non-profit sector. Few organizations invest in your growth as an individual the way Pamela and UniversalGiving do. Being able to receive feedback and suggestions from Pamela was especially special. I highly recommend becoming involved if you are looking to develop your skills and gain some great knowledge and experience. The breadth of the work UG does also appeals to a wide range of skills - web development, marketing, corporate relations, non-profit/NGO, operations/exec assistant - and the interconnected-ness of the organization means you are introduced to lots of departments at once. Interning at UG is a great way to develop your professional skill set and career.
Pamela is one of the best CEOs to ever work for. She is passionate about making the world a better place, and this passion is reflected in the spirit of UniversalGiving.
The team at UniversalGiving is wonderful to work with - they are smart, helpful, caring, and passionate individuals. Pamela is a wonderful CEO to work with. She is an inspirational leader, encouraging and optimistic, and she takes the time to understand her team members and their strengths.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with the team at UniversalGiving and working for Pamela. In fact, I often think back fondly on those times!
I loved working with UniversalGiving in marketing, communications and social media. UG's Quality Model is one-of-a-kind and focuses primarily on quality assurance for superior customer service. My exposure working under our CEO Pamela Hawley offered me a privileged opportunity to learn best practices in the industry, an opportunity rarely afforded to interns elsewhere. I am amazed by UniversalGiving's scope and reach offering vetted opportunities in partnership with great NGO's in over 100 countries! It made me feel like I was certainly making a difference.
Great customer service and love that I can find legit NGOs on their site to volunteer with! There's so many different organizations out there and it's nice to have a place where everything is compiled, and where I can find the best ones which I know will provide a good experience.
Love this organization. It is wonderful to have one place to go to find the best place to donate and volunteer to.
I have been volunteering for this organization, and my experience has been great so far! I was able to share my passion and goals with the team, and everyone is very willing to help me achieve these goals by giving me related assignment and work. It makes you feel like they care about your growth instead of only trying to get you to do work for the organization. I also love the people working here. Everyone is very positive and helpful. I love to recommend others to work with UniversalGiving!

I am trying to look for opportunities to learn more about strategy consulting and marketing, and I found UniversalGiving. I am very impressed with the business model UG has. They help corporations with their CSR programs to fund their non-profit mission. Everyone in the team is very nice and welcoming. I am very excited to be part of the UG team!
My time interning at UniversalGiving was incredibly fruitful. I was able to gain a better understanding of operational and organizational procedures at a successful nonprofit and realize my new found liking for Marketing. I am very grateful to have been a part of the UniversalGiving team. It was inspirational to see a group of professionals with great leadership and talent cooperating with one another to create a common goal.
Working at UniversalGiving has been a wonderful experience for me. The staff is extremely welcoming passionate about their work. This has been a terrific experience in which I have learned a great amount about non-profits and social enterprise. I would encourage everyone to volunteer with UniversalGiving!
I volunteered with UniversalGiving several years ago and just recently returned to the organization. UniversalGiving is a great place where people can make real impact on the world. The organization takes no cut on donations. 100% of each donation goes directly to the cause. The culture and environment is fantastic. Our team members are friendly and talented. I've enjoyed my time here working with the wonderful team.
I am volunteering for UG in the online marketing field and I really enjoy working in such as great working environment. People here are so nice and willing to help each other. I also learned a lot about how a successful non-profit organization works.
I've worked with UniversalGiving for several months and have really enjoyed my time there. The hands down best thing about it was my coworkers, who are all very sweet and amazing people. I also had a lot of great mentor-ship from the managers, who took the time to evaluate my skills and actually try to push me out of my comfort zone so that I could grow and improve as a person. I would say that is something that is hard to find at many companies these days. UniversalGiving as a nonprofit is also unique in that it vets the NGO's it partners with very thoroughly and doesn't take a cut from donations. Because of this, UG stuck out to me compared to other nonprofits, and it was one of the main reasons I decided to join. After reading a lot about the dangers of nonprofits out there who are not opaque, or might not be legitimate, I think more organizations should follow their quality model.
UniversalGiving does great work with great heart. 100% of your donation and volunteering time benefits the org you choose! They are true social entrepreneurs, as they support their work with Corporate Services. UniversalGiving ROCKS!
Working at UniversalGiving has been an enriching experience for me. It has a great team with wonderful people.
I volunteered with UG a few years ago and was impressed by the staff's commitment and dedication to the organization's mission, from the CEO to each of the interns. Not only is the staff passionate about the work they do, but I found them extremely professional and talented. Their intern/volunteer program is a great introduction to the good work done by UG and I appreciated that their program is built to be flexible around busy schedules. If anything, I wish more people were aware of the great work done by UniversalGiving!
I've worked now for 4 months as a Presentation Intern and Executive Assistant. This work environment was incredibly nurturing and encouraging to me, a recent grad, for figuring out what direction I wanted to take my career while getting some very good experience. The people here are great communicators and are very professional, and the service they offer is truly meaningful. I've figured out now that I want to go in a different direction with my career, back to what I studied in college, but this foray into the nonprofit, social enterprise world was a terrific experience
With a strong interest in international NGO work, my internship experience with UniversalGiving was the perfect opportunity for me to become more familiar with the field as well as do my part in helping the global community at large. My time working in the UG office as an NGO Services intern has truly been learning, fun, and growing experience. I quickly became part of the team and was regarded as any other professional coworker. This internship was an entry-level position for me, however, I felt as though I gained more experience and was given more responsibility than most regular internships. I would encourage anyone to become a part of the UG team and become a part of a group of people who are truly dedicated to their cause.
Love the atmosphere here! I volunteered UG for about 3 months when I was having grad school in SF. Everybody is friendly, and works hard and passionately on whatever they are doing. Working environment is also very comfortable here. So sad I am leaving UG because I am finishing grad school and will leave SF soon, but I believe I will be back some day if I have chance!
I've been drawn to nonprofit work since an early age. Now that I've reached the point where I actually decided to pursue it professionally through my career, I'm so glad to have started here at UniversalGiving. The way UniversalGiving sustains itself through CSR management in order to offer its primary services free to all users is one of the most innovative things I've heard about. I knew I wanted to be part of it since I first found UniversalGiving 2 years ago while job searching. I am extremely excited to be part of such a top-performing nonprofit and can't wait to see what these next three months will be like!
This is my first week interning for UniversalGiving. So far, everyone has been really nice and welcoming. I look forward to being a marketing intern for the duration of the summer. I was drawn to UniversalGiving because of their vision: to "Create a World Where Giving and Volunteering Are a Natural Part of Everyday Life." The minute I saw that, I knew I wanted to work for UniversalGiving! I also admire that 100% of each donation goes directly to the cause. I had never heard of such an innovative concept before.
Sometimes just the thought of addressing all of the world's issues can be incredibly daunting, but UniversalGiving takes a giant step towards addressing a multitude of international problems. Working with corporations and big donors to secure funding while also providing free services to enthusiastic volunteers and NGOs is a fantastic model for a nonprofit to be successful. Being apart of such a strong team makes it an honor and a privilege to be apart of the UniversalGiving team.
What drew me to UniversalGiving is the thoughtful and meaningful impact they have set out to make in the world. Often times, volunteer opportunities (whether abroad or domestic) are difficult to organize independently, when I feel that they should be more accessible to anyone who wants to donate his/her time. I also recognize that there are many volunteer-matching services that are offered through the internet; however, UniversalGiving is unique in the sense that not only is the website easy to navigate, but only volunteer programs that have been thoroughly researched are posted. The high quality of each volunteer opportunity is a defining characteristic of UniversalGiving, and speaks volumes about their commitment to better serving our global community.
UniversalGiving is the highest quality organization in providing global volunteer and charitable giving opportunities to everyone. In my experience working with the team, everyone has been extremely focused on furthering the philanthropic mission set by the amazing Founder and CEO Pamela Hawley. Under her leadership, the team has not only reached people in all corners of the world but from the highest and lowest economic standings as well.
Not only did I learn about managing and partnering with non-governmental organizations around the world, but the support and passion of the rest of the UG team propelled me to realize a plethora of opportunities for both my life and career. I loved coming into the Hub to work with the NGO team and will always be a huge advocate for this innovative and motivated organization's model and vision.
What a great experience with UniversalGiving! The office culture here is truly wonderful; every team member is incredibly nice, and are always wiling to drop whatever he or she is doing and help you out. Each team member works incredibly hard, is passionate, is driven, is talented on so many different levels.
All of this definitely translates into the organization itself; the company is very focused on providing quality volunteering and donating projects from all over the world. It is always up-to-date with the latest crisis and news circulating around the globe.
I have learned so much during my three months here at UniversalGiving and developed skills that will be incredibly useful in my future career endeavors. I am definitely going to keep in touch with UniversalGIving and the rest of the team!
It's me again!!! I am in the final week of my internship here at UniversalGiving and I wanted to reiterate how amazing this organization is! It is a wonderful place to volunteer and gain valuable work experience. I would definitely recommend UniversalGiving to anyone looking for an internship. I will miss this place :(

Being a part of UniversalGiving is a new and exciting experience for me. It is very refreshing to be around so many people that are passionate about volunteering their time for such an amazing cause. Pamela Hawley, CEO and founder is truly a breath of fresh air. She is so dedicated and enthusiastic when it comes to this organization that you can't help but to jump on board and be equally as enthused. Being involved with UniversalGiving is such a rewarding experience and I know that the work I put in will help change lives not only in near by communities but internationally as well.
I've been volunteering with UniversalGiving for the last few months. Today is my last day actually and I have to say it has been an incredible experience. The people are really nice and take what they do very seriously. I know who I will definitely be donating through in the future.

I first heard about of Universal Giving through a friend. What inspired me to join UniversalGiving, is that they make donating easy, transparent and customizable. In addition to that, 100% of each and every donation goes directly to the charity or organization. Their values and work have influenced me to increase my own philanthropic efforts and I have personally used their website to donate to charities in India.
I have worked with UniversalGiving for over a year now and I can only say that my experience here has been a complete joy. What makes UniversalGiving different is its application of its mission and values into the workplace. The values are not there just to read, but to be actively executed in daily life. The CEO, Pamela Hawley, is very personal and is truly a woman who lives to give. The energy in the office is always upbeat and positive. There has never been a day in which I left the office feeling unhappy!
Working with UniversalGiving has been an amazing experience. The year I have spent with the company has been inspiring and educational. Everyone who works for UniversalGiving is hardworking, dedicated and truly wants to help society. Pamela Hawley is an amazing CEO. She is an inspirational woman, working non stop, giving 110% to everything she does, big or small. One of my favorite times working with the team was a team event Pamela planned to clean up trash in one area of the tenderloin. Everyone on the UniversalGiving team truly works to fulfill our vision to "create a world where giving and volunteering are a natural part of everyday life." I highly recommend UniversalGiving whether you are searching for an organization to donate to or looking for a place to volunteer.
UniversalGiving makes volunteering and donating to causes so easy. They divide up the contents on their website between volunteering and donating. Then you can choose a region (like Latin America) to look for opportunities in. I will be studying abroad in Nicaragua in the fall and UniversalGiving helped me find a bunch of opportunities that I could give my time to in order to get more involved in the community. What is great is all of the donations go to the organization that you choose-nothing goes to UniversalGiving. This is a great organization; I wish more companies today were focused on helping make the world a better place.
What a great organization! They have a social entrepreneurship model that makes it easier for people to donate internationally, and all of your funds go to the ngo's. The people there are dedicated and warm, there is a positive vibe within the organization.
I joined UniversalGiving for the chance of helping others and learning more about Corporate Social Responsibility. From day one, I knew that this was the perfect, if not best, place for me to start off gaining CSR work experience. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly and seem dedicated to the organization's cause. There is barely any hierarchy as Pamela talks freely with everyone, including what most other companies would call lowly interns such as myself.
In terms of services, I had a hard time deciding whether to apply for a position at UniversalGiving or to volunteer. I have spent a lot of time looking at the different volunteer options UniversalGiving provides and already have a few options lined up for a summer volunteer excursion.
The working environment is very welcoming, and it make me wiiling to be part of it. The orientation really helps me to be involved in the family and enjoy the working.
When I found out about UniversalGiving, I knew instantly that I wanted to be a part of the organization. As a non-profit that puts volunteers and donors in touch with the causes that they care about, UniversalGiving provides a fully-transparent operating model to ensure that money goes just where it's desired.
The staff are experts in their fields and motivated by a common cause of giving back and helping others to do so as well.
UniversalGiving makes donating and volunteering easy. Unlike many institutions, 100% of your donation goes directly to the charity of your choice. I'm grateful to be part of such a positive, motivated team and have been inspired to make a positive influence on the world around me.
The environment involved with Universal emanates from the CEO's energy, Pamela Hawley, and the spirit of giving itself. Experiencing the organization first as a minor donor I couldn't be more pleased with the caring yet non-intrusive relationship they've kept with me over the years. Their work has inspired many, including myself, to make giving more and more part of their every day lives. In this manner the world and the individual is constantly improving.
I've had the great pleasure of working with UniversalGiving and it has in so many ways impressed me as an organization. The mission and the leadership are so inspirational, and everyone involved has a very genuine drive to help the world and live out the mission of UniversalGiving.
I am fortunate to be a part of an organization as humble and innovative as UniversalGiving. This non-profit provides effective and transparent ways to make a differance in the world by offering customized plans for people to help solve global problems and inequalities. The team here is diverse and motivated, making this an inspirational workplace geared towards philanthrophy and overall global improvement.
People often feel that volunteering and philanthropy are separate from their daily lives. I am fortunate enough to be involved with an organization like UniversalGiving, that has not only revolutionized the art of giving, but also has created such a streamlined process of helping individuals identify with the causes that move them the most. I am truly inspired by my CEO and the other members of my team!
After careful searching and consideration on what non profit I wanted to dedicate my time to, I decided on UniversalGiving because of its innovative approach in creating a web based market place that consolidates interests. This organization recognizes that one of the largest challenges for volunteers is being linked with a reliable and effective non -profit that addresses their specific area of concern. UnjversalGiving helps non profits find volunteers and helps volunteers find non-profits. Everybody wins!
Philanthropy is often thought of yet rarely made active. I am fortunate enough to volunteer a few days a week while in completion of my education. I chose Universal Giving because of their rigorous Quality Model and eagerness to give 100% of each donation. Therefore, every effort, time, and contributions are passed onto those who are in most need.
I recently started working at UniversalGiving and I find UG's strategic approach to streamlining the donation/volunteering process to be very effective. With over $1.5 M donated through the website and over 10,000 volunteers, UG's unique business model and strict adherence to its company values ensure that all employees and volunteers are on the same page and can efficiently contribute to a global environment of service.
I think UniversalGiving is an outstanding non-profit with maximum efficiency and transparency. I am so proud that we have this leading foundation that makes Giving and Volunteering so easy at San Francisco.
UniversalGiving is a wonderful resource for people looking to become more involved in the global world. The volunteer experiences afforded me a unique and memorable experience. I found the organization to be very responsive and helpful while I was evaluating the wealth of opportunities and organizations that UniversalGiving offers. It is apparent the passion and dedication of the organization is honest and committed to make a difference in not only the lives of the volunteers but the communities they are serving.
Universal giving is one of the only non profit organizations that is able to give 100% of donations and time to people in need. Not only in our community but worldwide! WOW!!
Pamela's vision of making volunteering a natural part of every persons day to day life, her incessant drive to make a positive difference in people's lives internationally, her seemingly boundless energy and enthusiasm motivated and drove our team to strive to do better every time! She is definitely an exceptional and notable leader in her field!
My daughter gave me a UniversalGiving gift package for Mother's Day. Since she knew world peace is important to me, she personalized it by choosing a package focused on peace-building.
Universal Giving is such an amazing website. I love the way it lets me do a custom search by interest area (e.g. I was searching for non-profits that provide education to girls in Africa, but you can also search for health, or by a different region/country!). Last Christmas, instead of giving traditional gifts to my family, I used the Universal Giving gift packages which I then gave to everyone. Each person in my family was able to select the non profit area that they wanted the dollars to go to, and received a personal ecard from me with the gift. It was an amazing way to provide a custom gift to each person in my family while helping others in greater need than ourselves.
UniversalGiving is a fantastic organization that promotes social awareness and global outreach! The team is fully dedicated to maintaining a quality product, and is 100% committed to building a solid foundation for giving. The website is a great resource to go to if you are interested in volunteering abroad or contributing in any way.
Universal Giving makes it so easy for me to nurture my want to give back something to our community. I can make more informed decisions about my volunteering and donations and it is important for me to know where my time, effort and resources are used. They have built an amazing platform that removes the hassles one may see in philanthropic work. I wish them all the success towards the achievement of their goals.
I began volunteering with UniversalGiving recently because I recognized the significance of the work they do. I interned for a Guatemalan NGO last summer and saw an unmet need for international volunteers and donation opportunities. UniversalGiving solves that need by connecting individuals and corporations who want to give (either their time or their money) with tremendous NGOs that are doing a great job in helping out their communities. I love working here because they are committed to having only the best and most committed NGOs on their database and enable personal relationships between organizations and donors. The working environment here is great, and every single person is committed to the cause our mission.
I originally volunteered for UniversalGiving as part of the Disney volunteering program, where I was searching for nonprofits in other countries for UniversalGiving to put on their site. I enjoyed my work so much, I decided to come out and help in a greater way. They provide a lot of opportunities for people that are trying to understand the nonprofit world, and they have fairly comprehensive systems in place to allow new additions to be very much a part of their organization. I felt I was immediately given responsibilities and so this has been invaluable as an experience.
Full disclosure here as I am CEO of UniversalGiving (http://www.universalgiving.org) :) But since this is dear to my heart, I had to share why I am involved, and how we got started! I was on a family vacation in Mexico at the age of 12, when my father and I veered off the traditional marketplace... stumbling upon a cult-de-sac of unwashed, maimed, begging children... My heart and mind flashed "unacceptable.'" I started volunteering at the age of 12, and when an adult, internationally in places such as India on microfinance, sustainable farming in Guatemala, and with Pol Pot's victims in Cambodia. If you like, you can read more about these experiences on my blog, Living and Giving (www.pamelahawley.wordpress.com). From these International experiences, I realized we needed to get funds and support to deserving, local organizations. To the local people who know the issues and have personal relationships on the ground. We created UniversalGiving so that people could give and volunteer all over the world, with trusted organizations run by these important leaders. One of my favorite parts of the site is our internship page (http://www.universalgiving.org/about_us/jobs.do). We love interns and providing them an exemplary experience. It's so important to provide ownership, initiative and opportunities for growth. They contribute so much to our team, and we do all we can to support them as well. I hope you enjoy the website, and, look forward to hearing your insights and feedback so that we can serve our global communities with higher levels of excellence. Warmly, Pamela Living and Giving Blog: http://www.pamelahawley.wordpress.com
This is a great site for volunteering and donating globally. I like that the organizations listed on the site are vetted for me. One of my favorite donation opportunities is to be able to give $20 to provide a lifetime of clean drinking water to someone in Vietnam through the East Meets West Foundation. I can't believe how far most people on the planet have to walk ridiculous distances just to get clean(ish) water. That's not okay with me, and I like that in a small way, I can do something about it. http://www.universalgiving.org/donate/supply_a_lifetime_of_safe_drin/id1855.do
the website highlights the most important news and updates on today's world issues. it also contain helpful information like volunteering opportunities with detail of locations and focus of interests. this is a great go-to site.
My favorite part of UniversalGiving is how easy they make it to get involved with a cause. So I know I want to do something about the environment...but where do I even start? Well, by searching the environment category on UniversalGiving for a whole list of ways to give. I also love the incredible variety, not just of ways to give to one cause, but also of different causes. I've used UniversalGiving several times, to send books to Africa, to send a toy to a refugee child, to sponsor internet access for a school... It's a perfect combination of doing something very personal...and it's as easy as selecting a project and donating. I also appreciate the email they send afterwards, confirming your donation. UniversalGiving has great customer service too! And I feel good knowing my money is going to an organization UniversalGiving has already vetted for me. When an organization asked me to give for Haiti, I checked first to see if they were one of UniversalGiving's vetted NGOs--and when I found out they were, I gave. UniversalGiving is a great destination for easy, meaningful, trusted philanthropy.
I love that UniversalGiving vets all of its organizations and projects. It gives me comfort to know that my donation is going to a quality, worthwhile cause. I also love the gift package page: (http://www.universalgiving.org/giftpackages/). Here, you can find tangible gifts such as "Save the Life of a Child" for $30!
