My experience with this nonprofit "What is Beauty?" in the book Mosaic that they published has been really good. One reason it has been really good is because I see a lot of criticism for people's skin color very often just like in the nonprofit and I feel like it is very important for kids to learn about it because it can teach them about racism and how it's not right. I also really enjoyed it because not only have I seen racism happen to other people, but I have also experienced it myself and I enjoyed seeing how the girl in "What is Beauty" face criticism and instead of being discouraged she decided to look at her skin in a more positive way which is something I really liked. Those are some reasons why I like this nonprofit because they published this story,"What is Beauty" in Mosaic. Thank you

As a representative of Moms Demand Action, I had the pleasure of participating in a tour at the Montgomery County Family Justice Center earlier this week. I was so impressed by the knowledge, dedication and professionalism of the team as well as by the care and client focus with which they undertake their work. As a one-stop-shop for victims of intimate partner abuse, The MCFJC provides access to a wide range of services and accompanies clients in their journey to safety and well-being with the help of dedicated client assistants. They also continually adjust their approach based on feedback from clients, making for a pragmatic and effective model that gets results. I applaud the work of the Center and the Foundation that supports it and look forward to deepening the partnership with Moms Demand Action towards our shared objective of reducing violence in our community.

As a board member of the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA), I am continually inspired by the dedication and impact of this organization. HLAA does so much to support, educate, and advocate for individuals with hearing loss and their families. The commitment to accessibility, community connection, and empowerment is clear in every program and resource offered. HLAA brings people together, helping them navigate the challenges of hearing loss with compassion, knowledge, and practical tools. Each program and activity makes a real difference in people’s lives. If you are looking for a community that truly cares and works tirelessly to improve the lives of people with hearing loss, you will find that in HLAA. The work is meaningful, impactful, and deeply needed by so many suffering with hearing loss.

Your Dog's Friend is an amazing non-profit for positive, force-free puppy and adult dog training. I originally learned about YDF through our vet, who said it was the only local training facility that she would recommend. That alone says a lot! Through many classes (Puppy Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, Leash Walking and Out & About-some taken more than once for my own reinforcement and enjoyment), I have learned many great skills for working in partnership with my pups. The trainers are top-notch, gifted, caring people who value their clients' successes. They work incredibly hard to ensure a safe, positive environment for pups and their people. The skills I have learned are invaluable. I believe in YDF's philosophy and trainers so passionately that I now volunteer in classes several times a week. I feel so fortunate to be able to volunteer, as I just continue to learn every time I am there. I highly recommend Your Dog's Friend-you will be so glad you found it!

I was originally referred to the JCA by a friend. I had been recently laid off and was seeking not just another job, but also guidance on the current landscape of job seeking and how to possibly pivot my career. I heard about the Career Gateway Program while virtually attending one of JCA's job fairs and immediately reached out to Jodie Rasch to get signed up. I cannot say enough about this outstanding 5-day workshop and the facilitator Dr. Elise Barnes! It exceeded all of my expectations, not just in terms of excellent content, but also in terms of community. I am a proud graduate of the Career Gateway Program and I have also completed the LinkedIn and PowerPoint training courses. I am now working with a career mentor who was assigned to me after I completed the Program (another WONDERFUL benefit of the Program). JCA is an EXCELLENT resource to the 50+ community and I cannot stop singing its praises.

The American Kidney Fund (AKF) holds a special significance for me. Having personally experienced the devastating effects of kidney disease through the loss of my grandfather, I understand the profound impact this illness can have on individuals and their families. It's a deeply personal reason why I choose to support the AKF.

The Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse (JCADA) is truly an exceptional organization. Their unwavering commitment to supporting survivors of intimate partner violence is both inspiring and deeply impactful. Offering free, high-quality therapy services and advocacy support, JCADA provides a lifeline to those navigating the incredibly challenging journey of healing and rebuilding their lives.<br><br>The therapists and advocates at JCADA are not only highly skilled professionals but also deeply compassionate individuals who understand the complexities of trauma and abuse. Their holistic approach ensures that survivors feel heard, validated, and empowered every step of the way. From one-on-one counseling to safety planning and advocacy, JCADA tailors their services to meet each person's unique needs, offering both immediate support and long-term solutions.<br><br>Beyond their direct services, JCADA fosters a sense of community and resilience, ensuring that survivors never feel alone. I'm a Vietnam vet. No one was doing much for us when we got home and sometimes people were not even polite. We are doing better as a country for the post 9/11 warriors. I have personally worked with triple amputees in boats on moving water and guided blind vets under voice command on rivers and in races for Team River Runner programs. Our chapters have put literally thousands of vets, family, and care givers in boats.

<br>I feel compelled to share my experience with Every-Mind to raise awareness and caution potential employees. My intention is to provide valuable insights that could impact one's decision to associate with this organization. In my time with Every-Mind, I found their employment practices to be questionable at best. They seem to attract potential employees through enticing benefits and pay structures, but I would strongly advise exercising caution before considering employment with them. Here are some key concerns:<br>Unusual Pay Schedule: Every-Mind pays its employees every three weeks for a two-week pay period. This unusual practice creates financial challenges for employee’s as such a pay schedule is not normal- the catch is they will claim you are a salary employee, but it's clearly a high-way robbery company- Labor needs to check them out-they are getting away with murder.<br>As a new employee some companies withhold the first week's pay that is customary for employees. This practice is normal, however, contrary to Every-Mind standards, You consistently get paid every three weeks but for two weeks pay, and not a single person can explain why this is normal instead employees are quitting by the drones, while management pretend they don’t know why…. <br>Employees have disproportionately high tax deductions. For instance, a $2,500 paycheck could see deductions of $470, purportedly for taxes. This deduction rate appears unusually high and may impact the net income of employees significantly. Employees never catch-up on bills, as you work three weeks and get paid for two, sometimes by the 3rd week you can’t even afford gas in your car to come to work-that is pure wickedness.<br>Every-Mind appears to lack a cohesive management strategy. Instead of fostering a collaborative work environment, their focus is on micro-management, an approach that promotes disunity, divisive tendencies and the "divide and rule" strategy. This is creating dissatisfaction among employees, coupled with the low pay and institutional cheating strategies..<br>I feel it is essential to bring these concerns to light, as they raise questions about the overall work environment and employment practices at Every-Mind. National Foundation for Cancer Research is spending all donors money for mailing flyers and fundraising request to millions of people in USA. I got 20+ request in last year or so. Money raised is spending on executive's salary, travel etc. instead of cancer research. The CEO & former CEO made millions from this charity (family charity). Employee's are so frustrated with them & no leadership. If you wants your money to go for cancer research then donate to other wonderful charities like American Cancer Society etc.

The Humane League (THL) is a truly outstanding charity--among the very best--dedicated to the welfare of animals. I see them as HEROES because they show amazing compassion for all animals. They not only effectively EDUCATE people about ruthless, horrific animal abuse--such as in factory farms--they take meaningful ACTION to prevent it. I adore THL for defending animals from senseless, unforgivable cruelty. I've dedicated my whole life to this cause because NOTHING could ever be more important to me than protecting voiceless, helpless sentient animals from the unimaginable horrors they suffer. <br> <br>Factory farm animals spend their whole lives caged so tightly they can barely move & never get to spend a single moment with their families in the fresh air. They live horribly miserable lives 24/7 only to be slaughtered by heinous atrocities, such as suffocation over many hours by heatstroke. <br> <br>I agree with THL for currently focusing on factory farming, which has become an out-of-control NIGHTMARE for both animals & humans. THL is helping teach people that choosing plant-based foods isn't just a healthier choice. Collectively it can have a truly monumental impact reducing animal suffering & making the world a better place for us all. Factory farms are not only guilty of torturing animals 24/7, they're also #1 emitters of greenhouse gases, air, land & water pollution. Their depletion of natural resources is astronomical--eg. it takes over 600 gallons of precious water to make 1 meat dinner! They're the #1 cause--even above hospitals--of antibiotic-resistant superbugs & the #1 source of foodborne illness. Why? They're ultra-FILTHY w animals squished together by the millions. Their vile, unsanitary, germ-ridden conditions are the ideal breeding ground for disease--& perhaps the next pandemic! <br> <br>I also join THL's fight against ALL animal cruelty: puppy mills & pet stores, fur farms, cruel lab research, the barbaric meat trade (dog, cat, horse, etc), exotic pets, trophy/snare hunting, horrific live-animal markets, wildlife poaching & trafficking, habitat destruction, neglect & violence v pets (eg. by domestic abusers), & cruel entertainment: torture videos, dog/bull/cockfighting, rodeos, charreadas, roadside zoos, dog/horse racing. The tragic list goes on. <br> <br>THL gave me the privilege of getting directly involved on the local level with their activism. For example, we protested at Costco for getting their rotisserie chicken from a barbarically cruel & filthy factory farm. I felt I was able to make more of a difference than just making donations & got to work with other members locally. <br> <br>I genuinely admire THL for their steadfast devotion & relentless sacrifice protecting animals from the unspeakably heinous atrocities they suffer every day worldwide. Humans have created an unfathomably TRAGIC world for the majority of animals, so we need far more magnificent heroes for animals like THL. <br> <br>Thanks to THL, I've been laser-focused on fighting passionately to prevent passage of the EATS Act (H.R.4417/S.2019)* which would invalidate every single state & local law ever enacted to protect animals & prevent any future laws to protect animals--not just in factory farms but foie gras farms, fur farms, puppy mills, live-animal markets & trafficking, the horsemeat trade, & myriad laws/regulations not just to protect animals but to protect our entire food supply & all people from perilous diseases & much more. But why would politicians support a law making animal torture legal & endangering human health & the planet? A shamelessly pro-factory-farming, anti-animal super PAC--Forrest Lucas's Protect the Harvest (PTH)--funds their campaigns. GREED & POWER are their motives to outlaw animal protection & vital protections for humans. <br> <br>THL isn't alone fighting back. So is virtually every animal welfare & wildlife conservation group--& so are FAMILY farmers! PTH & factory farmers are spreading vicious lies that EATS is for the family farmer & will help the economy. HOGWASH! In reality, Big Ag is a colossal monopoly that stifles competition like no other industry & eviscerates small to mid-size businesses--the lifeblood of our economy. Big Ag's factory farms are driving family farms out of business--& EATS would facilitate their demise. <br> Family farmers say they toil very hard to be compliant with anti-cruelty laws. They say they love their animals & treat them with relative dignity, such as letting them enjoy the outdoors & graze in the pastures. (Infinitely better than being imprisoned in a factory farm!) Though slaughter is their "necessary evil," they say it's done as humanely as possible. For many years, however, family farmers have been losing their livelihoods, unable to compete with the Big Ag monopoly. Enactment of EATS would seal their fate. <br> The family farmers' plight is well known in agricultural communities nationwide. But the majority of Americans continue to get their meat eggs & dairy from factory farms, unaware of the devastating consequences to animals, people--including family farmers--& planet Earth. I was a participant in the Jewish Counseling for the aging in the Carer Gateway program for 50+2022. They exceeded my expectations in helping me in my job search over fifty. I got my resume reviewed by professionals, learned interviewing tips, and a lot of other tips for applying for jobs in the after fifty age group. I will be sure to keep my training manaual as an excellent reference tool. Thanks much to JCA for an outstanding training session with Professional trainers who were kind, funny, and pleasant to work with.

As a member of the board, I have seen the impact that this organization has on people with disabilities entering and staying in the workforce. The programs, trainings and other programs that TransCen puts on are first rate. They have adapted to both the virtual and in-person world. I am proud to serve on the board of this great organization and can't wait to see what all they accomplish in 2023!

The Little Engine That Could. This small nonprofit accomplishes large projects in Tanzania. Run by a Board of dedicated volunteers, donations go directly to the communities they serve. Unafraid to tackle projects large or small, AHEAD has been helping people improve their lives since the 1980’s.

My dog of 15 years died two months ago and I would like to adopt one of the Beagles that were found in Virginia. Can you tell if that is possible and the procedure. I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado?

Autism Society of America has provided so much support via their FB content and advocacy resources.

My father is a Veteran and has been sick for the past 4 years and now he is in Hospice Care. I just got to spend the last 3 days with him without having to sleep in my car. The Fisher house staff validated a complicated issue which was a barrier to have this opportunity to spend time with my father in this transition and arranged for me to have a very nice place to rest. I am very grateful for people who have donated to this organization as it has been very challenging to travel back and fourth and maneuvering around a barrier that would of kept me from having closure. My brother even got to stay with me and this reinforced my support system and ability to have some closure on this stage of my dads life. He is still in care of the VA hospital and they have been very supportive.

The receptionist is very rude she will let Hispanic people do whatever they want but to other people she will follow you and tell you that it’s against the rules please when you are working the policy it’s for everyone one of my friends why crying cause she told her that she doesn’t need to take all those stuffs cause she was homelessness they need to train her how to talk to other people

Sankara Nethralaya is one of the very few large non-profits where the transparency in funds raised and spend is 100%. One of the extremely rare organization where approximately 98% of the funds raised go to the intended service. Charity Navigator has awarded the highest possible rank of four stars.<br>I have been serving the community for over 22 years in various capacities, supported and donated to numerous non-profit organizations over the years and never encountered such transparency in a large non-profit organization. Sankara Nethralaya within a few weeks after the donation, sends the beneficiary name, their address, picture, tag number, surgery location to the donor.<br>One of the main reasons for joining the core volunteer group was the transparency, knowing where my money is going along with the Charity Navigator’s highest four-star rating and the less than 2% overhead.

We are giving this a two because of the excellent nursing we received while there. Even that cannot offset the fact that we were released from Physical Therapy and Swallow Therapy all too soon. It also doesn't make up for the fact that some level of mold was in our room. When we entered, we asked about mold and were told there was none. To be on the safe side, we brought in our own Dyson filter that heats and cools. There were two days that we didn't have the filter and had to rely on the HVAC system in the room...my husband vomited on those days. We informed management and while they did send someone to work on it, all they did was add another level of filter to the unit. On the last day we were there, I placed a petri dish mold tester on the HVAC unit for less than 10 minutes and it grew mold. I will upload photos in my next post.

I've had IC for over twenty years now, and the Interstitial Cystitis Association has been there for me from almost the beginning (I wasn't diagnosed until about three years into having symptoms). They were instrumental in helping me get a diagnosis and find providers who could help me. In addition, they assisted me in getting the word out about my support group for people living with IC, gave me opportunities to raise awareness of the condition, and helped shaped me as the IC advocate that I am today. I am beyond grateful!

Goodwill is such a great organization. They are a strong partner that helps us connect with their beneficiaries and makes sure that we are having the best impact possible.

My husband and I nearly lost our oldest daughter to suicide. After that experience, we got more involved in advocating for mental health services and have been volunteering with NAMI Montgomery County since 2013. They provide excellent training for their volunteers and we facilitate a support group for parents of children living with mental illness. I also help teach their NAMI Basics class for parents. They offer so many tremendous free resources to the community to help families with a loved one suffering with mental illness know they are not alone and have the support they need to move forward towards recovery.
