Programs: Obo addy legacy project presented performances and educational outreach activities throughout the year. The organization served over 15,000 people mainly in oregon and washington. All of our programs were based on educating people about the rich cultures and musical traditions of ghana and the connections to african-american culture. We worked through the young audiences and right brain initiative programs to bring ghanaian dance and drumming to school age children. We spent the year going once a week to schools throughout the region. In addition, we went to about 24 schools for assembly programs. We spent a number of months at lewis school, trillium creek primary and rigler and vestal schools in portland and gardner school in vancouver. We sent a drummer/teacher to southwest washington- swccc to conduct summer classes for children as young as 4 years old and as old as ten. We performed at many summer celebrations including the world beat festival in salem and the portland parks concert series performing in holladay park. We brought a program entitled "drum language" to the oregon youth authority at rogue valley correctional institute and taught 40 sessions of african and african american traditions in drumming.
