Programs: The pastry arts employment training program prepares young adults with learning differences for employment through skilled, on-the-job training. Serving 15 students this year, the program consists of a 260 hour, 10-week instructional phase, 160 hour, 8-week on-the-job training phase, and a 160 hour, 8-week paid in-house internship. The training includes comprehensive employee development including strategies for workplace communication, job responsibility, time management, resume-writing, interviewing and servsafe training. In addition to the program expenses indicated above, please note that total program expenses include a portion of costs of goods sold (part viii, line 10b) in the amount of 264,194. Total program expenses inclusive of costs of goods sold were 613,731.

caf sunflower employment training program: eight young adults are accepted annually (two per quarter) to this 9-month program. The first 3 months are customizable training using a curriculum plan developed by sunflower including informal evaluation. The structured, on-the-job training and employee development addresses customer service, work ethic and attitude, communication, time management, goal-setting, problem solving, efficiency and productivity, responsibility and honesty, success and setbacks. If successful during the first 3 months, trainee moves into 6 months of caf employment. Employees will work with trained volunteers during the final 4 -6 weeks on resume development, interview role-playing and guidance with the job search. In addition to the program expenses indicated above, please note that total program expenses include a portion of costs of goods sold (part viii, line 10b) in the amount of 33,162. Total program expenses inclusive of costs of goods sold were 193,508.
