VTS is by far the best organization out in the civilian sector helping veterans transition from military mindset to civilian expectations. Many other organizations my friends or I’ve had experiences with aren’t quite there for Veteran’s with 100% genuineness. Sometimes it feels that other organizations try to find ways to disqualify Veteran’s prior to helping them. VTS is completely opposite to those! VTS truly cares; their mission is to assist in any way possible to ensure your success. Russell Levy doesn’t need to be doing this for Veterans. He’s a well educated civilian, he could’ve chose to continue with his civilian life, minding his own business, making hundreds of thousands of dollars. Instead, he gave it all away to assist America’s valiant make the transition to being a civilian once again. VTS goes above and beyond, they assist Veterans with multiple training opportunities from interview preparation, to resume writing, OSHA training, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Lean Six Sigma and so on… VTS services don’t end there, they continue after the training is completed by assisting Veteran’s with mentors that have gone through the process and other career professionals that are willing to help. They assist you with guidance in finding jobs, and brainstorming career paths. The wealth of their contacts are insurmountable. Russell is always there every step of the way, he’s a father figure, a brother, a mentor, a career counselor, etc. Thank you Russell for making our transition much less frightening and much more intriguing.
VTS is an incredible organization helping veterans prepare for life after the military. The training and certifications they offer are incredible. Can't say enough positive things about them and I continue to let fellow veterans know about their opportunities.
Veterans Transition Support (VTS) is an outstanding program that helps transitioning Veterans build their resume with relevant training, and knowledge to assist in finding a career after serving in the military. I recommend VTS programs to further opportunities in making a difference in the community.
VTS is the best program serving veterans transitioning from military to civilian careers. The No Cost Logistics and OSHA Certificates and one on one mentoring with resume building and interview skills were vital in helping to secure my first job. They are always available to answer questions and offer their resources to help connect transitioning members with perspective employers.
Highly recommend the program for transitioning veterans.
VTS is one of the top few veteran organizations that I trust. I have seek assistance from many veteran organizations and many of the fall short. Russell and his team are dedicated to help veterans and do a very good job. Every time that I needed help, I could always count on them. I am where I am at today thanks to Russell. I was totally lost when I left military service 10 years ago, and I can still count on VTS today should I need assistance.
VTS team member Russell Levy is a great instructor for Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. In a short period, he related concepts to a large group for easy application to broad business applications. I found the methods he used very relevant for someone transitioning to the civilian world to apply the general concepts quickly and achieve quick results. I will recommend this organization to all transitioning service members.
Veterans Transition Support is an absolutely wonderful company who has provided me with the tools I need to exceed. Without Veterans Transition Support I never would have been where I am today! Thank you so much Russell and everyone at VTS!
VTS is a wonderful organization. Russell and his team are second to none. Their outreach to transitioning military members helps with the fear of the unknown. I have definitely recommended and will continue to recommend this organization to all my transitioning Sailors and Marines.
Veterans Transition Support provides excellent courses and resources that are very relevant to Active Duty military and Veterans. I had the pleasure of attending an OSHA 10 Hour safety class, and a Lean and Six Sigma Yellow Belt course that were all taught by Russell Levy. His knowledge of the subject matter, and his passion for training his students, was clear throughout the classes. Russell ensured that his students received the practical information that we needed, and that we knew how to apply the material in our next career. Both classes were very relevant to my career search, and helped me get into my current position as a Quality Senior Project Manager. I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to attend free courses with Veterans Transition Support, and I have highly recommended them to my military coworkers.
VTS has been an absolute game changer for me in my efforts to find employment after leaving active duty! Their training is behavior-oriented, which gives vets the skills they need to add value to an employer on Day 1. And thanks to their partnership with Coursera, I leveled-up with additional resume-worthy certifications. Thanks VTS!!!
VTS is an outstanding organization. I was so happy with the LEAN training. Hope to see this organization add more training opportunities to help transitioning Sailors.
This is the GREATEST nonprofit organization; they understand urgency of time veterans don’t have when they are separating from the military. They help veterans to get qualify in 10/30 hour OSHA safety course, LEAN, Six Sigma, help write resume, practice interview, understand how to apply for disability, home loan. They do a great job helping junior and senior military personnel. Their approach is to educate and get veterans a job right away; which reduces the percentage of homeless veterans. I love this organization.
I took the LEAN Six Sigma Yellow Belt Course offered for free from this fantastic non-profit supporting veterans. Very detailed course and the instructor was very experienced and knowledgeable. Course was done via Zoom and the instructor ensured his equipment was configured for the best learning experience. I will definitely take advantage of more courses as I transition out of the military!
Everything I have in my career I owe to this company! VTS is extremely helpful, professional, and compassionate with regards to helping Veterans transition into the civilian workforce. The skills and knowledge I obtained from the training courses and seminars offered through VTS have allowed me many opportunities in the job market, and without them, I would not have the great job that I have today. I can't recommend them enough!
Solid team delivering outstanding training and information to Veterans. Personally completed OSHA30 class. Highly recommend this training to any veteran in the process of transitioning. Looking forward to sharing my success story, I definitely feel more prepared. Thanks Russell for your everything you do for our Veterans.
Before this program, i was homeless and living in my car, trying to deal with my PTSD and anxiety. Reluctantly, i signed up for the program. Russel was very helpful and i was able to get a certification and get off the streets. Ive had solid work since, and have learned to cope with my issues. If it was not for this program i would have ended my life.
Before getting out, I was unsure what I was going to do. I came across a Veteran Transition Support event on Camp Pendleton. Russel was teaching an OSHA 10 class and it changed my life. During the pandemic, Russel went above and beyond. When asked if he could teach a OSHA 30 class to a small group of service members, he was more than willing to commute so he could continue to help in any way possible. The amount of support, skills, and information VTS has provided me is indescribable.
Russell and his team provide a great service for veterans and their families. The educational experiences they convey are key to veterans finding employment and elevating their careers.
The staff is engaging and does a good job of making the material relevant in job scenarios. The only improvement that I could suggest is perhaps having some of the larger courses in more convenient locations. Regardless, the course was much better than I expected. I was very impressed.
Extremely useful and helpful team/program. I didn’t even know where to start with my transition, and they were able to set me on the right path. I am still relying on VTS as I continue my transition. Thank you.
VTS turned out to be a critical link in bridging military and civilian job skills. The programs offered through VTS afford veterans training and familiarity with the programs that you must be familiar with in order to enter civilian market.
VTSis a first-rate program for ALL transitioning servicemembers. After years of defending the nation, returning to the civilian world with tangible skills a hiring manager cares about can be difficult. VTS not only prepares veterans for this transition, but lets them know their uncertainty and hesitancy is completely common. I recommend any transitioning servicemember participate in as many of VTS's programs as possible!
After leaving the service many of us military members find that the change is hard and leverage is needed. Imagine being out of the system of government that you've always lived in which demands proven experience and knowledge. You return after years to find others advancing and thriving while you're still trying to find your footing. What VTS (Veterans Transition Support) does is provide that needed leverage for a decent living. Had it not been for the various services that they provide we wouldn't be able to stand tall in this world because after carrying the weight of our country and love for people on our shoulders we would be head down on our grind for day to day living attempting to advance in this world and nation's system . . . simply put, VTS makes life for military veterans possible through work, opportunity and leverage. How could we not turn to them?! Is this not what we need?!
A civilian organization aligned with the military for personnel transitioning from service. Provides training opportunities to enhance military skills and apply them to industry or private enterprises. Every military base should be so fortunate to have an organization such as VTS available for its service members. The networking and follow up with Russel would be the envy of any US Navy CPO mess. The involvement from volunteers and family proves how truly amazing VTS is for the community and our nation. Well Done VTS.
This organization helped me as a military spouse gain confidence by providing courses and training at no cost. These courses have helped me gain skills I wouldn’t have otherwise had access to. Thank you so much!! I hope this organization continues to thrive so that they can keep providing resources to the military community.
The staff and volunteers at VTS has provided me with a wealth of knowledge that I would otherwise not have been privileged to. I now feel comfortable and confident with my transition back to civilian life. Thanks Russell and Kathy.
VTS connects you to leaders and hiring managers to assist veterans so that we all continue being successful on our new paths. I still reference the notes and things I've learned in their programs during my new career. Thank you VTS!
Offering consistent quality training for Veterans re-integrating VTS empowers Veterans to improve their earning potential & quality of life
VTS is a top notch nonprofit organization that brings true value to the transitioning veterans. I took a couple of courses with them. The instructor was always knowledgeable and they provided a valuable certificates which I used in the professional setting.
I strongly recommend VTS!
VTS has truly changed the trajectory of my life, my marriage, and my career.
Thanks to the 1 whole year of free Coursera coursework, I was able to finish 8 courses in Data Science, an industry with very high demand for qualified individuals.
I'm now applying to jobs and confident in my ability to meet the demands in this modern, fast-paced field.
Russell, Kathy and the VTS Team put together some amazing training that have helped me get where I am today.
The OSHA and LEAN training benefited me as I transitioned out after 25 years of active duty and allowed me to have additional skills that are very useful in the civilian job market. This made me a more competitive job seeker and even more attractive employee to the school districts that I have been employed by.
THe VA presentation helped me navigate a new world and properly file for my claims preventing unnecessary headaches and delay.
I am grateful for all they have done for those of us transitioning out into a new career.
I had a great experience with VTS when I was transitioning. Thank you Russell
Russell Levy and Kathy Burnam have been very professional and helpful through my transition. I have been to All the Free Classes they offer like Osha 10 hour Industry, Osha 10 hour Construction, Osha Silica awareness, and also Lean process improvement. I have also forwarded my OSHA training with low-cost OSHA 30 hour Industry and Construction, and Russell also helped me with getting the experience to become an outreach trainer myself and completed the courses required to become an OSHA outreach instructor for General Industry at UCSD. VTS offers a variety of training and resources. When you attend any of the classses it is also a great place to network.
Greetings, I have used the VTS on several occasions, and the training I have received have been excellent and very professional. All the training was beneficial for me. I have received quite a few certificates from training such as Logistics and Supply Chain management, LEAN Six Sigma Yellow Belt, OSHA 30 General Safety and OSHA 10 General Safety. This training has been very helpful to me. I would recommend Veterans Transition Support (VTS) to anyone who is eligible to attend. Thank you for being available for us Veterans. You are greatly appreciated.

The Veterans Transition Support team helped me with full time training / job services .I highly recommend their service .
The "Veterans Transition Support " team helped me directly to find a full time job .I`ve been employed for the past 2 years and like my work.
I’m the guy who usually keeps his opinion to himself and would never put anything on the Internet. Well here I am doing both in hopes this information will get to even more Veterans. I’ve been preparing for the “Transition” that’s ahead . The support I have received from VTS is like nothing I ever expected; support is an understatement; it’s the personal caring of Russell Levy that sets VTS apart. You will walk away with a lot more than just classroom materials and confidence in applying what is learned. Thanks VTS.
As a Career and Professional Development Specialist at the Camp Pendleton Base Education Center, I have referred many Marines and Sailors to Veterans Transition Support. They have attended no-cost seminars on OSHA certification, using VA benefits to purchase homes, filing VA disability claims, and even how to qualify for a California Guard Card to become an armed security guard. The people at Veterans Transition Support have offered fantastic support to our military community. I have received much positive feedback about the organization.
This organization was introduced to me while still on Active Duty. The personnel are well knowledgeable, experienced, and overall great human beings. I participated in the OSHA 10 hour training as well as the LEAN certification. Overall, my experience with this organization has been fruitful and an excellent experience. Glory to God for selfless humans at VTS.
I got out of the military scared. I joined right after high school and I had zero experience with the civilian world. On top of that I had to be medically discharged. I did not know where to go with my life and I was scared, because I didn’t know where to turn to and being stuck I didn’t want to be homeless. I was lucky to see the “Veteran Transition Support” gave me the courage that I won’t fail and if I ever go to a job interview and they see am just a veteran. I’ll probably be asked what are my qualifications or what can I bring on the table to support the business. I thought about it, I didn’t really know what to say if this was in real life. I have nothing to say just that my only qualification was i was in the infantry. The Veteran Transition Support helped me to be able to transition military qualifications to civilian. Example when I think of conducting field day I can’t say that in a interview, but the veterans transition support got me to say “I am LEAN certified meaning I can see waste and think how to minimize it in the work environment and is operated in 5s. Veterans transition support has gave me the confidence to get back into the civilian workforce when I see am ready to keep fighting because sometimes in a fight you need to know your value and assets because I didn’t know. Thank you so much “Veteran Transition Support” for helping me see my worth.
I just completed the OSHA 30 hr General Safety with Russell and his team and I had an amazing experience. I recommend any course offered by the VTS to all transitioning service member. The courses are very informative and it’s a great way to utilize resources and connect with other transitioning service members. I will be attending more courses myself.
The care that Russell and his team gives you is more than expected. The genuine interest in your future and ensuring that you are leaving the military with some tools for the future is amazing. I’ve done Lean, OSHA, VA claim and the VA Home Loan provided by the group. I recommend this training to all my military friends leaving from the SoCal area!
I took the OSHA 30 class. Russell and his team were excellent there was nothing that they didn’t cover. I learn so much more than I already knew and this class helped me in so many ways. I encourage everyone who is looking for a new career or even just to further their career this is a course they should take. Russell is very good at what he does and so informative and I myself will be going to take more classes and ask as many questions as possible to help further my career and more.
I have had the pleasure of getting to participate in the different programs offered by the Veterans Transition Support (VTS). The staff have really impacted not only myself but the people I care about and educated us on important subjects to lead us to success. I would say that one improvement would be to get them more funding, given they are a non-profit, this would allow them to offer even more programs and continue to serve the community in a great way. I believe that with their excellent training and certificates, it helped me when it came time to getting hired for employment. My wife and I thank VTS and everyone for volunteering their time and helping everyone along the way!
Russell and his team are a great asset to veterans that are transitioning from the military back to civilian life. The time they take to teach and give back to veterans is unprecedented at no cost to service members. There should be more people like Russell out there to help veterans. He also helps with job placement. I will always support Russell, his staff and programs.
I transitioned out of the military and for 4 months struggled to find employment. After being introduced with this program I was able to be employed within 2 weeks of initial contact. Highly appreciative for their professionalism and willingness to help veterans
I have been to so many courses of theirs. It has changed my life. From veteran fresh out trying to find my way. They have directed me and guided me over the years with eduction to get buying my first home to landing my dream job at Facebook as a Deployment project manager. I’m glad a short conversation in a hallway led me on the right path.
Russell and the entire team that assists with this great program do an amazing job to ensure service members have the tools and assets to be successful upon their transition back to the civilian sector. They are more than willing to go above and beyond to help a service member out. I especially loved the OSHA courses and the filing a VA claim courses that were offered. There should be more programs like this available at every major installation!
I had been in the Marines for 22 years and wanted to start a new career. I took their how to file a disability claim, red cross class and OSHA 10. The how to file a VA disability claim class helped me to get a high enough percentage that I could afford to start over in a new career and make considerably less than I was accustomed to. I now did not have to take the job offers I had in LA or San Bernardino counties. I was able to apply for an apprenticeship in a career I wanted. The OSHA and CPR classes were classes I would need to take as part of the apprenticeship. When I went in for the interview having completed two classes on my own showed I had initiative and I was accepted.
I now have a great career as an electrician.
I took the Osha 10 class which helped me to get into an apprentiship as an electrician. I also took the class on how to submit a VA claim. The class helped me to get a higher VA disability rating. Great job, I will be a future volunteer when I finish my apprentiship. I am an apprentice in San Diego at IBEW 569 SDETT.
VTS is ran by people that really care, they do so much for veterans that are transitioning, they spend countless hours helping them. Great organization North County is lucky to have them!
These guys are amazing. I took the OSHA 10 hour course and enjoyed it so much I signed up and took the OSHA 30 hour course and learned so much about the SOP, PPE, safety and the construction industry. Looking forward to taking more courses with their amazing trainings Russell and team.
Absolute great experience! Obtained OSHA-30 General Industry certification. Russel and speakers were very motivational, helpful and presented material in “veteran language”. I highly recommend their services and invite all veterans to seek their classes. I appreciate their dedication to helping us veterans get a leg up on civilian transition.
Very friendly. Quite knowledgeable. They love to engage in friendly talk but are particularly good in listening.
Providing valuable skills to transitioning service members.
The Veterans transition support organization does a phenomenal job working with veterans. Everything from the courses they offer to the one on one mentorship and guidance the provide. The only thing that I wish that they could improve on is offer more course/support to veterans. or be able to advertise more about what they do. I only heard about them through word of mouth.
I have had the pleasure of getting to participate in the different programs offered by the Veterans Transition Support (VTS) here in my local area. The staff have really impacted not only myself but the people I care about and educated us on important subjects to lead us to success. I would say that one improvement would be to get them more funding, given they are a non-profit, this would allow them to offer even more programs and continue to serve the community in a great way.
Very personable and outgoing. Highly approachable and willing to spend time to assist with advice or career advice. They constantly encourage networking and helping others highly recommend.
VTS is very informative and supportive for those of us who are transitioning to civilian life. I never knew there were so many opportunities out there
This nonprofit is helping so many people in transitioning their lives from military to civilian, providing learning, training and a higher standard of education for me and others to be more marketable and and ready for the civilian workforce. The hospitality is so great, a lot of snacks, beverages, fruits and food always been provided. I don't have to go but lunch or anything. The training environment is always clean and accommodating. The only improvement is to just continue doing what they are doing. Thank you Mr. Russel, Ms. Kathy and staff.
Thank you for your kind words. It is an honor serving those who have served.
The sharing of experiences is what gets the students. Make it more interactive with the students.
Bringing in top-notch professionals from the field. This trainers/experts are able to share real world situations.
Amazing knowledge and very helpful in understanding all aspects of safety!
Best training in a long time..... A+ 5stars
The amount of opportunities VTS allows veterans in regards to transitioning out of service is absolutely amazing. I recomend VTS to everyone I know, and look forward to taking more classes with them.
